July 25, 2024
[1:32 AM]Eönwë Valar: Well, just solo'd Heart of Fear Heroic. All that's left is Throne of Thunder, and then I might give Siege of Orgrimmar one more chance.
[3:40 AM]Eönwë Valar: Got past Dark Animus.
[4:09 AM]Eönwë Valar: Hmmm, Raden might be just a little too much.
[4:09 AM]Eönwë Valar: He's got an attack that can apparently do (my current HP) damage to me. Kinda hard to survive that.
[4:53 AM]Eönwë Valar: So they didn't fix the Galakras mechanic.
[4:53 AM]Eönwë Valar: Oh well, I'd say it was a good run.
[4:54 AM]Eönwë Valar:
[4:57 AM]Eönwë Valar: I think that's where my record is going to stand. Not going to make any significant progress in the 20ish days before the event ends.
July 27, 2024
[3:37 AM]Eönwë Valar: Well I haven't been paying attention to things I ordered months ago, so when I walked outside my door today I found a big box I wasn't expecting. My WoW Expansion Collector's Edition has arrived, heh.
[5:25 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Grats Comes with statue, some assembly required!
[5:25 AM]Eönwë Valar: Thanks :}
[5:25 AM]Eönwë Valar: I was just about to post a warning, though:
[5:26 AM]Eönwë Valar: If you're buying a Collector's Edition, be wary which region you're getting: Game key redemption --- Though this doesn't help me because all my markings indicate a NA code and I still somehow got one that doesn't work.
[5:29 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oof. I hope you can get that fixed through support, seems to work based on that thread.
[5:30 AM]Eönwë Valar: I wrote them, 24 hour estimated wait, heh.
[5:30 AM]Eönwë Valar: Hopefully they work weekends :}
[5:31 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Good luck, hope so
[5:31 AM]Eönwë Valar: Thanks :}
[5:32 AM]Eönwë Valar: The beta key they sent me worked just fine, and it was the same format.
[5:32 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: weird
[5:32 AM]Eönwë Valar: Yeah.
[5:33 AM]Eönwë Valar: I expected a long download for the beta, and spent less time with the download than I did opening the statue's box, lol.
[5:34 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: All that tape!
[5:34 AM]Eönwë Valar: yeah
[5:35 AM]Eönwë Valar: Update on my ticket! (edited)
[5:36 AM]Eönwë Valar: Ok, so they tell me it's a US code.
[5:37 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: So the problem is not the code-format, but the code itself?
[5:37 AM]Eönwë Valar: You know, crazy idea here.
[5:38 AM]Eönwë Valar: I copy-pasted the beta from my e-mail, and it had the dashes. I didn't manually insert the dashes when I typed my code. Maybe a PEBKAC issue after all. Maybe I'm just not imaginitive enough, heh. Let's find out :}
[5:38 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: yeah, I inserted the dashes myself.
[5:39 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I hadn't heard of that acronym before, though.
[5:40 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Had an idea based on your context but had to google the exact meaning
[5:43 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: "Some support technicians refer to it as "biological interface error". " Oh, I like that
[5:44 AM]Eönwë Valar: Heh
[5:45 AM]Eönwë Valar: Well it was my fault after all. I didn't scratch the coating off the code cleanly enough.
[5:45 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Got some numbers wrong?
[5:46 AM]Eönwë Valar: There was a tiny bit I didn't quite get that made a huge difference in the character displayed. (edited)
[5:46 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: haha
[5:46 AM]Eönwë Valar: To paraphrase Obi-Wan Kenobi: I was reading it right, from a certain point of view :}
[5:47 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: This is not the code you're looking for.
[5:47 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: ...Yeah, my Star Wars quotes are limited.
[5:50 AM]Eönwë Valar: Funny enough, one of the "examples" the GM included in the message about making sure the "code is correct" happens to match the one I needed to scratch off more. Wonder if that's just standard or if he saw it and was like "Dude, look right here." lol :}
[5:50 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Subtle
[5:51 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Definitely something I might do in his position.
[5:58 AM]Eönwë Valar: Well it's not trying to sell me War Within anymore so I must have it, but I don't see it on my account page.
[6:03 AM]Eönwë Valar: The skyriding charges frame is electric.
[6:03 AM]Eönwë Valar: As in, looks like lightning bolts.
[6:08 AM]Eönwë Valar: Btw, apparently the new bank format isn't in the beta either.
[6:16 AM]Ar-Pharazon-V: disabled there too, eh
[7:01 AM]Eönwë Valar: Warbanks are active, but not the new personal bank that's supposed to be tabbed.
[7:22 AM]Eönwë Valar: *in beta
July 28, 2024
[3:59 PM]Varda: One minute
[4:00 PM]Varda: Aiya!
[4:00 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!
[4:01 PM]Varda: Phar!
[4:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Arien poked before she has a chance to say hi
[4:01 PM]Varda: It's raining, so if I disappear suddenly, then you'll know what happened.
[4:01 PM]Varda: haha!
[4:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: flooded away nods
[4:01 PM]Varda: @Bounder @Guild-friend Valar Guild meeting_place time! Huzzah!
[4:02 PM]Varda: grabs rubber raft
[4:03 PM]Varda: Yep, thunder. Hoping the power stays up. Here we go!
[4:03 PM]Arien Valar: aiya all :}
[4:03 PM]Varda: Aiya Sunshine! : )
[4:03 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Surely thunder means you getting more powe?
[4:03 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: *power
[4:03 PM]Varda: You'd think!
[4:03 PM]Varda: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
[4:03 PM]Eönwë Valar: Heya.
[4:04 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: If we could harvest lightning as an alternate power source...
[4:04 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!
[4:04 PM]Varda: Aiya Eonwe!
[4:04 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I mean, if Igors can do it?
[4:04 PM]Varda: We've been trying to figure that out. Catch it in small amounts? Catch and disperse swiftly into huge batteries?
[4:04 PM]Varda: More Igors!
[4:04 PM]Arien Valar: get some Stormgiants to have all year round lightning far throw olympics
[4:05 PM]Varda: We could send masses of power out all over!
[4:05 PM]Varda: Really long lines carrying the lightning strikes multiple directions.
[4:05 PM]Varda: Membership:
[4:06 PM]Varda: Everyone here say Powerrr!
[4:06 PM]Varda: Powerrr!
[4:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Maybe some sort of wiring system... ponders

[4:06 PM]Varda: (copy paste works)
[4:06 PM]Eönwë Valar: YouTube - Power!!! Unlimited POWER!
[4:06 PM]Varda: hehehe Thanks Eonwe
[4:07 PM]Varda: Now have him send that into a bank of batteries now and then. Maybe put up a Jedi target to aim at.
[4:08 PM]Varda: Arien's not into Power? : )
[4:08 PM]Varda: Web:
[4:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: No solar power today. You did say it was raining.
[4:08 PM]Varda: Also needs more power. Send something when you can.
[4:08 PM]Varda: Oh! Good point.
[4:08 PM]Varda: Gaming:
[4:08 PM]Varda: Eonwe, would you like this shiny, powerful gavel?
[4:09 PM]Eönwë Valar: Sure
[4:09 PM]Varda: gavel bounces up and down like a pogo stick
[4:09 PM]Varda: hops to Eonwe
[4:09 PM]Varda: (We are very serious here. Right?)
[4:10 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: You'd almost think we're a social group!
[4:11 PM]Treebeard: Hello
[4:11 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!
[4:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: Can anyone guess what comes next?
[4:11 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V:
[4:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: TIme's up. Here it comes :} 4:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: YouTube - He-Man transformation - I have the power
[4:12 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah

[4:16 PM]Eönwë Valar: I'm glad I've got everything I can get done with MoP Remix. I was just one boss shy of a full Throne of Thunder Heroic Solo Clear, and he's a bonus boss so maybe I shouldn't count him, heh. (edited)

[4:17 PM]Eönwë Valar: War Within Season 1 Schedule — Schedule
[4:18 PM]Eönwë Valar: Sure, I'll give it one more go. Too bad they didnt put in the workaround for the Siege of Orgrimmar fights that force you to have another person.

[4:21 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya Sandalf!
[4:21 PM]Treebeard: Hello Sandolf
[4:21 PM]Eönwë Valar: And as you might've already read, I got my War Within Collector's edition. Rather light on the physical swag, but since it was the 20th Anniversary it came with a statue (not stone). I still mourn the absence of a soundtrack.
[4:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Heh, that interface post also mentions the arachaphobia option... I tried that out with the spiders at the start of Dread Wastes this week.
[4:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Funny to see crabs with webbing.
[4:22 PM]Treebeard: Sandalf
[4:22 PM]Eönwë Valar: Bah, turned it on but forgot to go test it.

[4:27 PM]Eönwë Valar: But you probably already saw that one from Varda :}
[4:27 PM]Varda: But this is the right time to bring it up! Hantal!
[4:28 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: A legacy of Morgoth! What did you say?
[4:28 PM]Varda: Well, he did leave a really big "ring". He put a lot of power into Arda itself. Now that's a horcrux!
[4:29 PM]Eönwë Valar: That's it from me. Here's the power back: YouTube - Take it all! - Hulk (2003)
[4:29 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And Fionwe will destroy the world to destroy his foe, I recall?
[4:29 PM]Varda: Thank you - but I do share power to make it more powerful!
[4:30 PM]Eönwë Valar: ... You Tube - Original She-Ra Transformation (1985) :}
[4:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: YouTube - LEGOLAS SPEAKING 'a Balrog of Morgoth'
[4:31 PM]Varda: A bit more on LotRO:
[4:32 PM]Eönwë Valar: My kids would have no choice but to watch 80s cartoons, if I had any, lol.
[4:32 PM]Varda: Update 41: "On the Wing" should have the new hobby "birding".
[4:32 PM]Varda: Borrow some kids!
[4:32 PM]Varda: Elves will receive avatar updates the same way Man did previously.
[4:32 PM]Varda: And this lore-breaking horror:
[4:32 PM]Varda: New Legendary Servers plan to include "an additional challenge to players with Ringwraith attacks. These powerful enemies track players down, attacking when they least expect it. Stronger variants of the Ringwraiths require cooperation to take them down, with the prospect of powerful loot."
[4:33 PM]Eönwë Valar: So... blue skin and stripes? Oops, wrong Avatar.
[4:33 PM]Varda: We'll see. : )
[4:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Speaking of Avatar, I saw a certain blue-skinned lady in one of the new WoW cinematics...
[4:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: that I can't imagine them getting away with.
[4:34 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: YouTube - World of Warcraft - The War Within Official Cinematic
[4:34 PM]Varda: May have had to pay.
[4:34 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Not the one in the thumbnail.
[4:35 PM]Varda: Moves like Gollum, reaches like Gollum
[4:35 PM]Sandalf13: smells like gollum?
[4:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: A dwarf, a Diablo 4 crusader and a Na'vi. It just feels so... odd.
[4:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: A dwarf with movie Erebor technology, too.
[4:37 PM]Varda: They walked into a bar...
[4:38 PM]Sandalf13: An Elf, a Man, and Dwarf walked into a bar and met a Hobbit...
[4:38 PM]Varda: Aye, the later part is more like Avatar.
[4:38 PM]Varda: More LotRO:
[4:38 PM]Varda: June 26:
News from the Launcher: "The story of the Kindred of the Coins continues with new quests unlocking every Wednesday for two months! Speak to Belondor located in Dar Laja, the Meeting-hall to continue the story of "Tales of the Kindred!"
[4:39 PM]Varda: Fangorn and I have been duoing those quests from the Dar Laja meeting hall, and more keep coming. That's the Tales of the KIndred of the Coins
[4:39 PM]Varda: Any other gaming news? I know we play other games. : )
[4:40 PM]Varda: More LotRO:
Landroval branch
Crickhollow branch:
Treebeard branch:
[4:40 PM]Sandalf13: I played Kongregate on Ar's recommended places...
[4:40 PM]Varda: Nar will not be able to be online for about a month, but intends to be back.
[4:40 PM]Varda: Ah, neato, Sandalf. : )
[4:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Great!
[4:40 PM]Eönwë Valar: I didn't see Alleria in there, and my Arachnophobia filter didn't work on Youtube.
[4:41 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I can link you South Park's crab people scene instead, if you like.
[4:41 PM]Varda: Anyone with arachnaphobia might be uncomfortable in Lord of the Rings Online.
[4:41 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And yeah, I think the only character in there we've met before is Xalatath 😛
[4:42 PM]Varda: Gesundheit.
[4:42 PM]Sandalf13: Achoo?
[4:43 PM]Sandalf13: 😜
[4:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Xalalalalalalatath?
[4:43 PM]Eönwë Valar: Son of Asneeze.
[4:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: (WoW the Musical)
[4:44 PM]Varda: We need to move on to
[4:44 PM]Varda: Tolkien!
[4:44 PM]Varda: (before we run out of hour)
[4:44 PM]Varda: Here's a topic to start us off:
[4:45 PM]Varda: What was the main goal of the Nazgul during the War of the Rings? What else did they do during that time?
[4:45 PM]Varda: Have at it!
[4:45 PM]Sandalf13: Before we start...I wrote a poem for Eonwe's last comment...
[4:45 PM]Sandalf13: Elasneeze was an Elf man,
[4:46 PM]Sandalf13: Of some repute he was,
[4:46 PM]Sandalf13: He sneezed up a storm, and felt so forlorn,
[4:46 PM]Sandalf13: He grew himself some fuzz.
[4:48 PM]Sandalf13: That was so bad
[4:48 PM]Sandalf13: That was so bad I probably drove everyone offline! Sorry.
[4:49 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: 😄
[4:50 PM]Treebeard: The Nazgul were the Kings of Men bound to Sauron binding allies in search of the one ring to bring forth a new age after Sauron's rise.
[4:51 PM]Eönwë Valar: I should note my last comment was a reference to the Mel Brooks movie Robin Hood: Men In Tights.
[4:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Myep, their initial goal in LotR was to find the One Ring.
[4:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: and kill whoever carries it
[4:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: But they were just a bit too late every time.
[4:53 PM]Varda: Yay poetry : )
[4:54 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Well, no. They were on time at Weathertop, but didn't count on kingy man.
[4:54 PM]Sandalf13: I often wonder if the Nazgul retained any sense of self at all. If so, and they found the Ring, is it not possible that the one who found it would have tried to claim it for himself?
[4:54 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I think I read about that somewhere... with Sauron holding their nine rings, they were more bound in loyalty to him than ambitious with the One.
[4:55 PM]Treebeard: I don't believe a Raith could wear a second ring.
[4:55 PM]Eönwë Valar: Wanted to? Perhaps. Able to? No.
[4:55 PM]Sandalf13: Were they in fact wearing their Rings during the LoTR, or was Sauron holding them in his own "hands," the better to keep control of the Nazgul?
[4:56 PM]Varda: Sauron held them.
[4:56 PM]Sandalf13: Exactly.
[4:57 PM]Varda: The One Ring was an extension of Sauron himself, so it answered in truth only to him.
[4:57 PM]Treebeard: Don't you think they were bound by their original oaths of loyalty in much the same way as the traitor ghost king and his host were in the cave?
[4:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm, true. I suppose that if they'd actually gotten the Ring, they'd only have been more subservient to his presence, not less.
[4:58 PM]Varda: Intriguing comparison.
[5:00 PM]Eönwë Valar: Well, Considering that Tolkien says if Frodo claimed the Ring, the Nazgul wouldn't be much affected by that fact as far as their goals, I imagine if one of the Nazgul could claim it, he'd get jumped/detained/attempts at trickery by 8 other Nazgul.
[5:01 PM]Treebeard: 🙂
[5:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Heh, yes.
[5:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And in the end, only one remains...
[5:01 PM]Eönwë Valar: All for the purpose of getting the Ring back to Sauron; unless of course the other 8 Nazgul were in on it, then I imagine there'd eventually be infighting just like there would've been among the Free Peoples. If I had to hazard a guess, I don't think any of the Nazgul retained enough of their own will for all the backbiting such ambition would require.
[5:02 PM]Eönwë Valar: They were already Sauron's most powerful tool. In Sauron's heirarchy, they were already at the top, if such ambition mattered to them.
[5:03 PM]Sandalf13: I just posed a question...but I think that Eonwe has the right of it...
[5:05 PM]Eönwë Valar: For the Nazgul who started with more benevolent goals in mind (when they were alive and received the rings), if they retained any of that by the time they became wraiths, they might've wanted on some level to keep Sauron from getting the Ring perhaps, but they wouldn't have the will to effect it.
[5:05 PM]Varda: We have reached the hour.
[5:05 PM]Varda: the gavel hops up and down, hoping to hit the hammerpad
[5:06 PM]Varda: the hammerpad slides underneath
[5:06 PM]Varda: clonk!
[5:06 PM]Varda: After-meeting!
[5:06 PM]Varda: Free chat, even about the subject!
[5:06 PM]Treebeard: It is settled then, great story, nice plot, many heroes. . . See y'all next time.
[5:07 PM]Varda: Collect the One Ring and take it to Sauron.
Destroy the major enemies of Sauron's forces.
Air cover and attack, fear sent out as a weapon.
[5:07 PM]Varda: Thank you for coming, Fangorn!
[5:07 PM]Sandalf13: At Mount Orodruin, once the Ring was destroyed in the basaltic (? - who knows what Tolkien was thinking about the magam..) magma, the Nazful fell like flaming firebolts out of the sky...suggesting that like their Master, Sauron, they too were goners...4
[5:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In an earlier draft, one of them would actually be blocking the way out, as I recall.
[5:09 PM]Eönwë Valar: And 2 generations later, the children of Gondor dressed like orcs. Sauron wins.
[5:09 PM]Sandalf13: Good thing it was only a draft...I suspect that once the Ring was gone, so was whatever force it was that was holding the Nazgul together...along with Saurobn.
[5:09 PM]Sandalf13: The kids today dress like Orcs, no?
[5:10 PM]Sandalf13: Sort of stylish for them, I think.
[5:10 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Well, you can larp as an orc, I'm sure 😄
[5:10 PM]Sandalf13: larp?
[5:11 PM]Varda: Live Action Role-Play
[5:11 PM]Sandalf13: May I post a few pix from today's hike? Including one that I am sure you have all been breathlessly waiting for...
[5:11 PM]Sandalf13: Thank you.
[5:11 PM]Varda: Sure. It's After the Meeting
[5:12 PM]Sandalf13: OK. Kruger Rock. Elevation around 9,600 feet. I climb I have been waiting to make for OVER 40 years. Finally did it today, with my friend Eric. Image
[5:12 PM]Arien Valar: i ll have to go .. and hop actually first in the bathroom and then into the bed
[5:12 PM]Varda: Namarie, Arien!
[5:13 PM]Sandalf13: A great view of the Sleeping Indian Maiden (the Mummy Range) to the north Image
[5:13 PM]Arien Valar: but i ll look at your pics tomorrow , Sandy ::)
[5:13 PM]Sandalf13: Thanks, Arien, and Namarie!
[5:13 PM]Arien Valar: oh that looks great 😄
[5:13 PM]Arien Valar: Namarie 🙂
[5:14 PM]Sandalf13: Eric and I at the Overlook above Estes Park, CO. Image
[5:14 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie Arien!
[5:14 PM]Sandalf13: Kruger Rock. Image
[5:14 PM]Sandalf13: The slot I climbed to get to the top of Kruger Rock. Image
[5:15 PM]Sandalf13: There is a Native American legend that there is a beaver trying to climb up to the summit of Longs Peak, but he never makes it...
[5:17 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: ...I'm starting to wonder how many mountain ranges are named after (female) curvature.
[5:19 PM]Sandalf13: Here it is.... Image
[5:20 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I think I can see a beaver's face in that...
[5:22 PM]Sandalf13: The convergence of five separate mountain glaciers created the "hole" that is currently occupied by Estes Park, CO. If you look in the mid-picture, you can see a typical U-shaped glacial valley...
[5:22 PM]Varda: Before I have to leave, here's a quick fun thing:
[5:22 PM]Varda: YouTube - Lord of the Rings facts to pause the movie for
[5:22 PM]Varda: I'll look back at Sandalf's amazing pics, for sure!
[5:27 PM]Sandalf13: YouTube - 90's LORD OF THE RINGS - Teaser Trailer | Mel Gibson, Sean Connery ...
[5:27 PM]Sandalf13: This one is really good, too...
[5:29 PM]Eönwë Valar: I must be off. Take care all, good night, sleep well, have fun.
[5:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, that Elrond is great
[5:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!
[5:33 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie, Eonwe! I too must leave for now...hope to catch Ar's report later. One Hundred Degrees F here today!
[5:33 PM]Sandalf13: 100 Grad F
[5:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Good luck with that!
[5:34 PM]Sandalf13: Tjhanks...but it is something I could live without...
[7:44 PM]Varda: Cool casting, there, Sandalf
[7:54 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Personal gaming report!
[7:55 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: For (non)flashgaming, something different... a game I remember being really popular on the kongregate forums after it came out, Beam Ball
[7:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: fast-paced indeed, the idea is simple, use the mouse to pass each incoming lines with a the ball of the correct color (more simple than it sounds)
[7:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: quite difficult though, since you'll need quick mouse movement and reflexes to get through the required amount of lines to get a star (up to 3) on each level
[7:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Each level has its own variation/gimmick as well!
[8:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: So enjoy, and if you do enjoy it, have fun practicing and practicing
[8:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Blizzard gaming:
[8:03 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Diablo 4: finished the seasonal questline! Took me quite a while to grind all the way up to Iron Wolf honor rank 9 (from 5), but the final quest to defeat the Blood Maiden was a nice closer after that
[8:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Getting that iron wolf honor took quite a few hours of Helltide grinding, but did get the hang of it, and ended up with a lot of legendary equipment, and leveled up all the way from level 30 to 46. Probably the highest any of my seasonal characters have gotten by the end of the questline for each season. Funny, that, since the questline itself was much shorter... just the required honor ranks that took so much playing.
[8:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Got a whole bunch more recipes as well
[8:07 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, and the final reward for defeating the Blood Maiden was a new mount trophy. Always nice!
[8:09 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hearthstone: New expansion's out! New quest event hasn't started yet, it will in a day or two. I have been doing a bunch of weekly and daily quests, though, getting all the way to level 31 on the new reward track. Good start!
[8:11 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: That got me a whole bunch of card rewards, including the legendary cheese dragon Gorgonzormu, another legendary, Ranger Gilly, and a funny little hobbit reference card I posted a picture of in Harbor
[8:12 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also the Perils in Paradise card back, which is probably one of the most unique card backs in the game, being a map of a volcanic island with the hearthstone symbol as a waterway.
[8:13 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Rather than something more artistic, symmetrical, and card-covering as most of the others.
[8:14 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I also got 2 new hero skins: the rogue skin Marshmallow Maiev, and a choice of reward skins for getting 1800 total reward track levels, for which I chose the druid skin Storm's Rage Malfurion.
[8:15 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, and got the Death Knight hero to level 47
[8:16 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I also started opening packs again now that the new expansion is out, as that'll give more new cards, rather than duplicate commons and rares. That also got me another legendary, Party Planner Vona.
[8:17 PM]Varda: timing!
[8:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Brawl is Paradise Recipe! which is kinda a tradition at the launch of each new expansion, as you get to play a new recipe deck for any class you choose. Played most of my matches with the death knight deck, which apparently revolves around a lot of deathrattles and making use of your own minions dying. Makes sense for the class!
[8:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Warcraft Rumble: Now that has been a busy game.
[8:19 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The new tribe's here for real now, Cenarion, with 5 new minis, including 2 leaders, including the leader Cenarius himself.
[8:20 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: It comes with a festival of about 3 weeks, bringing a lot of Cenarion family challenges to earn tickets, and a massive reward track to spend those tickets on, to buy the new minis, upgrade the new minis, get a few tomes, gold, and finally a legendary upgrade core.
[8:21 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Those challenges involve logging in, buying stuff for gold, unlocking the minis, upgrading the minis, fighting and attacking and killing with the minis, completing dungeon levels with the Cenarion leaders, doing arcane surges with them... lots of stuff for tickets!
[8:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Got my collection level from 37 to 39 that way, just by acquiring and upgrading Cenarion minis.
[8:24 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In the dungeon, I didn't break through level 22 with the undead leader Rivendare, but in the new Cenarion week (of course!) I have so far beaten up to level 8 with both Cenarion leaders, and will need to do the dungeon 3 more times with each to get the final tickets for the dungeons challenge.
[8:25 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In the sigil campaign, I defeated the normal difficulty fights in the new Moonglade zone. There are challenges for heroic too, but at level 26 that's a bit out of my league. Guess I won't get all the tickets
[8:26 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I did, however, get enough tickets to buy all 5 minis, go all the way down the track, and am about 1 challenge away from getting the legendary core, which is rare to get indeed, so it was a priority for me. After that I'll put tickets into getting more stars for the Cenarion minis so I can get each of them to uncommon, at least.
[8:28 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In the heroic sigil campaign, I continued in the Barrens, defeating Gazlowe with the remaining families, and getting started on Charlga Razorflank, an annoying fight that roots all your melee units just out of range. At least I'm still outleveling her at this point, though I won't try that with Cenarion minis yet, they're too low level Only need to defeat each boss with 5 of the now 6 families anyway.
[8:28 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I like the Cenarion family, and their focus on healing and endurance, but the levels aren't quite up there yet.
[8:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: As for quality upgrades, I got the warsong raider to uncommon, and the right talent for it; same for the prowler; and I got the Darkspear Troll to uncommon as well, though the talent for that one has not shown up yet. From the new Cenarion minis, I did get Cenarius to uncommon already, since that was on the main reward track path, though not seen his best talent yet either.
[8:32 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'm sure next week I'll get the other 4 to uncommon as well
[8:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, I also got to 100 sigils in the campaign, unlocking the Onyxia raid, though since she's level 30, I'll not quite go for that yet.
[8:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: WoW:
[8:34 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: CE is here! Arrived on monday, though I had to wait until tuesday to get it shipped from my parents' place to mine so I could open it Statue looking good, and I like the in-game goodies as well.
[8:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Got the Algarian Stormrider mount, and the pet-version, Squally. There's a quest from Squally to get 3 recolor pets as well, though I've not done that yet.
[8:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also a Stormrider's Attire transmog set, and 2 toys: the Deepdweller's Earthen Hearthstone, and the Sandbox Storm Gryphon.
[8:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Weekly is battlegrounds, which took a bit of time, but still got em done, fortunately.
[8:38 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Started the Harbinger questline on my main, am about halfway. Main story is a bit on the backburner, but apparently it's a requirement for the pre-patch event quest coming up, and it doesn't require the Dragonflight campaigns, so I just got going with it. Better to see it as a pre-War Within questline than a Dragonflight epilogue, anyway.
[8:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Alt-wise, I finished unlock the vulpera race on my horde main! Immediately created a vulpera as my second timerunner, World of Warcraft - Callyfozz (Argent Dawn) ❮Innovation❯ - 11 Vulpera Marksmanship Hunter, 17 ilvl
[8:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: (apparently silhouette has not been updated, maybe I'd need to log into him again)
[8:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: He's my fourth hunter, a gun-slinger with marksmanship spec, though in contrast to my other marksman, with using pet. Apparently the standard hunter pet for vulpera is a big snake, which actually kinda matches my fox's colorscheme
[8:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Fozzysnek is a good boy nods
[8:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Of course what I really want is a bear pet for the muppets reference, but I don't think that'll happen in Pandaria
[8:46 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: My main timerunner has delved into the Dread Wastes, meeting the Klaxxi, freeing a few paragons, and fighting a bunch of mantid for control of the region. There's a problem there though; the pre-patch has messed up the reputation buffs of the remix mode, and while these quests should have gotten me to exalted with the Klaxxi, I'm just shy of honored, so will need to be doing some dailies if I wish to get there.
[8:46 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Same is happening with the Landfall reputation and some others, where you get the extra reputation, but then the excess is removed again, which sometimes is 90%.
[8:47 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Which is why I'm not going to tackle Landfall yet, instead I will be focusing on the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and Thunder Isle, since those reputations apparently were never buffed in the first place.
[8:47 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And hopefully they'll fix the reputation before it's too late, allowing me to finish Klaxxi, and Landfall as well.
[8:48 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In the meantime I'll probably also do some raiding, and quest with Fozz as well, since he can just do the earlier zones with little difficulty.
[8:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And that's my report for the week! Next week it's finishing the harbinger, checking out the pre-expansion event, and doing more timerunning
[8:50 PM]Varda: Sounds fun : )
[8:50 PM]Varda: Thanks!
[8:51 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm, it should be
[8:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Well, namarie!
[8:57 PM]Varda: Namarie!
Thus ends this week's meeting. Come back and see us next week!
