[1:53 AM]Eönwë Valar: Happy 27th Anniversary!
[8:10 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Happy anniversary!
[9:36 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: PM'd my artpiece to Varda!
[9:44 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Perhaps not my most complex piece, but I couldn't stop smiling while making it
[9:52 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: K, back in a few hours.
[11:05 AM]Varda: The art is a fun piece!
[11:05 AM]Varda: Happy 27th Anniversary, Valar Guild!
[11:06 AM]Varda: Our horse rides and fireworks start on LotRO Landroval server at noon and again at 5 P.M. Eastern outside Bree's West Gate. If you're late, come anyway and be welcome! We may be able to summon. Grab your stashed fireworks to use and share. Fainan has sharables too, so don't worry if you have none.
[11:06 AM]Varda: Type /servertime in LotRO to find out the time in Eastern to help translate time zones.
[11:06 AM]Varda: (I should have been in meeting_place instead of Harbor on Discord, pardon.
[11:06 AM]Varda: Fangorn and I are at the Bree West Gate.
[11:09 AM]Treebeard: Does "meeting_place" not show members?
[11:09 AM]Eönwë Valar: I'm going to try and make the 5pm if I can.
[11:14 AM]Varda: Ok, Eonwe
[11:17 AM]Varda: Click Member List at the top right on Discord to see them.
[11:45 AM]Varda: This is /dance_elf4
[11:51 AM]Varda: This is /heropose
[12:11 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: back, enjoy the festivities in there
[12:19 PM]Treebeard: Welcome back 12:19 PM]Treebeard: Welcome back
[12:19 PM]Treebeard: Yay festivities
[(funny animation for festivities)
[12:38 PM]Treebeard: I don't think I like the animation going on and on and on
[12:39 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I like how there's 2 different blinks in the cycle.
[12:39 PM]Treebeard: That does make it less repettitive
[1:43 PM]Varda: Fangorn and I tried some experimental stuff. Some of it we'll pull again on the 5 p.m. run.
[3:41 PM]Eönwë Valar: YouTube - good news everyone! (Futurama)
[3:44 PM]Eönwë Valar: YouTube - Send me an angel"
[3:54 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: There, did all Delves at least once, and got all the sturdy chests as I went. Seeker of Loot title!
[3:55 PM]Eönwë Valar: Congrats :}
[3:55 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Thanks
[3:55 PM]Eönwë Valar: I'm not sure I've got that yet, pretty sure I've done every Delve at least once but I can't swear to it, but I know I'm up to Tier 7 on them.
[3:56 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Last 2 were Tier 5. Had some trouble with the bosses at my ilevel so I won't try 6 yet.
[3:57 PM]Varda: Evening run: So far: Nar, Eonwe, and Varda
[3:57 PM]Eönwë Valar: It does give you the recommended ilvl for each delve tier when you select it, btw.
[3:57 PM]Varda: 27th Anniversary of the Valar Guild, Year 2024
[3:58 PM]Varda: Art from Phar is up. : )
[3:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm, I know. Tier 5 recommended is already at least 10 ilevels above mine It works if you're careful.
[3:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Yay!
[3:58 PM]Eönwë Valar: hehe
[3:58 PM]Eönwë Valar: Nice art :}
[3:59 PM]Varda: Join fellow, please, Auros. : )
[3:59 PM]Eönwë Valar: If you're managing that, congrats. I've been a bit wary to try Tier 8 because it was about 5 ilvls above me. All I need to replace for blues is my gloves now, so maybe I'll give it a shot anyway.
[4:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Make sure to pull carefully, dodge stuff, and interrupt when needed And don't be discouraged. The Spiral Weave boss took me 3 tries.
[4:02 PM]Treebeard: Hello
[4:09 PM]Varda: Anyone else headed to Bree? We're wanting to start.
[4:49 PM]Eönwë Valar: YouTube - Linkin Park - Heavy Is the Crown
[6:00 PM]Eönwë Valar: Any child of the 80s should know this song, just not as it's done by this singer: YouTube - Peggy Lee "Why Don't You Do Right"
[6:20 PM]Varda: We had a good 5 pm run with Eonwe, Fangorn, Nar, Mirabella, myself, and two guild-friends Xaviervonhoot and Kelliewyn.
October 5, 2024
[4:05 AM]Eönwë Valar: Ok, don't have the seeer of loot title, but I completed a T8 at 2 ilvl below the recommended (I was careful). Still no new gloves. Having too much fun with Delves, wary of the nerf bat, heh.
[4:07 AM]Eönwë Valar: Looks like Templar Rets are getting some buffs with maintenance though, so I wonder how that'll work out.
[4:12 AM]Eönwë Valar: Looks like Tier 8 is where you start getting the Hero level upgrade crests.
[7:34 PM]Varda: 27th Anniversary of the Valar Guild
[7:34 PM]Varda: The page now has screenshots for both rides, emailed in by Fangorn. Enjoy!
October 6, 2024
[3:37 PM]Eönwë Valar: 23 minutes to the meeting.
[4:00 PM]Eönwë Valar: Heya.

[4:03 PM]Eönwë Valar: Membership:
[4:04 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V:
[4:04 PM]Eönwë Valar: For the attendance, everyone who is here, say Mereth.
[4:04 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Mereth
[4:06 PM]Eönwë Valar: I guess it's just me and Phar? :}
[4:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Two's company?
[4:07 PM]Eönwë Valar: Hehe, guess so.
[4:07 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya All!
[4:07 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!
[4:08 PM]Eönwë Valar: Heya Sandalf.
[4:08 PM]Léod: I'm here.
[4:08 PM]Léod: Mereth
[4:09 PM]Eönwë Valar: That's 3 Mereths. Can I get a fourth? :}
[4:10 PM]Sandalf13: Mereth
[4:10 PM]Eönwë Valar: For those who aren't famliar with the word, Mereth means "Feast" in Elvish. Since today is the Anniversary Meeting, that's why it's today's special word.
[4:11 PM]Sandalf13: What are7 we feasting on, besides delicious talk and commentary about he LoTR?
[4:11 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: noms Chinese dinner
[4:12 PM]Eönwë Valar: Fresh lobster over there, fresh mushrooms on the other end, fresh veggies at the salad bar, and Mastodon steaks are still on the grill.
[4:12 PM]Sandalf13: Sounds delicious....can you send some this way?
[4:13 PM]Sandalf13: I am looking at leftover chicken and salad...
[4:13 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm, mastodon... let's talk about the elephant in the room.
[@Ar-Pharazon-V
[Hmm, mastodon... let's talk about the elephant in the room.
[4:13 PM]Eönwë Valar: Sure was tasty, wasn't it?
[4:14 PM]Eönwë Valar: Ok, so for the Attendance: Eonwë, Phar, Leod, Sandalf.
[4:14 PM]Eönwë Valar: Varda is unable to make it to the meeting today.
[4:15 PM]Eönwë Valar: She and Fangorn are going to see Elwing and her brother DeepGroover-T, as their mother just passed away. Varda and Elwing go way back.
[4:16 PM]Eönwë Valar: Any other Membership News?
[4:16 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Condolences.
[4:16 PM]Sandalf13: Indeed.
[4:17 PM]Sandalf13: Speaking of mastodon...the Russian scientists who discovered a frozen mammoth in the Siberian wasteland actually cooked up some of the steaks, and reporthed that they tasted like chicken.
[4:17 PM]Sandalf13: Tis was back in the 19th Century.
[4:18 PM]Eönwë Valar: I imagine a few million years of freezer burn can alter the taste.
[4:18 PM]Léod: Ew
[4:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: hehe
[4:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I imagine people have eaten elephant before.
[4:18 PM]Eönwë Valar: I imagine there's not a creature or plant on the planet we haven't tried to eat at some point.
[4:19 PM]Eönwë Valar: If we haven't eaten it, we haven't found it.
[4:19 PM]Sandalf13: One reason humans are so good at populating the Earth....
[4:19 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: If Jurassic Park actually happened, the first thing we'd try to do is eat the dinosaurs.
[4:20 PM]Eönwë Valar: We'd probably start with the brontosaurus.
[4:21 PM]Eönwë Valar: We'd eat some, then others we'd turn into household appliances. Waits to see who gets it.
[4:21 PM]Sandalf13: For information purposes only, the Brontosaurus was originally misnamed, and consisted of parts of several Sauropods. We now have fancier names, like Diplodocus, and so on...for the many species within the genus.
[4:21 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm, Apatosaurus was part of it, I know that.
[4:21 PM]Sandalf13: Yes. Also Titanosaurus.
[4:22 PM]Eönwë Valar: Hmm, I recall reading something that revalidated the Brontosaurus. Now I want to see if I can find it again.
[4:22 PM]Sandalf13: Please let me know if you do!
[4:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: As for the reference, Flintstones comes to mind.
[4:23 PM]Eönwë Valar: Good :}
[4:23 PM]Eönwë Valar: Last bit before moving on to web:
[4:23 PM]Arien Valar: A quick aiya from Germany
[4:24 PM]Eönwë Valar: Guten Tag, Fraulein Arien :}

[4:44 PM]Eönwë Valar: Lord of the Rings Online:
[4:45 PM]Eönwë Valar: This week's sneak peek was Urash Dar.
[4:45 PM]Eönwë Valar: Legacy of Morgoth (the next expansion) is expected to launch this fall.
[4:46 PM]Eönwë Valar: Here's an FAQ for it:
[4:46 PM]Eönwë Valar: Update 41.3 came out this week.
[4:47 PM]Eönwë Valar: Any other gaming news?
[4:48 PM]Léod: Well, you can preorder Legacy of Morgoth now if that's your bag.
[4:49 PM]Léod: Several editions each with stuff depending on which one you buy. There are several vids on Youtube which allow you to see all of the cosmetics.
[4:49 PM]Eönwë Valar: Right now I prefer to wait until the Ultimate Edition is half off or more during the Black Friday sale they have. Means I'm usually a couple of expansions behind, but c'est la vie.
[4:50 PM]Léod: My main is still on the Shield Isles, so I'm right there with ya.
[4:54 PM]Eönwë Valar: Ok, if no other gaming news...
[4:54 PM]Eönwë Valar: YouTube - And Now here's something we hope you'll really like
[4:55 PM]Eönwë Valar: Tolkien:
[4:56 PM]Eönwë Valar: So because we have three themes, we're going to have three topics.
[4:57 PM]Eönwë Valar: Let's start with Lights. The easy ones are the Two Lamps, The Two Trees, the Sun and Moon, the Stars. Let's talk about other sources of light.
[4:57 PM]Eönwë Valar: Can we find any?
[4:58 PM]Eönwë Valar: Candles?
[4:58 PM]Sandalf13: Galadriel's phial gift to Frodo
[4:58 PM]Eönwë Valar: Did the Noldor in Rivendell have hydroelectricity?
[4:58 PM]Léod: Fire in general plays a big part in the LotR.
[4:58 PM]Sandalf13: That captures of light of Earendil's start
[4:58 PM]Eönwë Valar: Good one, Sandalf.
[4:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The Silmarilli.
[4:58 PM]Eönwë Valar: Fire and Silmarilli, good ones.
[4:59 PM]Sandalf13: The Noldor lamps that lit the way for Tuor through the tunnel to the sea...(Gelmir's lamp)
[4:59 PM]Eönwë Valar: What that the Sil or the UT version, Sandalf?
[4:59 PM]Léod: The Nazgul were warded off with fire that Aragorn wielded. The One Ring could only reveal it's secrets with fire, and only be destroyed by one particular source of fire.
[5:00 PM]Léod: Also Anduril was called the Light of the West, wasn't it?
[5:00 PM]Sandalf13: I think it had to be the UT version, because that was far more detailed regarding Tuor's story than the Sil....
[5:00 PM]Spidey (Ungwetari/Shelob): Good morrow!
[5:00 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!
[5:00 PM]Eönwë Valar: Flame of the West, but that was more reflected light. Didn't make its own.
[5:00 PM]Sandalf13: AIya Spidey!
[5:00 PM]Eönwë Valar: Having said that, Elvish swords glowing near orcs. I'd count that as a source of light.
[5:00 PM]Spidey (Ungwetari/Shelob): I feel like at 00:00 exactly I am allowed to say Good Morrow, right?
[5:01 PM]Léod: Ok, thanks for the correction, I had a brain lapse. I have to go for now. I'll try to check out meeting_place as the week progresses.
[@Spidey (Ungwetari/Shelob)
[I feel like at 00:00 exactly I am allowed to say Good Morrow, right?
[5:01 PM]Eönwë Valar: YouTube - Robin Hood: Men in Tights - Hey Abbott!
[5:01 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie Leod!
[5:01 PM]Léod: Namarie!
[5:01 PM]Eönwë Valar: Take care Leod. Thanks for coming :}
[5:02 PM]Spidey (Ungwetari/Shelob): Namaríe!
[5:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!
[5:03 PM]Eönwë Valar: Any other lights anyone can think of?
[5:03 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The Elven Rings had a way of glowing, or that might have been special reflection.
[5:04 PM]Eönwë Valar: Did they use oil lamps? I feel like there was a mention of that somewhere in there.
[5:04 PM]Eönwë Valar: Old enough "technology" at least.
[5:05 PM]Eönwë Valar: Don't recall the Elven Rings glowing, no.
[5:05 PM]Sandalf13: What about the glowing urns of something (Water?) in Fangorn's cave home? They certainly glowed...
[5:05 PM]Eönwë Valar: Don't have my book in front of me to check that one, but sounds right.
[5:05 PM]Sandalf13: I will get mine...hang on a sec r two
[5:07 PM]Eönwë Valar: Fireworks are a source of light. Should we count the explosion at Helm's Deep as well? Side note: kind of interesting to get both sides of that particular knowledge there, used by two wizards to accomplish different goals.
[5:07 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hah, true.
[5:08 PM]Eönwë Valar: I'll throw in the Will-o-the-wisps in the Dead Marshes as well.
[5:08 PM]Sandalf13:
"Treebeard raised himself from his bed with a jerk, stood up, and thumped his hand on the table. THE VESSELS OF LIGHT trembled and sent up two jets of flame...."[5:08 PM]Eönwë Valar: Interesting, Treebeard using something that can send up jets of flame. Definitely need to reread that portion.
[5:10 PM]Eönwë Valar: Any other lights? Last call.
[5:10 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: You no take candle!
[5:10 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Sorry, kobold delve in progress.
[5:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: I took the candle.
[5:13 PM]Eönwë Valar: Ok, on to Potables. Drinks. Tasty (or not so tasty) beverages.
[5:13 PM]Sandalf13: Beer
[5:13 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Wine!
[5:13 PM]Sandalf13: Ent drink (Ent water)
[5:13 PM]Eönwë Valar: Orc draught
[5:15 PM]Eönwë Valar: The Elves had a clear drink they served Frodo and the Hobbits on the borders of the Shire.
[5:15 PM]Sandalf13: Fruit drinks in Rivendell
[5:16 PM]Eönwë Valar: Miruvor.
[5:16 PM]Eönwë Valar: Distinct from the aforementioned fruit drinks.
[5:16 PM]Sandalf13: Tasty beverages in the House of Tom Bombadil
[5:16 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: River water, though not every river is recommended
[5:16 PM]Eönwë Valar: Indeed.
[5:16 PM]Sandalf13: One would not want to drink of the waters flowing out of Morgul Vale, zum beispiel!
[5:17 PM]Eönwë Valar: Or the Enchanted River in Mirkwood.
[5:17 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Wasn't there something like that about the river in the Old Forest as well?
[5:17 PM]Eönwë Valar: Not that I recall.
[5:18 PM]Sandalf13: Nor I.
[5:18 PM]Sandalf13: I suppose that MEAD can be considered a different drink than beer, and so the Beornings had an abundance of mead.
[5:19 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Beorn did have bees.
[5:19 PM]Sandalf13: Lots and lots of bees...and bears like bees.
[5:19 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Honey mead is a thing
[5:19 PM]Sandalf13: At least their honey....
[5:19 PM]Sandalf13: Yes it is!
[5:19 PM]Sandalf13: That is what mead is made from!
[5:19 PM]Eönwë Valar: Quick from Google:
"Mead is an alcoholic beverage made from fermenting honey while beer is made fermenting hops and malt (grains) Mead is made largely from honey, and beer is made from grains. Mead is gluten-free, whereas beer is not gluten-free."
[5:20 PM]Eönwë Valar: So I'd say it's fair to say mead is different from beer like beer is different from wine.
[5:20 PM]Sandalf13: And Miruvor was probably some kind if distilled wine or doubly distilled fruit brandy...
[5:21 PM]Eönwë Valar: For fun, another quick from Google on the Definition of "Cordial" in relation to our discussion:
[5:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Any mention of milk?
[5:22 PM]Eönwë Valar: Miruvor is called the "Cordial of Rivendell" at one point.
[5:23 PM]Eönwë Valar: You know, I was actually making a list of these at one point. Let me get it out and we'll see how many we hit, heh.
[5:23 PM]Sandalf13: After a fancy dinner, my Father would often end the meal with a taste of fruit flavored liqueur....always tasty...and yes, when think of Miruvor, I think of liqueur...
[5:24 PM]Sandalf13: Or my old, traditional favorite: Slivovitz
[5:24 PM]Eönwë Valar: My List (in progress) says Mentioned in FotR are: Tea, Wine, Beer, Brandy, the drink Gildor gave the Hobbits as previously mentioned "clear, pale golden drink, scent of honey", ale, and milk.
[5:25 PM]Eönwë Valar: I feel like coffee was mentioned somewhere in LotR, but not recalling where off the top of my head.
[5:25 PM]Sandalf13: One needs a cast iron stomach to slug Slivovitz.
[5:26 PM]Eönwë Valar: OK, we're scraping the bottom of the barrel (if it counts as a pun, I'll take it), so let's move to
[5:26 PM]Eönwë Valar: Eucatastrophe -> Sudden upturn of good. Easy one is the destruction of the Ring.
[5:27 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Miruvor... ever since that one Fellowship video game I remember it as a drink to give Gandalf more mana
[5:27 PM]Eönwë Valar: Heh, I know that one you're talking about.
[5:27 PM]Eönwë Valar: Too bad I ran out trying to use magic on the Watcher in the Water, heh.
[5:27 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Heh.
[5:27 PM]Sandalf13: I don't suppose the Watcher in the Water was easily tamed by magic...
[5:29 PM]Eönwë Valar: Nope. Don't remember how I beat it exactly at this point.
[5:29 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: There was one phase, at least, where you had to shoot tentacles with Aragorn.
[5:29 PM]Eönwë Valar: That sounds familiar.
[5:30 PM]Eönwë Valar: OK, so I only have a few minutes left. Can we name any other Eucatastropic moments besides the destruction of the Ring and the coming of the Eagles to save Frodo and Sam?
[5:30 PM]Eönwë Valar: Does Tom Bombadil's appearance in the Old Forest and at the Barrow Downs count? Why or why not?
[5:32 PM]Sandalf13: The Eagles saving Gandalf and 13 Dwarves and One Hobbit from the trees...
[5:32 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Barrow Downs, definitely.
[5:32 PM]Sandalf13: The Beornings arriving at the Battle of Five Armies (Along with their Eagle buddies)
[5:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The arrival of Gandalf and knights and trees at Helm's Deep.
[5:34 PM]Eönwë Valar: It was just Beorn as I recall, at the Battle of Five Armies.
[5:34 PM]Sandalf13: Even so...it was eucatastrophic
[5:34 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Beorn and eagles, yes.
[5:34 PM]Eönwë Valar: Tom Bambadil joining in the War of the Ring dancing around the battlefield knocking back orcs. What? What do you mean that was only in Battle For Middle-Earth 2? :}
[5:35 PM]Sandalf13: What?
[5:35 PM]Eönwë Valar: Oh goody, now I get to find a youtube clip, heh.
[5:35 PM]Sandalf13: Can't wait to see it...
[5:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I remember
[5:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: He can dance if he wants to.
[5:36 PM]Eönwë Valar: He can leave his friends behind. Cause his friends don't dance, and if they don't dance...
[5:37 PM]Eönwë Valar: Ok, this looks like a good one: YouTube - x3run4funx - Tom Bombadil dedykacja
[5:37 PM]Eönwë Valar: And I think i'll let that be the note to end the meeting on, heh.
[5:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Nah, I gotta find the correct one now
[5:39 PM]Sandalf13: What a note....
[5:39 PM]Eönwë Valar: Bonus: I'll throw this one in: YouTube --[graphire4] - Tom Bombadil song
[5:39 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, that's definitely the Fellowship game
[5:39 PM]Eönwë Valar: Bangs Gavel
[5:39 PM]Eönwë Valar: Aftermeeting:
[5:39 PM]Sandalf13:
[5:40 PM]Eönwë Valar: Happy 27th Anniversary all. Thanks for coming, thanks for staying, thanks for being you :}
[5:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Not sure where the original's gone, but...
[5:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: YouTube - Bliringor - Sauron ed il suo esercito (s)ballano con Tom bombadil
[1
[5:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: That's the one I was looking for.
[5:40 PM]Sandalf13: Thank you! It is a pleasure to attend the weekly Valar Guild online meetings...I look forward to each one...largely because of people like you...
[5:41 PM]Sandalf13: portugese?
[5:41 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Especially from about 40 seconds in!
[5:41 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Well, yes, but that's not relevant. I don't remember if the original was posted in English.
[5:44 PM]Eönwë Valar: Oh lord.
[5:44 PM]Sandalf13: We can dance!! Whoopeeee!
[5:44 PM]Eönwë Valar: Phar wins.
[5:44 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: \o/
[5:44 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie for now...got to get some outdoor work done while the sun is still shining on a beautiful Fall afternoon...
[5:44 PM]Eönwë Valar: First place ribbon for you.
[5:45 PM]Eönwë Valar: Take care Sandalf.
[5:45 PM]Sandalf13: Bis spaeter!
[5:45 PM]Eönwë Valar: And I need to be off as well. Take care all, good night, sleep well, and have fun.
[5:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie! To both!
[5:45 PM]Eönwë Valar: I'll let people watch yours to figure out why it wins, heh.
[5:49 PM]Eönwë Valar: Oh no, I just got a horrible idea for a hilarious story for eucatastrophe. I don't know if I can do it.
[5:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Just... the casual way he knocks over that tree...
[8:57 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya Ar!
[9:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya! Just got back from getting some fruit from the kitchen And spent some time in the last hour playing through the game I'm going to link!
[9:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: So... personal gaming report!
[9:02 PM]Sandalf13: Sounds tasty?
[9:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: For (non)flashgaming, here's Kongregate - The Darkside Detective Demo
[9:03 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: A point and click detective game, where you solve spooky cases by navigating through a building, talking to people, and finding items to use.
[9:04 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Not very long, not overly difficult, and as it's a demo, only the first 2 cases are available. But those at least are fun enough to do
[9:05 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also some satirical humor, but also lots of cultural references!
[9:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And if you really love and want the full game, I'm sure it's available somewhere, like on Steam.
[9:07 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Blizzard gaming:
[9:10 PM]Sandalf13: Well...I tried the game...can't figure out what to do. I into the study, with the grandfather clock, but cannot figure out how to proceed. Oh well. Another game that has beat me to the draw.
[9:10 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: You can click on the doors to go through them?
[9:11 PM]Sandalf13: I did like the rain effect outside at the start...very effective at setting tbhe stage...and yes, I clicked on the door to the study and got into the room with the grandfather clock.
[9:12 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: As I recall, there's more doors to go through, and you can go up the stairs from the living room to find more rooms.
[9:14 PM]Sandalf13: I just got a blacklight ball! Whoooopeeeee.
[9:14 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hearthstone: Level 108 on the reward track now! New hero skin reward choice at 100, and I got Crystalforge Uther, the paladin one, apparently based on the tier 5 sets.
[9:14 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hah, progress
[9:15 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Still working on the quest event, and got a new version of the Coin, the Mudan Coin. Last 2 rewards will be more skins.
[9:16 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Brawl is All-Star Squad: Choose a card, you'll get 22 copies and 8 random class cards for your class. Basically, spam the same card over and over
[9:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: There's lots of interesting and broken combinations, such as a priest minion that grows in strength for each one of them you play... personally I went for a mage deck with the Ignite spell, which does damage and then shuffles an upgraded version of itself into your deck. It doesn't have a lot of tempo, but I like seeing it slowly grow in power, and actually managed to win 2 games with it.
[9:20 PM]Sandalf13:
[9:21 PM]Sandalf13: It was a dark and stormy night....
[9:21 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Warcraft Rumble: An update happened, which among other things reorganized the sigil reward track. It took the legendary cores out of the running, but did give a lot of tomes and other stuff, retroactively giving them to the player on first login after the change.
[9:21 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also, a new event is now going on for the new Cenarion leader, Ysera. Lots of challenges to complete for currency which you can use in a reward track to get Ysera herself, several Cenarion stars, tomes, gold, and finally a legendary core. Which has just become rarer
[9:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The challenges focus on Ysera herself and her special abilities, which includes putting various new minis and spells rotating in your deck.
[9:23 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'm doing quite well there, focusing on her for arcane surges, quests and pvp, and have already worked my way down the reward track and am now saving for the Core.
[9:24 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In the dungeon, I've completed level 21 with Cairne, the horde leader. In the Blackrock week, I've been trying level 22 with Drakkisath, but no luck there.
[9:27 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And in the heroic sigil campaign, I've now completed Shadowclaw and Lady Vespira with 5 families, getting me to 115 sigils and completing the Darkshore zone. Next zone is Thousand Needles, starting with Na'shala the Sandweaver. Tricky fight, since all your minis are in mirage mode, making them rather squishy. I managed with alliance family after a few tries, but might need to make special decks for the other families to get through this one. Ranged units should help!
[9:27 PM]Sandalf13: Cairne the Horde Leader?
[9:28 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Warcraft Rumble - Cairne Bloodhoof
[9:30 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Anyway, for the collection and rarity upgrades, not much news; I did get Ysera through the reward track, got enough stars to get her to uncommon, and got the Recurring Dream talent for her, making her special minis show up twice more often. Not only pretty powerful, but also useful to work on the challenges
[9:30 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: As well as getting the Skeletons to Rare quality and getting their second talent.
[9:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: With all the tomes retroactively granted to me from the sigil track update, a few minis are making the long trek through level 18 and are now actually approaching 19. Might not be long before a new collection level is reached!
[9:34 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Diablo 4: Did a lot of that! Got all the seasonal quests done with my new barbarian, though I had some help from a friend in collecting all the Mother's Gifts required to unlock all the quests. I got most of the quests unlocked through farming Breaches, but for the last stretch of 1000, that help came in handy. She also got all the way to level 50 in the process, completing some class quests, getting a lot of good gear, and unlocking some free appearances through the early part of the season's reward track. Reward tracks in every game!
[9:35 PM]Sandalf13: Great news!
[9:36 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And luckily, with the seasonal questline done, I'm on time before the season ends in a few days, as the new expansion arrives on the 8th of this month, and season 6 with it I hope to be able to spend some time on the new campaign, at least!
[9:36 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: WoW:
[9:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: This was the last week without raiding, hopefully! As of tonight my ilevel should be good enough to join in the next reset.
[9:38 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Got enough coins by the end of Brewfest to buy the new cloak appearance, which I put on my pandaren brewmaster
[9:38 PM]Sandalf13: I hope so.
[9:38 PM]Sandalf13: Maybe post a picture of your avatar sometime?
[9:39 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: is the brewmaster in question, though just one of my many alternate characters And you can't even see the cloak!
[World of Warcraft
[Calfusius - Character - WoW
[Calfusius (Argent Dawn) (The High Guard) - 10 Pandaren Brewmaster Monk, 5 ilvl
[9:39 PM]Sandalf13: Pretty awesome looking dude...but is he wearing glasses?
[9:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Yes, a few types of glasses were introduced a couple of years ago as appearances for your helmets/headpieces, and this seemed to fit him
[9:40 PM]Sandalf13: They do look good....
[9:40 PM]Sandalf13: IF he is an elder, does he also need a hearing aid?
[9:41 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Maybe his panda ears are good enough!
[9:41 PM]Sandalf13: This one does, and will soon be getting a pair of top-notch aids courtesy of the Veterans Administration!
[9:41 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah, grats!
[9:42 PM]Sandalf13: They are supposed to be unobtrusive, and are not particularly powerful, as my hearing is not so bad, as of yet. It has not changed over the course of the last four years...but I do have trouble with conversations with women and young children when there is background noise.
[9:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah, a problem with higher pitch, then?
[9:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also, just for fun, Calimbar is also wearing glasses I bet you can guess which LotR character he's based on!
[World of Warcraft
[Calimbar - Character - WoW
[Calimbar (Argent Dawn) (The High Guard) - 10 Kul Tiran Balance Druid, 9 ilvl
[9:44 PM]Sandalf13: Indeed. Very typical for older men, especially those like me, who have suffered hearing damage while in the Military years ago, before ear protection was as common as it is today. I stood countless hours on watch in the engine room with no ear protection at all.
[9:44 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aha.
[9:44 PM]Sandalf13: Yes...he is. And he is wearing a nautical emblem on his tabard!
[9:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm, yes, part of the starting gear for the Kul Tiran race, famed for their sailing.
[9:45 PM]Sandalf13: That explains it.
[9:46 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: His actual background story is... innkeeping
[9:46 PM]Sandalf13: Whoa.
[9:46 PM]Sandalf13: Maybe innkeeping in a port cithhy?
[9:47 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Could be!
[9:48 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Anyway, the weekly quest for this week is Delves, 5 of them. As it turned out, you can't get that quest until you finish the leveling campaign and unlock tier 4 or higher Delves, so that's what I did on my main.
[9:51 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I completed the Hallowfall zone, fighting back several attacks on the capital and later on a southern outpost, making my way into the next zone, Azj-Kahet. There I made some new friends, with a mysterious race which is rather reminiscent of the Na'vi race from the Avatar movies, but also with some rebel factions within the Nerubian kingdom. Freed some prisoners, sabotaged some war efforts, and ultimately infiltrated the city, but got chased out again after one of the npcs made a bad decision during a ceremony.
[9:52 PM]Sandalf13: Ugh.
[9:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And with the leveling campaign done, I got started on the max-level campaign, unlocking world quests, welcoming an allied fleet, and finally unlocked the full Delves feature, with tier 4+ difficulty Delves, new quests, bountiful keys and coffers, and other Delve-related stuff! And of course the weekly quest was now finally available.
[9:54 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: One more main quest for it remains to unlock a customizable dirigible mount, and following that I'll be able to buy appearance pieces for it. Should be fun. But I need a new key for that, which I'm sure will show up at some point!
[9:54 PM]Sandalf13: You have indeed been busy. I must retire soon for the night, however, as I have a full day tomorrow. This crisp and cool Fall weather makes for some outstanding sleep, and
[9:54 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In the meantime I've done all Delves at least once now, some up to level 5, though that's still a bit risky. But I am getting rewards for it, through the weekly quest and the vault, and that's what has been upgrading my equipment and ilevel
[9:54 PM]Sandalf13: I have been getting my share. Please allow me to congratulate you on your efforts, and to wish you a pleasant Namarie and good night! Sei gesund!
[9:55 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie, and thanks
[9:55 PM]Sandalf13: As always....
[9:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: So yeah, I've done the campaign quests I needed to to unlock the stuff I've wanted to unlock, and will now be focusing on Delves and raiding. That'll keep me busy enough already, though I do want to spend some time in the new Diablo 4 expansion, as well as going back to my alt rotation in WoW to continue my horde army, as well as continuing the story quests I hadn't done yet back in Shadowlands. Which is now 2 expansions ago. Eesh!
[9:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And that's my report for the week
[9:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!
Thus ends this week's meeting. Come back and see us next week!
