Hello ladies and gentlemen.
I'm pleased to inform you all the scale model exhibit on the USS
Lexington aircraft carrier in Corpus Christi will officially open
Memorial Day at 10am. There is supposed to be a formal ribbon
cutting ceremony, and media will be there to cover it. This
exhibit has taken five years to complete, and features over 370
model airplanes and ships....the largest single display of its
kind in the state. Over 120 modelers from 16 states and 5
countries donated their time and effort to make this happen....and
I'm proud to be among them.
My pilot and crew figures are featured with many of the airplane
models, and its possible I'll be called on to provide more. As far
as I know I'm the only one who contributes figures to this
exhibit. The plan is for the exhibit to be a permanent part of the
museum, even though on occasion some of the models may rotate in
and out, or go on loan to other museums. So, for those of you
who've never seen the museum, or those of you who just haven't
been in a long time, now there's a new reason to consider it.
I'm so honored to contribute something for it, and basically its a
dream come true. Having some of my work in a museum is something
many only dream of. I can cross this off my bucket list.
