Requested Articles
In General:
1. All articles must be referenced from Tolkien's books to cut down
mistakes. Give at least the book, although the chapter name or number
helps a lot.
Page numbers need to include the book's version as in a Bibliography
style, since so many versions are out.
What are we looking for?
1. General information including text, maps, and art. Many types
of
Tolkien enthusiasts use the Tolkien Encyclopedia, including students,
teachers,
fans of Tolkien's books, fans of movies made from Tolkien's books,
movie-makers, role-players,
dungeon masters, fan fiction writers, artists, and you.
2. Requested articles listed below. Names in bold are
especially
urgent.
3. Already see something up? Don't let that stop you. It's wonderful to
have more than one article on a subject or
character.
No two are alike if they have much content at all. Different styles are
clearer to different readers.
4. Names are mentioned without a link all over the Encyc
that need articles (most not listed below). They are there partly as a
service
and partly as reminders to us writers. Try looking under your favorite
Subjects such as Elves for inspiration.
Help out with ongoing projects or start one. Here are some currently
operating:
1. Project: Lines of
kings: articles, especially on some of the human kings, needed to
better make history unfold as the reader goes
from link of king to successor for many generations.
2. Project for the Hobbit: character descriptions both
physical (including
changing clothing) and mental; setting descriptions for where they
traveled or stayed, overviews of main events, places they travel
through. Any detail
inside these. The movies are now out, but these articles would still be
helpful for all the usual reasons: scholars, writers, artists.
3. Project: Timeline. Dated
events linked to lines of kings, teams/escorts, names, and places all
over the Encyclopedia. Event overviews, battles are especially needed
for this.
