Arvegil was a dunadan and the eleventh King of Arthedain. He was the son and heir of Argeleb.
During his father's reign the Shire was founded. When the plague came to the north, it weakened and hardly affected Arthedain.
Arvegil lived for 190 years, but by the standards of his own ancestors, this was an early death. Of all the northern Kings before Arvegil, excepting those slain in battle only, two had lived less than 200 years: his father Argeleb II and his grandfather Araphor.
