IT was a surprisingly cold day today...not Springlike at all.
Funny: the old saying is March is in like a lion and out like a
lamb...well this year, everything is reversed. March came in
like a lamb and went out with a lion. April has been the same.
We had some snow in the air this morning...gray and cloud
covered.

hasn't gotten to see one yet. : )

This is set in the Two Towers,
right after Pippin looked into the palantir and is now away from
the others.

Gandalf looked at
Aragorn, and then, to the surprise of the others, he lifted the
covered stone, and bowed as he presented it.
"Receive it, lord!" he
said: "in earnest of other things that shall be given back. But
if I may counsel you inthe use of your own do not use it--yet!
Be wary!"

True. Even though Anduril was reforged, I suppose this is the
first time someone (in this case Gandalf) deferred to him as if he
were king.

Yes...and then very shortly thereafter, Aragorn challenged Sauron
DIRECTLY through the Palantir. Even Gandalf was afraid of such an
encounter. As elvish as Aragorn was, it did not take him long to
realize that Sauron had to be "drawn out" from the comfort of
making all the first moves in the War of the Ring. With just
enough power, Aragorn gained control of the Palantir, no doubt
shocking Sauron into some rash (as it turned out) decisions.

Remembering vaguely a quote from Tolkien, I believe he'd say more
it was authority, not power, that helped Aragorn with the
Palantir. The Palantir was by right his, and Sauron was many
leagues away.

think the hobbit was the Ringbearer and in Saruman's possession.

Wow! It works! I will have to watch it when I have some time
to do nothing else. I am leaving for a week's visit to my sister
in North Carolina tomorrow evening. Along with visiting her, I
will drive up to VA to spend a couple of days with one of my
friends from middle school (Junior High School) days...Alan. I
should have plenty of time to relax with my laptop. Do not worry!

I tried to see my sister in October, but I got caught up in that
Southwest Airlines Snafu. It was a mess. I never got where I was
supposed to go!

I am bringing my running stuff with me, and will sign up for one
month of extended membership at Planet Fitness so I can keep up
with my lifting while I am on visit with my sister and my friend.
He promised me a day of bike riding in and around Fredericksburg,
VA, a very interesting place from the days of the Civil War. I
think that Spring is more advanced there than it is here...I am
not planning on bringing my winter running things, that is for
sure.

Before they were remaking them, they were making cheap knockoff
sequels of the originals. So I guess the next step is to remake
the cheap knockoff sequels into cheap knockoff live action
versions, with actors who are not the originals but vaguely
resemble them.

generally I tend to avoid generic dramas and the like...

Also leveled a bunch more, including giving Anduin his first few
levels, and getting both Gruul and Gul'dan to level 30.

More raiding! Have not beaten Rygelon yet, but we did try heroic
and defeated the first two bosses, Vigilant Guardian and Skolex.
Third boss... needs some more work

Also did wings 2 and 3 on LFR in an attempt to get more
tierpieces, but no luck.
Weekly is timewalks, Legion-style, where my reward item also
wasn't tier... and in fact a trinket I already had. Ah well! Still
fun to do.
Also got to honor level 93 through the brawl.

Finally got the Ashenvale Chimaera, a mount from a Darkshore
warfront rare, and indeed my last reward missing from either
warfront. So done with those!

With the warfront rares done, I think I'll farm the 8.3 invasion
rares first, for mounts, pets and toys. I'll only target one at a
time this time, though, since it can be a long wait for respawn...
and I've decided on Ha-Li during the mogu invasion.

The Chimaera itself is quite nice, and the model seems to be a
precursor to those Maldraxxus flying drakes.

Have had no time for alt this week though, with holidays, things
to watch on tv, timewalks and lfr. Maybe next week!
