Word of Warning on Shadowlands Mission Tables: Be careful when you
do the MIssion Table Campaign, as it's possible to find yourself in

Thank you, Falco. : )
[4:03 PM]
Aiya Falco, Irmo, and Phar!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:03 PM
To Eonwe: I've now started mission tables, and I'm really paranoid
as to when to move through the campaign, not sure what levels they
need to be
Arien ValarToday at 4:04 PM
Aiya Valarites
VardaToday at 4:05 PM
Aiya Arien : )
[4:05 PM]

Yeah, but I don't know when to put in the next toe
Arien ValarToday at 4:07 PM
very nice name
VardaToday at 4:07 PM
When you start teetering on the first one! Sorry, I have no idea

He's not sure if snow coming for the first time in his area will
blow out his internet, but thought it likely. A butterfly might too.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:12 PM
Snow will blow out his internet, wind will freeze his internet?
VardaToday at 4:12 PM
You guys don't have to go quiet. Toss in comments for your game,
too.
[4:12 PM]
A sneeze six miles away might too. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:12 PM
Eh, it's not like internet is essential for anything!
VardaToday at 4:13 PM
Right. Just fun, communication, that sort of thing. Back to snail
mail and tabletop!

the server?
[4:19 PM]
WoW has that too, for a long time, right? How did people like it?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:20 PM
Well, they weren't too keen on the real-money costs of gender/race
changes, but with SL they've been added to the barbershop for free.
[4:20 PM]
People are quite happy with that
Arien ValarToday at 4:20 PM
i can imagine
[4:21 PM]
faction change is still payable tho or?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:21 PM
Think so. As is name.
[4:21 PM]
Would be odd to change your faction in a capital's barbershop and
then get attacked by guards when you step out
VardaToday at 4:22 PM
The name is a separate change in LotRO. And that could get awkward
with the guards!

We're ok here, no illness, just a lot of chilly rain.
[4:32 PM]
On to...
[4:32 PM]
top
Tolkien!
[4:32 PM]
If you have a question or topic of your own, please feel free to
bring it up!
[4:32 PM]
Or we can discuss this:
[4:33 PM]
Tolkien gave us multiple offerings of the
"common" man doing uncommon heroics, Sam being one of them and most
well-known. Who is another?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:33 PM
More hobbits come to mind, like Fredegar.
VardaToday at 4:34 PM
Agreed.
[4:34 PM]
Hobbits were intended to show us the "common man" and we see a good
number of them doing great things.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:34 PM
Even Lobelia!
VardaToday at 4:34 PM
Inventing the game of golf with Golfimbul.
[4:35 PM]
Aye to that!
[4:36 PM]
Fredegar "Fatty" Bolger is a really good example, since his story
was gone into during the main story.
[4:36 PM]
He was a friend to Frodo, a member of the friendly "Conspiracy" to
find out what he was worried about and then helping him.
[4:37 PM]
Fredegar and Merry hurried to set up Frodo's new house in
Crickhollow, and make it comfortable. Even baths and supper.
[4:37 PM]
That is heroic enough, heh, but
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:38 PM
Can't slack on a hobbit's comfort
VardaToday at 4:38 PM
it would seem that Fredegar's reluctance to leave the Shire to
become one of the companions would rule him out. It does not. Why
not?
[4:38 PM]
Just cooking for a bunch of hobbits is quite the feat. ; )
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:38 PM
He stayed behind as a diversion for the Black Riders, I recall
VardaToday at 4:38 PM
Right!
[4:39 PM]
He wore Frodo's clothes to confuse them, incredibly dangerous.
[4:39 PM]
But he was also smart.
[4:39 PM]
As they came one way, he ran out the back and set off the Horn Call
of Buckland.
[4:39 PM]
The riders discovered they didn't have Frodo, just his cloak/coat?
[4:40 PM]
and that they were about to be swarmed by angry hobbits with
pitchforks et cetera.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:40 PM
Frodo had a habit of getting his coat taken by bad guys.
VardaToday at 4:40 PM
Staying was not worth it, thanks to Fredegar.
[4:40 PM]
At least it's not a hat. : )
[4:41 PM]
Interesting. Do you think that might have been a precursor to the
mithril shirt?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:41 PM
Seems unlikely to be intentional.
VardaToday at 4:41 PM
Just as a plot device, I mean.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:41 PM
Well, I'm not sure if Tolkien himself noticed that.
VardaToday at 4:42 PM
He's quite subtle. I'm uncertain, but it's interesting.
[4:42 PM]
Fredegar wasn't through being heroic, although he could have sat
back and puffed his pipe and told the tale just as he was.
[4:42 PM]
In Return of the King, Ch. 9 "The Grey Havens":
[4:43 PM]
Tolkien Moment incomiing!
[4:43 PM]
...The day after the battle Frodo rode to Michel Delving
and released the prisoners from the Lockholes.
One of the first that they found was poor Fredegar Bolger, Fatty
no longer.
He had been taken when the ruffians smoked out a band of rebels
that he led from their hidings up in the Brockenbores by the hills
of Scary.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:43 PM
Flatty Bolger.
VardaToday at 4:43 PM
: )
"You would have done better to come with us after all,
poor old Fredegar!" said Pippin as they carried him out, too weak
to walk.
He opened an eye and tried gallantly to smile.
"Who's this young giant with the loud voice?" he whispered. "Not
little Pippin! What's your size in hats now?"
[4:44 PM]
End quote.
[4:44 PM]
.
[4:44 PM]
So we see that he led a band of rebels, and had a place they
operated from.
[4:45 PM]
Then he doesn't moan about his awful time in the Lockhole but notes
what is in front of him, who is talking, changes.
[4:45 PM]
Even manages to crack a joke.
IrmoToday at 4:46 PM
Unsung hero
VardaToday at 4:47 PM
Aye
[4:48 PM]
Fredegar wasn't "praised with great praise" by the High KIng
[4:48 PM]
but Aragorn did make the Shire off-limits to all uninvited at least,
even himself. Anyone remember if even an invitation worked?
[4:50 PM]
The hobbits were among the few really loyal, talking about "when the
King comes again" as one of their sayings.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:50 PM
Sending a few token archers into the war, that kind of thing.
VardaToday at 4:50 PM
Any other comments? Lobelia mentioned earlier had her own greatness.
IrmoToday at 4:51 PM
I would metion Farmer Cotton
VardaToday at 4:51 PM
I wonder how many archers went to the great war, just a few
apparently were noticed.
[4:51 PM]
A very good mention! A brave solo act there at first, as if painting
a target on his back.
[4:51 PM]
Go ahead, Irmo.
IrmoToday at 4:53 PM
And there was also the other farmer, with the dogs and mushrooms,
who gave the nazgul a big mouth, what wasa his name again
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:54 PM
Maggot!
IrmoToday at 4:54 PM
yep
[4:54 PM]
Firm people with their feet on the ground
[4:55 PM]
Alright, I am off to bed, lots of meetings tomorrow

[4:59 PM]
We can adjourn.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:59 PM
Any non-hobbits?
VardaToday at 4:59 PM
a tiny gavel hops rapidly towards the hammerpad
[5:00 PM]
the hammerpad rolls away and bumps into another tiny gavel
twank!

After-meeting!
[5:01 PM]
Aye, good question. How about Eowyn, a woman who was supposed to
stay behind when she wanted to be up front doing heroic deeds? And
killed the Witch-king (with Merry's assistance).
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:09 PM
Yes, that works
Eonwë ValarToday at 5:31 PM
Heya all.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:31 PM
Aiya!
Arien ValarToday at 5:31 PM
Aiya Eonwe
Eonwë ValarToday at 5:33 PM
How goes it?
Arien ValarToday at 5:33 PM
getting tired here
[5:34 PM]
but fine else
[5:35 PM]
what about Ioreth the wisewoman in the house of healing who
remembered her sister had some Ahelas left?#
[5:37 PM]
or Faramir son of Denethor who was constantly belittled by his
father yet kept completing impossible tasks and true heroics?
[5:39 PM]
however .. i will follow the dreamlord into his realm
[5:39 PM]
My days off have changed to Thursday and Friday
Eonwë ValarToday at 5:39 PM
Faramir is hardly "the common man" though.
Arien ValarToday at 5:39 PM
True but an unsung hero
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:40 PM
Very true. Unsung by his father anyway.
Arien ValarToday at 5:40 PM
aye
[5:40 PM]
Eonwe go ahead
[5:41 PM]

VardaToday at 5:43 PM
Interesting! So it did snow.
[5:43 PM]
I've seen snow melt by the time it got down to the height of my

Hood Episode 2
You#39ve tracked the young girl with auburn hair
into the swamp, but what is she after?
[6:54 PM]
Yep, this is part 2.
[6:57 PM]
Continue as the witch hunter going into the forest, where, trying to
find the target you're still after, you stumble on a metal vessel
left behind by an ancient civilization. Pretty short part, basically
have to fix the ship
[6:57 PM]
Walkthroughs are online, buuut you probably won't need them that
much, it's not that long.
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:13 PM
On the Shadowlands Mission Tables: You could probably do three or
four of the Mission Table Campaign Missions before you notice it. I
didn't really notice how most of my missions were now a bit out of
reach until I got to the point where I get the mission that rewards
Soul Ash.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:13 PM
Ah
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:15 PM
I'm putting off the next campaign mission because of it, working up
more of my followers, and moving up the ones I've been getting brand
new.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:15 PM
Sounds about right.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:29 PM
Blizzard gaming:
[7:29 PM]
Heroes of the Storm:
Yet another level, to 441 Lucio to level 13!
Hearthstone:
Reward track now at 44. At this rate, 2 more weeks should do it
[7:32 PM]
Brawl was... interesting. Every turn you get 2 powerful cards to
choose from; one goes to you, the one you don't choose goes to your
opponent.
[7:33 PM]
Some tactical stuff in play, since a high-mana card can still be
pretty bad or gimmicky, or just not suit your deck very well, as you
hope it doesn't suit the opponent's deck either
[7:33 PM]
The real problem though is.. handsize.
[7:34 PM]
You get a new card to choose on your turn, you get a new card
from the opponent's choice, and you draw a new card every turn. So
you basically get 3 new cards for every turn, most of them with
pretty high mana.
[7:35 PM]
As you can imagine... there's even some strategy in choosing
low-mana cards out of the 2 in the hopes of letting your opponent
burn through his cards faster.
[7:35 PM]
WoW:
Been quite busy indeed.
[7:37 PM]
(oh, new legendary card in Hearthstone, Tickatus the warlock minion
for the new expansion... really interesting "corrupt" minion if
expensive).
[7:38 PM]
(back to WoW)
[7:39 PM]
Anyway, I'm raiding again! Got 2 or 3 epics from my first raid
(still undergeared) on Tuesday, and after a friend from the
raidgroup poked me the next day and gave me a bunch of crafted gear
for the other slots, I was pushed to ilevel 172, which is pretty
decent for normal raiding.
[7:41 PM]
On thursday we did rather well, clearing the first 7 bosses - as far
as all progress had gone on the previous reset - and then tonight we
actually broke down the last 3 bosses as well! Sludgefist was simple
enough, but the Generals and Sire Denathrius were rather
complicated... but we still got through it with some attempts,
thereby clearing normal Nathria!
[7:42 PM]
Got all 5 legendary powers available from the raidbosses, since
they're 100% droprate if you don't have them yet. Also helped to get
my renown to level 7, as part of the catchup system.
[7:44 PM]
Continued questing for my Covenant, starting the command table
stuff, completing the first two chapters of the covenant campaign,
and a lot of Maw quests as well, unlocking the Runecarver (letting
me acquire legendary powers) and rescuing Baine from Torghast.
[7:45 PM]
While doing the first calling for the first covenant chapter, I came
across an item that let me summon a rare in Ardenweald.. which
dropped a new mount, the Arboreal Gulper, a nicelooking frog
After all that questing I decided to embark on the Sojourner
achievements for sidequests in the first 4 zones. Completed Bastion
and Maldraxxus. Ardenweald and Revendreth only have one questline
remaining each, so hopefully I'll be able to finish those soon.
[7:47 PM]
Along the Bastion and Maldraxxus quests I got a new pet, the Helpful
Glimmerfly and two toys: Glimmerflies on Strings, and the
Necronom-i-nom.
[7:47 PM]
And finally, the weekly quest is arena skirmishes: Guardian spec
isn't quite as good in arena as it used to be before SL, but still
decent enough, especially with those gear upgrades.
[7:48 PM]
Got enough honor along the way to buy the two honor-bought
legendaries, too.
[7:49 PM]
So this week I got 7 legendary powers already Natural Order's
Will, Memory of the Mother Tree, Sephuz's Proclamation, Oath of the
Elder Druid, Frenzyband, Circle of Life and Death, and Oneth's Clear
Vision.
[7:50 PM]
Natural Order's Will and Frenzyband are quite good for guardian and
feral respectively, and probably a target for me to craft
legendaries with. But even for the ones I won't use, I love
collecting them!
[7:50 PM]
And that's my report for the week!
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:50 PM
Congrats :}
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:50 PM
Thanks
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:50 PM
I've got three of the legendary powers so far.
[7:51 PM]
One from Valinor as I mentioned last week I think :}
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:51 PM
Ah yes, the world boss. I killed the one in Maldraxxus this week -
which got me a renown, actually - but no legendary power yet
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:52 PM
That one was FInal Verdict for Ret. Also got Infloresence of the
Sunwell for Holy and Reign of the Endless Kings for Prot.(edited)
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:52 PM
Actually, I think my worldboss legendary power comes from the
Ardenweald one.
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:53 PM
I've been toying with the idea of making my Legendary, but decided
I'd wait until I got to exalted with Bastion for the possibility of
saving a few coins on the mats.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:53 PM
Looks like that's different per class.
[7:53 PM]
Hmm, is wise.
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:53 PM
I completed the Outdoor world set Bastion gives for the Campaign
this week too.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:53 PM
I want to craft mine, but leatherworking can still wait a bit
[7:53 PM]
Oh, grats!
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:54 PM
In the process of upgrading the pieces, but it's alot of anima to
burn all at once.
[7:54 PM]
Thanks :}
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:54 PM
Myes. So you completed the campaign chapters for it?
[7:54 PM]
I think I've only gotten the chest unlocked so far.
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:54 PM
Aye.
[7:54 PM]
Chest was the last piece for Bastion.
[7:54 PM]
190 ilvl.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:54 PM
Ah.
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:55 PM
It has one last tier to upgrade. I upgraded one other piece, so 2/8
are at 190.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:55 PM
Nice.
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:55 PM
My current ilvl is 175.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:56 PM
I'll probably have replaced most of them by raidpieces by the time I
can upgrade them... if I'm lucky
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:56 PM
More than likely, hehe.
[7:56 PM]
I'm not in a terrible hurry to get to raiding, or terribly excited
for dungeons. Maybe when I start getting into it it'll surprise me.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:57 PM
Yeah, been taking it easy with renown, don't want to get overwhelmed
with campaign stuff. Level 7 now, but that's mostly from raiding and
the few chapters I've already done.
[7:57 PM]
But after Sojourner is done... I'm throwing myself at as many world
quests and callings as possible
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:57 PM
21 I think is this week's cap.
[7:57 PM]
hehe
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:57 PM
Luckily for me, next week is world quest week as well!
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:57 PM
Aye, hehe.
[7:58 PM]
I also gave the Twisting Corridors a go.
[7:59 PM]
18 levels per go. Be ready to sit down.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:59 PM
Not me. Only done Torghast for quests so far, and 6 floors alone
take a while
[7:59 PM]
But I like it!
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:59 PM
Did the first two divisions, whatever they're calling them again.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:59 PM
Will enjoy working my way up.
[7:59 PM]
wings? layers?
Eonwë ValarToday at 7:59 PM
Checked my Achievement. Looks like they went with "Layers."
It can be rough in those layers. Took some serious hits. And I
dislike having to walk across narrow paths over a wide open space.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:02 PM
Hah.
[8:02 PM]
I dislike the spike traps the most, especially with axes.
Eonwë ValarToday at 8:02 PM
They've got chains to walk across in there, and falling costs a
death, which you get a limited number of. I pity those who get
anxious walking across those things for that reason.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:02 PM
That killed me several times in one of the quest scenarios.
[8:02 PM]
Oof.
Eonwë ValarToday at 8:04 PM
After Layer 2, I'm wondering if I should hold off to upgrade a bit
more before I try Layer 3, or just count on RNG of anima powers
since that'll make a bigger difference.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:05 PM
Up to you Might as well give it a few tries if you want.
Eonwë ValarToday at 8:05 PM
Got nothing but gold to lose, lol.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:06 PM
Exactly! Gold and time.
Eonwë ValarToday at 8:06 PM
Got a pet for Layer 2 completion. Layer 4 gives a mount that works
in the Maw.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:07 PM
Yeah, I think it goes up to 8 for the rewards.
Eonwë ValarToday at 8:08 PM
Bah, correction. Layer 8 gives the mount, Layer 4 gives a toy.
[8:08 PM]
Layers 2/4/6/8 give rewards: Pet/Toy/Title/Mount
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:08 PM
Ah
Eonwë ValarToday at 8:09 PM
So I'll be "Mawwalker" rather than "Mawrider" for quite a while yet.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:09 PM
heh
[8:10 PM]
well, Namarie
Eonwë ValarToday at 8:10 PM
Sleep well :}
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:10 PM
Thanks
[8:11 PM]
you too!
