I am good... I ran for 30 minutes today without at pain, and
I walking a lot better too. I have been sleeping perfectly since
mid-July. Had my last physical therapy last Friday, and now it is
just a matter of time, I hope. It takes so long to heal once one
      becomes an old-timer like me!

well its sort of obvious .. since it came up already last week ..
      The rings of power
      [4:29 PM]
as admittedly lore and tolkien info are sometimes a bit short we
could actually collect stuff around the rings book based and as
      written by The Master himself
      [4:31 PM]
in the amazon series i mean . i still like it and there are
lorebased things in it even correct but in other places info gets
a bit .. lets say mixed up

      Varda Yesterday at 4:31 PM
and some made of whole cloth.
We could go with Rings, aye.
      That's a nice wide net to throw. : )

Phar's suggestion last time: dwarf ring given to dragon. Melts.
      Short story!
      [4:32 PM]
      Ring mail!

Arien  Valar Yesterday at 4:33 PM
well that wouild be something .. a mail shirt made of elven rings

      Varda Yesterday at 4:33 PM
Which makes one wonder. Do dragon hoards with all that gold tend
to be solid, melted masses after a while?
      [4:33 PM]
      Thanos would be proud.

Arien  Valar Yesterday at 4:33 PM
i think i know at least one being who would be like a hound after
      that

      Sandalf13 Yesterday at 4:34 PM
From my reading of The Hobbit, it seems that Smaug, at
least, just like to sleep o his hoard...he did not "fire up" in
his own dwelling, so to speak.

      Ar-Pharazon-V Yesterday at 4:35 PM
He still must've given some awful body heat.
But perhaps not to melt gold.
And while making a chainmail vest out of the many lesser rings of
power sounds interesting, don't you need to break the rings for
that? [Note: no. Use interlocking non-powered rings between
      them.]

      Sandalf13 Yesterday at 4:35 PM
How do any of you believe that dragons - in general - create their
      fire?

      Ar-Pharazon-V Yesterday at 4:36 PM
I've seen various theories. Swamp dragons in the Discworld are
basically an alchemical factory which they ignite near the
nostrils as it flares out... and they tend to explode half the
      time anyway.
If the fire is actually inside them, they must quite resistent
      innards.

I am at a loss...I always assumed, probably wrongly, that a dragon
produces fire at need, using elements available in his/her stomach
system. Not something they do all the time, as has been pointed
out, that would make for a pretty tough stomach.  I envision
them making the ingredients in the stomach, passing them upwards,
somehow, and igniting the gases on the way out....anyway...

Trying to remember what it was.

I have a funny story for you. When I first tried to set up my
Gmail account, I had to create a new user i.d. Being a geologist,
I naturally thought I could come up with something unique...The
eight most abundant elements in the Earth's crust are, in order, O
      - Si - Al - Fe - Ca - Na - K - Mg.
      Oxygen-silicon-aluminum-iron-calcium-sodium-magnesium.  I
tried "Osial" - it was already taken! Tried Sialfe - already
taken! I tried Alfecanak - it was already taken. Obviously, there
were some geochemists thinking along the same lines that I was. My
i.d. became Fecanak1, and that is what it remains to this day, at
least on Gmail. Of course, as a friend said, it does have a rather
      unfortunate sound to it
      [5:05 PM]
Some of those names sound almost elvish.  He he.

Like Pb for "lead." From the Latin for lead: plumbum

Arien  Valar Yesterday at 5:09 PM
      yup that makes sense

      Ar-Pharazon-V Yesterday at 5:09 PM
In Dutch they are natrium and kalium.
      [5:09 PM]
So the symbols make more sense
That doesn't work for plumbum though!

      Sandalf13 Yesterday at 5:09 PM
I believe that the Dutch terms are based on the original Latin
      names...

      Ya sure, ya betcha!
      [5:11 PM]
An expression from the northwestern U.S. for "absolutely!" It is a
contraction of "you are sure, I bet."
      [5:12 PM]
      Or alternatively, "It sure is!"
      [5:17 PM]
I suspect that Dutch uses something like "lead" as it is a very
      Proto-Germanic word.
      [5:18 PM]
In German, the root for "lead" is Blei...the lei could come from
      the PG base word.
      [5:19 PM]
There is a very famous Yiddish poem called "Di Blayene Platen Fun

      Personal gaming report!
      [8:28 PM]
For (non)flashgaming, we actually have a new game this week! A
badge we hadn't seen before on kongregate.
      [8:30 PM]
      https://www.kongregate.com/games/Kiddo_Victor/light-wanderer
is an interesting platformer where you find a flashlight, use it
light your way across dark tunnels - without falling into the lava
or getting hit by fireballs, later in the game - and throw the
light ahead of you to scout ahead, or throw it at certain anchor
points where you can use it to make platforms.
          Kongregate
          Light Wanderer
An innovative platformer where your flashlight
lights your way and can be used as a platform!
Check Out my most recent game
          https://www.kongregate.com/games/...

      [8:30 PM]
Not too difficult, but a fun few levels
      [8:31 PM]
And after you complete it, you unlock light mode, where all the
levels are lit up instead, making it rather faster to get around.

      Hearthstone:
69 on the reward track now. Feels like it's slowing down.
      [8:56 PM]
I did manage the 5 wins for this month, though, getting the Fire
      Plume card back.
      [8:58 PM]
Some battleground event quests arrived, requiring you to play and
win battlegrounds for battleground-only rewards. As I don't like
battlegrounds and prefer to avoid them, I'm not bothering. I did
watch a few friends play, though, including Fladrif, and the luck
and improv that goes into it makes me glad I'm not doing it
      [9:01 PM]
I did do the brawl, though, which is a special one vs an AI deck,
led by Wicked Prince Kael'thas of the Dark Flight, and you have to
stop him with a choice of 4 classes/decks/magical girl themes. He
starts with an advantage, but you get spell cards which allow you
do discover a spell which can be played at 0 cost. And with some
luck and the right spell usage, it's not that hard  It
doesn't matter which one you choose for the free pack and the 5
brawl weekly quest, but I think I'll try winning with all 4
      anyway.
      WoW:
      [9:02 PM]
With a bit more practice and a bit more gear, we actually managed
to take down the Jailer on normal Fated difficulty, with some time
to spare even in the fight.
      [9:03 PM]
So slimesaber mounts for us! Well, about half of us (including
me!), a bunch of our group have missed some bosses over the weeks.
So our goal will be to target those specifically for people who
are around for the raid at the time
      [9:04 PM]
We'll also poke heroic some more, but the main goal has been
achieved or close to it for some.
      [9:05 PM]
With some heroic bosses down we did get a heroic fated item from
the vault again, which for me was a pretty good feral trinket.
Which means both trinkets are set. Would be nice to get some tanky
      ones upgraded though.
      [9:06 PM]
In any case, it means I've got a Jigglesworth Sr. mount  A
green slimecat which I'm also using on my poison rogue, fitting
      his green theme.
Weekly is timewalks, which I've poked all 5 of, but only got a
cloak which I'd already had better of, so eh.
      [9:07 PM]
For anima, I bought a prairie dog soulshape from a vendor in
Ardenweald. Only one to go for 20k anima, and then I'll be done
      with all of that.
      [9:08 PM]
An in-game friend of mine stopped playing after 10 years, alas,
having burned out on WoW and no longer wishing to give money to
Blizzard after all that's happened. I still see him on Discord
and, actually, in Hearthstone, so there's still contact, but it's
unlikely we'll see him back in-game any time soon, including
      Dragonflight.
      [9:10 PM]
I took over some stuff from him as he cleaned out alts and banks
and sent stuff to various people, and he gave me 9 new pets from
the TCG set. Not sure if he got them from the cards or the BMAH, I
      suspect the latter.
In any case, I named the 9 pets in his naming style, so if he
comes back, he can have them again. In the meantime, they're in my
      roster!
Tuskarr Kite, Nightsaber Cub, Sand Scarab, Purple Puffer, Spectral
Tiger Cub, Landro's Lichling, Gusting Grimoire, Gregarious Grell,
      and Eye of the Legion.
      [9:11 PM]
      So yes, quite a set.
      [9:14 PM]
For alts, I continued with the rogue. Alas, he has not quite made
it to Maldraxxus yet, with about half a dozen quests to go. Which
means he is, in fact, facing Maldraxxus troops in Bastion.
      [9:15 PM]
But he did just get to level 54, after starting the week at 51. 54
gives a new poison which slows down enemy attack and casting
speed, apparently. That should really help with his survivability!
      [9:16 PM]
And that's my report for the week!
      [9:17 PM]
