The implication that Saruman's knowledge of the process was
incomplete would indicate to me at least he probably wasn't able
to make a ring or rings completely separate. The forward indicates
that if Saruman had he been able to sneak into Mordor in the
aftermath of Sauron's defeat, he might've been able to complete
his knowledge and forge his own Ruling Ring.

One last mention on the peoples: the dwarves remained in
Middle-earth but dwindled in number quite seriously. Plus being
underground a lot made them less obviously present to humans.

Personal gaming report!

Let's start off by saying this weekend has been the weekend of
Particle Fleet.

It's a strategy game, part of the Creeper World franchise which I
love, but rather than building a base on a planet and defending
against the fluid Creeper, you have to gather energy in space,
build up a fleet of a limited amount of slots, and defend against
streams of particles.

Otherwise, the gameplay is much the same. Build your perimeter,
conquer the map piece by piece, collecting upgrade tokens,
conquering energy sources and ultimately taking out the enemy
emitters, while also dealing with additional mechanics.

And it's every bit as addicting as the rest of the series! This
weekend I've played through the entire story, the custom pack, and
the first of a long row of player-made maps.

Made it to 100 on the reward track! One more tier 1 set for the
collection, and I chose Garrosh/warrior's Might skin.
3 skins remain!

After 100 the levels get faster again, and I've made it to 104
total. New expansion still not announced, so we'll keep going

Had a quest for some mage games, so I updated my basic mage deck
to 40 cards using the Renathal legendary. Seems ok.

Brawl is the Deathrattle one, where each minion you play gets a
random deathrattle effect. Lots of randomness!
Still, priest and hunter are recommended, as they have some class
cards that synergize with deathrattles, and every advantage
counts.

For raiding, this is the last reset of raiding for us until the
expansion's release. That said, we didn't have the numbers on
thursday and I won't be here on tuesday, so I guess I'm done
already

Weekly is timewalks, which went well! Only had to do 3, since End
Time counts twice despite being quite fun, and I got it twice.
No luck with the reward though.

Hallow's End is going, and while I don't think there's new stuff,
I'm still missing one of the 4 sisters' hats from the daily quest
in Bradenbrook.
And for the first time I have multiple maximum level characters to
use, so I'm also poking it with the paladin and the rogue in
addition to my main druid.

Still no luck though; have been getting hats 1, 2 and 3, but the
fourth sister's hat still eludes me.

I got 3 new mounts! A friend who'd just gotten his rogue class
mount warned that the rogue, as many other classes, has various
versions of the class mount to buy after acquiring the original.
In my case, only the rogue so far had multiple, but hey, still
mounts, so I sent him back to the class hall to buy them at 1k
order resources each.
And being assassination, I was especially glad to buy the green
version

So yep, that's Shadowblade's Lethal Omen, Baneful Omen, and
Crimson Omen!
And finally more alts!

Got my death knight continuing through her starter experience,
bringing down the Scarlet Crusade's fleet from the inside, and
starting the attack on New Avalon, preparing a plague cauldron
along the way. Next week, we'll delve deeper into the town.
My huntress has been continuing in Teldrassil, completing the
Barrow Den and making her way south to the lake for some
timberling quests.

Along the way she's gotten from level 16 to 20, gaining her
interrupt ability, her stealth-break ability (Flare), and a new
pet ability at level 20, as well as a buff cooldown.

So she's making good progress!
As for the mage, she's started in Bastion, completing the first 2
storylines, but nothing more, as I spent too much time in Particle
Fleet

I wonder how far she'll get next week, with several days being
skipped.
I've got no more delusions of completing it all before
Dragonflight launch, but we'll see how far we get with the
campaigns. I might delay going to the Dragon Isles for a week or
two, or just start there and complete Shadowlands at a later time.

I'm sure my raidgroup would prefer the latter!
Especially with the patch coming in a few days and some events
following a few weeks later, it's probably best to put SL on the
backburner where necessary.

Sorry I missed the meeting yesterday. I found out on Friday that I
had to move out of my apartment so that it could be renovated
along with all the other apartments in my building. The move took
all day Saturday and Sunday. I was pretty exhausted, even with the
help of two friends...but what is worse, I temporarily have no
internet connection at home. I hope to get that attended to later
today. I see that you all had a delightful conversation yesterday!
