5:00pm Eastern Time

Discord: Valar Guild/meeting_place

Before-Meeting

[4:00 AM]Eönwë Valar: Arg, even waiting a few weeks/couple of months to do this quest with Alleria, there's still a bunch of people on it.

[4:02 PM]Léod: Hallo!

[4:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!

[4:03 PM]Eönwë Valar: Heya.

[4:03 PM]Eönwë Valar: We'll begin the meeting shortly.

[4:05 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya All! Just got back from another tremendous hike in the foothills....higher this time, we started hiking at 9,500 feet and got up over 11,700 before we turned around and hgeaded back. Photos attached.

[4:06 PM]Sandalf13: Discord images

[4:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Good weather for it

[4:06 PM]Sandalf13: Discord images

[4:08 PM]Eönwë Valar: Nice scenery

[4:08 PM]Sandalf13: Thank you...

[4:08 PM]Eönwë Valar: @Bounder Meeting Beginning!

[4:09 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Is that snow, or something else?

[4:09 PM]Sandalf13: It is snow, of course...

[4:09 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Could've been quartz or something, I dunno

[4:09 PM]Sandalf13: I saved the picture in my files as "Snow in July"

[4:09 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: hehe

[4:10 PM]Sandalf13: This snow forms the permanent snowfield, which, as it melts in the summer, feeds the headwaters of the South Branch of Clear Creek...that in turn flows down to Golden, and is the "Rocky Mtn Spring Water"used to brew Coors beer.

[4:12 PM]Sandalf13: The North American Continental Divide, that separates the waters flowing into the Atlantic from those flowing into the Pacific, is just behind the ridge on the picture to the above left.

[4:14 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: So that'd basically be the highest part of the continent, then?

[4:15 PM]Eönwë Valar: OK, let's go ahead and begin the meeting.

[4:15 PM]Sandalf13: Part of it, yes....although the tallest peak in Colorado is WEST of the Divide...And the tallest mountain in North America is Denali, in Alaska...well to the west of the Continental Divide. In Colorado, the C.D. follows a sinuous ridge, generally at an altitude of 12,500 to 13,000 feet above MSL.

Meeting Starts

[4:16 PM]Eönwë Valar: Elen Sila Lumenn Omentielvo!

Membership

[4:16 PM]Eönwë Valar: Membership:

[4:17 PM]Eönwë Valar: See above for Sandalf's :}

[4:17 PM]Eönwë Valar: I suspect Varda was affected by Beryl's move through Texas. [Note: correct. Electricity was completely out from Monday well into Sunday today. Showed up in After-meeting.]

[4:17 PM]Sandalf13: Sounds about right...

[4:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Personally I'm going on vacation on tuesday, but I'll be back on saturday, so no meeting missed

[4:18 PM]Sandalf13: Enjoy your vacation!

[4:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Visiting the parents who are going there for... 4 weeks, I think.

[4:18 PM]Sandalf13: I did send a message to Varda after I read about Beryl moving through Houston...and I never heard a word back....so they may be without power!

[4:19 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also, not sure if this counts as news, but I bought myself an acupressure mat, it's working quite nicely

[4:19 PM]Eönwë Valar: Congrats.

[4:19 PM]Sandalf13: That is news...good luck with it!

[4:19 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah, makes sense. Didn't get an email from Varda either.

[4:21 PM]Eönwë Valar: Thoughts and prayers for Varda, Fangorn, Sauron, Bilbo, Merry, and Elwing.

[4:21 PM]Sandalf13: Amen

[4:21 PM]Eönwë Valar: Oops, almost forgot: Everyone here say "Frodo Lives" to be counted for the roll.

[4:21 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'll settle for hopes and wishes

[4:21 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Frodo Lives

[4:22 PM]Sandalf13: Frodo lives

[4:22 PM]Léod: Frodo Lives!

[4:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: It's aliiiiiive

[4:22 PM]Eönwë Valar: You don't want to think about Varda, Phar? :}

[4:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I prefer to hope!

[4:23 PM]Eönwë Valar: Anyway, so that's Phar, Sandalf, Leod, and Eonwë for the roll.

[4:23 PM]Sandalf13: Anyone hear from Arien?

[4:23 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah, right, just poked her in WoW

[4:27 PM]Eönwë Valar: Nothing, yet.

[4:27 PM]Arien Valar: nice song

[4:27 PM]Sandalf13: Very. I remember watching the movie with my kids.

[4:27 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah yes, tomorrow.. the day that always approaches but is never here.

[4:28 PM]Sandalf13: Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in its petty pace to the last syllable of recorded time, and all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death...

[4:28 PM]Arien Valar: today is the tomorrow of all our yesterdays , Sandalf

[4:28 PM]Arien Valar: never forget that

[4:29 PM]Sandalf13: Yes...but quoting Shakespeare is always worth it!

[4:29 PM]Arien Valar: of cours

[4:29 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Do yesterdays exist, or are they just part of our imaginative memories?

[4:29 PM]Arien Valar: who knows , ask Chromie about it!

[4:30 PM]Arien Valar: when tomorrow is yesterday or maybe last year or is it next year after all?

Gaming

[4:30 PM]Eönwë Valar: Gaming:

[4:30 PM]Sandalf13: What a relief.

[4:34 PM]Eönwë Valar: Any other Gaming news?

[4:35 PM]Léod: I am SO done with King's Gondor, let me on a ship already.

[Note: LotRO]

[4:36 PM]Arien Valar: my cata classic shammy just hit 85 and i am levelling some of my retail toons that they can carry on the storry in The War Within and for rp of course

[4:36 PM]Arien Valar: since we follow and include game content in our rp

[4:36 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Not exactly news, but I entered Guild Wars after about a year just to see if it was still online, and it is

[4:37 PM]Eönwë Valar: I did the Alleria quests last night. Surprised to still find so many people trying to complete it at the hour I was on.

[4:37 PM]Eönwë Valar: Also unlocked the Red Eredar look for Draenei.

[4:37 PM]Léod: Well, as long as we are sharing: I have been consistently playing BDO and am enjoying it more than any other of my games lately.

[4:37 PM]Eönwë Valar: Or did the Heritage quests, which I'm under the impression should do that. I should go check.

[4:39 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Might be 2 different questlines, Eonwe. I think red eredar were implemented earlier in the expansion.

[4:39 PM]Eönwë Valar: Nope, that didn't unlock it I guess. Now I have to figure out what I missed.

[4:39 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Heritage is just the armor etc.

[4:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In fact, I recall reading the red eredar are referenced in the heritage quests.

[4:40 PM]Eönwë Valar: Dug through my main's quest log where I thought the quest was, but didn't see anything in there like it. Oh well, I'll figure it out.

[4:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: nods

[4:40 PM]Eönwë Valar: Yes they are. Was surprised to have no lead-in dialogue for it, so I guess yeah, it would canonically had to have been some time before that they were let in.

[4:42 PM]Eönwë Valar: Ok, if there's no other gaming news, on to...

Tolkien

[4:42 PM]Eönwë Valar: Tolkien:

[4:42 PM]Eönwë Valar: Did we have any topics undiscussed from last week?

[4:42 PM]Arien Valar: i ve got the information about Sandalf 's question last week what was first genealogy or maps

[4:43 PM]Arien Valar: from the introduction of "Tolkien Treasures" which was the book accompanying the Tolkien exhibition in Oxford

[4:44 PM]Arien Valar: The answer is , friends, that the languages were first invented by the master.

[4:44 PM]Arien Valar: he then thought: what point in languages if there is no world and history for them?

[4:45 PM]Arien Valar: so he invented the universe around the languages

[4:45 PM]Arien Valar: And genealogies were also a playground for the development and experimentation with languages

[4:46 PM]Sandalf13: That sounds right on, Arien...but as I thought about it, I began to think that Tolkien's genealogies and his literary conpositions (Sil, LoTR, Hobbit...and so on) sort of co-evolved, one influencing the other...

[4:46 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Myes, they do seem like parallel developments, both originating from languages.

[4:46 PM]Arien Valar: Also they were a reflection on the hobbits passion for their family trees and of course the dwarves as well

[4:47 PM]Sandalf13: Yes. Perhaps he was writing in a new character somewhere, and said to himself.." I really need to figure out the origin (genealogy) of this new character..."

[4:47 PM]Eönwë Valar: Varda's quotes last week from the Letters that Tolkien wrote himself say it started with the language.

[4:48 PM]Arien Valar: Aye

[4:48 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I mentioned then I'd check the movie, but haven't watched it yet

[4:48 PM]Sandalf13: That is true...my question was only referring to the connecdtion between the genealogies and the actual text of the Legendarium...

[4:48 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: They're paralalalelel!

[4:49 PM]Arien Valar: just a confirmation , Eonwe naught more. as I said the forms of nemes changed over time depending on the time the owner of the name lived in . s

[4:50 PM]Sandalf13: My 11th Grade (Junior Year, High school) trigonometry teacher once chastised the entire class for not spelling parallel correctly...she was pretty upset with us.

[4:50 PM]Arien Valar: because as you know the history of a people influences the language of the country they live in and eventually their own

[4:51 PM]Eönwë Valar: Yeah, should be able to spell parrylal kurrektlee by the firsty-first grade.

[4:51 PM]Sandalf13: That is exactlly what Wilhelm Humboldt and his brother Alexander thought, too.

[4:51 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: don't forget the parallelepiped

[4:51 PM]Sandalf13: I will admit I was pretty stupid in 11th grade...

[4:52 PM]Arien Valar: well 16 year olds are not that wise anyway in general

[4:52 PM]Sandalf13: Sort of stuck with me, too...thanks...you are right, Arien.

[4:52 PM]Léod: Having worked with teens for a large part of my life, I can tell you that they think they are.

[4:53 PM]Arien Valar: oh yeah i figured that out in the meantime dry

[4:53 PM]Eönwë Valar: Better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. -- or --

[4:53 PM]Léod: My constant refrain was to kindly tell them that their brains weren't finished yet, and they had a while to go.

[4:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hindsight, eh? I'm sure when I look back at today when I'm about 50, I'll also be thinking, what the heck was I thinking 10 years ago?

[4:53 PM]Eönwë Valar: It is better to slip with the foot than with the tongue.

[4:54 PM]Sandalf13: I definitely still belong to the "slow-learner" class...it takes a long time for something to sink in, in my case.

[4:54 PM]Sandalf13: Especially something like gaming....he he

[4:54 PM]Arien Valar: As long as it works , it doesn t matter how long it takes to sink in , Sandalf

[4:54 PM]Sandalf13: True! And you are too generous with me!

[4:55 PM]Arien Valar: bows

[4:55 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: My brain is like tar... things sink in, but it's messy getting it back out!

[4:55 PM]Arien Valar: now then where were we, Eonwe?

[4:55 PM]Eönwë Valar: I think we were rambling :}

[4:56 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: rumbling and rambling

[4:56 PM]Eönwë Valar: Before that it seems we've concluded last week's topic.

[4:56 PM]Arien Valar: that was just the after ramble from last week but i think we covered that

[4:56 PM]Sandalf13: Since we are rambling, I really think Tolkien would have enjoyed the hikes up in the Rockies...

[4:56 PM]Sandalf13: Now there is a conversation starter: Tolkien's favorite hiking localities/trails....

[4:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: He knew his way around a mountain, at least!

[4:57 PM]Eönwë Valar: YouTube - Led Zeppelin - Topic Ramble On (Remaster)

[4:58 PM]Arien Valar: YouTube - Misty Mountains (Cold) Full Song And Scene With Lyrics

[4:58 PM]Eönwë Valar: YouTube - Led Zeppelin - Misty Mountain Hop (Official Audio)

[4:59 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I remember you... in the mountains...

[4:59 PM]Eönwë Valar: Don't recall specific trails Tolkien liked, but I have a sense that he talked about it in one of his letters.

[5:00 PM]Sandalf13: While not related to the characters of Holmes or Aragorn, several other intriguing tidbits need to be considered before closing this essay. Carter tells us that Tolkien (Carter (1997) often referred to Tolkien using one of his given names, Ronald] attended King Edward's School in Birmingham before moving on to Exeter College at Oxford. The Summer Term of 1911 was Tolkien's last at King Edward's. In the summer holiday that followed, he made a trip to Switzerland with his brother Hilary and the Brookes-Smith family that Hilary was living with as he worked on their farm. Backpacking their way through Switzerland, the group made their way to Meiringen. It is hard to believe that Tolkien didn't think of Holmes' titanic struggle with Professor Moriarity as he stared into the depths of Reichenbach Falls. ...from my Chapter A Case of Influence: Aragorn as Sherlock Holmes...

[5:01 PM]Léod: I'm afraid I have to leave. Thank you for the meeting.

[5:01 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie, Leod!

[5:01 PM]Eönwë Valar: Good to see you Leod. Take care.

[5:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: namarie!

[5:01 PM]Léod: All of you too!

[5:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Imagine going to Switzerland and not liking mountains!

[5:02 PM]Eönwë Valar: As I have to start wrapping up on time today, I end the meeting with this: weighty Words from a Hobbit's lament of Gandalf's fall.

[5:03 PM]Eönwë Valar: "The finest rockets ever seen:/ they burst in stars of blue and green"

[5:04 PM]Sandalf13: Why are blue fireworks so rare? Bright blue fireworks are far more challenging to produce than common colors like red, white, or green. The issue is that the chemical compound that makes that brilliant blue is more fragile that that of other colors, breaking down at high temperatures.

[5:04 PM]Eönwë Valar: Raises gavel into the air.

[5:04 PM]Sandalf13: From Wiki...

[5:04 PM]Eönwë Valar: Bangs Gavel.

[5:05 PM]Eönwë Valar: We are now in

After-Meeting

[5:05 PM]AfterMeeting:

[5:05 PM]Feel free to continue to chat, or to go about your day as necessary :}

[5:05 PM]Sandalf13: Keep your fingers off the stike plate, when banging the gavel...

[5:06 PM]Sandalf13: I shall return later for Ar's report....Namarie for now, guests coming for dinner (including several RAMBUNCTIOUS children) and I have got to prepare...

[5:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie, enjoy

[5:06 PM]Eönwë Valar: Have fun.

[5:07 PM]Eönwë Valar: I'll leave this clip since Sherlock Holmes came up: YouTube - Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011) - Holmes vs. Moriarty Sce...

[5:09 PM]Eönwë Valar: Goes nicely with one of last week's discussions as well.

[5:17 PM]Arien Valar: Namarie my friends

[5:17 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!

[5:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: So the celestial of courage's temple keeps watch over the sha of fear, the temple of the celestial of hope over the sha of despair... how did I not notice that before?

[5:46 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Of course, wisdom and doubt might not be totally opposite, and strength probably does not oppose anger and hatred...

[6:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: gets a Muskpaw Calf pet

[6:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: calls it Elon

[8:05 PM]Sandalf13: Hallo, y'all!!!!

[9:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Personal gaming report;:

[9:08 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya!

[9:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: For (non)flashgaming, let's start with Kongregate - FireBlob

[9:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!

[9:09 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: A short platformer, similar to others from the same maker I've linked now and then.

[9:10 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: 28 small levels, where you move a fireblob across the level, setting fire to all the piles of wood.

[9:11 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Special platforms are made of iceblocks, which melt when you touch them from below or walk over them. Use this to make your way through, but also watch your timing and sometimes your speed, as the ground may melt below your feet

[9:12 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And watch out for enemy blobs and spikes!

[9:13 PM]Sandalf13: Yeah...tough things, aren't they?

[9:13 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: hehe

[9:17 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Blizzard gaming:

[9:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Diablo 4: Did another seasonal quest with Calvorgius, after grinding Iron Wolves honor rank from 1 to 5. The honor grinding took the longest, really. Lots of running around helltides, fighting enemies, killing elites, opening chests. But still done within a few hours, so that's not bad.

[9:22 PM]Sandalf13: Not too bad, Ar!

[9:23 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Sorry, getting the timeline straight... after reaching rank 5, I got a quest to hunt down another lost Iron Wolf mercenary in a special one-time dungeon, the Pine Passage

[9:24 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Finding out this one too was seduced by a demonic offer and turned into a Hellborne, we turned in the information, and that just leaves one quest for the Blood Maiden, but for that I'll need to grind to rank 9 first.

[9:25 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Along the way I went from level 14 to level 30, as well, mostly from the helltides.

[9:28 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: At level 15 I got a special rogue quest to unlock specializations, taking me into another dungeon to find a lost rogue trying to find an ancient artifact. After finding her corpse and putting her spirit to rest, I did not get to keep the artifact, but I did get the specializations. Of the 3, I'm going with combo points for now, with basic abilities buffing the next core ability. Quite useful!

[9:29 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I also started picking up a lot of manuals/recipes that apply random affixes to your gear, which is apparently part of the new gearing system. I'm not a fan of it though, since the application is random and you get only a limited amount of rerolls, so you can mess up a piece of gear that way.

[9:29 PM]Sandalf13: Sounds pretty complex.

[9:29 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'm sure it'll make sense (to me) with further practice

[9:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hearthstone: Not much news, got to level 168 on the reward track. Pretty sure it's the highest I've gotten so far, which makes sense, as the new expansion comes out in a week

[9:34 PM]Sandalf13: Sounds as if Hearthstone is getting pretty routine for you.

[9:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Tavern Brawl is Too Many Portals!, choose a class, get some spells and a bunch of portals to use. Doesn't really matter what class you use, though some like mage do make use of the spell nature.

[9:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Well I've been playing it for years, and while I'm still making progress, not every week hits a milestone

[9:35 PM]Sandalf13: And good luck in your future efforts!

[9:36 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Thanks!

[9:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Warcraft Rumble: No new collection level yet, though only one point away

[9:37 PM]Sandalf13: Oooooops....got to run. Busy week ahead. I fy to New York on Wed at 0600, get in at 1000 EST. Travel to Boston on Friday for a memorial service for my cousin on Saturday, then immediately drive back to NY. Leave LaGuardia Airport at 0615 and get back to Denver at 0815 MST (1015 EST). Busy times. Hope to get to the beach on Thursday afternoon...mal sehen.

[9:38 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: No new dungeon level on Tirion in the alliance week, though I did get Drakkisath through level 19 in Blackrock week.

[9:38 PM]Sandalf13: 2,000+ miles from Denver to NYC.

[9:38 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah, yes, good travels! And condolences.

[9:39 PM]Sandalf13: Thank you. You take care of yourself, and take time to smell the roses....maybe tulips?

[9:39 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie, until next week.

[9:39 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Actually passed a rose garden earlier this week, and did take time to smell them, but couldn't smell anything. Apparently it was the wrong kind.

[9:39 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!

[9:40 PM]Sandalf13: I understand that tulips do not smell too much, either.

[9:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Not that I've noticed, no.

[9:40 PM]Sandalf13: Sei gesund

[9:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: You too!

[9:41 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In the heroic sigil campaign, I completed Baron Revilgaz with all families, completing Stranglethorn Vale, and putting me at 95 sigils. Next up is the Barrens, where the first boss is another goblin: Gazlowe, who I've now defeated with 2 families.

[9:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Feels like the campaign levels are catching up to my own mini's levels, I wonder how long before I have to stop and wait for higher levels.

[9:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Still at least 4 levels ahead though.

[9:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Did get a few quality upgrades, getting Jaina to uncommon as the last of the leaders, and getting talents for her, for the frostwolf shaman and for the holy nova spell. At this point, none of my minis are looking for a new talent, so it's back to upgrading their quality first.

[9:46 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: WoW: Still raidbreak, at least until the next expansion

[9:46 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Though I did a LFR raid at one point!

[9:48 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Mostly did alting, which helped me complete the trading post currency for July, the visiting of which was one of my few activities on the main

[9:49 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Got 2 pets there, Trishi the mini naga and Blub the fish, and bought the tabard as always, Classic Deep theme this time.

[9:50 PM]Varda: Aiya : )

[9:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also got 2 weapons I liked the look of, the Riptide Staff - a purple recolor of the squid staff I used back in Cataclysm - and the Riptide Gut Puncher, a fist weapon with a similar squiddy aesthetic.

[9:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The staff might fit my purple void transmog set

[9:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!

[9:50 PM]Varda: Coordinated purple outfit and weapon. Sounds good.

[9:52 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Maybe I should get a picture

[9:52 PM]Varda: Maybe so!

[10:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Here we go, with the new staff! [Discord image]

[10:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Right. The alting!

[10:03 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Sent my horde main Calkin to Suramar for the next part of the Vulpera unlock, helping out the horde assistants at the vintner to more efficiently make Arcwine. After that was done, just a few wrap-up quests remain to get the new allied race!

[10:03 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And the rest of the time was spent on Calvirona, my timerunner.

[10:04 PM]Varda: (purple staff does go with the overall)

[10:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: She's finished up questing in Kun-lai Summit, and then went on to do the other achievements for the zone, and some group content, including hunting down 3 rares and some treasures, ultimately getting the meta-achievement for the zone which gave her Chen Stormstout's Bamboo Hat as an appearance, both as a hat on head and worn on the back as a cloak. And yes, you can use both at the same time to have 2 hats

[10:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: She did 3 scenarios as well, Inga Ungoo, the Brewmoon Festival, and the Crypt of Forgotten Kings on normal difficulty. The first and third she could solo with some effort, but one of the sub-bosses at the Brewmoon required her to find a group.

[10:07 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, and she soloed a fourth as well, Arena of Annihilation. Was a bit worried about that, but with a lot of running away and dodging spells she managed it

[10:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And after that she finished up the zone entirely by visiting the raid Mogu'shan Vaults in Raidfinder mode, getting all zone-specific achievements done!

[10:09 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: (Oh, and Calkin got me a new toy at the vintner's, Nomi's Vintage)

[10:11 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Calvirona went on to the Townlong Steppes, getting all the questlines done there: Defeating the yaungol army that was besieging the gate, chasing down the Sha of Hatred through a massacred yaungol village, and ultimately a mantid hive, and finally fighting off the mantid at 2 places on the southern border as well as the west side near Niuzao's Temple.

[10:12 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: She also got to exalted with the Shado-pan, with increased reputation gains that basically meant getting exalted just by doing the main quests, and got 3 rare mobs along the way, so that's another achievement complete.

[10:13 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Next up will be finishing that zone as well with some exploration and group-content, and then it's onward to the Dread Wastes. But since I'll be going on a midweek vacation this week, I don't know if that'll get started before the next meeting She did get the meta-achievement for the zone complete, though, getting a new pet, the Muskpaw Calf I mentioned earlier.

[10:13 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And that's my report for the week!
