[4:33 PM]Pallando-Valar: In Eve recently there was a leak of details around a convoy as well as some research done by Chemal Tech around new types of clones. The short version is that the convoy was ultimately attacked, and the geneticists on it were ransomed back (mostly) to Chemal, but they also ended up going to a few other organizations.

@Ar-Pharazon-V railroaded? [4:39 PM]Pallando-Valar: Let us say that it was designed to ensure its death without actually railroading it. There was much discussion over this. Fraternity (large nullbloc alliance) actually showed up in big numbers and the initial assumption from many people was that they were there to kill it, but they were actually trying to defend it, according to them. After a few jumps, they had intel that someone was going to drop on the convoy, so fed up with the convoy doing everything it could get get itself killed, killed the convoy themselves in order to recover what they could from the wrecks and deliver it themselves.
[4:40 PM]Pallando-Valar: They wrote a really great post about it, actually, where they lay the blame for the deaths of the crew and loss of cargo at the feet of Chemal Tech for not altering their convoy details when it was well known it had leaked, etc. Was very well written.

[8:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: For (non)flashgaming, this week it's time for an older game/badge, a simple physics game where you have to get the ball to the flag in each level.
[8:09 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Alienplay's Spin has you controlling spinning platforms and the occasional spring to move the ball around. Avoid spikes and falling off the screen, but if you fail, nothing's lost; just try again!

[8:23 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Diablo 4: continued season 3 on my sorceress Calectronica, getting from level 19 to 22. She's completed quests 4 and 5 of the seasonal questline, finding a hidden vault and clearing out the "nursery" of the construct army, freeing some possessed villagers and dealing the demon baddie the first big blow. Followed by upgrading her own Seneschal construct to be able to contact the questgiver remotely. Ar-Pharazon-V: Along the way a free shirt was gotten on the season pass.
[8:23 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Next up we'll set the plan in motion to isolate the demon from the system.
[8:24 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hearthstone: New expansion started, with a new reward track, and I've gotten to level 30 so far.
[8:26 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Along the way I unlocked the Whizbang card back, and a random legendary, Ci'Cigi, one that puts random older cards in your deck. Her name being of course a reference to CCG, collectible card game, the genre to which Hearthstone belongs
[8:29 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I also got the death knight class to 40, 20 to go. And got the achievement for 1600 total reward track levels, for a new hero skin, and I chose Tempest Jaina for the mage. With the whiteblonde braids she looks a bit like Elsa from Frozen in this one, but with a purple outfit. I think the theme is inspired by Kael'thas in Tempest Keep.
[8:30 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I also made it to 1500 gold, and bought another mage class skin, Cookin' Hero Reno. But I still think I'll stick with Tempest for now.

[8:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, almost forgot: Brawl this week is new deck recipes for the latest expansion. Choose a class, get a specific deck with a powerful theme.
[8:32 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I've had the most success with the Death Knight deck, gathering corpses and using those to buff minions in your hand. If you can survive until you get the big numbers, you can quickly overwhelm the board with them
[8:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Warcraft Rumble: No new collection level yet, but making other progress.
[8:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Cleared dungeon level 16 with Tirion in the alliance week, and when horde week rolled around I got dungeon levels 13 and 14 for Cairne. Had luck with some of the talents, including summoning a grunt at the home base whenever I play a mini.

[8:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The name seems apt, since the levels mostly consist of minis and towers fighting each other all over the level
[8:38 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I also got another boss down in the sigil campaign, Emperor Thaurissan. 2 to go! Next one is based on the Rend Blackhand fight in his dungeon in World of Warcraft, with you sitting in the middle of the map with gold veins around you and having to take down waves of incoming enemies from 4 sides.
[8:38 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Definitely a unique fight compared to the usual top-down lane maps.

[8:41 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: As for quality upgrades, got the Harvest Golem and Fire Elemental minions to uncommon, and the preferred talent for the Golem. Keeping an eye out for the elemental one, and any new minis to upgrade!

[8:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Raiding continuing, but less than usual, as we're a bit short on healers right now. With the new patch, the next raid season starts in a few weeks, and apparently we've gotta do em all on Fated (but normal, thankfully) to get a new mount.
[8:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Patch also comes with the time-limited event mentioned in the news earlier, Plunderstorm.
[8:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: A Fortnite/Battle Royale mode, completely separate from the main game, where everyone plays a pirate with the same starting stats and gear (though you can customize your race and appearance, Vulpera looked nice to me) plundering the Arathi Highlands to get reputation, while also, for each match, collecting spells and experience and trying to survive longer than everyone else.
[8:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: With 60 players per match, that is quite tricky, especially since I've not played the genre much and am not good at pvp
[8:47 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: But winning's optional: the plunder/reputation is the key. For each 2500 plunder you get a Renown level, giving appearance rewards, pets, mounts and other cosmetic stuff to use in the main WoW game, and some in Plunderstorm itself.
[8:47 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Winning a battle gives you a feat of strength and I believe a title, but I doubt I'll get that, and am focusing on the renown rewards instead.
[8:49 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: There's 40 renown levels, which can take several hundred battles, but the event lasts about 6 weeks and I'm trying to get 1 renown level a day, in about 20-30 minutes. It helps that you get a random quest after you land in each battle, like killing 10 creatures (not players, thankfully) or looting 2 chests, for 250 extra plunder. And the first one of those you complete each day gets you 800 extra.
[8:49 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Unless you run into an enemy player early, that's usually doable in each battle. 8:51 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: But if you die, and feel like observing rather than hopping into your next match, you can also look over other players' shoulders as they try to take each other out in a battleground that shrinks over time, as a deadly storm closes in, forcing surviving players to come out of hiding or die in the storm.
[8:52 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: So yeah, it's mostly a pvp mode, but with pve elements if that's more your thing, and lots of stuff to collect. I recommend the WoW players to try it, at least!

[8:54 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Right, and the weekly quest in WoW this week is, appropriately, battlegrounds, though Plunderstorm doesn't count as it's a completely different mode with a special character. But I did get my four battleground wins, and made it to honor level 125.

[8:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, going back to Plunder, I've completed up to renown 6 now, getting me some weapon and clothing appearances, pirate-style, as well as a new pet, Happy, a fish in his own bubble.
