Before-meeting
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
VardaValar1 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya. Computer's misbehaving. May have to take it in tomorrow.
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
ArPharazonV: And ouch.
VardaValar1: Sure glad you're here. :-)
VardaValar1: comp is nearly locked up again
VardaValar1: Arien around?
ArPharazonV: Is a bit early, no? But I'll check :-)
VardaValar1: Web news is up on the News site if I crash, and Gaming news on Eonw
VardaValar1: Daylight Savings Time here
ArPharazonV: Oh, that time of year already?
VardaValar1: So we're an hour earlier
ArPharazonV: I'll poke her.
VardaValar1: Annoyingly so, aye
VardaValar1: Comp is really misbehaving over here.
ArPharazonV: She's in a dungeon, will join us when she can.
VardaValar1: okies. No one else made it in yet anyway, no rush
VardaValar1: Invitations have gone out
ArPharazonV: I know there's something up with Windows 10 that's giving
bad updates, or W10 upgrade going into recommended updates, or
something.
ArPharazonV: If you don't have it yet.
ArPharazonV: Not sure if it's affecting you, it caused two of our raiders to have trouble tonight.
AriehnV has entered the room.
AriehnV: Aiya all
ArPharazonV: Aiya :-)
AriehnV: sorry for that .. missed it that summer time started in the states
ArPharazonV: So did I, luckily I was in the room early.
AriehnV: dungeon popped up at the wrong time and when we were finished found myself attacked by a mobstorm
ArPharazonV: That was a quick dungeon then.
AriehnV: they always rush like mad
AriehnV: at the early levels at least
ArPharazonV: hehe
AriehnV: do you want me to take over?
AriehnV: i am so not prepared .. so dont expect big stuff ..
ArPharazonV: I think it's for if she crashes. Which, I *think* she hasn't done yet...
ArPharazonV: If she does, web news and gaming news are up on the site.
AriehnV: where is Varda then? gone invisible?
ArPharazonV: Well, for me it says she's still in the room...
ArPharazonV: Isn't she for you?
VardaValar1 has left the room.
ArPharazonV: Ah, there she goes...
ArPharazonV: I guess the floor is yours, whenever you're ready :-)
AriehnV: uhm right
top
AriehnV: Elen sila lummenn omentielvo! A star shines upon the hour of our meeting
AriehnV: Membership news:
AriehnV: we are here and Varda was here and is not now Ar Pharazon V
has reported that our Star Lady has trouble with her computer tonight
.. hence the hasty takeover
ArPharazonV: Yep, she's thinking of bringing it in for repairs tomorrow.
AriehnV: Unforunately i dont know whether Varda recruited new members
in LotrO but knowing she probably has found a new member for our happy
family :-)
AriehnV: Any sightings of Valarites online Phari?
ArPharazonV: Saw Fladrif online a few times
ArPharazonV: and Varda just came back :-)
VardaValar1 has entered the room.
AriehnV: aiyata Varda :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiyata!
VardaValar1: Aiya. :-) On the laptop now. Desktop computer froze
VardaValar1: Meeting start yet, I hope? :-)
AriehnV: ah well thank goodness for back ups eh?
VardaValar1: Aye!
AriehnV: well just got here i am afraid was in dungeon when Phari called me .. b but just got in membership news
ArPharazonV: Hmm, good point, I should probably install AIM on my dad's pc one of these days.
VardaValar1: Excellent. :-)
AriehnV: i pass the gavel back to you Varda
scott92027 has entered the room.
scott92027: Aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Elladan :-)
scott92027: sorry guys can't participate this week. I spiked a fever of 104.2 last night and still shaking it
AriehnV: Aiya Elladan
scott92027: Just wanted to send love and say hi
VardaValar1: Ye cats.
scott92027: yeah
VardaValar1: Thank you. :-)
scott92027: Namarie, everyone!
VardaValar1: Doctors helping you with it?
VardaValar1: Namarie!
scott92027 has left the room.
AriehnV: namarie Elladan and hugs
VardaValar1: That's awfully high.
AriehnV: how much is that?
VardaValar1: Let's say, way over 98.6
ArPharazonV: ...Aiya and Namarie Elladan!
VardaValar1: Enough to need a doctor.
VardaValar1: Fahrenheit

VardaValar1: On to Web news:
VardaValar1: New art from the Bohemian Weasel:
VardaValar1: Sauron advising Ar-Pharazon:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/BohemianWeasel/characters/Sauron/SauronArPharazon.jpg
VardaValar1: The smoke of the burning Faithful can be seen through the window behind them.
ArPharazonV: Hmm. I like rather... tired? Slouched?
ArPharazonV: Must be the old age.
VardaValar1: Pharazon's hair is also white, to add to the idea of his fear of old age. Right!
VardaValar1: Sauron is suggesting that if he wants immortality and is
brave enough, all he has to do is sail his navy to Valinor and take it.
ArPharazonV: Let the ship-building begin!
VardaValar1: The eye is in the frame above, and a skull for death in the frame below.
VardaValar1: heh. Great advisor there.
VardaValar1: For the Bohemían Weasel's exhibit, she made this three piece set, of which that one was the last piece:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/BohemianWeasel/characters/Sauron/Sauron_triptych.jpg
ArPharazonV: Is that Celebrimbor in the middle?
VardaValar1: You can see the "progress"of the Dark Lord. Melkor sways
him, then Sauron has Celebrimbor making Rings, and then advising
Ar-Pharazon
VardaValar1: Right
VardaValar1: Using the anvil
ArPharazonV: Very impressive.
VardaValar1: We had a corrupted file now replaced with a new copy, showing Melkor and Sauron:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/BohemianWeasel/characters/Melkor/MelkorSauron_faces.jpg
VardaValar1: Agreed.
VardaValar1: That last was a practice piece, if you can imagine that,
where she was figuring out what their faces would look like.
VardaValar1: Also in webwork, we have a few new links in the image sections to reach the art from the Encyclopedia.
VardaValar1: Noticed we don't have an actual article on Arwen, shocked me a bit.
VardaValar1: Just a lot of artwork.
VardaValar1: Some folks asked what we needed written. There's one. :-)
AriehnV: :-)
VardaValar1: We also have a wish list on the Encyc:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/articles.htm
VardaValar1: Plus in the lists of names, if one is grayed out, it needs
an article. And some have stubs rather than articles, place-holders
more or less.
VardaValar1: But ít was very nice to be able to present that great art today! :-)

VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: LotRO:
VardaValar1: We have been having an extra experience weekend.
VardaValar1: To that has been added extra experience buffs from our valiant Moors folk, who have been very busy. Thanks!
VardaValar1: WoW:
VardaValar1: For those of you in EuroWow,
VardaValar1: if you see any of the Valarites over there, please let me
know they are still active. Membership page has been getting an update.
VardaValar1: Now into Eonwe's Games Site news, which he is loyally
continuing to have up for us in time for every meeting, a feat in
itself.
VardaValar1: More WoW:
VardaValar1: What's available to test in the Legion alpha
has been updated.
VardaValar1: Diablo 3:
VardaValar1: Patch 2.4.1 is
now up on the PTR.
Check out the
patch notes.
VardaValar1: (Bilbo still actively plays it among other games)
VardaValar1: Hearthstone:
VardaValar1: Hearthstone's third expansion has been announced:
Whispers of the Old Gods.
VardaValar1: Heroes of the Storm:
VardaValar1: There's been a
balance update
this week.
VardaValar1: Overwatch:
VardaValar1: Overwatch's
release date has been announced.
If you're looking forward to it, it'll be coming out May 24th.
VardaValar1: There will also be an open beta period
for PC, XBox One, and Playstation 4.
VardaValar1: For more gaming news, don't forget to check out the After-meeting!
ArPharazonV: One more thing for D3
VardaValar1: Any other general news folks would like to add?
VardaValar1: Fire away, Phar. :-)
ArPharazonV: Apparently a lot of new pets have been discovered for the next patch, for those who like to collect such things :-)
VardaValar1: Ah hah!
ArPharazonV: One fansite I frequent has put up a gallery of screenshots for a bunch of them.
ArPharazonV: http://www.diabloii.net/blog/comments/patch-2-4-1-new-virtual-pets
VardaValar1: Fun. :-) Thank you for the link.
ArPharazonV: I particularly like the Mimic, reminds me of Discworld's Luggage ;-)
VardaValar1: Nifty. :-)
VardaValar1: Heh, had to peruse a few there.
VardaValar1: Any other news, suggestions, recommendations, cool links?
VardaValar1: Fangorn-(Valar) says a Hobbit movie is free on TV right
now. He's watching them collect their new swords from the troll cave.
VardaValar1: Doesn't help you two much. O well.
ArPharazonV: Got em all on dvd anyway :-)
VardaValar1: Sometimes we pass that info during LotRO and people will tune in right quick.
ArPharazonV: Though... I've yet to watch the third ;-) Busy busy!
VardaValar1: There you go. No commercials!
VardaValar1: ack. You must see what Dain is riding, must watch for that. :-)
ArPharazonV: Very true, and extra scenes!
ArPharazonV: heh
top
VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: Riding critters.
ArPharazonV: So many possibilities going through my mind right now.
ArPharazonV: Rams, raptors, wyrms, mumakils!
VardaValar1: In the movies, we get to see some variants on horse-riding.
VardaValar1: Actually, yes. Some from far Harad rode mumakils, as the
mahmouds/mahmouts (sp?) do in India and other places. War elephants in
the story.
ArPharazonV: Room for a lot more people in the Harad version, too.
VardaValar1: It was too bad that we didn't see in the books how the
good guys handled the elephants! I was glad that was in the movie.
VardaValar1: Really big mumaks. :-)
VardaValar1: Makes sense they were so big. The early mammoths were enormous and this is way back in time.
ArPharazonV: Riding under it after cutting its front legs seems so risky. It might fall on top of you.
VardaValar1: Ride fast!
VardaValar1: They weren't letting any grass grow under their hooves.
VardaValar1: A version of tanks for the Enemy.
VardaValar1: In the movie, Thranduil is riding an elk.
VardaValar1: Sounds far-fetched, but some people actually ride reindeer, use them as horses, even pulling stuff.
ArPharazonV: Like sleds with big sacks of presents on them.
VardaValar1: In LotRO, we get to put elk horns on our horse's headgear
if we are willing to blow high barter coins. (I did, natch. Too fun to
pass up.)
VardaValar1: hehe - that too
ArPharazonV: If you kill Archimonde on heroic difficulty in WoW you get a moose, I'm still using it ;-)
VardaValar1: Some of the dwarves are asking if we'll get to have the same mount that Dain used, but no spoilers for you.
VardaValar1: Cool :-)
VardaValar1: The horns for the horses were a nice touch, cheered a lot of us. Not sure how they can pull off the other.
VardaValar1: No skeleton horses, but some horses are painted with skeleton appearance. Get them as a prize during Halloween.
ArPharazonV: Heh, fun.
VardaValar1: They try very hard to keep it within the books and make everyone happy. Amazing how well they handle it.
VardaValar1: In the movie, they decided to use shaggy ponies for the dwarves.
VardaValar1: But,
VardaValar1: it was warm weather. The shaggy ponies had lost their long hair, all nice and sleek.
VardaValar1: So they had makeup too!
VardaValar1: Great job they did on it, but the concept of having to do that is hysterical.
ArPharazonV: Just gluing on some patches of hair...
VardaValar1: No eagle mounts, of course. But in LotRO we do get to meet some of the great eagles: Landroval and Meneldor
ArPharazonV: Or maybe put a big shaggy carpet over them.
VardaValar1: More like the last since there's a lot of area. Shades of Chewbacca.
VardaValar1: We won't be riding fell beasts any time soon, either, but we do get to see them, and the nazgul get to ride them.
VardaValar1: and we get to fight them.
ArPharazonV: Maybe a rare loot from fighting one of the Nazgul? ;-)
VardaValar1: *eyes the gavels crossing the shelf on a conveyor belt*
VardaValar1: hahaha
VardaValar1: It would as soon eat one of us as fake letting us ride?
ArPharazonV: Maybe if it's a small one we can raise it as our own?
VardaValar1: Maybe carry us to Mordor. Little did they know we had a ring...
ArPharazonV: hehe
VardaValar1: Now tha't's a thought.
VardaValar1: Sauron was breeding fell beasts, long program.
ArPharazonV: That would've made an interesting story, Frodo sneaking
into Mordor on a fel beast... if he could hide from its rider, which
seems unlikely.
VardaValar1: We hobbit stealth into Mordor and collect some of the young weird things they are crossing and breeding.
ArPharazonV: Hah, there you go.
VardaValar1: No way they could have sneaked the Ring in on a fell beast, just amusing for us to imagine.
VardaValar1: So we come home with a runt pteranodan. It eats as much as a hobbit!
ArPharazonV: Take two, breed em, get a fleet of em, send them into
Mordor, with one somewhere back in the middle holding a Ringbearer...
VardaValar1: *grabs a gavel as the conveyor belt speeds up*
VardaValar1: *sparkly! and silvery runes on an ebony background*
ArPharazonV: Promising.
VardaValar1: *taps it on the table hammer stop*
VardaValar1: *It goes through the table, being made of masses of starry
particles, ands showers of young stars poof around everywhere*
VardaValar1: *stars outline our shapes, then slowly fade away as they cycle through colors*

VardaValar1: After-meeting!
ArPharazonV: Fancy!
VardaValar1: Nice one-shot.
ArPharazonV: One of yours, then?
VardaValar1: They know who's going to try to use it.
VardaValar1: If Arien had gone for a hammer, they might have put out one with a brilliant yellow sun motif.
VardaValar1: I wonder what they'd give you?
VardaValar1: Bunch of wild-eyed apprentices of Aule's with a sense of humor.
VardaValar1: An oar-shaped hammer?
ArPharazonV: Might be.
VardaValar1: One that sails along just above the belt?
ArPharazonV: Hopefully it doesn't break up the world and sink the continent.
VardaValar1: Oops - we do have some strange hammers now and again. Could happen.
VardaValar1: More likely to hammer down a mountain range and make a sea, or vice versa.
VardaValar1: Valar are messy that way.
VardaValar1: The floor and under it are all yours, if you want them, Ar-Pharazon the Golden. :-)
ArPharazonV: Hmm, let me gather my thoughts and some games...
VardaValar1: Time is ignored in the non-space of the transcript. Take your time.
ArPharazonV: Personal gaming!
ArPharazonV: For flashgaming I've got 3 games this week.
ArPharazonV: http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/avalancher
is the first one! A platformer and laser-cutting game where you have to
move around, bring down structures with limited weapons, collect
treasures and make it to the exit. Bit of a physics/puzzle game.
VardaValar1 has left the room.
ArPharazonV: http://www.kongregate.com/games/keybol/pretentious-game is a smaller, older platformer, but apparently I'd not played it before :-) Bit of an atmospheric game.
ArPharazonV: And http://www.kongregate.com/games/thepodge/dibbles-3-desert-despair
is a game in a Lemmings-like series, where you have to give subjects
commands through limited tiles to guide the king to the exit.
ArPharazonV: If you're familiar with Lemmings though, you'll know that
it requires a lot of sacrifices, which is rather sad... but if you
don't mind that, it's a fun game!
ArPharazonV: I'll wait with blizzard news for a while in case Varda gets back :-)
VardaValar1 has entered the room.
AriehnV: there she is
ArPharazonV: Aiyata!
VardaValar1: Hantal :-)
VardaValar1: Didn't expect to crash out on the laptop.
ArPharazonV: Well then. Blizzard games!
VardaValar1: *shivers*
ArPharazonV: Hearthstone: Fun
brawl this week, random cards for your class which change their costs
randomly every turn, so it's advisable to hang on to some of the more
expensive cards at the start.
ArPharazonV: I got a daily quest to win 5 brawls, and used that to make
some of my classes that were behind in xp catch up a bit again.
ArPharazonV: Heroes of the Storm:
Not much news, but I did get Lunara to level 8, unlocking the snowy
lightblue skin for her, which looks quite nice :-) Just piling up xp
and gold again.
ArPharazonV: Diablo 3: Almost
paragon 350 now on my seasonal Crusader, haven't had too much time this
week. Still waiting for a second Unity ring to be able to survive on
higher Torment difficulties, but I might give it a go anyway when I hit
p350 or 400, unsure yet. I'm just tired of waiting, and the end of
season can't be too far away.
ArPharazonV: I'm continuing to put a number of excess legendaries with
unique effects in Kanai's Cube, which will carry over to non-season
after the end of the season, so I'm already envisioning any non-season
characters I might make to have quite an advantage.
ArPharazonV: Just continuing to grind on with bounties for
Cube-materials, rifts for keys, and greater rifts for gems through the
keys, while hopefully getting some good legendaries on the way. It's
kind of grindy at this point, but still fun and randomized in ways.
ArPharazonV: WoW:
ArPharazonV: Raiding still going as usual. No mythic progress, but
clearing heroic difficulty every week, in 2 raids this time even.
ArPharazonV: Not much Nemesis-progress. I finally got my pandaren heart
after almost a week of trying (panda players are really rare!) and
moved on to the quest to kill 500, so should be easier to find a group
if I want, but doing so in Ashran is quite a pain, because usually
there aren't even any Pandaren players around.
ArPharazonV: Still waiting to contact someone for a cheap boost of that
race, or Arien and I might meet up at some point so I can kill her
panda 500 times ;-)
ArPharazonV: No luck still with the rare I've been killing for the last
toy from the Iron Armada set. Just gotta keep going, I guess.
ArPharazonV: Finally, this week was Darkmoon Faire, and I've been
working hard at getting 13 wins in the Darkmoon Arena. With the
occasional help of a raider-friend, I've been able to get 5 wins this
time, putting the total at 8. With a bit of luck, that should mean this
project will be finished in 1 or 2 more months, because the Faire's
only here one week a month.
ArPharazonV: Still, should be well on time before the new expansion comes out.
ArPharazonV: And I think that'll be it for me this week!
VardaValar1: Thank you, Phar
AriehnV: Thank you Phar
VardaValar1: Have a great evening! Namarie for now.
VardaValar1 has left the room.
ArPharazonV: Namarie Varda!
AriehnV: Namarie all :-)
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
AriehnV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: saving and sending transcript
