Finduilas, Daughter
of Adrahil
Mankind
> Finduilas
Finduilas was the daughter of Adrahil
of Dol Amroth. In 2976, she was married to Denethor
II, the last ruling Steward of Gondor. She was the mother of Boromir
and
Faramir.
Finduilas was a beautiful and gentle-hearted woman. She had a
beautiful, blue mantle set with silver stars around the hem and collar,
which Faramir gave to Eowyn
during his stay in the House of Healing. Faramir speaks fondly of
Finduilas and describes her as "a memory of loveliness in far days" and
remembers the grief he felt upon her "untimely" death. She died
in 2988, twelve years after marrying Denethor. It was said that
she was unhappy in Minas
Tirith and longed to be near the sea that she loved.
