The Breaking of the Fellowship, [u]The
Fellowship of the Ring[/u] Chapter 10
I don't know how to underline in Discord, so let's pretend I did
that right for the book title.

To set the scene:

Boromir just tried to take the Ring from Frodo. Frodo put it on and
vanished. Boromir came to his senses and returned to the group,
finding that Frodo had not returned. Everyone scatters to look for
him, completely ignoring Aragorn. Aragorn follows after Sam and
tells him to keep up as they see that Frodo had gone the way they
were heading. Sam falls behind quickly.

This reminds me of when Frodo and Sam are speaking with Faramir, and
he says "We are truthspeakers, we men of Gondor."

It also reminds us as readers that the Fellowship has been around
eachother, interacting with eachother, enough for Sam to know that
lying isn't "Boromir's way." We might not see every interaction, but
Sam was there and he knows that much about Boromir, whatever other
reservations he may have.

of the Ring on people. I think he had probably forgiven Boromir
before Cormallen.

Both Gandalf and Galadriel laied out before him why it would be
dangerous for them to wield the Ring. Boromir, while not as great in
the kind of power those two wield, was a great man in his own right.
He failed because he deemed himself strong enough to resist it and
in so doing proved himself incapable.

Faramir, had adamantly refused.

Guild Wars: 2 new missions done in Kryta, leaving me in the Maguuma
Jungle, where I travelled along to the next mission starting place
as well.

In Kryta I decided to cross the explorable area between the two
missions; completing the first sends you all the way to the start of
the second, but on the physical map there are several explorable
zones where I've done quests in the past, and I thought I'd try to
walk there instead.

As it turns out, they later, in preparation for Guild Wars 2, added
several post-campaign storylines for those who've finished all the
missions before.... including some level 20 enemy troops patrolling
through those explorable zones, making my journey a bit tougher.

Since the henchmen you can hire there are still level 12.

It's not necessary to go there by foot, of course, since completing
the campaign missions requires you to have unlocked the mission
place already, so I guess they didn't worry too much about that.

But for me, seeking a challenge and some continuity in my current
playthrough, it got pretty impossible to take on some of the largest
groups with healers among them.

Luckily there's several roads available and I managed to avoid a few
patrols

Heroes of the Storm: 1 level gained, to 452! Good old Stitches to
level 9. Several MVPs with him as well

Hearthstone: First Book of Mercenaries is released, Rokara. For

Reading through them on the blog, it seems there is a common thread
among them, with several grouping up or at odds with each other. The
combined storyline should be interesting.

Level 39 in the reward track, getting a few more golden rares and a
card pack along the way.

Brawl is based on the new expansion, with deck recipes for each
class. Tried out a few classes, lost heavily against a warlock,
tried the warlock, and beat another warlock

Anecdotal evidence I'm sure, but if you're going for it, might want
to try that warlock!

Raiding: Well, heroic Denathrius defeated at last! Clutch kill with
only 2 players surviving, but good enough

As a Night Fae member, killing him on heroic gives a guaranteed

Weekly: Timewalks! Said most of what I have to say about those
earlier, but I can add that I did all 5 for this week now, and got
an ilevel 200... necklace! But I've already got better

Didn't think I had anything left for Noblegarden, didn't look like
any changes this year. But it did turn out that the rewards have
scaled down with level scaling.

As a result, the polymorph: rabbit tome that has been in the game
for about... 12 years now, scaled down to level 25 from the original
60... making it a very nice coincidence that I got my mage alt to
level 25 last week

So after many, many years of "some day I'll level my mage and get
that tome", my Caldaera can finally turn people into bunnies!

Had to gather 100 chocolates with her, of course, but Kharanos
always makes a nice place to farm them.

For Torghast, working on the various bosses and various stealable
abilities, and deciding through those which wing I choose each week.
For this week it was Coldheart Interstitia, where I not only got the
last ability that only can be gotten in Coldheart, but also the last
boss from that wing. So basically I never have to go to that
specific wing again

Got enough pet charms together from missions to buy a new pet, and
this time around I went for the Goldenpaw Kit, for Ascended rep.
Cute little gold fox thingy!

Also got my Conservatory to tier 2, unlocking catalyst plots, the
catalyst vendor and several quests, including a daily quest to do a
world quest in Ardenweald, giving one of the catalysts as reward.

Also another quest in there to get a legendary spirit from killing
the final boss in Tirna Scithe, so that's where I went for this
week's mythic dungeon. And not only did I get the kill... I also got
the pet, the Spinemaw Gormling (my second gormling pet, yay!) and
the Shrieker soulshape from the second boss. So I basically got
everything I wanted from the place in the same run

In the conservatory itself, I've been using catalysts to grow more
catalysts faster, and now have at least one stack of each catalyst.
Should do for a while, since I'm also getting them from other
sources.

So right now I've actually started planting spirits, with one purple
catalyst for each, hoping for the two soulshapes I can get from the
place!

I'll also plant the legendary spirit at some point next week; its
quality has no effect on the random rewards gotten, but it will
spawn a new questgiver. So there's no need to save it until I can
plant more catalysts, it just acts as a normal spirit for rewards'
sake.

Command table troops now 35! The entire contingent of adventurers
slowly moving towards 40.

Oh, and managed to reinforce my fourth conductor stream, so now I
can visit all 6 locations in a day, which also got me an
achievement.

10 streams required for a reinforcement, and I don't think that if
you delay it, it'll already build up for the next 10. So would be a
waste not to!

Finally, more alting! Sent my paladin to Teldrassil, where she's
gotten from 25 to 28. Soon will reach the scaling cap for classic
zones at 30, but might see if I can grind some more levels out of it
anyway before I send her to the Broken Isles.

visit my assassin gnome who's been sitting at 25 for a good while
now.

So new glasses for transmog and the ability to transmog different
shoulders coming in WoW Patch 9.1. Ought to make things interesting.
