State of Valar Gaming 2024

Hail to all members of the Valar Guild on the 26th Anniversary of the Valar Guild!

Prior to September 2024, per the Games Site roster, there were 162 members playing 22 games.

Of those 162 members:

• 16 members played Lord of the Rings Online.
• 4 Members played Starcraft 2.
• 3 Members played Starcraft.
• 2 members played each of Heroes of the Storm, and Hearthstone, Warcraft 3, and World of Warcraft.
• 1 member plays each of AI War, AI War 2, Beyond All Reason, Chess, Diablo 3, Diablo 4, Dirt Rally 2, Eve Online, F1 2022, Frozen Cortex, Frozen Synapse, Games of Thrones: Winter is Coming, Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, and Spellstone.

Additionally:

• 5 members said they could be found on Battle.net.
• 2 members said they could be found on Steam.
• 1 member said they could be found on Kongregate.
• 1 member said they could be found on Gameknot.

On September 10th, 2024, the Games Site Mass-Update letter was sent out, requesting all members to send in their most up-to-date gaming information by September 30th. Only members listed as active on the Membership Page, and having an e-mail on file with us, were sent the GSMU e-mail. This year, that total was 47 (not counting myself). Of those, 1 was undeliverable (down from last year) and 13 responded by the deadline (again, not counting myself). To those who responded, thank you.

A further 8 members' gaming information was gleaned from Guild Branch activity Lord of the Rings Online. As with previous years, any activity within 90 days was counted as recent activity. The branches examined were on the servers Landroval and Crickhollow for Lord of the Rings Online. There was no new information to glean from World of Warcraft branches this year. These are the servers in each game where we have official guild branches.

Once all sources accessible were verified for recent activity, the Games Site roster was updated to reflect current gaming information.

As of October 13th, 2024, the Valar Guild Games Site now reflects a total of 161 members playing 21 games (one down from last year).

Of those 161 members:

• 1 member plays each of Chess, Diablo 3, Diablo 4, Eve Online, Final Fantasy XIV, Game of Thrones: Winter Is Coming, Hearthstone, Warcraft 3: Reforged, and Wingspan.
• 2 members play each of Guild Wars 2, Heroes of the Storm, Polybridge2, Polybridge 3, Rift, Spellstone, and Star Trek Online.
• 3 members play Starcraft, holding steady from last year.
• 4 members play World of Warcraft.

5 members play Starcraft 2, up one from last year.

Lord of the Rings Online remains our most played game with 15 members, down 1 from last year.

Additionally:

• 5 members can be found on Battle.net.
• 2 member can be found on Steam.
• 1 member can be found on Kongregate.
• 1 member can be found on lichess.
