From every tall watch tower and old shield wall
Come warriors so bold to answer war's call
Such is the warden’s way
To know your enemy does keep them at bay
Mastering spear, fist, and shield is their mainstay
Such is the warden’s way
A forced march can muster at any camp site
They persevere in the watch against the night
Such is the warden’s way
The dance of war is a well favored tune
The celebration of skill an honored boon
Such is the warden’s way
The ambush is well set with each careful step
And a wall of steel is built without much prep
Such is the warden’s way
Never say die screams their most fervent war-cry
As a boar’s rush inspired attack they will try
This is the warden’s way
It’s a terrible visage lends fierce resolve
From the wages of fear they surely absolve
Such is the warden’s way
Shield up high to deliver a mighty throw
A quick thrust is used to place a precise blow
Such is the warden’s way
And the dark before the dawn feeds the death toll
Exaltation in battle that is their only goal
Such is the warden’s way
With fisted shields do they rain desolation
Shared glory is the most sought conviction
Such is the warden’s way
On the brink of victory at battle's end
For surety of death do their foes contend
Such is the warden’s way
The onslaught gives way and foes fail to defend
Leaving spears one must sharpen and shields to mend
Such is the warden’s way
Now it is back to the watch tower so tall
Rejoining brothers in arms in the shield wall
Such is the warden’s way
