Found in the troll-cave with Glamdring and Orcrist,
Sting
was probably forged in Gondolin for the Goblin-wars. It was taken from
the cave by Bilbo, and was passed on to Frodo before the Fellowship
started from Rivendell.
Sting glows with a pale light in the presence
of goblins and cuts with an unnatural sharpness, as shown in its
ability to slice through the webs of Shelob.
