Fifth son of Fëanor, called the Crafty (called after his father, whose alias birthname was also Curufinwë) (mother’s name Atarinkë: “little father”), and very much like his father in talent and temper. Always to be found at the side of his brother Celegorm.
Trying to keep his father’s Oath, Curufin turned into probably the most evil of the sons of Fëanor. He was an elf of devious cunning. His character is best portrayed by the fact that after being spared by Beren – as Luthien forbade his slaying – Curufin “being filled with shame and malice”, took the bow of Celegorm, and shot back as they went; and the arrow was aimed at Luthien”. Eventually he was killed in the attack on Dior Eluchil in Doriath.

Curufin in Quenya is Kurufinwe,  Feanor's own name of "skilled finwe". Mother name Atarinke meaning "little father", Curufin was alike to his father in mood, temper, and skill, Feanor's favorite son
