State of Valar Gaming 2022

Hail and Salutations to all members of the Valar Guild on the 25th Anniversary of the Valar Guild!

Prior to September 2022, per the Games Site roster, there were 162 members playing 27 games.

Of those 162 members:

• 22 members played Lord of the Rings Online.
• 7 Members played World of Warcraft.
• 4 members played Eve Online and Starcraft 2.
• 3 members played each of Elder Scrolls Online and Heroes of the Storm.
• 2 members played Guild Wars 2.
• 1 member played each of Civilization 6, Diablo 2: Resurrected, Diablo 3, Dragon Age, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Final Fantasy XIV, Games of Thrones: Winter is Coming, Guild Wars 2, Hearthstone, Mass Effect, Red Dead Online, Red Dead Redemption, Spellstone, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Starcraft, Warcraft 3: Reforged, Witcher, Witcher 2, and Witcher 3.

Additionally:

• 5 members said they could be found on Battle.net.
• 1 member said they could be found on Steam.
• 1 member said they could be found on Kongregate.

On September 5th, 2022, the Games Site Mass-Update letter was sent out, requesting all members to send in their most up-to-date gaming information by September 30th. Only members listed as active on the Membership Page, and having an e-mail on file with us, were sent the GSMU e-mail. This year, that total was 50 (not counting myself). Of those, only 1 was undeliverable (matching last year) and 13 responded by the deadline (again, not counting myself). To those who responded, thank you.

A further 13 members' gaming information was gleaned from Guild Branch activity in World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online (down one from last year). As with previous years, any activity within 90 days was counted as recent activity. The branches examined were on the US servers of Uldaman and Lothar for World of Warcraft, and the servers Landroval, Crickhollow, Shadowfax, and Treebeard for Lord of the Rings Online. These are the servers in each game where we have official guild branches.

Once all sources accessible were verified for recent activity, the Games Site roster was updated to reflect current gaming information.

As of October 8th, 2022, the Valar Guild Games Site now reflects a total of 162 members playing 22 games (down 5 games from last year).

Of those 162 members:

• 1 member plays each of Chess, Dark Age of Camelot, Diablo 2: Resurrected, Diablo 3, Diablo Immortal, Elder Scrolls Online, Final Fantasy XIV, Game of Thrones, Winter is Coming, Guild Wars, Spellstone, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Starcraft, Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander 1.5, Supreme Commander 2, Warcraft 3: Reforged.
• 2 members play each of Guild Wars 2, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm.

Four members play each of Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft. That brings World of Warcraft down from 7 last year, allowing Starcraft 2 to tie for the second most-played spot.

Lord of the Rings Online remains our most played game with 18 members, down 4 from last year.

Additionally:

• 4 members can be found on Battle.net.
• 1 member can be found on Steam.
• 1 member can be found on Kongregate.
• 1 member can be found on GOG.
