[3:54 PM]Varda: Aiya! Shows 6 minutes until meeting.
[3:54 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya!
[3:54 PM]Léod: Aiya Varda, Sandalf!
[3:55 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya!
[3:55 PM]Léod: Greetings to you Ar-Pharazon-V!
[3:56 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And greetings to you, Leod
[3:56 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya Varda, Leod, and Ar!!
[3:57 PM]Sandalf13: I have a wonderful short video to post for those of you who may never have seen a tornado up close and personal. I showed it to Varda yesterday, and it was taken only a couple of miles from my old home in Lincoln, NE. I have travelled that road countless times, but have never seen anything like this!
[3:58 PM]Sandalf13: YouTube: 04-26-2024 Lincoln, NE - Significant Tornado in Lincoln
[3:59 PM]Sandalf13: One would not realize it looking at the video, but this part of "flat" Nebraska is at elevation 1,200 feet +/-. That is higher than the highest point in New Jersey, and lots of other states in the east...
[4:00 PM]Varda: Flatness can be up high too, aye.
[4:01 PM]Varda: That is one amazing video.
[4:01 PM]Varda: It's time!
[4:01 PM]Varda: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
[4:01 PM]Varda: Membership:
[4:01 PM]Sandalf13: The folks filming the video were probably volunteer "professional" storm chasers...lots of them on the Great Plains.
[4:02 PM]Arien Valar: Aiya all
[4:02 PM]Léod: Aiya
[4:02 PM]Varda: We are watching a tornado video from Sandalf. And yes, looked like storm chasers.
[4:02 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya Arien!
[4:02 PM]Varda: Aiya Leod, Sandalf, and Arien. : )
[4:02 PM]Varda: and Phar : )
[4:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya Arien!
[4:02 PM]Léod: Sorry I wasn't here last week.. I completely forgot until it was late.
[4:03 PM]Varda: No worries. Glad you could make it!
[4:03 PM]Varda: Also, we tend to have After-meeting for hours after if you want to give a wave then.
[4:04 PM]Varda: Anyway, the tornado video made me think also about how weather affected events in Tolkien's works. Might be thinking or jotting down ideas for that idea for when we hit the Tolkien chat later.
[4:04 PM]Varda: Notepad, sticky notes... : )
[4:04 PM]Sandalf13: Now that is a good idea!
[4:05 PM]Varda: Leod, were you trying to say something? Please go ahead.
[4:06 PM]Léod: It can wait until the Tolkien chat.
[4:06 PM]Léod: It would be better then.
[4:06 PM]Varda: ok. Don't forget to make a note! : )
[4:06 PM]Léod: I wont forget.
[4:06 PM]Varda: Any other membership news?
[4:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And don't forget to bring a towel!
[4:06 PM]Eönwë Valar: Salutations.
[4:06 PM]Varda: You're a better rememberer than I am!
[4:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya
[4:07 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya Eonwe!
[4:07 PM]Varda: Aiya Eonwe. Glad you could make it!
[4:07 PM]Léod: Greetings!
[4:07 PM]Varda: In membership news over here, Elwing is visiting our house and playing LotRO on Landroval. : )
[4:08 PM]Varda: We just came back from a run through bookshops. Much fun was had.
[4:08 PM]Varda: Two days worth.
[4:08 PM]Léod: Very nice!
[4:08 PM]Varda: One run in her neck of the woods, one in ours.
[4:08 PM]Varda: On to
[4:08 PM]Varda: Gaming!
[4:09 PM]Varda: Eonwe, your gavel when ready!
[4:10 PM]Varda: Pallando also has gaming news and will be going first to handle timing problems.
[4:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: Thanks.
[4:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: World of Warcraft:
[4:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: This week's bonus events: Burning Crusade Timewalking. This week's PvP Brawl: Classic Ashran.
[4:11 PM]Varda: or not, heh.
[4:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: Ooops, sorry.
[4:11 PM]Pallando-Valar: go, go
[4:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: That's what I get for not reading.
[4:11 PM]Varda: hehehe
[4:12 PM]Eönwë Valar: I read "Eonwe, go" and so I went, lol.
[4:12 PM]Varda: That was the original intent, aye.
[4:12 PM]Eönwë Valar: Go ahead Pallando.
[4:12 PM]Pallando-Valar: In Eve, we've gotten information about the next expansion, Equinox.
[4:12 PM]Pallando-Valar: We've gotten two trailers about this, YouTube: EVE Online, EQUINOX by Upwell - Seize the Dream & YouTube: EVE Online, A New Life with Upwell
[4:15 PM]Pallando-Valar: These talk about the Upwell Consortium's new efforts, which have been hinted at for some time now. One of these efforts is granting the ability for those without the means to go among the stars and gain new skills... by becoming part of a cloned workforce that has a limited lifespan and reduced ability to make their own decisions. Wonderful stuff.
[4:15 PM]Pallando-Valar: We also have the first marketing push that covers the new things coming in Equinox. EVE Online: Equinox Coming 11 June
[4:15 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: That first one sounds like a parfume commercial
[4:15 PM]Léod: How does that work in a starship driven game? Do you know?
[4:16 PM]Pallando-Valar: The primary push is a new set of resources along with new structures for them for nullsec and a small revamp of sov with the ihub and TCU becing combined into a single structure. There's also the return of passive moon mining, along with some new haulers.
[4:16 PM]Léod: Will they become encapsulated like everyone else?
@Léod
How does that work in a starship driven game? Do you know?
[4:17 PM]Pallando-Valar: Oh, we're not doing that. We're employing them.
[4:17 PM]Pallando-Valar: And no
[4:17 PM]Léod: Oh, I get it now, I think.
[4:17 PM]Pallando-Valar: These are very clearly disposable clone workers whose lives are only worth what it costs you to hire them from upwell.
@Pallando-Valar
These are very clearly disposable clone workers whose lives are only worth what it costs you to hire them from upwell.
[4:17 PM]Léod: Got it.
[4:18 PM]Pallando-Valar: you know, fun stuff
[4:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: "Plebs are needed"
[4:19 PM]Pallando-Valar: the second trailer does an excellent job trying to sell an obviously horrific thing as a wonderful thing, all backed by your favorite mysterious megacorporation that has never had anything shady proven in court about them
[4:19 PM]Pallando-Valar: In other news, capsuleer month is starting next tuesday.
[4:20 PM]Pallando-Valar: This looks to be similar to a previous event, but now Trigs vs Drifters, where players will be tasked with doing escalating chains, taking thew resources from one area and using it to build access to the next, harder area.
[4:21 PM]Pallando-Valar: The last event was I believe for duo cruisers, so hopefully this one involves at least pairs of folks as well.
[4:21 PM]Pallando-Valar: Oh! And it's another Vanguard test weekend this weekend. June will also see the release of a new VG map, persistent progression, and new weapons.
[4:22 PM]Pallando-Valar: AND! I just finished casting the final day of Anger Games 6, a player run tournament.
[4:22 PM]Varda: ohhh
[4:22 PM]Pallando-Valar: I will not spoiler the winner for anyone who wants to watch the VODs.
[4:23 PM]Pallando-Valar: So! Lots of stuff happening, and I expect we'll see more news coming out along with details about the June expansion over the next couple of months.
[4:23 PM]Pallando-Valar: As ever, great time to join, I'm happy to help people out, etc.
[4:26 PM]Pallando-Valar: That's it from me, over to @Eönwë Valar
[4:26 PM]Varda: Thank you. You've always been generous. Much appreciated!
[4:26 PM]Varda: And hi from Sauron. : ) 4:27 PM]Eönwë Valar: Takes Mic Pallando, everyone! Let's give him a round of applause! :}
[4:27 PM]Varda: applauds roundly
[4:27 PM]Léod: cheers!
[4:27 PM]Sandalf13: Yay! Hurrah!
[4:27 PM]Arien Valar: applause @ Pallando
[4:27 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: applauds
[4:28 PM]Eönwë Valar: :}
[4:28 PM]Eönwë Valar: In further WoW news:
[4:29 PM]Eönwë Valar: Dragonflight Season 4 is live.
[4:29 PM]Eönwë Valar: Keep in mind Plunderstorm ends on Tuesday, so if you're still trying to accomplish anything, you're almost out of time.
[4:30 PM]Arien Valar: i managed to survive 50 s
[4:30 PM]Varda: (grats!)
[4:30 PM]Eönwë Valar: :}
[4:30 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Got to renown rank 40 2 days ago
[4:30 PM]Varda: (yay gaming!)
[4:30 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: All the rewards \o
[4:30 PM]Arien Valar: phew .. show off
[4:30 PM]Eönwë Valar: I got to 4 renown, and I doubt I'll make it to 5.
[4:30 PM]Léod: I am NOT good at that kind of thing so I died early.
[4:31 PM]Eönwë Valar: I made it to 7th in one match, then I ran into someone, lol.
[4:31 PM]Arien Valar: claps Leod on shoulder
[4:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I did pretty much one renown level a day. Can take a few matches if you die early, but if you just avoid pvp and focus on elites or gold or something it should be good.
[4:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: My highest is 4th, I think, also by not running into anyone until then
[4:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I've killed like 3 or 4 people total in all my runs.
[4:32 PM]Léod: I killed 2, but it was mostly by button smashing, as I knew what none of my abilities did.
[4:32 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: haha
[4:33 PM]Léod: My son wanted to know if there is an EXP bonus event going on in WoW right now.
[4:33 PM]Eönwë Valar: Now right now. However,...
[4:33 PM]Eönwë Valar: The next content update, Dark Heart, is coming May 7th, and Mists of Pandaria Remix is coming May 16th. See the announcement.
[4:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Not in retail, I know that, I'm in there right now... but yeah, the Pandaria Remix is a fun temporary leveling event.
[4:34 PM]Eönwë Valar: The Mists of Pandaria remix might be fun. Kinda wish I had a new race combo for a Paladin to run through there.
[4:34 PM]Léod: I am waiting for that for sure.
[4:34 PM]Léod: New character time!
[4:35 PM]Arien Valar: Panda Paladin
[4:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'm starting with a worgen druidess for that, but also getting my horde main to 40 in the meantime (hit level 17 earlier tonight) because I want to make a vulpera hunter for it too.
[4:35 PM]Varda: ./facepalm at Arien
[4:35 PM]Eönwë Valar: Pandadin.
[4:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I thought about making a panda, but got those niches filled to my liking.
[4:35 PM]Léod: Tauren Rogue maybe? You can do that now, right?
[4:35 PM]Arien Valar: hehehe
[4:36 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I do have a highmountain tauren subtlety rogue planned, but not for this event
[4:37 PM]Eönwë Valar: For anyone who used the WoW companion app, it's retiring once the War Within pre-patch goes live.
[4:37 PM]Arien Valar: aww although i used it only for chatting when i was in bed
[4:38 PM]Arien Valar: so its a bit of a shame
[4:38 PM]Léod: I had it at one time. It made a difficult workspace bearable.
[4:38 PM]Eönwë Valar: The Cataclym Classic Pre-patch is coming April 30th, and there's a couple of blogs to go with that: Pre-expansion patch, Two new races, and Leveling in a shattered landscape.
[4:38 PM]Eönwë Valar: Check out this week's hotfixes.
[4:39 PM]Eönwë Valar: Diablo 4: There's a new Developer Update Livestream coming May 2nd.
[4:40 PM]Eönwë Valar: Overwatch 2: There's a new event going through May 13th: Mirrorwatch.
[4:40 PM]Eönwë Valar: Hearthstone: Patch 29.2.2 is out.
[4:40 PM]Eönwë Valar: Warcraft Rumble:
[4:41 PM]Eönwë Valar: A weeklong event, Blingtron's Bounties is going.
[4:41 PM]Eönwë Valar: Check out the latest hotfixes.
[4:41 PM]Eönwë Valar: Diablo Immortal: Check out the latest hotfixes.
[4:41 PM]Eönwë Valar: And that's it from me.
[4:42 PM]Eönwë Valar: (Announcer Voice) Back to you, Varda!
[4:42 PM]Léod: Good Job!
[4:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'll add that they announced there's no Blizzcon this year. Or did they do that last week already?
[4:42 PM]Léod: That's a lot of info!
[4:42 PM]Léod: I wonder why they are going back to no Blizzcon.
[4:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Rumours are that Microsoft is behind it, but there might just be logistical issues?
[4:44 PM]Arien Valar: Don t tell me that microschrott is planning to usurp Blizzard
[4:44 PM]Varda: heh
[4:44 PM]Léod: I guess that's possible. The new overlords must get their hand in!
[4:44 PM]Varda: I'd guess because it's very hard to get hotel and convention space right now.
[4:44 PM]Pallando-Valar: They have nothing to announce?
[4:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: They'll be announcing things, but not over one weekend I think.
[4:45 PM]Léod: That's what I thought, before thinking of Microsoft.
[4:45 PM]Varda: Combo maybe 4:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: "An Update on This Year's BlizzCon and Blizzard's 2024 Live Events"
[4:45 PM]Varda: Thanks for the url!
[4:45 PM]Pallando-Valar: and they're busy getting utterly reorged because one of the worst people in the games industry no longer can protect some of his best friends?
[4:45 PM]Léod: thank you!
[4:45 PM]Pallando-Valar: seems like the obvious options
[4:46 PM]Varda: ugh
[4:46 PM]Varda: Lord of the Rings Online:
[4:46 PM]Varda: News April 25: Update 40 Preview 2 is now open.
[4:47 PM]Varda: See more about it on the LotRO Bullroarer test world forums.
[4:47 PM]Varda: Tier 5 of Depths of Mâkhda Khorbo is now available.

Treebeard branch:
[4:48 PM]Varda: Any other LotRO news?
[4:48 PM]Varda: Starcraft 2:
[4:49 PM]Varda: The usual suspects that I know of, and probably others. Fangorn, Eowyn/Cenedra, Floppa, Faramir.
[4:50 PM]Varda: Any other news for gaming, membership? Requests?
[4:50 PM]Arien Valar: Fladrif is in Hearthstone this very moment doing batttle there
[4:50 PM]Varda: ohh! Good luck to the Ent!!
[4:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Can confirm
[4:51 PM]Léod: I can look this up later, but what server is the wow guild on?
[4:51 PM]Varda: Lothar
[4:51 PM]Léod: Ok, thank you. I have no characters there... yet.
[4:51 PM]Varda: Do we still have the Uldaman Horde?
[4:51 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: For US, Lothar, yes. Arien and I are in Europe though.
[4:51 PM]Varda: The kin branch is on Lothar.
[4:51 PM]Arien Valar: The Ent sais thank you to the Lady of Stars ~
[4:52 PM]Varda: We used to be able to game together.
[4:52 PM]Varda: aww : )
[4:52 PM]Léod: Can you not anymore?
[4:52 PM]Varda: Only for extra money.
[4:52 PM]Varda: Unless that's changed? Anyone?
[4:52 PM]Léod: Boo. That's new. I games on the Aussie servers all the time.
[4:53 PM]Léod: gamed.
[4:53 PM]Arien Valar: we have to pay exrtra subscription on US servers :/
[4:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: For WoW, don't think so. Not sure about Warcraft 3. I think I've played Starcraft II crosscontinent?
[4:53 PM]Léod: That's nuts.
[4:53 PM]Varda: LotRO takes all places. : )
[4:53 PM]Arien Valar: Agreed Leod
[4:53 PM]Varda: Agree with Leod.
[4:53 PM]Eönwë Valar: Lothar for Alliance, Uldaman for Horde. Both U.S.
[4:54 PM]Léod: True, Oh Lady of Light.
[4:54 PM]Varda: Eonwe just gave you the actual guild branches.
[4:54 PM]Arien Valar: at least we can chat now , cross continental
[4:54 PM]Sandalf13: LoTRO even takes me...
[4:54 PM]Varda: Yay chat!
[4:54 PM]Varda: hehe Sandalf
[4:54 PM]Eönwë Valar: We also have both a Group and a Community to chat cross-game on bnet.
[4:54 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: in Europe, I'm hanging out on Argent Dawn. Arien's mostly on a classic realm though she'll have to tell you the realm, I don't remember
[4:55 PM]Arien Valar: yeah thats what i meant actually , thanks Eonwe for clarifying that
[4:55 PM]Léod: Very nice.
[4:56 PM]Varda: We have other members who also played only on WoW Classical
[4:56 PM]Arien Valar: Earthen Ring for retail, Pyrewood Village for Wotlk classic, and i am some times playing on Hydraxian Waterlords classic era to get everyone confused
[4:56 PM]Léod: Understood.
[4:56 PM]Varda: Thanks, Arien.
[4:57 PM]Léod: I have a ton of characters on Earthen RIng.
[4:57 PM]Varda: Maybe you can swap main character names, get on a friend list?
[4:57 PM]Eönwë Valar: If anyone wants to join the group: --- good for 24 hours.
[4:57 PM]Varda: Thanks Eonwe! Really helps get together.
[4:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I've seen you on AD too, Arien1
[4:57 PM]Léod: I'll do that later for sure!
[4:58 PM]Arien Valar: oh yeah i ve got characters on AD too indeed
[4:58 PM]Léod: I don't do classic. I've already done all of that and do not wish to do it all again.
[4:58 PM]Léod:
[4:58 PM]Léod: Some people really love it though.
[4:59 PM]Varda: On to
[4:59 PM]Varda: Tolkien:
[4:59 PM]Varda: With one minute left. ; )
[5:00 PM]Sandalf13: 60...59....58...
[5:00 PM]Varda: How did weather affect events in Tolkien's work?
[5:00 PM]Léod: The Long Winter. There, I said it. Weather related.
[5:00 PM]Sandalf13: Snowfall on Caradhras
[5:00 PM]Varda: (any of the books are welcome. And this is open book.)
[5:00 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Caradhras was the obvious
[5:00 PM]Sandalf13: Fog covering the very first ride of the Riders or Rohan from their old home in the north, to the aid of Gondor.
[5:01 PM]Sandalf13: That was not as obvious...sorry.
[5:01 PM]Léod: The famine that came after it hit western middle earth badly, but nothing compared to Rohan.
[5:01 PM]Sandalf13: Fog on the Barrow Downs.
[5:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Do Sauron's black clouds count?
[5:01 PM]Varda: Sauron's weather of reek:
[5:01 PM]Varda: yes!
[5:01 PM]Varda: The reek coming out of Mordor carried a plague that affected the rulership of Gondor.
[5:01 PM]Varda: Later, reek coming out of Mordor allowed easier travel in the daytime for Sauron's armies.
[5:02 PM]Sandalf13: The southwesterly wind blowing up the lower reaches of the Anduin to speed Aragorn's fleet to Gondor...
[5:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: No wind helping my fleet get to Valinor. My subjects had to row!
[5:03 PM]Varda: Didn't want you there! But we needed Aragorn's ships.
[5:03 PM]Sandalf13: What about the sea storm that destroyed the last of Turgon's small fleet that had tried to reach Valinor, and spared only Voronwe?
[5:03 PM]Varda: Good one.
[5:03 PM]Sandalf13: Not to mention keeping Tuor holed up in Vinyamar...
[5:04 PM]Eönwë Valar: The storm during which Amroth and Nimrodel of Lothlorien were lost.
[5:04 PM]Varda: Forced meeting, aye.
[5:05 PM]Léod: The winds of wrath came driving him, and blindly in the foam he fled from west to east and errandless, unheralded he homeward sped.
[5:05 PM]Léod: When Earendil attempted to sail to the Uttermost West and was prevented. (at least at the time).
[5:07 PM]Varda: Earendil did make it with Elwing and a silmaril
[5:07 PM]Varda: Flooding in Numenor and Beleriand.
[5:07 PM]Sandalf13: On account of the Silmaril, of course...
[5:07 PM]Arien Valar: did they use the Silmaril as a kind of signal that Earendil came on a dire mission?
[5:08 PM]Sandalf13: The storm that drove Elendil's fleet eastwards after the destruction of Numenor...
[5:08 PM]Varda: A silmaril being returned to Valinor, very big deal. But it was his mix of the races coming to ask for help that was really important along with it.
[5:08 PM]Léod: Yes, he did make it once Elwing bound the silmaril to his helm.
[5:09 PM]Varda: Just a Man or just an Elf was not enough.
[5:09 PM]Varda: Here's something far less dire: Swamp conditions brought on neekerbreekers, although no one turned back.
[5:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: "I've had enough of these Neekerbreekers. I'm going back to deal with the Black Riders!" No, doesn't sound like a smart move.
[5:11 PM]Arien Valar: *midgewater !" said sam, "More midges than water .. I wonder what they live on if they can't get Hobbit"
[5:11 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Not sure how much it really influenced events, but the swamp conditions made for some interesting environments outside Mordor
[5:11 PM]Léod: Lightning seen on Weathertop.
[5:11 PM]Léod: Should lightning be in quotes I wonder.
[5:12 PM]Sandalf13: The powerful wintry conditions created by the Witch King of Angmar that led to the destruction of the elvish ship on which King Arvedui was attempting to retreat to the havens of Cirdan following the ultimate defeat of the Kingdom of Arnor...
[5:12 PM]Léod: So sad. To palantiir went to the bottom of the sea with that ship, I think.
[5:12 PM]Sandalf13: Not to mention the subsequent loss of Arvedui's Palantirs...
[5:13 PM]Léod:
[5:13 PM]Sandalf13: Yup.
[5:13 PM]Léod: In LOTRO we talk to him, Arvedui. He's not a happy spirit.
[5:13 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: A king perishes, but it's the shiny baubles that arer lamented
[5:14 PM]Léod: I've always loved a good crystal ball! LOL!
[5:14 PM]Sandalf13: Ironic how one of the Palantirs and one of the Silmarils ended up somewhere on the floor of the ocean...both creations of Feanor.
[5:14 PM]Varda: Ulmo has them now.
[5:14 PM]Sandalf13: Just put a big hunk of crystal quartz in a tumbler and let her rip...
[5:14 PM]Léod: Ulmo sees all, can lighten all!
[5:15 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: All things come to Ulmo in the end.
[5:15 PM]Varda: The Fellowship had to wait at Rivendell until Autumn, affecting the conditions in which they traveled.
[5:15 PM]Varda: (I left out Web news, sorry)
[5:15 PM]Varda: Web:
[5:15 PM]Léod: Very true! The dwarves in the Hobbit didn't wait, because they couldn't and the conditions of travel weren't great as I recall.
[5:15 PM]Varda: No new content this past week. Fee free to add some. ; )
(Back to Tolkien chat)
[5:15 PM]Léod: Oops. Sorry.
[5:16 PM]Arien Valar: don't fforget the snow on Caradhras
[5:16 PM]Varda: Tolkien talk trumps all. Please continue in
[5:16 PM]Sandalf13: Ulmo warning Tuor and Voronwe that because of Tuor's delay in reaching Vinyamar, they would both now have to travel through the treacherous winter conditions of Beleriand, enhanced by the power of Morgoth.
[5:16 PM]Varda: snow tosses gavel at the hammerpad
[5:16 PM]Varda: thwonk!
[5:16 PM]Varda: After-meeting!
[5:16 PM]Léod: From the movie, "... and they call it a mine, a mine!"
[5:16 PM]Varda: Free chat, including Tolkien.
[5:16 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Speaking of The Hobbit, I remember the gang coming into some nasty weather conditions over in the Misty Mountains.
[5:16 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Also some giants we never hear from again.
[5:17 PM]Varda: The giants had their own agenda. : )
[5:17 PM]Léod: They were broken into rubble by each other, and pebbles must not have much to say.
[5:17 PM]Arien Valar: snow bounces of shiny gavel , hits one of Arien 's sun beams and splashes all valarites
[5:17 PM]Varda: That must be it, Leod!
[5:17 PM]Léod: Heh.
[5:17 PM]Varda: the splash on Varda shifts to stars added to the sky (edited)
[5:18 PM]Arien Valar: nice
[5:19 PM]Arien Valar: right .. i am getting silly because i am tired alas
[5:19 PM]Léod: I need to go help my son with something. I'll be back in a bit. If I don't see you all, farewell until next time!
[5:19 PM]Varda: But fortunately, 'tis After-meeting and the sun may set
[5:19 PM]Varda: Namarie Leod!
[5:19 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie Leod!
[5:19 PM]Arien Valar: all right leod , Namarie/!
[5:19 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!
[5:19 PM]Varda: Elwing and I are in LotRO. May break for supper though.
[5:19 PM]Léod: Ok!
[5:19 PM]Arien Valar: Namarie, my friends
[5:20 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie Arien!
[5:20 PM]Eönwë Valar: Sleep well Arien.
[5:20 PM]Varda: Namarie Sunshine : )
[5:20 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie
[5:21 PM]Eönwë Valar: I must go wrangle the elusive Crab Rangoon. They're not going to surrender willingly.
[5:22 PM]Varda: hehehee
[5:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Good luck!
[5:23 PM]Sandalf13: Namarie, Eonwe!
[5:23 PM]Sandalf13: Just use your superior knowledge and power...
[5:24 PM]Sandalf13: One more shot of a different tornado actually IN Lincoln on Friday..
[5:25 PM]Varda: yikes
[@Sandalf13
Just use your superior knowledge and power...
[5:25 PM]Eönwë Valar: I'll just leave this right here. YouTube - High Performance Copywriting - Wizard of Oz, Scarecrow's Mathematical Error...
[5:26 PM]Eönwë Valar: Perhaps ironic that I thought of that given your very next comment, Sandalf.
[5:27 PM]Varda: : )
[5:28 PM]Eönwë Valar: Anyway, off for now, will be back later.
[5:28 PM]Eönwë Valar: Have fun.
[5:28 PM]Sandalf13: You too! Enjoy wrangling those crab rangoons...
[5:29 PM]Eönwë Valar: They're a feisty bunch, but at least they come in bunches.
[5:31 PM]Sandalf13: I too must bid a fond adieu for now....things to do for dinner, and to finish up while the sun shines. I shall try to return later for Ar's report! Namarie, everyone! Sei gesund!
[5:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!
[7:10 PM]Varda: Back
[7:11 PM]Varda: Going to join Elwing in LotRO. : )
[7:51 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya Varda! I am standing by, waiting for Ar to begin, while I enjoy a delicious fresh salad with Green Goddess Dressing, and some honey smoked salmon. Some snow on Friday, but a lot warmer today....I went out and gave my front lawn a quick mow to knock down the few small spots of tall, unwanted grass....the backyard grass (Bermuda grass) is still sleepipng!
[8:05 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Personal gaming report:
[8:05 PM]Sandalf13: Aiya Ar!
[8:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: For (non)flashgaming, rather than giving one of the old badges this week, I clicked a link in one of them to find more of the creator's games even if they're badgeless, and Mini Switcher is what I found!
[8:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Aiya
[8:06 PM]Sandalf13:
[8:07 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Really just a one-button game, as your little mini creature moves back and forth; use space or left click or the x key to switch gravity and guide it to the goal.
[8:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Avoid enemies and spikes along the way, and time it well 15 levels, all quite small, and you can keep trying each level until you get it!
[8:13 PM]Sandalf13: Wow. I can do this game! just need to get quicker with my clicker....he he.
[8:13 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: hehe
[8:18 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Blizzard gaming:
[8:20 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Diablo 4: Finished the seasonal questline, so that's one priority done with. The lightning sorceress got to level 30 along the way, unlocking the second enchantment slot, getting into chapter 3 of the season journey, and getting some pretty neat stones/abilities for the construct, including one that heals your character. Always useful!
[8:21 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: But now the demon has been destroyed together with the Loom, so stuff is a bit more secure again.. until next season, which starts late may!
[8:21 PM]Sandalf13: Sounds as if you are ahead of schedule. Good on you!
[8:22 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hearthstone: Level 72 on the reward track now, the increased experience rewards for quests are definitely helping.
[8:24 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: With only 3 levels to go until the final reward card on the track, and enough gold saved up to buy the next miniset the moment it comes out, I'll soon be able to open packs again without worrying about duplicates. And I've got plenty of em waiting!
[8:25 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: New quest event is going, Double Trouble. I wondered if it was a miniature related questline, but nope! It's based around the Battleground team-up feature, but the questline also starts with a choice: do the battleground thing, or traditional hearthstone matches. I chose the latter, since I don't like battlegrounds
[8:26 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: It's going well, with only a couple of days before I finish it.
[8:26 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I've already gotten some reward packs from it, and the final reward will be an Yrel paladin skin.
[8:26 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Not my favorite warcraft character, but it still looks nice
[8:27 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Brawl is "Top 2" where you choose 2 cards, and you get a deck with 15 of each. I made a druid deck built around summoning jade golems, which have done a decent job for me overwhelming the board if I survive long enough
[8:28 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: There aren't many combinations out there that can ramp up the board as fast as this.
[8:29 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Warcraft Rumble: Not many mini levels gained this week to progress on the collection level, but I've made other progress.
[8:30 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I've had no further luck with the dungeon, though, as the alliance leader remained stuck at 18, and my horde leader still needs some levels before getting past 16, apparently 8:31 PM]Sandalf13: Do you have a picture of the Yrel paladin skin creature?
[8:31 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Yrel the Knight is a hero skin for the paladin class.
[8:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Anyway, in Rumble, the heroic sigil campaign is going well Completed Morgan the Collector with the 2 remaining families, and as of today, I've completed Hogger with all 5 families as well... actually completing the first zone of the campaign!
[8:33 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: That got me a new rare quality core, and the zone on the map now displays a trophy, that was a nice surprise
[8:34 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: With Elwynn Forest complete, tomorrow we start Westfall!
[8:34 PM]Sandalf13: Yrel is a pretty impressive elf-like creature, in more ways than one.'
[8:35 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: She's a Draenei, a sort of blue-skinned race originating from another planet. The males have tentacles for beards, the females have horns (edited)
[8:35 PM]Sandalf13: The males sound like Davey Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean.
[8:36 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Heh, it looks similar
[8:37 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: here's my male draenei World of Warcraft -Caljaenor - Character - WoW - Caljaenor (Argent Dawn) - The High Guard - 13 Draenei Enhancement Shaman, 10 ilvl
[8:38 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: A later variation called Lightforge Draenei have also been added as a playable race, such as Calluminar (Argent Dawn) - The High Guard - 10 Lightforged Draenei Discipline Priest, 8 ilvl
[8:38 PM]Sandalf13: Wow. A Very scary looking character...not one to meet in a dark alley if one is drunk, or has evil intentions!
[8:38 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Eh, they're pretty friendly once you get to know them, but they have some demonic relatives.
[8:39 PM]Sandalf13: The second guy looks a lot more friendly.
[8:39 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Does he? I think they have the same expression
[8:39 PM]Sandalf13: Probably just my off the wall interpretation.
[8:42 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: back in Rumble, the Darkmoon Faire event is now over, and has been replaced by the Blingtron event, as Eonwe mentioned in the news. The quests and rewards are similar, but individual rather than guild-based, which means you get less currency overall, but it's easier to make your way through the reward track. Been getting some bags of gold through that.
[8:42 PM]Sandalf13: Krugerands, I hope, or at least Golden Eagles!
[8:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Coins, mainly
[8:44 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: As for quality upgrades, I've gotten talents for all 3 uncommon minis that were still lacking them: the abomination, skeletons and the angry chickens.
[8:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: The angry chicken talent is Furious Fowl, which allows them to build Fury, attacking faster as they remain on the same target. They don't have much health, but in the right circumstances it can do a lot of damage
[8:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Gotta love angry chickens!
[8:45 PM]Sandalf13:
[8:45 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah, could be! You never see them up close.
[8:47 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: While looking for more minis to upgrade in the shopping grid, a straight-to-Epic upgrade came up, for 2250 gold. Since epic cores are difficult to get, it's definitely worth saving for. And the blingtron event helped, I'm about 70% of the way already!
[8:48 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: WoW:
[8:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Raiding has started again, in the new Awakened season! We've cleared normal difficulty Vault of the Incarnates, and are about halfway through heroic difficulty. The first few weeks are on rotation though, which means next week we'll be going for Aberrus.
[8:50 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I've gotten some good loot upgrades already, including a necklace and a weapon, so yay!
[8:51 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Weekly event is timewalking, also with some upgraded rewards. But the relevant reward is the one at the end of the weekly quest, though in my case I got a rather odd trinket which I'm not sure I'll use.
[8:52 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: As mentioned during the news section, I've completed the Plunderstorm renown track, getting the last weapons and armor appearances, including a hat + eyepatch which will look great on my worgen rogue/pirate.
[8:52 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I've also gotten a parrot mount out of it with dragonriding mechanics, and a new tabard and Plunderstorm title at the end.
[8:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I never actually won a match, but I'm happy to have gotten all the stuff
[8:53 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: With some time-limited events coming up I'll cut down most of my pvp brawling, though I did join Ashran this week, because that's always fun and you can just stay in until you win an event.
[8:54 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And got to honor level 127 as I went!
[8:55 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: And finally, alting! In preparation of the Timerunning Pandaria event, I'm leveling my horde main some more to be able to unlock the allied races for Horde.
[8:57 PM]Sandalf13: Will your horde be OK without you?
[8:57 PM]Sandalf13: I would hate towander through WOR alone, without a horde, of something.'
[8:57 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: He's started questing in Zuldazar, getting to level 17, defeating a rebellious witch doctor in some temple ruins, and now getting rid of some bandits in the city harbor.
[8:57 PM]Sandalf13: WOW
[8:58 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: I'm sure he'll be fine
[8:58 PM]Sandalf13: Thank goodness. I hate to see character deaths, even in a game.
[8:59 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: With Diablo 4 and Plunderstorm done (for now), the next few weeks up to the start of the Timerunning event will be focusing on his efforts to reach level 40 And I'm sure I'll have time to finish that journey while timerunning as well.
[9:00 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Heh. There was actually an easter egg in the temple questline if you died while holding the Urn of Souls, so I had to try that out But he just came back to life after!
[9:01 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: In any case, that's my report for the week!
[9:02 PM]Sandalf13: Thank you, Ar! Ich hoffe, dass du eine gute Woche geniesst! Sei gesund, und Namarie!
[9:02 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie, and thanks!
@Ar-Pharazon-V
She's a Draenei, a sort of blue-skinned race originating from another planet. The males have tentacles for beards, the females have horns
[9:05 PM]Eönwë Valar: The men have horns too, but they're not a separate customization like the women, and women have slenderer face tendrils. Both have tails.
[9:06 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm, fair enough
[9:07 PM]Eönwë Valar: Just like going clothes shopping: women have 9/10 of the store, and men get a closet in the back, lol.
[9:08 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: You're right, Callyria (Argent Dawn) ❮Innovation❯ - 25 Draenei Frost Death Knight, 29 ilvl does have tendrils.
[9:10 PM]Eönwë Valar: I was messing around with character customization recently, wondering if I was going to make a Lightforged Draenei for MoP Remix. Still would rather make a Night Elf or Void Elf Paladin, but eh, we'll see.
[9:11 PM]Eönwë Valar: Since I can't make those two (the combo doesn't exist) I may make a Lightforged Draenei Paladin since I haven't done that yet.
[9:22 PM]Eönwë Valar: Hmm, the men can choose to have no face tendrils, but the women can't. The Men can have no horns (if they want to be bald), but the women can't.
[9:24 PM]Eönwë Valar: And slight correction: The tendrils for the women come out from behind the ear, the men have those and the option for face tendrils.
[9:43 PM]Ar-Pharazon-V: namarie
[10:40 PM]Eönwë Valar: Oh, I suppose it's nice that they adjusted the mythic keystone requirement on the artifact skins for legion to match the difficulty change. Honestly didn't expect they'd bother.
[10:41 PM]Eönwë Valar: Still not likely to find myself in a Mythic +2, but I suppose there's a small chance.
Thus ends this week's meeting. Come back and see us next week!
