The Dreamlord going to sleep. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:13 PM
Anyway, for that I'll point you to the latest screenshot in the screenshots channel, as I've unlocked and created my Kul Tiran druid at last... and based him in name and face on a LotR character!
VardaToday at 4:14 PM
Grats on the unlock!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:14 PM
Thought it might be a fun share, he's not too hard to guess
But if guessing's not your thing, continue
VardaToday at 4:18 PM
Let's see. How many characters had a beard...
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:19 PM
Ah, that's the shadow. He does not have a beard, merely a mustache and sideburns
VardaToday at 4:20 PM

His first name is almost an anagram
VardaToday at 4:23 PM
Neat trick
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:23 PM
I know he's bald in the books but I wanted to go for the movie version. Too bad Kul Tirans aren't curly.
VardaToday at 4:24 PM
Good enough that you got me to guess right!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:24 PM
He does! I like him.
And the Kul Tiran druid forms are great too.
Sometimes I just log on to him in Stormwind to swim around a lake in his drust aquatic form.
VardaToday at 4:26 PM
Ahh, playing. In a game. What a concept!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:26 PM
hehe
VardaToday at 4:26 PM
Happy swimming!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:26 PM

Gaming News!
Eonwe kindly keeps on posting it for us, even when he's stuck working and can't be with us.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:27 PM
Very thoughtful.
VardaToday at 4:27 PM
And just because.. Starting with

Lord of the Rings Online
We had a Producer's Letter come out. I was nervous that it was going to be something like "so sorry but". Instead it was all good stuff they are coming out with. : )
https://www.lotro.com/en/game/articles/lotro-producers-letter-look-2020
O yes, there's a new Challenge server. Not another server, gahhh.
Temporary. Beware when Sauron's glare makes everything suddenly harder!
I will probably see about setting up something there for us to gather to if we want, not required at all, especially temporary.
I don't intend to hang out there much, sorry, but in other news
The big upcoming event is the wedding of Aragorn and Arwen. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:31 PM
I actually drew the Eye of Sauron yesterday, as a guess for a silhouette of an upcoming Kongregate kongpanion. It was a circle!
VardaToday at 4:31 PM
We also get the War of Three Peaks with new content for everybody, and at all levels.
Neato, Phar. : )
and the long-rumored Rohan housing is coming out!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:32 PM
stables?
VardaToday at 4:32 PM
Yes!
Stables. : )
Also custom lighting hooks, heh.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:32 PM
ooh
very.. Rohan?
VardaToday at 4:32 PM
Aye : )
Lots of rumors floating around that we can put some of our personal horses in the stable. : )
Unlikely they can take all of my main character's horses, as that would be insane. : )  But even several would be very cool.
FalcoToday at 4:34 PM
lol I have 18 per character
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:34 PM
I'd like a WoW zoo for all my mounts...
all.. 360 of em
VardaToday at 4:34 PM
Maybe they'll let us rotate out a few? And our goats and elk?
I may have to count all my mounts someday.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:35 PM
and our dragons and turtles and sabers and wolves and... oh wait, those aren't in LotR
VardaToday at 4:35 PM
We do have a huge pet collection. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:36 PM
I have... 1133 pets. Over 1000 unique
VardaToday at 4:36 PM
I just got a flying fox this week.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:36 PM
Ooh
VardaToday at 4:36 PM
Way to go, Phar!
We can make the servers crash.
Well, better let these other games have some screen time too. : )

Some of you are in there right now. At least three people show it. : )

Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:42 PM
Yeah, I saw the story primer. Interesting. I wondered if it was going to close up some retcons but they were mostly small enough to be skipped over entirely.
I am curious if it's leading up to an announcement for something.
Still, it's a good overview.

Any additions to the main reports, or other game news? Eve maybe? Other?
Pallando-ValarToday at 4:47 PM
Yeah
VardaToday at 4:47 PM
yay!
Go for it!
Pallando-ValarToday at 4:48 PM

Eve Online:
Eve has a patch with quite a few changes hitting soon, called "Surgical Strike".
VardaToday at 4:48 PM
ohhh
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:48 PM
Ominous.
Pallando-ValarToday at 4:49 PM
They're nerfing all resistance mods by 20% across the board, as well as restricting Fax to a  single cap booster, taking away support fighters from Supercarriers, and nerfing heavy fighters
VardaToday at 4:50 PM
Bet there is much yelling.
Pallando-ValarToday at 4:50 PM
They're also adding 10% hp to all t1 battleships and nerfing the eagle, legion, loki, and muninn slightly while giving the deimos a slight buff
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:50 PM
a million voices just cried out..
Pallando-ValarToday at 4:50 PM
finally, they're adding 15% damage across the board to all t2 short range ammo.
The overall thrust of this is to heavily reduce the ability of supercaps to fight without support, reducing the ability of FAX to tank entire fleets, and increase the ability for brawling ships to kill things when they get ahold of them.
There is of course much wailing and gnashing of teeth over this, with many people feeling there's going to be deleterious second- and third-order effects on the very things CCP is trying to boost with this, but we'll see once it's rolled out. Go live is the 15th.
VardaToday at 4:53 PM
It sounds as if they did some thinking there, though. So maybe it will work out.

Pallando-ValarToday at 4:53 PM
CCP has a record of more miss than hit with this sort of thing if we're being honest.
But I'm... mildly hopeful.
They're willing to make changes they've put off for years. Hopefully it's not too late.
VardaToday at 4:54 PM
You'll be in the middle of it and can tell us!
Here's hoping it will be good for your game play.

On to which other Valarites have we seen in our games this past week. : )

that I know of had Fangorn, Eowyn, and Faramir (plus non-member Ciaran, who is a whopper of a 6-year old up and coming player of many things).

Anyone else like to mention Valarites from their own games?
Any other suggestions, requests, comments, or requests to knock it off with adding all the sleeping pigs to the kin house?
It must be safe then. rubs hands together in anticipation

Tolkien!
Feel free to mention that you have a question, topic, or Tolkien Moment!
I already know what I think and would love to hear from others.
The idea of the Return of the King seems quite fitting today.
We had more than one king returning or trying to return.
Who is the most obvious, and the one the book title is probably about?
You all know this one cold. Must be off eating chocolate eggs.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:05 PM
sorry, was in timewalk, catching up
Anyway, earlier question, Fladrif was online this week
But yeah. The obvious is probably Aragorn.
I don't think Witch-king returning to fight was that central to the story.l
VardaToday at 5:07 PM
Good to hear about Fladrif. : )
That could be another king we can mention for our list!
Aye to Aragorn.
He was the Chieftain of the Dunedain, so he was already king in the north.
His line protected the people there, both hobbit and humans as those in Bree.
He worked towards becoming king in the south, as his ancestral line had done, making him High King.
So, Return of the High King?
This would unite the kingdoms, bring in allies of elves, dwarves, and hobbits, and make the free peoples able to stand up against Sauron's forces.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:08 PM
...exactly what kind of pipeweed was he smoking for that state to return?
VardaToday at 5:09 PM
heh - nicotine will get you if you don't watch out!
He even had an allied hobbit or perhaps hobbit force of four, to handle the destruction of the One Ring.
Maybe destruction of the enemy by pipeweed as they all fight over getting more of it.
How about Sauron as a returning king?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:10 PM
He certainly saw himself as a king at some point, but I think he was mostly known as a lord or master
And he was slowly returning to power, and the history of war.
VardaToday at 5:11 PM
Sauron had been a king, before some Numenoren guys sailed in.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:11 PM
How dare they.
VardaToday at 5:12 PM
but by the Lord of the Rings time, Sauron was going for total dominance again and looked likely to get it. So the Istari had to be sent in to help push the Free Peoples before he did. They could still bomb out, but they got a nudge.
He was the absolute ruler, or king, who wanted to spread his darkness and total control over Middle-earth.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:12 PM
Maiar to fight a Maia. At least somewhat balanced.
VardaToday at 5:13 PM
Aye, at least in having some idea of what they were up against. They were only supposed to advise.
and lost a lot of their power, and maybe not so good, also lost part of their memory.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:13 PM
But when they started to fall apart, one ended up more empowered, which was useful
VardaToday at 5:14 PM
I wonder if Saruman might have had more hope if he had kept more memory?
That needed done, aye, to replace what was lost.
How about the dwarves?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:14 PM
King under the mountain!
Thorin's return and subsequent death and succession.
VardaToday at 5:15 PM
The Attempt at the Return of the King1
Might not sound quite right?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:15 PM
Well, he was back. For like a day.
VardaToday at 5:15 PM
yay?
Then later, one of his number came back to Moria with help.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:16 PM
better to die a king than to live a... hobo?
VardaToday at 5:16 PM
The dwarves tried to return to Moria and set up a new rulership.
No word came back.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:16 PM
Drums in the deep.
VardaToday at 5:16 PM
Aye : )
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:16 PM
Still, legend has it that a few generations later, some dwarf called Durin the umpteenth did make it to free up Moria at last
VardaToday at 5:16 PM
The Fellowship discovered that the dwarves attempt did not turn out well as not only Sauron's forces were there, but the balrog remained along with other nameless horrors.
yay for the Return of Durin the Umpteenth!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:17 PM
Huzzah!
VardaToday at 5:17 PM
These titles just keep getting wilder.
Then we have those elves.
Mostly they were doing the Leaving of the Kings and everyone down to the Janitor.
Did anyone buck that trend?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:18 PM
I suppose Ea(Ae?)rendi(e?)l was technically the heir to several royal lines, and he did make it back.
So did Galadriel, who would be A QUEEN
NOT DARK BUT BEAUTIFUL AND TERRIBLE AS THE DAWN
cough
VardaToday at 5:20 PM
She was sure thinking about being queen on the way back to Middle-earth, and there was the One Ring. oboy
hands Phar a glass of water
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:21 PM
Thank you.
VardaToday at 5:21 PM
You don't mind a dab of starlight flavoring in it, by any chance?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:21 PM
My insides feel shiny.
VardaToday at 5:22 PM
hehe
How about Thranduil?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:22 PM
I suppose he did leave for war. And came back.
But his father died in the battle I recall, so he did return as a king.
VardaToday at 5:22 PM
All the other elven kingdoms had Rings to help them and lost them! They pretty much decided to leave Middle-earth afterwards.
True, that.
About the only way to become a king was a disaster happening to one's father.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:23 PM
And Thranduil's like, who needs Rings, I never had one and I'm staying right here!
VardaToday at 5:23 PM
Aye!
He was already king in northern Mirkwood, to which his silvans had been pushed back, but in danger from Dol Guldur and constantly fighting.
So he didn't have nearly as much as before, and could have lost it eventually.
With the aid of Celeborn's fighters and Galadriel's magic, the horror at Dol Guldur ended.
Thranduil's people fought the fires and the less magical forces.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:25 PM
And I have it on good authority that there was a pack of cleansed wolves keeping the northwestern part of Mirkwood safe, but that's for later in the RP...
VardaToday at 5:25 PM
hehe
Although Thranduil allowed much of Mirkwood that he was not already holding to go to others,
(and all of the Lorien elves in south Mirkwood went West after a time and Lorien failed),
his own kingdom throve.
Mirkwood became Eryn Lasgalen, meaning the wood of green leaves.
They even had an expansion, when Thranduil's son built a colony in Ithilien's woods.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:26 PM
Return of the Kingdom.
VardaToday at 5:26 PM
There you go!
We keep coming up with new titles. : )
That one kind of works for Aragorn too.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:27 PM
Ah, yes. For Arnor at least.
VardaToday at 5:27 PM
How about the Hobbits? We talked about most of the others.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:28 PM
All 4 hobbits did rise to power. The biggest authority would be the... eck, can't come up with the title
VardaToday at 5:28 PM
Thain?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:28 PM
Thank you! I thought Thrain, and then no, that's a dwarf...
VardaToday at 5:29 PM
Return of the Thain!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:29 PM
then there were the master of Buckland, and the mayor of the Shire
there you go!
Return of the Mayor!
VardaToday at 5:29 PM
More than one Mayor too. Frodo and Sam were both mayor.
yay! What a great title. : )
The hobbits had their thain, Peregrine, over a hobbit land recognized by the new High King.
They prospered in the new peace and with the great alliances.
So that pretty much takes care of most of the kings I can think of for that last book. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:30 PM
Hmm...

https://www.kongregate.com/games/RawEgg/dumo for the third game! Short puzzle platformer, 20 levels wherein you have to switch between 2 characters in different rooms to collect all the gems. Use switches and keys from one room to open up barriers in the other, and the other way around.

    DUMO
Dumo is a puzzle platform game where you need to switch characters in order to pick up all the gems.
Not too hard, mostly figuring out which switch unlocks which barrier and then seeing which order you need to step on stuff or place blocks

Blizzard gaming:
Heroes of the Storm:
From 397 to level 400! Nice milestone, and upgrades my portrait frame from purple to red
Got Auriel and Sonya to level 5, and Sergeant Hammer to 14.
Event has been standing on "less than 1 day" for over a week now, and I'm still completing quests for it and getting loot chests. So I guess the timer's not functioning correctly. Regardless, it could be over any day.
Brawl went less well, I'm pretty bad at Jaina still
Hearthstone:
Indeed, expansion and new class arrived! Starting at level 20, I've been working on leveling the demon hunter most of all, and got him to... 21! Well, first match, which was a win because the starter deck you get is actually pretty good, got me to 21, and the other matches through 21. So 22 is close
Brawl this is one where the legendary power from kael'thas is always present: every third spell you cast in a turn is free.
Rather more strategic than I like, but got pretty far with a mage deck with a ton of cheap spells and some very expensive ones. Can get some early burst down more easily that way.
WoW:
Raiding is going quite well! After defeating bosses 8 and 9 on heroic last week, we went for Ilgynoth as the hardest of the 3 final bosses of each side wing.
Took us a bit, but we got it eventually, and then steamed on to clear Carapace of N'Zoth in 2 tries. Nothing much new there, but everything hits harder of course.
So that's 11 bosses down out of 12. We've since then spent some time on N'Zoth himself, the final boss, but that's tricky. Not much margin for error, and a lot of dps needed in all phases or you just get overwhelmed. Or the sub-boss enrages, which is a quick loss as well.
Overall not much more complicated than on normal, though, so we're sure to get it soon, and then we can farm stuff for the rest of the expansion
Could leave the emissaries again this week, since the weeklies is timewalks, and have been doing some of those instead. We've also made plans with a group to spend each monday evening doing Horrific Visions, working our way up to 5 masks, since I'm a bit too squishy in cat - and too slow in bear - to make that on my own at this point. But together it should be quite interesting. I've got over a dozen runs saved up, as well.
Finished the faction assault achievement, by completing the Nazmir assault. Fun one, where the final objective has you torpeding horde ships with a submarine.
Though it took me a while to find the ships all the way in the northwest corner... at first I was targetting some ships that didn't seem to do anything until I figured out those were our own
One new pet, from the Gnomeregan pet dungeon! Had enough gizmos collected to buy the Leper Rat.
VardaToday at 7:15 PM
yay?
Shouldn't they pay you?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:15 PM
Despite its name, it seems to be intact! But it is undead type, so there's that.
Just looks a bit.. green in places.
3 more gnomeregan pet dungeons to go until I can buy the last pet from there as well!
For other projects, I went through the unlock quest for the Kul Tiran allied race, the result of which you've seen  I also bought Calimbar that Champion's Treadblade mount for 100k, so together with the mount you actually get for unlocking them, the Kul Tiran Charger, that's 2 new mounts this week!
After that I started the 8.1.5 war campaign, wrapping up the aftermath of Lady Ashvane's escape, and joining Jaina and Baine Bloodhoof for the Proudmoore reunion with Jaina's lost brother. I really like the cutscene!
Excellent writing.
The next part is dropping in on a horde meeting in Stormsong Valley, but that'll have to wait a while; for now I'm trying to catch up a bit on Wowhead since all the datamining set me back about 7 pages
And that's it for Blizzard gaming!

In Total Annihilation
I've gotten to level 24, the last defensive mission of the Core campaign, being surrounded and damaged on a plateau. But it appears to be less difficult than the previous one, which had me restart several times because of powerful attackwaves and at one point a long distance cannon that started tearing my base apart.
On the winning try I upgraded my own defensive structures just a bit and kept a fleet of gunships ready to snipe the long distance cannon with a fast aerial strike. Which worked!
But I'm pretty secure in level 24 now, unless they send everything at me at once, but it all seems to come in small waves. And then only one level awaits to complete the campaign
Oh, and my latest Warcraft book arrived, the class manga Mage. Not counting any books still to be released, my collection is now almost complete!
And that's my report for the week!
VardaToday at 7:31 PM
Thank you, Phar : )
Grats on the book.
Total Annihilation fun?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:32 PM
Thanks
Yep!
A bit more difficult now, but as long as I can get my gun-planes (rapiers) going I can usually tear through the enemy base
Rather more scared of the expansion campaigns, though. Lot more complicated units and I think there's a heavy focus on naval combat, especially in the early levels.
Might have to make a bit more use of walkthroughs/strategy guides.
But that's fine, it's why they exist!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:45 PM

And oh, yes, Game of Thrones
game is going fine  Just got my main building to the maximum level of 25, and with most of the other buildings at 24, it's time to max them out too, though it takes like a week per building now. But at 25 they all have special bonuses which are quite welcome!

Heya all.
Or what's left over everyone :}
Happy Easter :}
WoW:
Since I finished my 5 classes, I've been PvP farming to try and get my Shreds of Insanity. Up to 122/200. I'm still sane though :} Got Wrynn's Vanguard to exalted, so now I just need the Marks of Honor to get the mount, and I'm now Honor Level 55. I'll more than likely get 200 Shreds of Insanity before I hit Honor Level 80 :}
VardaToday at 8:29 PM
Aiya Eonwe!

Eonwe ValarToday at 8:38 PM
I find it easier in Ashran to farm for Shreds of Insanity, even though we lose alot. People are more willing to stick together so we're more likely to get at least a few of the enemy, heh.
Plus it gives me a chance to try and get the Bloody Coins for the MoP PvP mount. I'm a ways away from that though, so I may end up with Honor Level 80 before I get the 500 coins needed, heh.
VardaToday at 9:08 PM
Guess I should assume that Eonwe, Gorlim, and Ioreth are all on different WoW servers
Eonwe ValarToday at 9:11 PM
I'm on Lothar, of course :} Aye, Gorlim and Ioreth are on different server(s).

Just one more thing I'd like to mention on the topic of the Return of the King. The final line in the book. Sam comes home to his comfortable hobbit hole with his wife and children:
He drew a deep breath. "Well, I'm back," he said.
Endquote.
Oh, when he says it, he's sitting in a chair.
