    Topic: Arien: we were discussing about the events  at elronds council  and as things got on  we came on discussing Boromir...   and i wondered when the temptation through  the ring started
was it the moment he saw it at the council or even before  when he shared the vision   wth  faramir?

Sorry Everyone! I am attending the Lincoln Friends of Chamber Music annual Fundraiser. We will be attending the event at the home of Robert Duncan, who owns Duncan Aviation here in Lincoln. They have a small art museum in their home, and will be providing music by Johnny Gandelsman, of the Brooklyn Ryder String Quartet in New York City. This will be a pretty plush event...back east I am sure they would call this a black tie affair, but this is Lincoln, so I will be wearing a decent dress shirt and a sportscoat...should be fun. The fundraiser runs from 1600-1900 CST, so I will check in when I get back, just in case Ar is still writing up his weekly report. Have a wonderful visit and a lovely evening! Sei gesund, Sandalf13

the new skirmish is Doom of Caras Geleborn.

It can be run with 1, 2, 3, 6, or 12 people.

It gives some really good rewards, especially off-hands.

It also gives the cloak needed to barter for the hot new upgradable cloaks. They upgrade at the barterer.

Ok, first mention is that he arrived in the grey morning before the actual Council meeting.

It's not a completely unreasonable line of thought. After all, the Blade that was Broken was revealed (more or less) openly "in their very hour of need" as well.  Therein, of course, lies part of the danger.

The original question is did Boromir become interested in the Ring from the vision are at the Council? He did not know it existed during the vision. He did become interested at the Council.

After that is when Frodo brings it out for all to see.

So that was a moment when Frodo might have given the Ring to Aragorn and he refused it.

Just got back from an evening I will remember for many years (I hope) ahead. We had our reception at the home of the Duncans. Their art collection alone is a phenomenal assortment of contemporary art, including paintings, sculpture, various collections of art objects...all worth a large fortune, no doubt. The house itself sits in a rustic, park-like area north of Lincoln. Very secluded, yet only minutes from downtown Lincoln. The food was superb. A catered meal, including thinly sliced roast beef, quiche, a truly gourmet salad, some sort of Italian bread baked with cheese on it. For dessert, following the choice of Pinot Noire or Chardonnay with dinner, we had a tequila cordial. Talk about a strong cordial...it sure knocked my socks off (figuratively). The music was outstanding. We enjoyed an arrangement of the first four of the Bach cello Suites transposed for the violin. For the encore, we heard a contemporary American piece that took a Civil War era tune and turned it inside and out, in a variety of styles and idioms. Wow. A delightful evening, but I am still a bit sorry that I missed all of you tonight. Well, there is always next Sunday, after Thanksgiving! Sei gesund!

I have a business meeting in Denver on Tuesday and Wed...I leave tomorrow late morning, but I will put my turkey in the fridge so that when I get back Wednesday evening it will be ready to cook...I am having a few guests over.

You play the Pumpking, having to make your way across 24 turn-based strategic levels in the graveyard, to find the Pumpqueen. Along the way there's ghosts of various kinds, as well as other enemies. Each type of enemy has a pattern you need to use to defeat them, before they get you instead!

Not too difficult once you figure out each enemy, though you may need to plan ahead, especially in the last few levels.

Brawl is Blood Magic, where all spells cost health instead of mana. You can imagine that makes games go quite fast... especially in my case, as I made a mage spell deck with as many direct damage spells with slightly more damage than mana cost, such as fireball, mask of c'thun and greater arcane missiles.

Not quite overpowered, though, since you do need some luck... and while you can spend cheap spells to get rid of enemy minions, the best way to win a match with this deck is to live long enough to get enough spells in hand to just outright kill the opponent, without killing yourself.

No event quests this week, which is good... because there's plenty of events going around already in WoW

No raiding, and the old school raid didn't really get me much either  I'm considering sending in my Drac'thyr next time so I can get the missing fist weapon and start gathering the Mail appearances, but I'll probably stick with the rogue in case some weapons drop that he lacks but the Drac can't get.

No weekly quest this week, which gives me more time to do event stuff.

Logged a few more alts for the anniversary, with only my off-server alts still left to visit.

But with mage and hunter I went for more worldbosses.

Mage got some new shoes' appearance from Azuregos, which means she can skip that boss from now on. Hunter got a gun from Doomwalker, though she still lacks appearances from all the bosses.

But she's got all the weapons now, which means the stuff she's missing is Mail armor, which gave me a bit of an idea

Namely, Calthracys, my new Drac'thyr Evoker! I had some trouble updating the patch on wednesday and catching up on stuff on thursday, so it wasn't until Friday that I got to start the Drac'thyr starting experience. And since I made sure I explored as much as possible, and collected as many rares, treasures and edicts as possible, it wasn't until saturday night that I completed the entire zone and storyline.

But I managed it, and now "Thrac" is level 60, has made his home in Stormwind, where he's also bought his flying skills, and is actually better equipped than the hunter to collect the mail appearances from anniversary bosses.

So I'm leaving the huntress to rest, and sending him instead.

I made it to honor level 104, the previous week actually, but couldn't remember it for the previous report

The mage made it to level 52 while fighting worldbosses, so there's that.

Got a bunch of new mounts! Bought the anniversary pack, containing a whole lot of mounts and pets. But I had most of the stuff already, so instead of 80 euros I only ended up paying 20. That got me the two Alabaster mounts from the 15 year anniversary, the Viridian Phase-Hunter previously tied to Burning Crusade Classic, and... something else... I wanna say the Gilded Ravasaur, but not sure, since it's a horde mount.

The Evoker, in his starting zone, was able to acquire no less than 8 mounts as well, from the vendor npc that gives you your first mount for free. But it's easy to miss, so if you did, I believe they'll also be available in Valdrakken once Dragonflight releases.

These 8 mounts being: Crimson Vorquin, Obsidian Vorquin, Sapphire Vorquin, Bronze Vorquin, Guardian Vorquin, Armored Vorquin Leystrider, Majestic Armored Vorquin (which Thrac is using when not flying), and Swift Armored Vorquin.

With the Evoker settled, I could finally start the pre-patch events, which I did tonight. With the druid, I visited Wrathion in Stormwind, doing a bunch of quests leading to the elemental invasions, as well as visiting Uldaman for the quest there.

I've not yet poked the invasions myself, but I did note down how much of the currency I need for all the appearances from the vendor, and assigned them to various alts to buy. Looks like I'll need to do Uldaman with 2 more characters for the quest reward weapons, and elemental invasion currency with 4 or 5 characters total, though the currency is accountbound, so technically farmable with 1 character.

Still, the more the merrier.. they might even get some achievements along the way!

And finally, the Death Knight in Classic: Didn't finish all her quests as I was planning before the pc went down, but she has defeated the Scarlet armies and attacked Light's Hope Chapel. Now all that's left is to claim Acherus for the new Death Knight faction, and then bring her to Stormwind. Only a few days more until the promotion mount is mine!
