    Separate author's pages for such work as Lord of the Rings Online game-inspired poetry are now included. Any poetry not strictly Middle-earth will be so marked and on a different page to prevent reader confusion, yet we will also be able to provide an outlet for our Tolkien-inspired gaming.  Some items work for both sections and will be linked in both locations.

The Riddle Game
is by members of the Valar Guild, continually in progress.
        It is a new page put up today to collect riddles from the Forum and the Poetry page in one place. The riddles must be in poetic form. Riddles not yet answered on the Forum may not have the answer posted on the Riddle page, and are answered in turns so no more than two riddles will be unanswered on the Riddle Game page. The new page is linked to both the Poetry and Quizes sections.

   A Ballad of the Unsung by Jeff Russell fka Manwe-(Valar).
    Filk lyrics showing the battle in front of the Black Gate of Mordor. A filk is a new set of words set to known music so that it can be sung.
    The original music and words come from Gordon Lightfoot, who wrote an Irish-style folksong called "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".
    The unusual use of "Dagorlad" is intentional: first because it fit better within Lightfoot's template, and second because of the literal translation of the word as "Battle Plain".
