That cake is being hidden, for Fangorn's birthday next month! And
you spotted it!
[4:05 PM]
Oh - I was away one week. It was lots of fun, lots of travel, lots
of walking. : ) [Note: "week" as in the meeting for that week.]
[4:05 PM]
Since we're already meeting and chatting, guess I'll make it
"official", hah.
[4:05 PM]

Varda — Today at 4:05 PM
The cake is hidden, not a lie. This time.
[4:06 PM]
It's just parts for it. ; )
[4:06 PM]
Or I could make it and we could eat it and make another! Yesssss
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:06 PM
Salutations all.
Varda — Today at 4:07 PM
Aiya Eonwe : )
Maha — Today at 4:07 PM
Test cake is the best cake
Ioreth — Today at 4:07 PM
Dibs on the spoon
Varda — Today at 4:07 PM
We need many tests.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:07 PM
Practice makes perfect, hehe.
Varda — Today at 4:07 PM
Multiple spoons from Lobelia's umbrella. No problem.
Maha — Today at 4:08 PM
Practice makes 'purrrrfect'!
Varda — Today at 4:08 PM
Aiya Ioreth : )
[4:09 PM]
Dis popped into LotRO just a bit ago. Can't put up Discord
and the game at the same time.
Irmo — Today at 4:09 PM
Heya Ioreth, wholesome healer, and Eonwë heroic herald
Varda — Today at 4:10 PM
Ioreth who can spot a king even hidden!
[4:10 PM]
Any membership news?
[4:11 PM]
Oh, Gimli is visiting our house. : )
Ioreth — Today at 4:11 PM
I think that is my favorite passage
Varda — Today at 4:11 PM
He introduced Sauron to Lego Lord of the Rings, heh.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:11 PM
Without the axe I'm assuming?
Varda — Today at 4:11 PM
Is that a good or bad thing?
[4:12 PM]
Gimli always has an axe. : ) [Note: the character always has an axe;
the guild member does not.]
[4:12 PM]
Our Gimli is stocky strong, trimmed beard, but tall. We have to use
camera angles to shorten him, same as movies.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:13 PM
Walking into an Ent's domicile with an axe? Sounds dangerous :}
Varda — Today at 4:13 PM
He says it's for hewing orcs. Sauron calls that "training". [Note:
it's RP, people.]

Also in gaming news, Amazon's LotR MMO was cancelled.
Varda — Today at 4:19 PM
Thank you to Celebrian for letting us know about that.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:19 PM
Didn't grab an article for the announcement before the meeting, but
Celebrian seems to have also noted it and we have a link on the News

Baggins"
Arien Valar — Today at 4:23 PM
((two screenies from said expedition in the screenie channel ))
Varda — Today at 4:23 PM
It has a batch of missions, which are short instances. Finishing
gives a reward.
[4:24 PM]
Ahh, Arien is showing us the sights of Zul' gurub. : ) Your
travel guide lady!
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:25 PM
very nostalgic
Varda — Today at 4:30 PM
I have just been told that I've been typing in Harbor. /facepalm
[4:30 PM]
Thanks Eonwe. : )
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:30 PM

Also, Ioreth has shown up in LotRO, been about a month, and
apparently no one seemed to realize to say hi.
[4:32 PM]
It can get tricky to see folks coming online, and it really helps to
say hi first so we know a person has loaded in.
[4:32 PM]
A hi can be missed if said before load-in, unless it's whispered.
Ioreth — Today at 4:32 PM
I sneaky
Varda — Today at 4:32 PM
You're pulling a Gollum on us!
[4:33 PM]
We'll try to hassle you more next time you're on. ; )
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:33 PM
I hope I'm not a culprit. I'm on pretty late when I pop in for
moments at a time so usually no one else is in there when I do.
[4:33 PM]
If I am, consider this an official "Hi Ioreth" :}
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:33 PM
Takes me back to a Legion daily heroic dungeon where nobody said a
word, not even a greeting, for the entire instance.
Varda — Today at 4:33 PM
It can be easy to miss checking. I have to make an effort to do it,
especially when going through a stack of alts.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:34 PM
It was all smooth and.. friendly, as far as it can be, I suppose,
just with zero use of chat.,
Varda — Today at 4:34 PM
I remember dropping a group in Everquest as a healer, because after
the initial invitation not a word was said to me in a month.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:34 PM
Well, this was a pug group, not a larger community
Varda — Today at 4:35 PM
Sometimes chat is being done on a special talking program and they
forget to type or forget to invite a person to that program.
[4:35 PM]
Then that was amazing, that they were all quiet!
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:36 PM
And telling, also, about the mechanical grindiness of dungeons these
days. It's a chore. We go in, we do our stuff, and we leave. No
social aspect.
Varda — Today at 4:36 PM
Ick.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:36 PM
Though lately it's been better, though.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:36 PM
I miss my Paladin's blessings.
Shelob — Today at 4:36 PM
Takes me back to Northrend Heroics were the healer went DPS without
a word and cleared the instance within 15 minutes.
Varda — Today at 4:36 PM
heh
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:36 PM
haha
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:37 PM
I liked throwing blessings on random people as I rode by.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:37 PM
I mean, that particular one was pretty late in the expansion. So I
guess people knew what to do and were a bit tired of the content.
Varda — Today at 4:37 PM
Likely.
Ioreth — Today at 4:38 PM
Druids used to have a spell they could do that with
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:38 PM
Sometimes happens to me when a priest or mage runs by and buffs me
out in the world, Eonwe. Always makes me feel guilty that I don't
have mark of the wild anymore.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:38 PM
Mark of the Wild, aye.
Varda — Today at 4:38 PM
And that was fun to do, Eonwe. : ) (I did have a couple of
paladins for a little while.) [Note: also did on my main priest.]
Arien Valar — Today at 4:38 PM
sounds fun hehe
Varda — Today at 4:38 PM
In other news, Arien was asked about how the vaccination went and
did the same as I did, typing in Harbor.
[4:39 PM]
Could you give your info now, Arien?
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:39 PM
Priests seem to like to give me Fortitude when I'm not paying
attention. I look up at my buffs and noticed it's down to 50 minutes
and I'm like "When did that happen?"
Varda — Today at 4:39 PM
hehe Eonwe
Ioreth — Today at 4:39 PM
get folks who were queued for pvp ask for buffs, but I think they
remove buffs when you zone in now
Varda — Today at 4:39 PM
Awww
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:40 PM
Yeah, crossing certain zone boundaries will wipe buffs. Exiting
Torghast turns off my aura.
Arien Valar — Today at 4:41 PM
right sorry folks that i have to interrupt again but my valarguild
time has been cut short a bit by real life .. Eonwe knows the
drill but yeah anyway Vaccination went well , although
we did feel a little *hung over" yesterday .. mainly tired but
otherwise fine . Today we are both much better. And the vaccine was
Astra Zeneca
[4:41 PM]
I would have preferred something else . different vaccine but they
didnt have any other
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:42 PM
Ah, grats, then And I hope it's just the meeting that's cut
short?
Arien Valar — Today at 4:42 PM
well tlhe time i can be at the meeting :/
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:42 PM
Yep, not your time in the guild, I meant!
Arien Valar — Today at 4:42 PM
no of course not silly
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:42 PM
Alright
Arien Valar — Today at 4:43 PM
what should i do without you :O?
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:43 PM
Have free sundays?
[4:43 PM]
But yes
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:43 PM
Glad you're doing ok Arien :} Guess we won't plot out the next 20
chapters of the RP tonight :} (I kid :})
Arien Valar — Today at 4:43 PM
hehe
[4:44 PM]
feel free i can always read up and i can give my two cents
afterwards in discord
Varda — Today at 4:44 PM
Just 21.
[4:44 PM]
Discord makes a handy message center. : )
Arien Valar — Today at 4:44 PM
indeed
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:44 PM
Whenever we plan 20 chapters forward we always end up forgetting our
plans 2 chapters in.
[4:44 PM]
Well, I do.
Varda — Today at 4:45 PM
That's why we have to write a few things down, like an outline!
[4:45 PM]
Maybe a bulleted list? : )
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:45 PM
That's why I started the compilation in the discussion thread.
[4:46 PM]
Then I decided just linking to the discussions in the meeting
minutes would be easier, heh.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:46 PM
hehe
Varda — Today at 4:47 PM
We need a simple outline, really. Doesn't have to be in-depth and it
can be changeable as we go.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:48 PM
I think we do that. A real simple one: "Here's where we start.
Here's where the chapter ends." heh.
Varda — Today at 4:48 PM
Do we have any other gaming news?
[4:48 PM]
haha Eonwe, yep.

Eonwë Valar — Today at 4:50 PM
I will say about the RP, in
relation to Phar's post: I like it. Short and sweet. Anticipates
something Auros was going to be bringing up, but that's not a
problem really.

Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:52 PM
Wasn't sure what you were going to bring up, but the conclusion at
the end I just interpreted from your post
[4:52 PM]
And yeah, I was just... let's summarize this stuff, don't need to go
over in detail, but put in some of Calion's commentary.
[4:52 PM]
And of course when I started writing, it wrote itself...
Varda — Today at 4:54 PM
Just now read Phar's post.
[4:54 PM]

Ioreth — Today at 4:56 PM
Didn't want anyone to be like that one Samuel Clemens book written
by oiji board
Varda — Today at 4:56 PM
heh, that would not be our first choice either!
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 4:57 PM
Well, from that wiki it seems the author was in cahoots with
Christopher, so it seems trustworthy.
Varda — Today at 4:57 PM
Amazon actually selling it suggests it's at least a book.
[4:58 PM]
Hoffstetter and Flieger together wrote Tolkien's Legendarium

Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 5:01 PM
Namarie both!
Varda — Today at 5:01 PM
And just in mention, here's the topic from Eonwe:
[5:01 PM]
What differences are there in the situation where Boromir deemed
himself strong enough to wield the Ring, and Aragorn deemed himself
strong enough to use the palantir?
[5:01 PM]
I did take too long to get around to it. We have reached the hour.
[5:02 PM]
So we can be thinking about it some more this week, for those of us
that didn't do any looking up since last week!
[5:02 PM]
gavel walks along the table, reading a book
gavel trips over hammerpad
clunkety-clunk
After-meeting:

Eonwë Valar — Today at 5:04 PM
I'll be plotting Auros' present this week in addition to plotting
his past, so hopefully I'll have my next RP
post by the end of said week, since I already had the basics plotted
out ahead of time.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 5:05 PM
I hope my post didn't get too much in the way, then
Eonwë Valar — Today at 5:06 PM
No, you just beat me to bringing something up, so I may or may not
reword it in my post(s) depending on how redundant it feels to me.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 5:06 PM
alright
Eonwë Valar — Today at 5:06 PM
Technically the group hasn't had the conversation yet, so still some
room.

Shelob — Today at 5:15 PM
Several thousand years later Auros was finished with his task.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 5:15 PM
We're into the real compelling content now.
[5:16 PM]
This is what the fans want to know. How much "fog" is really in the
"fog."
Shelob — Today at 5:16 PM
Auros was lucky Shelob did not eat him while he was occupied.
[5:19 PM]
Auros counted his blessings.
[5:20 PM]
Another thousand years passed while he was busy with that task.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 5:20 PM
Auros the Paladin has exactly 0 blessings thanks to Blizzard.
Shelob — Today at 5:20 PM
I think there are still some blessings.
Eonwë Valar — Today at 5:21 PM
In the strictest sense, in that they're called Blessings, sure.
[5:22 PM]
They used to be Blessings, then they renamed them to "Hands" then
back to Blessings when they stripped Greater Blessings of any
uniqueness or memorability.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 5:22 PM
Oh, blessing, blessing, wherefore art thou blessing...
Shelob — Today at 5:23 PM
To blessing or not to blessing. This is the question.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 5:23 PM
What's in a name?
Shelob — Today at 5:23 PM
All your blessing are belong to us.
Ar-Pharazon-V — Today at 5:23 PM

Collect the pickups in each level and defeat the

this one has An upgrade roguelike game taking place over a
system of islands. Kill enemies, collect gold, buy upgrades. Find
npcs for buffs and more upgrades. Make your way across the islands,
getting better after each death, until you can defeat the 3 bosses!

is the third game! And for a medium badge, this was.. quite the
adventure.

[6:07 PM]
A point and click adventure game, part of a series, with people to
talk to, puzzles to beat, clues to collect, the story to advance,
and finally compiling a tale to win a competition with, though it's
really a bit of a sideplot there
[6:08 PM]
Took me several hours to complete, but it's a very nice experience
with a smooth atmosphere, music and graphics. It seems the original
game to which these chapters are a prequel didn't survive the death
of flash, but otherwise it does seem like a series I'll have to look
into more later.

Aiya!
[6:10 PM]
In all, all 3 games this week come highly recommended by me, if
they're your thing
top
[6:16 PM]
Guild Wars:
Did the 3 missions in the Maguuma jungle, as well as the routes for
the primary quests along the way. Beautiful place, but a bit
confusing sometimes.
[6:18 PM]
One of them had a race game where you have to attune 3 crystals at
the same time before the enemy does. Tricky with just 1 player and
the rest of the party npcs, but if you position them at one crystal
and then run back and forth yourself, the enemy npcs will eventually
run out, so it's still doable!
[6:18 PM]
Now back in Kryta, for the next 2 missions
[6:21 PM]
Oh, and getting back to the higher levels where I'm getting xp
again, though in small amounts. There's a title/achievement for
getting so much xp without dying, which I might be interested in,
but I'm not going to grind particular spots for it... I'll probably
just do a mission here and there and try not to die
[6:22 PM]
Heroes of the Storm:
still level 452. Probably remaining that way for a bit, since most
of my current heroes still have a good way to go until next level.
We'll see!
[6:23 PM]
Did get a few D.Va fights in, though. Always fun
[6:26 PM]
Hearthstone:
48 on the reward track now, with a golden rare along the way, as
well as some other rewards. Almost halfway!
[6:26 PM]
No new level, though DH is getting close.
[6:27 PM]
Brawl's fun and simple, choose class, choose 3 cards, get 10 of
each.
[6:27 PM]
Made a bit of a broken mage deck myself, with fireballs, a
draw/refresh card, and a spell that reduces the cost of all other
spells in your deck.
[6:28 PM]
If it goes well, you'll end up with 5 fireballs in your hand to
spend for 0 mana
[6:28 PM]
WoW:
[6:29 PM]
Raiding, not much to tell. Gearing up of some newer players, in
preparation to get them heroic Denathrius.
[6:29 PM]
Maybe we'll go for him again on tuesday, not sure.
[6:32 PM]
Weekly is arena skirmishes, which coincides nicely with the arena
brawl. While probably my favorite brawl to do, and it counts for the
skirmishes, it didn't seem worth it to win 10 of those instead, as
the queue for it can be a lot bigger and I get my fair share of wins
in normal skirmishes anyway.
[6:32 PM]
Guardian's still pretty powerful, and I've gotten 8 out of 10 wins
so far, in my usual pattern of 4 on wednesday, then 1 each day to
get maximum honor out of it
[6:35 PM]
Completed the quests around the legendary spirit unlocked from
conservatory tier 2, who now gives a weekly quest to plant a
specific spirit and get a choice of catalyst. While not really worth
doing it for the catalysts, might as well do it anyway as you use
the conservatory normally, and there's an achievement for all 4
different ones as well.
[6:37 PM]
Also upgraded it to tier 3! New questline for another legendary
spirit has started, but I'll probably not do the dungeon to acquire
said spirit until friday. No rush there. Tier 3 did unlock a few new
seed and catalyst slots, though, which is useful, and I started
planting for the 2-grain quality rewards.
[6:38 PM]
But I did get some rewards from the 1-grain pool, including a few
cosmetic items and a new soulshape, the Snapper turtle!
[6:38 PM]
Very nice, using it for now
[6:39 PM]
In fact, I think the turtle was the one I had my eye on from the
start of the expansion, when we had the list of soulshapes but I
didn't know the sources yet.
[6:39 PM]
But here it is
[6:40 PM]
First conservatory goal complete, more to go!
[6:40 PM]
And finally alting!
[6:41 PM]
Got the paladin to level 30 as expected, unlocking a bunch of titles
and stuff, after completing Teldrassil.
[6:41 PM]
Then switched to the sass rogue! Still enjoying the green poison mog
I gave him
[6:42 PM]
I maxed out his bags, cleaned up his bags and bank somewhat, gave
him some heirlooms (most of which he already had) and set up his
action bars and talents so far, starting at level 25.
[6:44 PM]
Was a bit confused as where to go, since between vanilla, cataclysm
and the recent level revamp, his quest log seems to be progressing
in 5 zones at once. But I saw a quest open in Dun Morogh, so sent
him there. No better place to start than the starting zone, right?
[6:44 PM]
So he's parked there now, and I'm looking forward to actually play
him and see if I can get used to the assassin rotations
[6:49 PM]
Aaand that's my report for the week!
