Before-meeting
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
VardaValar1 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: just about that time :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
VardaValar1: Aiya :-)
ArPharazonV: Still in lfr, but still got time!
VardaValar1: aye, 6 minute warning for you and me!
ArPharazonV: 15!
VardaValar1: yay!
ArPharazonV: 15 minutes that is
VardaValar1: getting clear for the meeting. I show 5 minutes. First part you can scroll though
ArPharazonV: what? it's .47
ArPharazonV: I know about timezones, but 8 minutes difference is silly.
VardaValar1: um, 3:51 here now, plus 1 for eastern is 4:51pm, so 9 minutes to meeting?
ArPharazonV: yep!
VardaValar1: and synched. :-)
VardaValar1: Inviting now
PallandoValar has entered the room.
PallandoValar: Aiyas
VardaValar1: Aiya Pallando :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
VardaValar1: I don't see anyone else to call, not even Ghostbusters, so they can join us later.

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: A star shines on the hour of our meeting
VardaValar1: Membership:

VardaValar1: Gorlim was on LotRO
AriehnV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Arien :-)
AriehnV: aiya all :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
VardaValar1: In Membership news, if you want to pass any on
ArPharazonV: Well for me
ArPharazonV: switching internet providers next friday
ArPharazonV: so if something goes wrong, and I'm not here in meeting.... something went terribly wrong indeed.
VardaValar1: Yikes!
VardaValar1: Thank you for letting us know, and may the new one give you improved service.

VardaValar1: Web:
VardaValar1: Games Site has updates for news.
VardaValar1: Eonwe would be happy to post your emailed game reviews, in the form you want to see them in online.

VardaValar1: Tolkien Site has new art from the Bohemian Weasel-(T):
VardaValar1: New section for Gollum:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/BohemianWeasel/characters/Gollum/Gollum.htm
AriehnV: bah hope your provider does good work now
VardaValar1: New art for Mordor:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/BohemianWeasel/places/Mordor/EmlSignalofMordor.jpg
VardaValar1: Two pieces for Arwen from the movie:

VardaValar1: For Rohan, some pics of Meduseld:

VardaValar1: The standard of Rohan:

VardaValar1: and a dysfunctional family pic:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/BohemianWeasel/places/Rohan/EmlEowynEomerTheoden.jpg
AriehnV: i like her works
VardaValar1: Agreed. :-)
VardaValar1: These are rather quickly drawn pieces. She says she no longer has time for the ones with lots of fiddly bits that she loves.
VardaValar1: Here's a sample of one of those from when she could:
ArPharazonV: Still looks great though.
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/BohemianWeasel/characters/Faramir/faramir-sharon-scan6-final.jpg
VardaValar1: Aye, they do. :-)
VardaValar1: Please feel free to try your own hand at art, even stick pictures
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/Arathorn/caveArathorn.htm
VardaValar1: A little creativity goes a long way. :-)

VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: WoW:
VardaValar1: From the Games Site:
VardaValar1: Patch 6.0.2 has been released! The Iron Horde is upon us, and they've crushed our stats underfoot! OK, Blizzard squished the stats, but see that and more of what happened in the patch notes. Then take a look at the hotfixes. Get in on the pre-expansion events!
VardaValar1: Hallows End is also here, with new pets, new masks, some costumes, and gear now at item level 540, equivalent to normal(formerly flex) raid gear.
VardaValar1: I'm going to go ahead and give you Eonwe's comments from the email, as they are of general interest:
VardaValar1: and he was ina good mood. :-)

VardaValar1: Most exciting news among it (for certain values of "exciting", hehe) is the 6.0.2 patch is out. Stat squish, class rebalance, pre-expansion events, changes to the group finder, etc. Looks like Ret Paladins got through it fairly unscathed damage-wise, at least at 90. I've not noticed a decrease in effectiveness, and have even seen some improvements when fighting some mobs, so lucky me, hehe.
VardaValar1: Best of all is I have more room in my inventory thanks to the toy box, the resource tab (and resources stacking higher), and the extra void storage tab. I'll be enjoying that space while it lasts, hehehe.
VardaValar1: Take care :}
VardaValar1: Eonwë
VardaValar1: /endletter

VardaValar1: Any other general WoW news?
ArPharazonV: All the current raids seem a lot easier now. Something went wrong there with the balancing I think, or maybe it was intentional.
VardaValar1: Maybe a form of encouragement?
ArPharazonV: Yeah, also new questline and instance, but that's part of the pre-expansion events.
ArPharazonV: And yeah, probably.
VardaValar1: Hope they didn't go too far.
ArPharazonV: Though they also removed the buff to the droprates of the questitems you need for the cloak... so if you were at the valor-part of the questline (which got removed in patch, equalizing a lot of people's quests I guess) it's going to be a matter of luck whether you get all the items in time.
ArPharazonV: So far my little warrior's still on schedule but a lot can go wrong.
ArPharazonV: Other than that, nothing new I think?

VardaValar1: Ok, Arien? You had a mention?
VardaValar1: Not sure if we're having bad lag or what.
VardaValar1: Arien mentioned the game coming out called "Shadows of Mordor".
VardaValar1: The ads look quite handsome.
AriehnV: a guy at work mentioned a game "shadows of mordor" on pc platform . i havent really had a chance to look at it i did a bit of a search on trhe web - they have a site but not much general inforation
VardaValar1: It's not an mmo.
AriehnV: from what the guy told me it is about gollums adventure in Mordor or at least from his perspective
ArPharazonV: Hmm, I've heard of it... but don't remember much.
AriehnV: its on PC platform , an rpg
AriehnV: i ve had a quick look at their site and it seems a bit like "Age of Dragons" you know where you had a lot of interacting with things on the net
VardaValar1: site: https://www.shadowofmordor.com/agegate/
AriehnV: "Dragonage*
VardaValar1: On wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle-earth:_Shadow_of_Mordor
PallandoValar: Er?
PallandoValar: Shadow of Mordo is a singleplayer thing, out now, there you are a Ranger.
VardaValar1: Aye, Ranger Talion, this says. The player can customize him. And enemies he meets will react to him later in accordance with how he handled them.
PallandoValar: It's got a very intracate system.
PallandoValar: Your deaths/the deaths of enemies create a sort of foe system.
PallandoValar: It's third person action controls.
ArPharazonV: Sounds very.. open.
VardaValar1: Not just enemies, it seems.
PallandoValar: Fairly open.
PallandoValar: Good review here: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/10/01/wot-i-think-so-far-middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor/
VardaValar1: Could get interesting.
AriehnV: do you know it Pallando?
PallandoValar: I followed the reviews and a few friends have it.
PallandoValar: Don't have the spare cash to pick it up right now myself.
PallandoValar: Hoping for a sale around Christmas. :-P
VardaValar1: A rezzed ranger bent on revenge? um
VardaValar1: Guess I think of rangers as protectors. Has to be an odd one, maybe.
VardaValar1: Do your friends enjoy it?
PallandoValar: Quite a lot, yes.
PallandoValar: Good gameplay, good replayablility, and the foe system really makes the victories so much sweeter.
PallandoValar: When you finally beat and kill that one Orc that's been killing you more often or not for most of the game..
VardaValar1: Looks nifty, but I don't really see why they tried to put it in Middle-earth. Could have just as easily made an original game out of it.
PallandoValar: Because WB has the license? :-P
ArPharazonV: Infested by a wraith, eh.. where have I seen something similar before....
VardaValar1: There's that. :-)
VardaValar1: hehe - they were reading our story!
AriehnV: hehe i wonder ^^
AriehnV: i think so :-P
ArPharazonV: If the guy's name had been Talaron instead of Talion, would've been even better!
ArPharazonV: But it was pretty close.
PallandoValar: None of the people I know who have played it are well versed in LotR canon, so I have no idea how closely it hews to 'real' Middle Earth.
VardaValar1: Nice tips on that page you showed, Pallando.
PallandoValar: RPS is one of my favorite gaming sites. :-)
VardaValar1: Sounds as if the player can get past a steep learning curve, it could be fun. A little buggy, but maybe they'll iron that out given time.
VardaValar1: Screenshot gallery. I wonder if these are just cinematics, or actually in-game?
VardaValar1: http://www.pcgamer.com/middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor-8k-screenshot-gallery/
ArPharazonV: Looks pretty fun, yes.
VardaValar1: Bunch look in-game
AriehnV: i like the guys style in which he writes the review
AriehnV: but yes sounds quite good
ArPharazonV: I think I see at least a few from in-game, yes, but might be cinematic shots too.
VardaValar1: Shouldn't be a problem with competing with LotR's eventual entry into Mordor. Looks quite different.
karakedi25 has entered the room.
karakedi25: aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Indis

VardaValar1: On to LotRO:
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
VardaValar1: Indis, any general news on LotRO to mention? :-)
karakedi25: beta for u15 is in its second round
VardaValar1: O good. :-)
karakedi25: I'm still working on my Beorning who is now at level 32
karakedi25: She's very tough, and I'm mastering the ins and out of making use of the skin-change
karakedi25: there are things she can do on the bear that she can't as a person, and vice versa
VardaValar1: Advanced type of class?
karakedi25: yes, it's considered advanced
VardaValar1: But you build up wrath on the person and explode it in bear-form?
karakedi25: it's 95% melee, so there's one ranged skill on the bear, and on the human, I use throwing axes to pull
karakedi25: yes, build on person and use up on bear
karakedi25: so there's a need to work out balance
VardaValar1: I'm a real bear when I'm angry. :-)
PallandoValar: /me boos
VardaValar1: hehee
PallandoValar: Punning is the lowest form of humor, you know.
VardaValar1: So they claim. :-) At least it's clean.
ArPharazonV: Gotta love being a bear. Been one in WoW for over 9 years!
VardaValar1: Indis, please go ahead.
karakedi25: I haven't been to Central Gondor yet. I need to do it before this round of beta ends (probably Monday)
karakedi25: but I'm enjoying the beorning
VardaValar1: Good to hear!
karakedi25: not much else to add

VardaValar1: SWTOR, D3 people still going. No general news from there.
VardaValar1: GW2 folks seem to be at it again, not showing up in LotRO that they were in for the summer.
VardaValar1: Any other general gaming news, suggestions, other business?
top

VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: Please feel free to use the Forum threads where we have Tolkien discussions and add to them. They never actually go old, because the books remain "current".
VardaValar1: Also please feel free to add to Sauron's evil overlord in retrospect list on our forum. It could get pretty funny.
VardaValar1: Or have some nice insights.
VardaValar1: Articles are the main staple of our Encyclopedia, served by the other parts such as art, or the insights that may be best made fictionally, or put in strong from in poetry.
VardaValar1: The articles are found several ways: A-Z, Subject, and Events. This lets each serve the others.
VardaValar1: The timeline for instance can have a list of Numenorean kings, each with what happened in his time and persons of note in that time. From there we can fan out to nearly anything.
VardaValar1: Annals of Arda by Elatan-(Valar), fka Amillo-(Valar), is mixed in with ours and vice versa. It's done according to family relationships, mainly, something we can also work with due to our system.
VardaValar1: Please feel free to jump in wherever your interests and skill set take you. I and others will be glad to help. :-)
VardaValar1: The kings don't have to just be Numenorean. They can also be elvish or other.
VardaValar1: Does this work for you, or too convoluted?
AriehnV: i mean its pretty hard to do a whole timeline
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/events/timeline/Complete_Chronology_of_First_Age.htm
VardaValar1: There's the general timeline. We can bounce off of it. :-)
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/events/events.htm
AriehnV: you d have to start in Aman , then Valinor, then Middleearth and then split Middlearth in Beleriand and that what remains after the sinking and from things happening there you d have to split again with the various races and kingdoms
VardaValar1: Right, and we did.
AriehnV: not to mention Numenor of course :-)
VardaValar1: From the timeline, we come out to the kings;
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/articles/k/kings/kingsMan.htm
ArPharazonV: Well it's a good thing we've got plenty of family trees crossing those realms in the books, then.
VardaValar1: The joys of having a 17 year old guild. :-)
VardaValar1: We have a lot already up. Nice to flesh it out. :-)
AriehnV: cool looks nice and lots of work
VardaValar1: Note the little links going out from that Events page go to some massive areas.
VardaValar1: Also the joy of having had many scholars over those 17 years. :-)
VardaValar1: All anyone has to do is find their favorite spot to play in and it can be included in the massive timeline.
VardaValar1: Maybe we can add a line of elven rulers as we did Numenoreans. It would be much shorter on the king names.
VardaValar1: A lot can be done with this still. JRRT and Chrisopher gave us a gigantic amount of the new mythology of England (and everywhere else!) to play with.
VardaValar1: So, just have fun with it and share your hobby with the rest of us here. :-)
VardaValar1: Any other comments? Suggestions for improving our attempt at presentation?
VardaValar1: It's pretty basic on the programming side, as Eonwe has pointed out, but I'm actually asking about content here.
VardaValar1: If something comes to mind later, please feel free to email me anytime. :-)
ArPharazonV: Can't complain. Big fan of timelines and chronicles myself.
ArPharazonV: Wouldn't know any better way to present it ;-)
VardaValar1: Great! You've proved that for sure.
VardaValar1: Then all we need to do is keep filling it in.
ArPharazonV: haha, true
VardaValar1: A lot of things can be added as quite short pieces. Together they add to a fantastic whole.
VardaValar1: If there are no other comments...?
VardaValar1: (More links defintely need added to the Events.)
VardaValar1: *picks through the hammers on the shelf and wall*
VardaValar1: *nice one from Elwing here...*
VardaValar1: *Thonnnnk!*
top

VardaValar1: After-meeting
VardaValar1: Feel free to chat freely. :-)
VardaValar1: Needs diacritical marks put in properly on the Events page. *scribbles note*
PallandoValar: This meeting actually reminded me about my Leithian project.
VardaValar1: Yay!
VardaValar1: How is that going?
PallandoValar: I've been so bus recently I haven't had the time to work on it.
PallandoValar: Trying to come up with some clever converter now..
VardaValar1: ouch. Here's hoping that time cooperates with you soon.
VardaValar1: You were working with Eonwe on that programming, I think?
PallandoValar: He gave me some css to start with.
PallandoValar: I have to work on the conversion.
VardaValar1: oh good!
PallandoValar: I'm reaching for a solution.. I might have it soon
ArPharazonV: Reach, mr. Frodo, reaaaach!
ArPharazonV: (movie-only, obviously)
VardaValar1: hehe
VardaValar1: Maybe some more brainstorming with Eonwe on that?
VardaValar1: Farmer Maggot used to be a good one to go to for things like that too. Might still be able to contact him.

ArPharazonV: Anyway! Personal gaming.
VardaValar1: (now working on the links in Events, and reading here)

ArPharazonV: Flashgaming... not much news. I mentioned the K.O.L.M. series a few weeks back, and found out this week that there was a midquel, where you have to beat several small challenges with the K.O.L.M. gameplay, each within a minute. Starts off easy, and eventually starts taking several tries where you have to be pretty optimal and know exactly where you have to go.
ArPharazonV: Not on the main flashgaming site I use, but I did find it on Armorgames at http://armorgames.com/play/10297/kolmiam
ArPharazonV: Also, have a new puzzle physics game in the Red Remover series: http://www.kongregate.com/games/TheGameHomepage/red-remover-blast
ArPharazonV: Clear the screen of red blocks by creating explosions with your mouse.
VardaValar1: Explosions, always popular. :-)

ArPharazonV: Hearthstone: All classes 29 now! Onwards to 30, and then I'll be halfway. Halfway in levels, anyway, though not in experience... it's probably going to take years to get them all to 60 at this rate!

ArPharazonV: Diablo: Season not over yet, which is good.... doing bounties in adventure mode instead of going through story mode certainly seems to speed up my levelling; I'm at 57 now and with some luck I'll reach 70 within a week.

ArPharazonV: WoW: with 6.0.2 came a change whereby you get a 100% guaranteed heirloom from Garrosh if you had not gotten one previously, so I finally got my heirloom tonight :-)
ArPharazonV: Still working on the legendary cloak with my warrior alt, and as I explained in detail to Varda earlier, the loss of the Wrathion buff means that it's a matter of luck (or RNG) whether I'll make it before they remove the questline in the expansion. I know a lot of people like me who were also in the 3-week valor-part of the questline that was removed in the patch, so we all continued from the same place, but even from there we need a 50% droprate on questitems on average to make it within the 4 weeks remaining.
ArPharazonV: And I think I read the standard droprate is 33% or so, which means it comes down to beating the odds and being luckier than the majority of other players doing the same thing. Still somewhat on schedule myself, but just one bad week can really stop the whole thing in its tracks.
ArPharazonV: Any of you out there in the same project, I wish you luck ;-)
ArPharazonV: I haven't done the pre-patch questline and new instance with my main yet. Figured I'd wait until it's not very crowded anymore, probably taking a look at it tomorrow.
ArPharazonV: And gotta work on collecting those candy buckets for Halloween, to be able to buy the two new pets :-)
AriehnV: i ve done the prepatch quests with most of my mains .. alts or whatver ^^
AriehnV: but partly because the rewards are mostly upgrades still for e :-)
ArPharazonV: True. With a heroic (now mythic) difficulty geared main, it takes a lot to be an upgrade for me.
ArPharazonV: The heirloom should help though!
ArPharazonV: Still worse than my mythic weapon right now, but being an heirloom, that should change as I level :-)
AriehnV: nice :-)
AriehnV: so its like the ones in Lotro the weapons that level up with the character
ArPharazonV: Yep. Heirlooms are account-bound weapons or other pieces of gear that you can freely trade between any character on your account on the same server, and they adapt themselves to the character's level.
ArPharazonV: Very useful for levelling your various characters :-)
AriehnV: in SwotR you have weapons that can be modified .. that is the weapon always remains the saim but the modifications and enhancements are various levels and it depends on those what level your weapon actually is if ithat makes sense
ArPharazonV: Hmmm, makes sense.
AriehnV: saim = same
ArPharazonV: Heirlooms actually improve their base stats though.
VardaValar1: I like equipment that's able to upgrade with you in some way.
ArPharazonV: Yes, it's a nice mechanic, makes you more attached to your weapon :-)
AriehnV: yip .. i like my blaster its quite nice trooper plays cool its more survivable than Jedis , althought the knight has more survivability than the sage hehe
karakedi25: LotRO's plans for imbuing legendary weapons so they will do exactly that sound very promising
VardaValar1: Huzzah!

PallandoValar: I'm gonna need lots of proofreading eyes on this afterwards..
karakedi25: on what?
VardaValar1: A Boy, A Girl, and A Dog :-)
karakedi25: Beren, Luthien and Huan?
ArPharazonV: walk into a bar..
ArPharazonV: Allright, time for some Diablo, see if we get another level.
VardaValar1: http://rustbucket.net/leithian/index.html
VardaValar1: hehe
karakedi25: Time for some dinner.
VardaValar1: mmm dinner
ArPharazonV: Oh, I was wrong earlier. I'm not 57, I'm 58. Even better!
AriehnV: enjoy :-)
ArPharazonV: Enjoy dinner!
VardaValar1: Grats :-)
karakedi25: A mere child
karakedi25: so, namarie mellyn
VardaValar1: Namarie meldo :-)
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
karakedi25 has left the room.
AriehnV: Namarie :-)
AriehnV has left the room.
VardaValar1: Belated namarie
ArPharazonV: Namarie Arien! Thought she might still be belatedly talking to Indis, so didn't see she was leaving too :-)
VardaValar1: Yay for transcripts :-)
VardaValar1: I need to go feed this mob on Taniquetil. Might enlist a few hundred Vanyar to aid.
VardaValar1: Namarie for now
ArPharazonV: Enjoy, Namarie!
VardaValar1: /afk
ArPharazonV: Ding, 59 :-)
PallandoValar: ..okay.
PallandoValar: Progress made
ArPharazonV: Great!
PallandoValar: okay.
ArPharazonV: Ding, level 60!

PallandoValar: I can convert all of the dialogue
ArPharazonV: Ah, great!
PallandoValar: for the pages that already have CSS
PallandoValar: I need to get eonwe to edit the CSS
PallandoValar: but it's a good start
ArPharazonV: aaaand 61, been a good session!
ArPharazonV: So next step is up to Eonwe again? :-)
PallandoValar: yes-ish
PallandoValar: I can convert the CSS
PallandoValar: now I need to see if I can convert the hand-rolled stuff..
PallandoValar: this will be.. more complex.
PallandoValar: weeeell
PallandoValar: maybe not
PallandoValar: let's see how clever I am
ArPharazonV: hehe
PallandoValar: okay, might only be slightly more complex..
PallandoValar: oh of course there'd be a one-off exception in my sample..
PallandoValar: also
PallandoValar: who wants to read a novel a few times!?
ArPharazonV: Tolkien? All of us? ;-)
ArPharazonV: Well, depends on who has time I guess
PallandoValar: I'm going to need multiple sets of eyes to go over this carefully onces it's done.
PallandoValar: We can split the work up, obviously
PallandoValar: but even individual scenes are long..
PallandoValar: act IV part III is.. 15000 lines, though the lines are limited to 80 characters long and the speakers are on seperate lines, so.. probably realisticly like 4-6000 lines.
PallandoValar: still though
PallandoValar: that's one part
PallandoValar: Guesstimate, there's somwhere between 40,000 and 80,000 lines to be proffread.
PallandoValar: proofread
PallandoValar: after I finish this.
ArPharazonV: pooh
PallandoValar: It's not really proofread though, sorta
PallandoValar: it's going through with the original copy on one side and my edited copy on the other
PallandoValar: and making sure that lines of dialogue are formatted right, that I didn't make some disappear or make it look like one character is speaking when another is..
ArPharazonV: So compare the thing and look for errors.
PallandoValar: yup
PallandoValar: but.. on somwehre arund 60,000 lines
PallandoValar: so
PallandoValar: yay
ArPharazonV: Throw it on the forum, you might get some response there.
PallandoValar: yeah
PallandoValar: once Eonwe and I get the formatting sorted, I will
PallandoValar: I mean, it's not like this has a deadline.
ArPharazonV: Indeed.
PallandoValar: And I can totally just post each bit as it's done.
PallandoValar: Once 5 people have signed off on it, throw it up.
PallandoValar: and if it takes a year to do, so be it.
ArPharazonV: hehe
PallandoValar: I've been "working" on this for.. 3 years, now.
PallandoValar: (aka I do a whole bunch of work about once a year and then forget about it)
ArPharazonV: heh
ArPharazonV: sounds a bit like our forum rp
PallandoValar: okay, so, I can isolate each bit of dialogue
ArPharazonV: "You can't lose stars at this rank." Wonderful, I've hit the absolute bottom in Hearthstone ranking again...
PallandoValar: let's see if I can edit the formatting properly.. this will be tricky..
PallandoValar: uuuuuugggggggghhhh
PallandoValar: non-trivial
ArPharazonV: Not going well?
PallandoValar: that's how to describe this
PallandoValar: I just.. ugg.
ArPharazonV: ugg... isn't that a slipper or something?
PallandoValar: It seems like it should be straightforward.
PallandoValar: But catching all of the different cases and intelligently dealing with them turns out to be harder than expected..
PallandoValar: okay
PallandoValar: so
PallandoValar: I have it _mostly_ good
PallandoValar: but there's a bunch of special exceptions I need to account for, some of which I'll undoubtedly miss
PallandoValar: but.. I have a good start
PallandoValar: NOOOOOOO
PallandoValar: I don't have a good start
PallandoValar: welp
PallandoValar: I have an okay start.
PallandoValar: ..the not-tricky parts are done. :|
PallandoValar: well
PallandoValar: some of the tricky stuff is done
PallandoValar: but.. there's going to be a loooot of manula tweaking.
PallandoValar: manual
ArPharazonV: sounds tricky
PallandoValar: it is
PallandoValar: as I find patterns I can add them
PallandoValar: I've already added a few
PallandoValar: but it's goign to be a whole lot of work.
PallandoValar: and it's tricky enough to do just the dialogue
PallandoValar: every scene change throws it off and has to be done by hand
PallandoValar: I don't know if it's worth the effort to detect scene changes
PallandoValar: NOPE
PallandoValar: I'll just do sections at a time
PallandoValar: labor-intensive, but not nearly as bad as doing the whole thing by hand
PallandoValar: so there's that..
PallandoValar: and I can do some minor automation there
PallandoValar: actually, just error handling.
PallandoValar: oooh, getting better
PallandoValar: heh
PallandoValar: found three typos in the text itself, doing this.
ArPharazonV: Ah, but if you remove those, it won't be the original work.
PallandoValar: Huan -- unsurprisingly, frankly -- being a dog that doesn't speak, likes to mess everything up.
PallandoValar: So.. any time he's there I'm going to have to fix that by hand.
PallandoValar: Easy fix though, just copy-paste two lines.
PallandoValar: Okay
PallandoValar: I've tried a few dozen lines
PallandoValar: I've tried a few hundred
PallandoValar: 5000 lines
PallandoValar: go
PallandoValar: ~5000 lines actually amounts to ~2300 lines, and that's with each speaker on their own line
PallandoValar: so my estimate earlier was pretty spot on
PallandoValar: little high, maybe
ArPharazonV: anyway, saving and sending transcript
