Lurking in the damp dark cave,
His life extended, he cheated the grave,
His Precious it burned ever in his mind,
And through the land he sought to find,
The Thief who took his birthday gift,
So that he, Smeagol could once more lift,
The Ring of Sauron, gold and plain,
And continue his life of endless pain.
