    bossshapewise
    [3:36 PM]
The last guy is fun sort of, Buru, Cala will know her or him,
because you have to beat the eggs to ten percent , Boss focusses on
one and then you got to kite him to this egg . for then his armor is
weakest , but then you got to be careful with which speed  that
happens neither too slow or too fast is really any good

I believe this is one of the security things they've been working
    on.
    [4:56 PM]
The lag from the attacks has dropped off.
    [4:56 PM]
I recommend using the 64 bit version rather than 32. It has far far
    less lag.
    [4:56 PM]
People are running a lot of stuff like Remmorchant ahead of the
update, trying to get the top gear ahead of the new raids.
    [4:57 PM]
We fully expect junk landscape drops to beat some of even that, but
    we can always hope.

First off, don't forget the Forum rp story. : )
    [5:02 PM]
Next up, Irmo had a topic for us:
    [5:03 PM]
By what quality did the ships of Lindon have the ability to reach
Valinor in the 3rd area? Special ships (ala Aqualondë) or special
shipwrights (aka Cirdan)? Or both? And how many passnegers have
they taken back during the years? (Gandalf/Glorfindel/the orher
wizards/any else?). And why could Legolas make one?
    [5:03 PM]
Tackle whichever part of that you like or all at once. : )
    [5:08 PM]
On how could Legolas make a boat that could reach Valinor, he may
    have had training from Imrahil.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
    Powered by friendship!

    Varda10/04/2020
The port of Dol Amroth is known to have sent ships to Valinor. One
was the ship from which Amroth jumped to try to go back to his
    Nimrodel.
    [5:09 PM]
Friendship is a strong force. Might not be far off.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
I suspect it was more who was on the boat than who made the boat.

    Varda10/04/2020
Now that is a strong possibility.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
    All elves welcome!

    Varda10/04/2020
Ring-bearers welcome if accompanied by elves and a Maia. : )

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
Dwarf welcome if accompanied by elf!

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
A whole crew of Dwarves could operate one of Cirdan's ships, but
that doesn't guarantee they'll end up in Valinor. As mentioned
already, though, Legolas made a ship of his own, and got there. He
didn't exactly live near the water so I suspect he didn't have any
    secret shipbuilding lore.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020

    [5:16 PM]
crew of Dwarves might not make it
    [5:16 PM]
but one with an elf passenger might!

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
One sec, need to grab Sil for a quote before I make my next comment.

    Varda10/04/2020
A question there might be if the dwarves would then be told to sail
on back. They needed to be strong friends at least.
    [5:17 PM]
    yay well-referenced comments!
    [5:18 PM]
grabs bite of supper that Sauron brought in, unconcerned about
      poison

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
Dwarves weren't banned from the Aman per se.

    Varda10/04/2020
True! They would go to Mahal!
    [5:18 PM]
    aka Aule.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
Doesn't necessarily mean they'd feel they fit as well as an Elf, but
they wouldn't necessarily have the same problem as a human.

    Varda10/04/2020
Gimli and Legolas should be able to keep up their friendship in
    Valinor then.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
"Why do you people keep bringing hobbits in here?"

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
Similar perhaps, since both are mortal, or perhaps a wholly
    different set of issues.

    Varda10/04/2020
    Thought they were dwarves!
    [5:20 PM]
Humans and their variants go to Eru, but Dwarves go to Aule in
    Valinor.
    [5:20 PM]
Not sure how much mixing might go on. Maybe feast days.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
    Ok, so here's my comment...
    [5:20 PM]
Not to make it sound too mundane, but it could easily have been as
simple as the Valar setting "permissions" just like on a server, and
as long as the requisites are met, the ship gains access.
    [5:21 PM]
And for my quote, we have this from the Akallabeth:

    Varda10/04/2020
Elves and Dwarves Pass. Others, they shall not pass.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
    Filter: if "Elf" then Float

    Varda10/04/2020
    hehe

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
"And tales and rumours arose along the shores of the sea
concerning mariners and men forlorn upon the water who, by some
fate or grace or favour of the Valar, had entered upon the
Straight Way and seen the face of the world sink below them, and
so had come to the lampit quays of Avallonë, or verily to the last
beaches on the margin of Aman, and there had looked upon the White
Mountain, dreadful and beautiful, before they died."

    Varda10/04/2020
    Rough.
    [5:23 PM]
Pharazon and crew were only allowed because the Valar waiting to see
    what Eru's judgment was.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
So if we take this tale at face value, it would seem that even then,
some Men found their way upon the Straight Way, however they may
have been permitted to do so.
    [5:25 PM]
Pharazon and crew sailed a real ocean to arrive. There was no need
of a "Straight Way" at the time.

    Varda10/04/2020
    Ones about to die anyway?
    [5:25 PM]
    Good point.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
    so

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
It was this act that triggered the need of a "Straight Way"
actually, to remove temptation completely from mortal man.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
    ringbearers dead on arrival?

    Varda10/04/2020
We hear that Men get to go to Valinor, at least Mandos, a short time
before going on to Eru. Don't know if that's all of them or not.
    [5:26 PM]
Special dispensation for some to get to see actual Valinor before
    death?

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
To be healed of the wounds caused by the Ring, aye. [Note:
    Ringbearers]

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
"This place is beautiful!" "Yep. And now you're dead. Mandos is over
    there, good luck!"

    Varda10/04/2020
Humans and hobbits arriving on Valinor tended to "live" faster
there. So not instant we hope.
    [5:28 PM]
And what Eonwe said. Plus a thank you.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
Technically, I think it would be "live slower". Imagine the mind of
a 100 year old in the body of a 10 year old.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
Well, Bilbo and presumably Sam were quite old when they got there.

    Varda10/04/2020
It was like burning out faster, if I'm remembering right.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
"There you would but wither and grow weary the sooner,
as moths in a light too strong and steadfast."

That's how the Akallabeth puts it. I described it long ago like
    "Light-wraiths".

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
In that case, they were pretty burnt out already.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
HoME when discussing it talks about it similar to as I described
right now. I don't have the exact spot in front of me, but it's not
    necessarily contradictory anyway.

    Varda10/04/2020
    That sounds right
    [5:34 PM]
The idea of light-wraiths that burn out is interesting.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
The idea is that in Valinor the life cycle is set more to match
Elves. The physical nature of the body would grow in that time, but
the mind of the mortal would grow according to its nature.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
    The moth thing is familiar.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
So while the body is just entering its spring, the mind is already
thinking about winter, so to speak.(edited)
    [5:35 PM]
This puts the body and spirit at disunion.

    Varda10/04/2020
I don't see how they would be in spring if they arrive and start
    burning out

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
To be clear, in this instance we're speaking of a mortal born in
    Aman.
    [5:37 PM]
    I'm going to make me go find the passage, arent I? :}

    Varda10/04/2020
Ahh, different subject - why would one be born in Aman?
    [5:37 PM]
    You're so mean to yourself. : )

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
Well, if mortals moved to Aman, nature takes its course even in the
    Blessed Realm :}

    Varda10/04/2020
But if they're burning out and the ones we hear about seem to be?

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
Difficult, as only male mortals have gone there so far.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
Well the argument is "Why can't we mortals come visit you in Aman,
bring our kids, maybe build a house over on that hill there no one
is living on?" Obviously it wouldn't stop with just a few mariners.

    Varda10/04/2020
Thus the answer is no. : )
    [5:40 PM]
    You already have Middle-earth.

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
For the record, Eonwë is making Eonwë find that passage now, so
    pardon if I'm silent :}

    Varda10/04/2020
    Ok : )
    [5:43 PM]
We have reached the hour and burned past it by 43 minutes. : )
    [5:44 PM]
However, we can still talk in After-meeting.

    [5:46 PM]
Nice thing about text is we can come back and catch up on what was
said if we have to look away.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
Yep  Did a battleground and a timewalk during the topic.

    Ioreth10/04/2020
I discovered yesterday that they made the storm crow untamable on
the start island. Oh well, it was fun. PTR never stays the same.
They have announced when prepatch will be, and when the expansion
    will not be.

    Varda10/04/2020
    Aiya Ioreth : )
    [5:57 PM]
    and thanks for the info.

    Ioreth10/04/2020
You did say it was after meeting

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
    Aiya

    Varda10/04/2020
    Yes it is
    [6:00 PM]
You don't have to wait until after meeting to talk. : )
    [6:00 PM]
That was an actual thank you

    Ioreth10/04/2020
I will try again  once it is on live to see if I can tame the
critter, but I suspect it won't happen. lol

    Varda10/04/2020
They heard about you. : )
    [6:02 PM]
Part of the fun of testing is getting to do stuff that can't be done
    in the main game.
    [6:02 PM]
I like seeing the longer versions of a story in the testing for
LotRO. They shorten a lot in the main game world.

    Ioreth10/04/2020
I'm sure I'm not the only hunter out there to attempts to tame
everything. Seems like one time there was even a raid boss that was
    tamable. That was years ago.

    Varda10/04/2020
That would be a fun boss ending!

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
Well, there was Oondasta, but that was later on...

    Ioreth10/04/2020
It makes for not popular hunter. I have tamed bosses in dungeons
before. Usually it breaks it and you have to restart to actually do
    the dungeon

    Varda10/04/2020
    oops

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
You'd think blizzard would've fixed that by now. Just make the fight
    reset.

    Ioreth10/04/2020
Whomever wrote the Wikipedia about Valinor seems to have done a nice
    job.
    [6:05 PM]
One such beast is the flaming storm crow in the dungeon in draenor.
If you tame it you have to suicide by jumping off the platform

"If it is thus in Aman, or was ere the Change of the
World, and therein the Eldar had health and lasting joy, what
shall we say of Men? No Man has ever set foot in Aman, or at least
none has ever returned thence; for the Valar forbade it. Why so?
To the Numenoreans they said that they did so because Eru had
forbidden them to admit Men to the Blessed Realm; and they
declared also that Men would not there be blessed (as they
imagined) but accursed, and would 'wither even as a moth in a
      flame too bright'.

    Ar-Pharazon-V10/04/2020
    Not too bright down here...

    Eonwë Valar10/04/2020
Beyond these words we can but go in guess. Yet we may
consider the matter so. The Valar were not only by Eru forbidden
the attempt, they could not alter the nature, or 'doom' of Eru, of
any of the Children, in which was included the speed of their
growth (relative to the whole lief of Arda) and the length of
their life-span. Even the Eldar in that respect remained
      unchanged.

    [7:21 PM]
    (emphasis the text's, not mine)
    [7:24 PM]
Let us suppose then that the Valar had also admitted to
Aman some of the Atani, and (so that we may consider a whole life
of a Man in such a state) that 'mortal' children were there born,
as were children of the Eldar. Then, even though in Aman, a mortal
child would still grow to maturity in some twenty years of the
Sun, and the natural span of its life, the period of the cohesion
of hroa and fëa, would be no more than, say, 100 years. Not much
more, even though his body would suffer no sickness or disorder in
Aman, where no such evils existed...."

    [7:25 PM]
Skipping some paragraphs to the part I was remembering...
    [7:29 PM]
"But let us suppose that the "blessing of Aman was also
according to Men. What then? Would a great good be done to them?
Their bodies would still come swiftly to full growth. In the
seventh part of a year a Man could be born and become full-grown,
as swiftly as in Aman a bird would hatch and fly from the nest.
But then it would not wither or age but would endure in bigour and
in delight of bodily living. But what of the Man's fëa?
Its nature and 'doom' could not be changed, neither by the health
of Aman nor by the will of Manwë himself. Yet it is (as the Eldar
hold) its nature and doom under the will of Eru that it should not
endure Arda for long, but should depart and go elsewhither,
returning maybe direct to Eru for another fate or purpose that is
beyond the knowledge or guess of the Eldar.

    [7:35 PM]
Very soon then the fëa and the hroa of a
Man in AMan would not be united and at peace, but would be
opposed, to the great pain of both. The hroa in full
vigour and joy of life would cling to the fëa, lest its
departure should bring death; and against death it would revolt as
would a great beast in full life either flee from the hunter or
turn savagely upon him. But the fëa would be as it were in
prison, becoming ever more weary of all the delights of the hroa,
until they were loathsome to it, longing ever more and more to be
gone, until even those matters for its thought that it received
through the hroa and its senses became meaningless. The
Man would not be blessed, but accursed; and he would curse the
Valar and Aman and all the things of Arda. And he would not
willingly leave Aman, for that would mean rapid death, and he
would have to be thrust forth with violence. But if he remained in
Aman, what should he come to, ere Arda were at last fulfilled and
he found release? EIther his fëa would be wholly dominated
by the hroa, and he would become more like a beast, though
one tormented within. Or else, if his fëa were strong, it
would leave the hroa. Then one of two things would happen:
either this would be accomplished only in hate, by violence , and
the hroa, in full life, would be rent and die in suddent
agony; or else the fëa would in loathing and without pity
desert the hroa, and it would live on, a witless body, not
even a beast but a monster, a very work of Melkor in the midst of
Aman, which the Valar themselves would fain destroy."

    [9:09 PM]
    But wait, there's more!
    [9:10 PM]
I completed the heroic Darkshore warfront, unlocking a mount for
    sale, the Sandy Nightsaber.
    [9:10 PM]
There's apparently also a cutscene unlocked with that, but haven't
found the way to see that yet. Now that Darkshore is in patrol
phase, I'll take a look tomorrow.
    [9:11 PM]
Aaaaand I unlocked mechagnomes after that! Going through that fun
little questline with Mekkatorque, Erazmin and Kelsey, Mechagon is
freed storywise, and I got the Mechagon Mechanostrider mount as
    reward
    [9:11 PM]
And then made my new alt Calectronica, whose armory I linked earlier
    this week
    [9:14 PM]
And with that, my biggest projects I wanted to do before SL were
done, so I capped it off by doing the quest to get rid of my Gift of
N'Zoth, getting the eyeball as a toy reward instead; and after that
visiting Anduin for the post-N'zoth quest, which also led to the
aftermath of the fourth war and the armistice.
    [9:15 PM]
And then I started the bee questline in Stormsong, where I'm now
honored! I hope to complete it before the patch, but shouldn't be a
    problem.
    [9:15 PM]
And that's my report for the week
    [9:18 PM]
    busy busy week!

I look at all these books and scrolls and stuff in my inventory, and
I wonder why Blizzard hasn't given us some sort of Lorebook to store
    all this stuff in yet.
    [3:02 PM]
We have the Appearance tab for gear, Tabs for Pets and Mounts, Toys,
and Heirlooms, but nothing for all these books and scrolls they give
    us every expansion.
