VardaYesterday at 4:16 PM
Thanks for clarifying that with the zoom scroll going on. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:17 PM
Storm patch had the long-expected role revamp, as well as new
event starting. Looks quite interesting.
VardaYesterday at 4:18 PM
What appeals?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:19 PM
Well, a lot of heroes now have roles closer to what they actually
can do, and with the new grouping there's also less different quests
to get, so easier to complete  The event has a lot of quests
in one line, but with a ton of rewards for them like portraits.
VardaYesterday at 4:19 PM
Nice
Hearthstone:
Check out the new blog: Developer Insights: Smart Deck Builder.
https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/22938500/developer-insights-smart-deck-builder
Developer Insights: Smart Deck Builder
Learn how the new smart deck builder helps you
build the best decks possible with the click of a button!
Wouldn't that take a bit of the skill fun out of it?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:20 PM
Well, some people (like me) prefer actually playing the matches over
the deckbuilding
VardaYesterday at 4:21 PM
Ok, just thought that was part of the playing.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:21 PM
I think I'll start using the smart deck builder to upgrade my
"basic" class decks after they all reach level 60 and I need to
actually start grinding wins instead of xp.
Heh, sure, it can be, but some of us don't like that part
VardaYesterday at 4:22 PM
Good to start off for speed, then dress it better in the later part,
maybe.
Maybe give everyone the same deck, then it's pure skill of using the
cards.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:22 PM
Sure, maybe, though you can add in stronger cards and it'll try to
build a deck around it, based on the meta around the ranks you're
at.
So it should work at many ranks.
Varda, that would negate the deckbuilding aspect, sure, but it would
also make the actual collecting useless, which is actually one of
the things I like
VardaYesterday at 4:23 PM
Oops.

Varda
Falco and Dis have been really amazing on the Ithil server, leveling
up at high speed by gaming (not gadgets).
Any other gaming news? Suggestions, other business?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:26 PM
Isn't leveling by gaming the point?
VardaYesterday at 4:27 PM
It is for me and most of the guild.
Mostly the jump-up stuff is for people with a lot of characters that
need to get up to their raid group's level with a special type.
Ones that already know the class.
Not my cup of tea.
If there is no further business...?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:29 PM
It would help my legion of alts in WoW... but questing is part of
the fun!
VardaYesterday at 4:29 PM
Agreed.
And a major part in LotRO as we get to go through Middle-earth while
leveling our way across the lands, and seeing stories unfold.
ArienVYesterday at 4:31 PM
yeah i played a bit on the hunter .. in the Vale of the Anduin i
thnk towards the Limlight
i havent been there before so its quite nice
VardaYesterday at 4:32 PM
So many different areas we can explore as we level. We don't have to
take the same direction each time.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:32 PM
Kinda tragic how Anduin makes me think of the young king
rather than the river now.
VardaYesterday at 4:32 PM

Tolkien:
Arien gave us another topic for us to run with. Thank you for the
Forum post, Sunshine!
ArienVYesterday at 4:34 PM
you are welcome  It is meant for everyone by the way not
just for me
VardaYesterday at 4:34 PM
Who were the Woses and how did they fit
into the story of the One Ring?
Right!
ArienVYesterday at 4:36 PM
Now the Woses .. , the Wild Men of the Wood .. , it was a forest
between Rohan and Gondor i thinnk? Druadan Forest.. they were a
tribe of men known for the nature connected way of living and
cllothing themselves, also using drums as means of passing on
messengers and using poisoned arrows against their foes
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:37 PM
Descended from the Edain making their way west, I believe; mingled
with the house of Haleth in Beleriand.
VardaYesterday at 4:38 PM
Meriadoc recognized their ancestry from having seen the statues of
the Pukel-men in Dunharrow.
He said it was as if the images had come to life.
Makes one wonder just what those looked like that mingled with the
Halethrim, if that's what happened.
How did these Wild Men fit into the story of the One Ring?
ArienVYesterday at 4:40 PM
uh they scouted the forest and shot their arrows into the orcs
and showed Theoden s army the way
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:40 PM
Cleared the way for the Rohirrim to travel to Minas Tirith, yep.
VardaYesterday at 4:41 PM
Aye!
ArienVYesterday at 4:41 PM
when their route was blocked
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:41 PM
In return for being left alone after the war.
VardaYesterday at 4:41 PM
Aye to both of you : )
Did they get their wish about being left alone?
ArienVYesterday at 4:41 PM
Yes they did
VardaYesterday at 4:41 PM
How did that happen?
ArienVYesterday at 4:42 PM
Aragorn , King Elessar , granted them Druadan Forest as their own
territory and decreed that no one should pass there without their
permission#
VardaYesterday at 4:42 PM
Aye
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:42 PM
Similar to the Shire, actually.
VardaYesterday at 4:42 PM
Exactly!
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:42 PM
Funny. Man becomes king and the first thing he does is give pieces
of his kingdom away.
VardaYesterday at 4:43 PM
Hobbits affected Aragorn's attitude, perhaps, indirectly helping
such as the Druadain.
Heh
It's a lot of territory to administer, with more on the way with all
that fighting!
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:44 PM
Can't imagine Pharazon doing a silly thing like that.
VardaYesterday at 4:44 PM
haha
Maybe after a little cooling down time in a pit...?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:44 PM
Maybe!
VardaYesterday at 4:45 PM
Who was Ghan-buri-Ghan?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:45 PM
Leader and spokesperson, as I recall.
VardaYesterday at 4:45 PM
Aye
What famous person did he personally work with?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:46 PM
Possibly not a terribly bright combination, when it comes to
international diplomacy.
Theoden?
VardaYesterday at 4:46 PM
He knew the Common Speech, a major help.
Right!
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:46 PM
True, that.
ArienVYesterday at 4:47 PM
I wonder whether they were actually related to the people living
near the old ports of Caer Luin or what its name was
VardaYesterday at 4:47 PM
It was also a way of showing honor. The great headman of the
Druedain put himself as guide with his life for surety with the
father of the Horse-men.
ArienVYesterday at 4:47 PM
I think the Numenorien King who built the great amount of
ships drove those out of their home
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:49 PM
Aldarion, was it?
ArienVYesterday at 4:49 PM
Tar Ciryatan ^
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:49 PM
Ah.
Almost thought you were talking about me!
VardaYesterday at 4:49 PM
Would we do that?
ArienVYesterday at 4:49 PM
Lond Daer was the Porft
I used that in a story

Thank you for finding the link for us!
ArienVYesterday at 4:51 PM
If they were chased away and hunted at the time .. they could have
fled towards Druadan Forest
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:52 PM
Lond Daer was the port on the midwest shore, right?
Seems pretty far to travel, but I guess there wasn't too much forest
inbetween anymore.
ArienVYesterday at 4:59 PM
also known as Vinyalond
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:00 PM
Right  I remember naming one of my colonies in a space
browsergame Vinyalonde.
ArienVYesterday at 5:00 PM
Vinyalonde and in the middle of The gulf of Lune and Edhellond
VardaYesterday at 5:01 PM
Fun how we can bring together our different hobbies. : )
ArienVYesterday at 5:01 PM
just looking here at the atlas hehe
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:01 PM
Hmm, I can't find any posts on our forum after the 18th.
ArienVYesterday at 5:01 PM

so i guess it is possible
speculation on my side though

Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:02 PM

VardaYesterday at 5:02 PM

Ghân-buri-ghân
Article: the great headman Ghân-buri-ghân of the
Woses, aka Wild Men
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:08 PM
There he is!
VardaYesterday at 5:08 PM
Ta-daaa!
We need art for Ghan, or at least a Wose or Pukel-man.
ArienVYesterday at 5:13 PM
yeah that would be nice but i can't draw ..
VardaYesterday at 5:15 PM
No worries. It's an open call to our artists out there.
Stick figure of Ghan - somewhat circular or blocky? : )
ArienVYesterday at 5:17 PM
round head withja twig crown .. big belly leaf skirt and big
baton :O?
VardaYesterday at 5:18 PM
Interesting. I never thought of a crown. It mentions a grass skirt
for clothing, maybe like a Hawaiian?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:18 PM
Grass crown?
Flower crown?
Bird's nest?
VardaYesterday at 5:18 PM
hehe
ArienVYesterday at 5:19 PM
Bird's nest is Radagast :stuck_out_tongue:
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:21 PM
Flower crown might be Thranduil?
VardaYesterday at 5:21 PM
Aye to that.
Ghan called himself a headman rather than a king.
Either one was the top leader though.
ArienVYesterday at 5:22 PM

Aiya!
VardaYesterday at 5:24 PM
Just having a Wose discussion. Feel free to add your two shekels. :

I became distracted looking at images of Ghan-buri-Ghan on the web.
Most don't seem to match my mental picture very well.
Always interesting to see other people's imaginings.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:27 PM
I've not actually seen the movie Moana, but it does remind me
of scenes I've happened to find...
VardaYesterday at 5:34 PM

ok, so maybe it's time to shift gears, since our chat is pretty well

After-meeting!
ArienVYesterday at 5:37 PM
How many meals
were there in a Hobbit day :O?
VardaYesterday at 5:37 PM
Do we get to count between meal such as elevenses and tea? : )
ArienVYesterday at 5:37 PM
uhu
VardaYesterday at 5:38 PM
Maybe snacks while cooking...
Continuous eating from waking to sleeping! Then midnight snacks!
Fangorn on this side of the screen waved and said hi!
ArienVYesterday at 5:39 PM
say hi back to him !
VardaYesterday at 5:40 PM
Breakfast, Second Breakfast, Elevenses, Lunch... When is tea time in
Britain anyway? : )
So every few hours or even one hour.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:40 PM
Hmm, quickly went through that list you linked, Varda.
VardaYesterday at 5:40 PM
Must use it up like hummingbirds while farming and cooking.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:41 PM
He has a point on many things, but only when it applies to the
movie. It's not so much improvements over the book, but changes that
go better in the visual medium.
VardaYesterday at 5:41 PM
Or Rollerderby means pushing each other around?
Agreed, Phar.
It was just a fun read. : )
ArienVYesterday at 5:45 PM
wasnt there something else between Breakfast and second
Breakfast?>
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:45 PM
Elevenses?
VardaYesterday at 5:45 PM
Have they invented the coffee break?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:45 PM
1.5th breakfast?
ArienVYesterday at 5:51 PM
7.00 AM Breakfast, 9l00 AM Second Breakfast , 11.00 am
Elevenses, , 1.00 pm Luncheon, 400 pm Afternoon tea, 6.00 pm Supper.
8.00 pm dinner
thats .. 7 meals .. wow
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:52 PM
What is the difference between supper and dinner, I wonder.
VardaYesterday at 5:52 PM
Supper is earlier. Dinner can be much later and more formal.
So they eat about every two hours?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:53 PM
We just eat at 6 and then have tea and a cookie at 8. Maybe a small
snack some hours later.
VardaYesterday at 5:53 PM
Must be something between lunch and tea
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:53 PM
And with tea, I do mean tea. Not a meal.
VardaYesterday at 5:53 PM
In real life? We may eat either supper or dinner, but not both. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:53 PM
Unless you count the cookie.
hehe
That sounds more sensible.
VardaYesterday at 5:55 PM
Even between families, mealtimes may be different. Makes sense that
different cultures, such as hobbits, would have different practices.
Maybe some of those meals were very light, as your tea with only tea
and no biscuits or cookies or other.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:56 PM
The hobbit practice seems to be "Why not both?"
VardaYesterday at 5:56 PM
For sure!
Farmers work very hard. Maybe they worked a lot of it off. And they
had to make tools, take care of the animals, and handle all those
children.
ArienVYesterday at 5:59 PM

Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 6:00 PM
Namarie!
Hmm, about Warcraft 1 and 2 on GoG... I already have 2 bnet

off freeware versions. I just hope it's the version with the 3d map
function, that always looked nice.

Personal gaming report!
top
We start with 3 flashgames.
Right, for the first one, let me see if I can find a website that
actually saves your coincount..
Ah well, guess you're in a for a long sitting if you want to unlock
other characters.. or maybe it's my browser at fault. Anyway!
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/backflipper
is the first game! Flip back from rooftop to rooftop, timing your
landing and collecting coins. If it works for you, you can use the
coins to buy new characters with better jumping stats!
Backflipper - OneMoreLevel.com
A bit tough to make combos though, but you might be better at it
than I am
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/dead_sticks
is a physics puzzle game! Click on nodes to swing at nodes you can't
click, and if you do it right, the whole figure drops down. Can be
tricky, but fun!
Dead Sticks - OneMoreLevel.com
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/run_to_the_stairs
is the third game! A racing game through a dungeon, with roguelike
elements; random buffs and events to help you out and maybe help you
beat the others

Blizzard gaming!
Diablo 3:
Chapter 4 complete! Got bounty act 5 done earlier in the week, to
finish chapter 4, and sat down on friday to work on chapter 4. And
everything fell into place! The material grinding I mentioned last
time was easy enough, because at the start of my first rift I
immediately found a treasure goblin that dropped half the materials
I needed. A few legendary salvages later, and I managed to convert
my extra shoulders for the set into the chestpiece on the first try,
which meant that I got my full setbonus already.
The setbonus being an increase in healing from skills, and a huge
damage increase from skills that drain my life as resource. I only
had to change one ability on my actionbars for the latter, and was
blood nova-ing my way through the rest of the chapter objectives
rather easily after that
Still felt a bit fragile, but at one point I decided to go through
my passive skills again, and found a combination of 2 passives that
1) occasionally spawns health globes when I consume a corpse (and I
have an auto-corpse-consumption build) and 2) makes health globes
take away the life cost from one life-draining skill. With all that
combined, things went even faster
And in my last rift I actually came across some legendary boots that
increase movement speed after blood rush, which is actually one of
the signature moves for this set, so after extracting that legendary
power into Kanai's Cube, I made my build even more efficient.
And now chapter 4 is complete, and the reward butterfly wings https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Wings_of_Lempo
acquired! And thus ends the seasonal journey for my very first
necromancer. It's quite an interesting class, and I think I'll
rebirth him for the next few seasons just to see what the other sets
do. It'll be fun to change builds around, though I suspect some of
the skills I used, I will continue to keep using. Just makes
it very smooth, even while leveling.
Diablo Wiki
Wings of Lempo
Wings of Lempo are a set of wings that will be
released for Diablo III in Patch 2.6.4. The wings can only be
obtained by completing Chapter IV of Season 16 Journey. Their

Heroes of the Storm:
Level 336 still. But I'm sure that will soon change...
The new role-assignments have placed Zarya, my Overwatch tank, into
the support role. Which means there's only one hero left for the
tank/bruiser role and quest, and that's D.Va. Who I do not own, have
only played once in a brawl, and is still level 1. So next time an
Overwatch or tanking quest comes up, I'll need to figure out how she
operates
But at that point it should be an easy few levels.
Main difference is that the specialist role has been removed, and
all 3 specialists I currently have active have been dropped into the
assassin category. So for each of those 3 franchises I'll put one of
the 2 assassins I've got active to the side, only to be picked up
again when the other one is level 15.
That means no Gul'dan, Kerrigan or Nazeebo for a while.
But with a smaller active roster, leveling should be faster too for
those who are active
Brawl: Another single-lane (getting really tired of those), with two
of the 3 fights locking me in a healer role, as both times I had 2
healer choices and my teammates none. Luckily, both times I could
choose a healer I was familiar with.
Third match was Butcher, a melee fighter I'm not too familiar with,
but with some talent improvising I actually got pretty effective in
the end-game. So that was fun, at least.

Hearthstone
... still going. Nearly all classes around halfway to next level
now. Brawl was alright, with cards from only Frozen Throne, Un'goro
and Kobolds expansions; the year of sets we'll be saying goodbye to
when the new Hearthstone year starts.
Got through it with a cheaper warlock deck featuring Keleseth to
give all my cheap minions extra stats. Quite fun!
WoW:
Raiding still on the fifth boss on heroic difficulty. Conclave
continues to be a pain. A lot of abilities that can overlap and make
things really difficult, which means we actually have to postpone
killing stuff at times so it doesn't overlap with other dangerous
stuff.
3 new pets from the old Pandaria raids! Wayward Spirit (a
ghostly tiki mask), Comet (a celestial doggy) and Spirit of the
Spring (an orange pandaria elemental). Spirit of the Spring comes
with a custom animation, too!
Which brings my total to 6 out of 11. Halfway already!
And I got one other pet too, from the Arathi rares: Foulfeather, a
buzzard pet.
Weekly this week was 4 mythic dungeons, and while the dungeons
themselves weren't much special, I did get a new cloak as a reward
from the quest, a heroic quality feral spec cloak. Not bad, though I
was hoping for one of my missing tank trinkets
Beyond that, more and more world quests! I managed to complete the
Master Calligrapher achievement by completing the triangle shape,
with a couple of raid markers, and now I no longer need to worry
about perfecting them for future world quests
And in Arathi I've been getting more service medals; combined with
some 7th legion paragon rewards I'm now nearing 700 medals. I should
have enough for the mount in about 2 weeks!
Everything after that is cheaper, too
And finally, a new mount! I finally got the third Army of the Light
elekk mount, the Glorious Felcrusher!
All those months of visiting the class hall for Army of the Light
rep missions, checking the Argus world quests daily for rep tokens,
doing all the Army of the Light and Kirin Tor emissaries for extra
rep... is now over! And with it, I've gotten all the paragon rewards
from the Legion factions.
There's still a pet missing, but that's from an emissary reward
rather than a paragon reward, so I will continue to do dreamweaver
emissary whenever it's up. But being done with the Army of the Light
saves me a lot of time with regular checking of so many things
Good to leave such a significant chunk of the previous expansion
behind me.
And that's my report for the week! Somewhere next week I'll see
about getting that Warcraft 1 bought. Good for the collection!
