Scary, in Lord of the Rings Online
Scary is a town in the East Farthing of the
Shire, north of Brockenborings. The Hills of Scary are north and
east. To the east in those hills lies the Quarry. 1
Fredegar "Fatty" Bolger led rebels against
Sharkey's (Saruman's) ruffians, operating out of hidings in the
Brockenborings by the hills of Scary. He was taken when the ruffians
smoked them out and was put in the Lockholes in Michel Delving. He
was one of the prisoners released by Frodo, no longer fat.2
After the ruffians were removed from the Shire, a
great store of goods, food, and beer hidden away were found,
especially in the quarries of Scary and tunnels of Michel Delving.
This allowed a far better Yule than hoped. 3
