but I guess that in-world it makes more sense than a human sorcerer

could be with a magical item, in a magical place to hit all of that.

Gandalf is magical. Galadriel. You can think of more.

So the concept of magical might be in the eye of the beholder.

permanent buffs.

difficulties... you can grind your way up! There's also daily login
bonuses for the currencies, daily quests, and other stuff to help
you out if you want to put some regular time in it.

Diablo 4:
Made a bit more progress. Druid on the main realm started to hunt
sidequests in the Scosglen region, getting the Renown level there to
3, and unlocking a skillpoint. Always useful! (edited)

My seasonal necromancer went for season journey chapter 2, getting
most of the objectives there, including clearing 10 cellars, freeing
his first stronghold, and cleaning out 5 malignant tunnels, a
seasonal feature.

Along the way he got from level 17 to level 23, with most of the new
skill points put in passives for the skeletal minions, and unlocking
further options for the skeleton mages. And enough objectives
complete to get the battlepass to level 7, getting a free sword
appearance.

Only thing left in the chapter is getting to level 25 and unlocking
a few waypoints, and after that it's time for the next few seasonal
quests.

Level 70 on the reward track. Also completed the quest event,
getting the last few reward packs.

Tavern brawl is Shiftcon West, an expansion on the Shiftcon brawl,
where on top of the shifting minions that change each turn they're
in your hand, you also get shifting scrolls that change into a
different spell each turn they're in your hand. So not only do you
need to time your plays, you also need to use the good stuff in the
turn you get them. Makes things complex and random, but a nice
challenge

Raiding's kinda still going, with another weekly Sarkareth kill, but
player numbers are low. Today was a day off for that reason, and we
hope we'll be able to get him on tuesday instead.

Week event is arena skirmishes and pet battles, but the skirmish
weekly quest appears to be bugged, as there are various reports of
it not being available to those who did it the last time it came
around, including me.
But at least I got 5 pet battles done

The Secrets event has ended, with all clues unlocked. They're
permanent additions though, so I'll go back for them at a later
date. There was a temporary Feat of Strength, though, to help
activate an arcane forge in Valdrakken, by feeding it with arcane
disturbances every few hours. I almost found out about it too late,
but was able to join on one of the last days to get the feat.

For alting, I got a few sidequests done in Revendreth with the mage,
concerning the missing tithe in Darkhaven, and attempting to find
out who the traitor was.

And with the new goblin warrior I did the first few Kezan quests,
cleaning up the Kaja'mite mines, riding around in a new car, the Hot
Rod, to gather up a few stacks of Kaja'cola - one stack sent away to
another alt for safekeeping, and one stack to check if they will
survive the transition out of Kezan - since you won't be able to get
them later. Interesting stuff, but I'd rather keep them around than
use them

She also rounded up a few friends in the Hot Rod, whom she'll use
for a few quests out in the town, before the party in her honor
starts for the next chapter of the story.

And she got to level 3 along the way. It's a start

Among her new abilities is Shield Slam, a basic rage generator, but
I wonder if she'll get access to dualwielding weapons before level
10, without the use of a shield. I guess we'll find out!
