May 8, 2024
[3:18 PM]Ungwetari: Hey everyone! I wanted to give you a bit of an update! 2 weeks ago today I had my SRS, and while immediate recovery has been a bit rocky, I'm doing pretty well and overall it's headed in the right direction! I'm incredibly happy that things went well, and as far as I can tell under all the swellings, it looks amazing. And that is on top of the amazing feeling of finally being equipped with the right tools.
[3:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Great!
[7:22 PM]Varda: Here's hoping your recovery lets you be active again in comfort soon.
May 12, 2024
[2:05 AM]Eönwë Valar: Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers of the Valar Guild.
[3:52 PM]Varda: Thank you on behalf of the moms. : )
[3:52 PM]Varda: And Happy Mother's Day!
[3:52 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Happy Mother's day to all mothers!
[3:52 PM]Varda: And that! : )
[3:59 PM]Treebeard: I agree with Eönwë Valar in support and honor to all mothers
[4:00 PM]Varda: Aiya!
[4:01 PM]Varda: Mothers everywhere loving their families. And families loving them as part of the family group. Yay!
[4:01 PM]Treebeard: Yay . . . we have electricity for now. Cheer to all Valar Guild members, etc.
[4:01 PM]Varda: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
[4:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Grats on the power
[4:01 PM]Varda: We are happy to have power again, enough to come be with you all for the meeting!
[4:02 PM]Varda: Before-meeting had our Happy Mother's Day! : )
[4:02 PM]Varda: Ungwetari is in the healing process. We hope he can game a lot while recuperating.
[4:03 PM]Varda: So far, howdies from Eonwe, Phar, Fangorn, and Varda.
[4:03 PM]Varda: @Guild-friend @Bounder Valar Guild Meeting Time! Happy Mother's Day!
[4:03 PM]Varda: There's the general poke.
[4:04 PM]Varda: Anyone else we can poke? Arien? Others? : )
[4:04 PM]Varda: Any membership news?
[4:04 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Arien poked
[4:04 PM]Varda: Phar, you were in the process of a birthday?
[4:04 PM]Varda: Thanks!
[4:04 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also, Ungwetari's specifically a she now, not a he
[4:05 PM]Varda: Oops, thanks for the reminder. Met her when a he and keep thinking that way, pardon.
[4:05 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm, well, I did have my family over last sunday, so prior to our last meeting, nothing special this week
[4:05 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Though I do believe Fladrif's was a few days later!
[4:05 PM]Varda: Yay for family.
[4:05 PM]Varda: Birthday Buddies!
[4:05 PM]Arien Valar: Aiya , and happy Mother s day
[4:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm, not trying to be all social justice here, just thought it funny given what the specific operation was for.
[4:06 PM]Varda: Aiya Sunshine! ☼
[4:06 PM]Varda: It was a good reminder. Thanks.
[4:06 PM]Varda: And good point. : )
[4:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya Arien
[4:06 PM]Treebeard: Hello
[4:07 PM]Varda: Any other membership news? Sightings of Aragorn, Helm?
[4:07 PM]Varda: other?
[4:07 PM]Arien Valar: Aiya , sorry was just still afk when u poked , Phari
[4:07 PM]Varda: Of course our LotRO sightings will be mentioned
[4:07 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: 's fine, Arien
[4:07 PM]Varda: Web:
[4:08 PM]Varda: No new content to report for this past week.
[4:08 PM]Varda: This is partly due to my not reaching outside the guild so much for content in a good while.
[4:08 PM]Léod: Aiya and 'allo!
[4:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!
[4:08 PM]Varda: Aiya Leod! Good to see you.
[4:08 PM]Treebeard: Hello
[4:09 PM]Varda: Fangorn and I saw Leod a bit earlier, a warden in LotRO. : )
[4:09 PM]Léod: Still on him!
[4:09 PM]Varda: March warden? : )
[4:09 PM]Varda: Yay!
[4:09 PM]Varda: Sorry we crashed - lost power.
[4:09 PM]Léod: Oh, I'm sorry.
[4:10 PM]Varda: No worries. We're back now.
[4:10 PM]Varda: No Eonwe though?
[4:10 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Not in the list.
[4:10 PM]Varda: Storm may be knocking his power out now.
[4:10 PM]Varda: Tornadoes in it, so you know it's a doozy.
[4:11 PM]Varda: Gaming:
[4:11 PM]Varda: Feel free to toss in your general news as we go along in gaming, even if I may have passed that game already. The order isn't that terribly important, just easier to find later, heh.
[4:12 PM]Varda: World of Warcraft:
[4:12 PM]Varda: (Type fast!)
[4:12 PM]Varda: This week's bonus events: Dragonflight Dungeons.
[4:12 PM]Léod: Oh, I know other people have said it already, but: Happy Mother's Day, mothers!
[4:12 PM]Varda: This week's PvP Brawl: Deep Six.
[4:12 PM]Varda: Thank you from the mothers, Leod. : )
[4:13 PM]Varda: The Spring Balloon Festival ends today.
[4:13 PM]Treebeard: Eowyn is planning on gaming with us some time after the meeting. She is eating pizza for mother's day. Did Hobbits have pizza?
[4:13 PM]Varda: Some form, maybe? They had the big wood ovens, so might have been quite good.
[4:13 PM]Varda: Check out This Week in WoW.
[4:14 PM]Varda: This Week in WoW: May 10, 2024

[4:17 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Good luck to everyone going in there
[4:17 PM]Varda: Thanks! And good luck!

4:17 PM]Varda: Diablo Immortal:
[4:18 PM]Varda: Check out the latest hotfixes.
[4:18 PM]Varda: I don't see Pallando to pester for Eve Online news.
[4:19 PM]Varda: But this past week, Pallando and Sauron played Eve that I know of.
[4:19 PM]Varda: Starcraft 2:
[4:19 PM]Cenedra: Heya
[4:19 PM]Varda: Aiya!
[4:19 PM]Léod: Aiya!
[4:19 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!
[4:19 PM]Varda: Cenedra aka Eowyn, Fangorn, Floppa, and Faramir played Starcraft 2 that I know of. Others of you as well. : )
[4:20 PM]Varda: Thanks for coming in!
[4:20 PM]Varda: We now have two of the Rohirrim: Eowyn and Leod. : )
[4:20 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya All! Sorry to be late...Happy Mother's Day, Varda! (and Arien?)
[4:20 PM]Cenedra: I do love SC2. I've been playing Diablo 4 also.
[4:20 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!
[4:20 PM]Varda: Aiya Sandalf!
[4:21 PM]Varda: Good to hear, Eowyn. : )
[4:21 PM]Cenedra: <— Eowyn
[4:21 PM]Sandalf13: And Cenedra?
[4:22 PM]Cenedra: Yes, I have a 10yr old boy. Varda's grandson.
[4:22 PM]Varda: She is an amazing mother to him. : )
[4:22 PM]Varda: Floppa
[4:22 PM]Sandalf13: Well then,,,,Happy Mother's Day, as I suspected...
[4:23 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Is that the "macaroni art" age for mother's days?
[4:23 PM]Cenedra: Yeah, but he mostly sticks to cooking
[4:23 PM]Varda: The macaroni art of cooked noodles.
[4:24 PM]Cenedra: He made some canned salmon with Cajun seasoning today in a pot. It was nice.
[4:24 PM]Treebeard: Hi ya Cenedra/Eowyn
[4:24 PM]Sandalf13: With homemade pasta sauce...yum....
[4:24 PM]Cenedra: Hi!
[4:24 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: 10 year old chef, I'm impressed.
[4:24 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'm 39 and only just now learning to cook
[4:24 PM]Sandalf13: Indeed. Chef's hat off to him
[4:24 PM]Varda: Fangorn is Eowyn's dad, so Floppa's grandpa.
[4:25 PM]Treebeard: Aiya Everyone... didn't mean to leave out anyone
[4:25 PM]Varda: Poor forgotten Everyone.
[4:25 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Typical Treebeard, taking forever to say hello.
[4:25 PM]Sandalf13: He was busy at the Ent Bank...
[4:26 PM]Varda: News for Lord of the Rings Online:
[4:26 PM]Varda: We had the Wednesday maintenance. Also known as time to look up from the computer.
[4:26 PM]Varda: LotRO players in our kin branches this past week:
Landroval branch
Crickhollow branch:
Treebeard branch:
[4:27 PM]Varda: Any other gaming news? Membership news? Requests? Comments?
[4:27 PM]Varda: LotRO: Free Regeneration Food x5 Coupon Code: GOODFOOD until May 16
[4:28 PM]Varda: Don't forget to check the kin chest for things your characters might use.
[4:28 PM]Varda: On to
[4:28 PM]Varda: Tolkien!
[4:29 PM]Varda: We need to revisit a question. : )
[4:29 PM]Varda: We need another try at anniversary themes for our 27th anniversary.
[4:29 PM]Arien Valar: and what question is that :O?
[4:29 PM]Varda: Need to get ten solid ones for the poll vote.
Previously suggested:
[4:30 PM]Varda: and pardon the misspelling, oops.
[4:30 PM]Arien Valar: Navigation
[4:30 PM]Arien Valar: i mean Sea -faring
[4:30 PM]Varda: The reek is that way, and orcs coming from that way. Aim the Ring that direction.
[4:31 PM]Varda: Sea navigation did meet some complications.
[4:31 PM]Varda: Numenoreans, it's ok to sail anywhere except to Valinor. So of course, humans, just have to go that way.
[4:32 PM]Varda: These topics need to be good for art, stories, articles. Most of them look as if our creative lot can handle them.
[4:32 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: We never listen.
[4:32 PM]Varda: Listen just to find the way not to go and point that direction? : )
[4:33 PM]Varda: Must be the best goodies in that direction!
[4:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: It's no fun otherwise!
[4:33 PM]Varda: Don't touch that hot pot! owww! Why did you touch it? You said not to.
[4:34 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I can also sympathize from a scientific mind. Why retread the same continents when there's something unknown to the other side to explore?
[4:34 PM]Varda: Yep. : )
[4:34 PM]Varda: But they went to Aman looking for eternal life. They thought they knew what they could gain there.
[4:35 PM]Varda: But it was the immortals already living there, not a property of the place.
[4:35 PM]Varda: We can have ten topics. Are any of the above some that need removed from the choices?
[4:35 PM]Varda: We have something like 15
[4:36 PM]Varda: Then there can be only one... 4:36 PM]Sandalf13: Can you repost the topics in a convenient list?
[4:36 PM]Varda: It's above in a convenient list. Scroll up.
Previously suggested:
[4:37 PM]Varda: And re-posting.
[4:37 PM]Varda: (combined the two in geology as one)
[4:37 PM]Varda: Any Tolkien Race is a sneaky way past the numbers but we would need to pick just one of those.
[4:38 PM]Treebeard: Cave crystalline formations was mentioned as a sight seeing activity once
[4:38 PM]Varda: : )
[4:38 PM]Varda: Gimli would approve.
[4:39 PM]Varda: Singing and Dwarven Singing could combine under Singing
[4:39 PM]Sandalf13: That would also then include the Music of the Ainur, no?
[4:39 PM]Varda: Agriculture would be a really different one for us.
[4:40 PM]Varda: Aye, it would.
[4:41 PM]Varda: Gems and Jewelry could be a single one.
[4:42 PM]Varda: Well, it already shows it is, pardon.
[4:42 PM]Varda: Is Walking Trees too specific? Be tough to show in Eve Online space game screenies.
[4:43 PM]Sandalf13: Do we get to rank order the choices, and then you average out the results?
[4:43 PM]Varda: Passwords might combine with Riddles.
[4:43 PM]Varda: Our group needs to cut it to ten.
[4:43 PM]Varda: Then we put up a poll.
[4:43 PM]Varda: Top polled topic gets to be theme.
[4:43 PM]Varda: Might need a run-off.
[4:44 PM]Varda: A poll can only handle ten.
[4:45 PM]Varda: I can unilaterally pick one, but I try not to do that. : )
[4:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'm curious about the limititations of Cutlery
[4:46 PM]Varda: I'm thinking weapons that cut, but maybe include table stuff. Spoons, could they be possible... nah.
[4:46 PM]Varda: We can change it to Weaponry.
[4:47 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Spoons could be nice though!
[4:47 PM]Varda: Could call a topic Cookery?
[4:47 PM]Treebeard: A spoon might be better when eating rabbit stew and potatoes...
[4:48 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Maybe, but a knife would also help
[4:48 PM]Varda: tilts the bowl or pot
[4:48 PM]Treebeard: tilt
[4:51 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: ponders cutlery... makes me think sweeney todd... makes me think... beauty/skincare as a topic?
[4:51 PM]Varda: So our current list:
[4:51 PM]Varda:
[4:51 PM]Varda: and Beauty/Skincare, Phar? : )
[4:52 PM]Treebeard: ...a new topic?
[4:52 PM]Treebeard: I vote for eating and fireworks...
[4:53 PM]Treebeard: Eating is one of the topics.
[4:53 PM]Varda: Fireworks would be another, aye.
[4:53 PM]Treebeard: All races have some eating going on
[4:53 PM]Varda: Puts us back at 15.
[4:53 PM]Varda: We need to drop 5.
[4:54 PM]Varda: or combine.
[4:54 PM]Treebeard: ... not necessarily cooking
[4:54 PM]Varda: We need to drop 5 in the next 6 minutes. ; )
[4:55 PM]Varda: Eating and Kitchen Utensils combined?
[4:55 PM]Treebeard: Drop Walking Trees, Race, Kitcen utensils, Steeds, and Agriculture..... did I meet the time line?
[4:56 PM]Varda: There's one vote. Any others? And yes, you did.
[4:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: It's a tough one!
[4:58 PM]Varda: Yep
[4:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I can't really see myself doing much with Navigation.
[4:58 PM]Varda: and you a sailor : )
[4:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Well sure, but artwise 😛
[4:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And I have people for that 😉
[4:58 PM]Sandalf13: I vote to drop: Walking Trees (too limited), Race (possibly too racist), Kitchen Utensils (really?), Gems (are already covered in "Geologic Features"), and Riddle...(too Hobbit-oriented).
[4:58 PM]Varda: Red line on a map like Indiana Jones, but for Frodo's trip?
[4:59 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'm the one standing on the ship with my sword pointing forward, saying "Sail me closer, I want to hit them with my sword!"
[4:59 PM]Treebeard: We could have a fishing tournament / filleting / eating them
[4:59 PM]Varda: Race is not racist, as it just means which type of being do we want to discuss, draw: Elves, Man, Orcs, Dragons?
[5:00 PM]Treebeard: 🙂
[5:00 PM]Varda: Gollum approves, Treebeard.
[5:01 PM]Varda: Two votes down for Walking Trees, Race
[5:01 PM]Treebeard: We could have a caller for which fireworks to set off when as in the Festival? . . . after eating of course.
[5:01 PM]Varda: We are at the hour.
[5:02 PM]Varda: We dropped two of the five needed to drop but with only two votes. This means your vote seriously counts!
[5:02 PM]Varda: Feel free to add in your vote for drops in this meeting_place during the week. : )
[5:03 PM]Varda: gavel trips over the hammerpad since it moved in front of the shelf
[5:03 PM]Varda: phlop
At meeting's end (7 or 9 left. Two can just be in-game, or themes.):
[5:03 PM]Varda: After-meeting!
[5:04 PM]Léod: I just don't know enough about the group yet to know what people like to discuss.
[5:04 PM]Sandalf13: Big News for all Texas fans! Buc-ees opened its first COLORADO location near Johnstown, CO (Between Denver and Fort Collins), and I stopped there for a quick tour and coffee on my way to Boise last Wednesday. I had no one handy to take a picture! Sorry. A second Buc-ees is planned for somewhere near Colorado Springs sometime soon.
[5:04 PM]Sandalf13: It is close enough to schedule a visit one day just to tour around.
[5:05 PM]Treebeard: Ha ha 🙂
[5:05 PM]Treebeard: I approve. I wonder what tax advantage there is to starting one in Colorado as opposed to closer states ?
[5:06 PM]Varda: Leod, we discuss everything that is Tolkien-related. : )
[5:06 PM]Sandalf13: Image
[5:06 PM]Varda: This one includes art as well.
[5:07 PM]Varda: Buc-ee's is the best place to include on a long trip. Huge number of clean bathrooms. ; )
[5:07 PM]Sandalf13: I did chat with some folks from Nebraska who said they made a point of stopping here, as it was the closest Buc-ees to Ogallala.
[5:08 PM]Sandalf13: The rocks in the wall, however, are local boulders and cobbles from streams in the Colorado Front Range. I do not believe they were imported from Texas. That is a long way to haul some dumb rocks.
[5:09 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: YouTube: Rarity - Dumb rock
[5:09 PM]Arien Valar: i cast my vote for navigation
[5:09 PM]Arien Valar: but then i steer a ship too 🙂
[5:09 PM]Treebeard: I expect that they have a vender and may none of them, as might happen, come from Texas.
[5:10 PM]Sandalf13: Might be a good place to take Mom for Mother's Day Dinner?
[5:11 PM]Treebeard: We had Sauron cooked omelets, just right.
[5:11 PM]Varda: We need some votes against, to trim down to ten. : )
[5:12 PM]Sandalf13: Sauron's eggs sound even better...
[5:13 PM]Varda: hatches Fell Beasts
[5:13 PM]Varda: Buc-ee's is very expensive food, tourist trap. : )
[5:13 PM]Treebeard: GAK! before or after eating?
[5:14 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Oof, after eating would be interesting. Also, they'd be pretty big eggs maybe, so you'd have to swallow it whole?
[5:15 PM]Treebeard: ...mmm fudge and Fell Beast eggs, and Dwarf beer to make them go down better 🙂
[5:15 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: What about KFF?
[5:15 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Kentucky Fried Felbeast.
[5:16 PM]Varda: hehe
[5:16 PM]Sandalf13: I think that Fellbeast would serve up better at McDonald's.
[5:17 PM]Sandalf13: It would be unnoticeable mixed in with the meat that they use for their hamburgers...
[5:17 PM]Treebeard: 🙂
[5:18 PM]Varda: goes back to cooking at home
[5:19 PM]Sandalf13: The back view of the Medicine Bow Mtns in Wyoming, taken while whizzing by at 82 mph. Image
[5:19 PM]Léod: Pretty.
[5:20 PM]Treebeard: I am going to have to go play now. Nice to see you all. Mairowyn [Note: Eowyn's main character in LotRO] will be in later to play her lvl 32 Champion, and we intend to kill some pixels. If we can get enough players, maybe we could do a 6 man something or other.
[5:20 PM]Sandalf13: Good luck, and buena suerte!
[5:20 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Enjoy!
[5:24 PM]Cenedra: Namarie!
[5:24 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!
[5:25 PM]Varda: Namarie
[5:25 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie!
[5:25 PM]Varda: Of course we'll still be here too, but paying more attention to pixel-destruction.
[5:25 PM]Sandalf13: What a nice euphemism...
[5:26 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: It does help if you don't consider all the people you murder in these games actual people 😉
[5:28 PM]Sandalf13: There was an interesting journal article that appeared a few years ago, posing the hypothesis that playing video games that encourage killing baddies and other assorted mayhem would encourage such activities in real life...fortunately, the psychologists who did the study found that not to be the case at all.
[5:29 PM]Arien Valar: Namarie !
[5:29 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie, Arien! Bis später!
[5:29 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I vaguely recall an episode of South Park where that happened with Minecraft, all the adults making fortresses out of blocks.
[5:29 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!
[5:31 PM]Sandalf13: Did you know that the actual South Park is located in Colorado? Just west of the Front Range, and south of Middle Park (west of Rocky Mtn National Park), and North Park (between the Never Summer Mountains (what a pretty Native American name) and the Sierra Madre.
[5:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I knew that in the show it is indeed in Colorado, not too far from Denver I believe.
[5:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I was not aware that it was a real place.
[5:33 PM]Sandalf13: Yup. My host son Markus and his wife Caity had to drive through South Park on their way back to the Denver Airport when they were out to go skiing with me a few years ago....we had coffee in Fairplay, right in the middle of the northern part of the basin.
[5:33 PM]Varda: (We are not killing players, just non-players. To kill players, you have to go to the Ettenmoors.)
[5:34 PM]Varda: There are a number of places called South Park. They picked one of the real ones?
[5:34 PM]Sandalf13: a
[5:34 PM]Sandalf13: As far as I know, yes indeed.
[5:34 PM]Varda: I once heard they liked us trying to guess. : ) Interesting.
[5:34 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Same for Springfield in the Simpsons.
[5:37 PM]Sandalf13: Of the fifty states, I believe that 48 of them have a town called "Springfield." It is one of the most common town names in the U.S>
[5:38 PM]Varda: I think I was thinking of Springfield, pardon.
[5:38 PM]Sandalf13: I was raised right off Springfield Boulevard in Bayside, LI, New York.
[5:38 PM]Varda: : )
[5:39 PM]Sandalf13: Image Image
[5:39 PM]Sandalf13: Image
[5:39 PM]Sandalf13: South Park, Colorado
[5:39 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Shadowfax?
[5:39 PM]Sandalf13: You better believe it...
[5:40 PM]Sandalf13: Does sort of look like Rohan, huh?
[5:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: yep! 5:42 PM]Sandalf13:
[5:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: hehe
[5:44 PM]Sandalf13: I have inflicted enough damage on all of you already, so I shall say Namarie until later. Time to go make some guacamole for dinner, to go along with leftover chicken from Boise, Idaho.
[5:44 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie, and enjoy
[6:27 PM]Varda: To Isengard? Isn't that the place they are taking the Hobbts?
[8:11 PM]Sandalf13: Yes...Right at the base of the Misty Mountains....you can see the mountains in the distance, looking north across the fields of Rohan...or so it appears.
[8:36 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Personal gaming report!
[8:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: For (non)flashgaming, I give you COLORUID-2
[8:37 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya Ar Ar Ar!
[8:37 PM]Sandalf13: Or is that Har Har Har?
[8:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: A puzzle coloring game where you have a limited amount of moves to paint the level in a single color, as each color you apply spreads across the old one.
[8:38 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Some trial and error needed, but it's quite relaxed with nice music
[8:40 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And aiya, I'm not sure if I count as a pirate
[8:41 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Blizzard gaming:
[8:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hearthstone: level 84 on the reward track now.
[8:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Got over 3000 gold, which is good, because the mini-set for 2000 gold is coming soon
[8:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: After that, more hero skins to be bought!
[8:44 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Brawl is Nozdormu at the End of Time: Make a deck as usual, but all turns only last 12 seconds. So better make something that doesn't require too many combo cards in one turn, or one that requires a lot of thought
[8:44 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I made myself a deck with a lot of legendary cards, which generally do well by themselves anyway. It doesn't work against people who somehow make a combo deck work, but I've had a decent winrate.
[8:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Warcraft Rumble: No new collection level, but getting closer.
[8:46 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Got my blackrock leader Drakkisath through dungeon level 16. The new dungeon's for undead leaders, and I've been trying for level 19 with Rivendare, but no luck yet.
[8:47 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Making more progress in the heroic sigil campaign, completing Murk-Eye with the last 3 families and getting Marshal Redpaw done with 4 families as well.
[8:49 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: After the Darkmoon Faire event ended, we went back to the Blingtron event. Since it just seems to alternate, I guess there'll be no need to mention that in the future unless something new happens, but at least it's a good source of gold bags.
[8:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: For quality upgrades, I got the Spiderlings to rare, and bought a new talent for them. Since I got the best talent at uncommon already, I wasn't picky about the new one.
[8:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also got the Pyromancer mini and the Goblin Sapper mini to uncommon, but didn't see the right talents for them yet.
[8:52 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I have been using my supply of Big Red Buttons to reset the vending grid if nothing good was up, but since I found out last time that epic upgrades can appear as well for over 2000 gold, I think I'll just let the grid do its thing while I save up more gold in reserve. There's no rush to buy stuff, after all. I can always reset stuff again once I've got a stockpile of over 2000 gold.
[8:52 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: But I'm sure the right talents will show up soon anyway
[8:52 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: WoW:
[8:53 PM]Sandalf13:
[8:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Raiding continues! Our first assault on the Awakened version of the Amirdrassil raid ended up with clearing it on normal pretty smoothly, and getting most of us (including me) a new mount, the Voyaging Wilderling.
[8:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Yeah, that looks about right
[8:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The Wilderlings are flying wolf-serpents, introduced in Ardenweald in the last expansion as normal flying mounts, but this voyaging one actually has dragonriding mechanics, as befits this expansion. Makes it quite unique.
[8:59 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Our next goal is to clear all 3 raids on heroic, for another achievement and a title.
[9:00 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I've gotten more upgrades, including the shadowflame axe from the last boss, and the 4-piece setbonus for my gear. Pretty much all the important stuff!
[9:00 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Weekly quest is mythic dungeons. This season the mythic dungeons have increased significantly in difficulty, but it was still doable with my new raidgear.
[9:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The reward was 2 bullions, the rare currency that can be used to buy specific raid loot items, but versions that have their own cross-difficulty upgrade tracks.
[9:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: With those, I had enough to buy the 2 rings that work with fire effects, and therefore combine well with the axe. More upgrades!
[9:03 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And the rest of the time I just spent on my horde main Calkin, progressing through Zuldazar.
[9:04 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: He's up to level 24 now, and getting some very useful talents for questing, including some Astral Power buffs.
[9:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And at level 22 he got his teleport ability to Moonglade, the big druid sanctuary, where I was able to buy some tomes for him that grant druidy abilities: Charm Woodland Creature, Mount Form, Track Beast, Treant Form... and Flap! Gotta love flapping down as a moonkin rather than falling to your death
[9:07 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Storywise, he's been cleaning out some mogu from the warport Rastari, but alas, it was a distraction while half of the king's council betrayed him, nearly killing him and sparking a civil war in the zone in an attempt to go back to the old ways of blood magic.
[9:07 PM]Sandalf13: sounds good to me, too.
[9:09 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: So after that I chased down some of the traitorous council members as they captured some of the loyal ones, freeing them, and then rescuing some of the loa, animal gods, from being drained of power in the name of the blood god G'huun.
[9:10 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Managed to save the raptor god and the pterrordax god, but the spider god, whose high priestess was one of the leaders of the traitors, was sacrificed for her power.
[9:11 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: After that questline I headed over to a coastal village where the wounded king is being hidden, and am now working on curing him and rallying him to take up the fight against the traitors.
[9:11 PM]Sandalf13: This is beginning to sound like George R.R. Martin...
[9:12 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Myes, this questing zone has some rare amounts of political backstabbings and inner warfare. At least that doesn't happen often!
[9:14 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: With 2 questlines to complete to finish the Zuldazar zone, I doubt I'll get it done before timerunning starts on wednesday, but I'll try to alternate the two projects so I can still unlock the second character I have planned for timewalking as well. Busy times coming up!
[9:15 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And that's my report for the week 9:15 PM]Sandalf13: Thanks,Har! That was informative, as always!!! Have a wonderful week ahead! Namarie!!!
[9:16 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: You too! Namarie!
[11:57 PM]Eönwë Valar: Eonwë says he missed the meeting not because of storms but because he had to work. I know he says this because I am Eonwë and Eonwë means me! Now Good Morning! :}
Thus ends this week's meeting. Come back and see us next week!
