Hama was a man of Rohan and the doorward of King Theoden. He took the weapons of Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, and Gimli at the doors of Meduseld, but made the "mistake" to not take Gandalf's staff, a blessing in the end.
He was the captain of the King's Guard in the Battle of the Hornburg, but was slain defending the gate of the Hornburg. He was given a single grave near the ramp leading to the gate he defended until the end.
