State of Valar Gaming

Hail to all members of the Valar Guild on the 26th Anniversary of the Valar Guild!

Prior to September 2023, per the Games Site roster, there were 162 members playing 22 games.

Of those 162 members:

• 18 members played Lord of the Rings Online.
• 4 Members played each of World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2.
• 2 members played each of Guild Wars 2, Heroes of the Storm, and Hearthstone.
• 1 member played each of Chess, Dark Age of Camelot, Diablo 2: Resurrected, Diablo 3, Diablo Immortal, Elder Scrolls Online, Final Fantasy XIV, Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming, Guild Wars, Spellstone, Starcraft, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander 1.5, Supreme Commander 2, and Warcraft 3: Reforged.

Additionally:

• 4 members said they could be found on Battle.net.
• 1 member said they could be found on Steam.
• 1 member said they could be found on Kongregate.
• 1 member said they could be found on GOG.

On September 11th, 2023, the Games Site Mass-Update letter was sent out, requesting all members to send in their most up-to-date gaming information by September 30th. Only members listed as active on the Membership Page, and having an e-mail on file with us, were sent the GSMU e-mail. This year, that total was 41 (not counting myself). Of those, 2 were undeliverable (matching last year) and 8 responded by the deadline (again, not counting myself). To those who responded, thank you.

A further 13 members' gaming information was gleaned from Guild Branch activity in World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online (even with last year). As with previous years, any activity within 90 days was counted as recent activity. The branches examined were on the US servers of Uldaman and Lothar for World of Warcraft, and the servers Landroval, Crickhollow, Treebeard for Lord of the Rings Online. These are the servers in each game where we have official guild branches.

Once all sources accessible were verified for recent activity, the Games Site roster was updated to reflect current gaming information.

As of October 5th, 2023, the Valar Guild Games Site now reflects a total of 159 members playing 22 games (even with last year).

Of those 159 members:

• 1 member plays each of AI War, AI War 2, Chess, Diablo 2: Resurrected, Diablo 3, Diablo 4, Dirt Rally 2, Eve Online, F1 2022, Frozen Cortex, Frozen Synapse, Games of Thrones: Winter is Coming, Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, and Spellstone.
• 2 members play each of Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Warcraft 3: Reforged, and World of Warcraft.
• 3 members play Starcraft.

4 members play Starcraft 2, holding steady from last year and taking the second-place spot from World of Warcraft.

Lord of the Rings Online remains our most played game with 16 members, down 2 from last year.

Additionally:

• 5 members can be found on Battle.net.
• 2 member can be found on Steam.
• 1 member can be found on Kongregate.
• 1 member can be found on Gameknot.
