Died FA 455.

The name means “cruel fire” (Sind. from Quen. Aikanáro).

Aegnor was the fourth son of Finarfin, who held together with his brother Angrod the northern slopes of Dorthonion, where they were slain in the Dagor Bragollach, as they bore the brunt of the assault of Glaurung and the balrogs.
