Dinmir gasped.
"What?" Aldawë stopped their stroll and shot her a concerned glare.
Dinmir held up a lock of her hair. "I just realized my hair is darker than yours!"
"What do you mean?"
Dinmir grabbed a lock of his hair. "See? Mine is more chestnut. Yours is more like cocoa."
Aldawë squinted at both locks and shrugged. "All I see is brown. Brown is brown."
"There's Auros. We'll ask him. Hey Auros!" Auros froze as Dinmir and Aldawë ran up to him. "Sir Knight, please tell me you see that my hair is darker than Aldawë's."
"Well, let's take a look. Show me your hair." Both held out a lock of their hair for him to examine. "Hmm. Now hold it up to the sunlight." Both raised their hair into the air. "Mhm. Now wave it about. Mhm. Now let it go. Yes. I see now."
Dinmir gave him an impatient glare. "Well? What do you see?"
A wry grin took hold of Auros. "I see you both are much too gullible. I was off to the orchard with Farothel if you want to join us." On he went down the path.
Dinmir gaped at him. "Auros!"
Aldawë doubled over laughing. It wasn't long before Dinmir grinned too. Neither of them had seen it coming. Not from Auros.
"Well, if we're going to catch up to him you better stand up! Hey Auros, wait for us!"
