Tuor
Tuor was chosen to aid Ulmo,
carrying his prophecy
of warning
to King
Turgon of Gondolin.
His companion, also chosen, was the elf, Voronwe
the mariner.
Tuor, although human, married Idril
who was the
daughter of Turgon, the elven-king of Gondolin.
Their son was Earendil,
who brought about the
reconciliation between the Valar
and Middle-earth and the resulting
downfall of Morgoth.
