Before-meeting
(times are in Central from Varda's Discord, so add one hour for Eastern. Example: 4pm Central in the transcript is 5pm Eastern)

Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 3:50 PM
Aiya! Almost didn't make it, had a little weekend vacation, got home a few hours later than expected. But here I am
VardaYesterday at 3:52 PM
Welcome home. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 3:52 PM
Thanks!
ElrondYesterday at 3:55 PM
Least it was enjoyable, our fridge busted and we ended up having to buy another one.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 3:56 PM
Ouch.
ElrondYesterday at 3:56 PM
Yep.
VardaYesterday at 3:57 PM
Glad you were able to get one.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 3:57 PM
Is there a shortage on fridges?
ElrondYesterday at 3:58 PM
The shire was out, so we went to Lowes
VardaYesterday at 3:58 PM
Shire out of ice blocks at the ice house? Egad!
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 3:59 PM
...The Shire?
VardaYesterday at 4:01 PM
Pardon! "The" Shire. Oh the shame.
ArienVYesterday at 4:04 PM
Aiya all
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:04 PM
Aiya!~
ArienVYesterday at 4:04 PM
The Shire running out of ice cream for the strawberries :O?
VardaYesterday at 4:04 PM
Noooooo
Elrond saved us. Again.
ArienVYesterday at 4:05 PM
Thats a catastrophy ...
VardaYesterday at 4:05 PM
We could hurriedly roll the strawberries in sugar for preservation.  chomp chomp Well, they didn't last.
ArienVYesterday at 4:06 PM
i can imagine
ElrondYesterday at 4:07 PM
Well I do have plenty of chickens, I could hook you up with all the eggs you want.
VardaYesterday at 4:08 PM
Perfect. They don't have to be refrigerated.
It's that time.

And thank you to Sauron and Fangorn especially for an amazing Mother's Day. : )
Any other gaming news or other business?

Eve Online:
Elrond, go for it.
ElrondYesterday at 4:21 PM
Nothing much in the Eve world, other than the 16th anniversary continues. You can login every day get a reward, and each day a different ship skin goes on sale for 16 plex. This event runs thru the 20th of this month.
VardaYesterday at 4:22 PM
Ahh nice.
Any other business, suggestions, comments, etc?

Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:26 PM
Met Fladrif in Hearthstone!
VardaYesterday at 4:26 PM
Hi to the Ent!
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:26 PM
Nothing in particular, though I did find the time to beat Kirby Triple Deluxe recently. Still working on Planet Robobot and Extra Epic Yarn.
VardaYesterday at 4:26 PM
Gimli, Sauron, and I still play tabletop games together. : )
Nice, Eonwe!
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:28 PM
Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3:Razor's Edge recently both made it to the XBox One Backwards compatability list, so fans of crazy hard stuff have 2 "new" games to punish themselves with, lol.
VardaYesterday at 4:31 PM
Yay?
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:31 PM
Well, I mostly enjoyed the games back in the day, but neither are quite as good as the first in my opinion.
Though I do think they're both solid games, just a pain in some spots. But nostalgia makes me think about playing them again, lol.
I still need to finish 2 with the Vigoorian Flail to have completed all the Weapon Master achievements.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:35 PM
There's a goal for you already!
VardaYesterday at 4:36 PM
Somehow you and arms mastery just go well together, Eonwe. : )
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:36 PM
I wish I could just copy my save for 3 from my Xbox 360 rather than transfer it completely, because I'd like to carry on from where I left off but still have my original as a backup.
:}
VardaYesterday at 4:37 PM
Arien mentioned a Middle-earth tabletop game that came out:

Pardon the excessively long name. Fortunately we can just click on it.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:39 PM
Is that whole link really the link?
VardaYesterday at 4:39 PM
Try clicking the name underr Wayland Games
ArienVYesterday at 4:39 PM
yes indeed
i just tried it
VardaYesterday at 4:39 PM
It's the link from being on the page.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:40 PM
Seems like the source of the link is displayed in the link. Some email
ArienVYesterday at 4:40 PM
yeah i copied the webadress
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:40 PM
I meant more that it seems more like a google-link or an e-mail link that throws alot of stuff that isn't necessarily needed solely for getting to the page.
ArienVYesterday at 4:41 PM
its not .. though it was sent as email to me that advertised it ..
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:42 PM

Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:43 PM
I suspect you can cut everything from the questionmark onwards and it'll still work.
VardaYesterday at 4:43 PM
Trying to come up with a better link now.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:43 PM
Right, which is what Eonwe did
The cutting, that is.
VardaYesterday at 4:43 PM
Yay! Thanks, Eonwe.  : )
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:44 PM

This week, we tackle the mystery of J.R.R. Tolkien's invented languages.
Elves, Orcs, Ents, Hobbits -- each had their own specific language, complete with grammar.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:48 PM
Everyone needs a hobby?
VardaYesterday at 4:49 PM
That's some hobby! Then inventing the huge story to explain his invented languages? We should all be so industrious!

Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:49 PM
App... why do boardgames come with apps now? Not everyone has a smartphone!
VardaYesterday at 4:49 PM
I guess to handle the people who do and get some more money?

Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:50 PM
If he'd lived further into the computer age, I'm curious what Tolkien would've thought of programming languages from a philological perspective...
VardaYesterday at 4:51 PM
He might've become a fantastic programmer. /duck
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:51 PM
hehehe
Then he could've made his own MMO! :}
Hmm, Looks like Chief Miles Edward O'Brien is in the Tolkien movie. Enough to get Star Trek fans in there? :}
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:54 PM
Ooh, I remember him. He was in Con Air too, right?
VardaYesterday at 4:54 PM
I didn't know we were separate groups, hah.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:55 PM
Not Sure, Phar. I never sat down and watched Con Air all the way through, so only remember it in pieces.
I'm, sure there's plenty of overlap between the two groups, Varda. :}
VardaYesterday at 4:56 PM

    Middle Earth.. the final frontier.

In case there are any so dead as to not know:
Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before!
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:59 PM
Yeah, I messed up the order a bit
Been a while!
VardaYesterday at 4:59 PM
That was fun. : )
Hey, the shows change it up too. So you can if you like.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 4:59 PM
The original was only a 5-year mission. Gotta go home for shore leave at some point :}
VardaYesterday at 5:01 PM
Then start a new one!
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:01 PM
Aye :}
VardaYesterday at 5:01 PM
True - the above was voiced by Picard.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:02 PM
Nice overlap between Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, between the two franchises
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:02 PM
The cleanups on blu-ray do look really nice for the Original Series. I missed my shot at getting a good deal on TNG so don't know about those, but I do hope they come out with DSP cleaned up at some point.
*Ds9
VardaYesterday at 5:02 PM
I'd like that.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:03 PM
I read once there's serious hurdles to doing that, but if they manage to get the stars to align for that, it'd be great.
VardaYesterday at 5:03 PM
Sure wish they'd clean up the original of Star Wars, now that Disney has that series. (Can I mention Star Wars while ST is under discussion? I'm into overlap.)
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:03 PM
Looks like the stars... need to do some trekking.
VardaYesterday at 5:04 PM
Obstacles to any endeavor. Takes heroes to do the effort!
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:04 PM
I'm wary of them going into anything on the original three. Last time that happened we got Hayden Christiansen in a Galaxy Far Far away 30 years too soon.
VardaYesterday at 5:05 PM
I just want it cleaned up, not changed pretty please?
Good description, Eonwe.
(Han shot first version.)
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:05 PM
Agreed. I wouldn't mind a cleanup to make everything crisper, but I don't want a remake, a reboot, or a re-edit.
VardaYesterday at 5:06 PM
Right!!
The original is being left to rot instead of lovingly tended. The second version of it messed up a lot of the good things, sadly.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:06 PM
"Remastered" :wink:
No, wait, the term was...
"reforged"
VardaYesterday at 5:07 PM
hah! There you go.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:07 PM
There are some movies that just do not need to be remade. Make new movies in that world if you must and if you can.
VardaYesterday at 5:07 PM
Agreed. And make them go forward, not in the past.
People have trouble keeping their fingers off things, even the authors.
JRRT kept tinkering with his works. They were fine for us already. Just go onwards.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:09 PM
That said, I know there are going to be some movies that will be remade eventually, but there should be a healthy period between the original and the new.
VardaYesterday at 5:09 PM
Not sure what that period would be. Some of us are long-lived.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:09 PM
Yeah, that's the tough part.
VardaYesterday at 5:10 PM
Just make new, original stuff.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:10 PM
I don't mind remakes in themselves, but it's when they actively tamper with the old ones... edits, "improvements"...
VardaYesterday at 5:10 PM
There's plenty out there in the book world that's new. They could be used.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:10 PM
Just making a new one based on it is fine.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:13 PM
People making "reboots" need to be smart enough to not insult and attack fans of the originals. Understand you may not win the entire fanbase, but if your movie is any good, you'll win over enough and get new supporters too. Or to put another way: you should be secure enough in the quality of your own product to let it stand on its own.
VardaYesterday at 5:13 PM
Aye to that.
The new Star Trek movies seemed to have that idea in mind. Sorry they stopped making them for now.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:16 PM
From what I've heard about the new movies' planning/production/reasoning, it seems like that's an interesting story in and of itself, but I haven't dug too deep on it.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:17 PM
I'm sure one of the actors dying didn't help either.
VardaYesterday at 5:17 PM
True. They could have handled losing one, but more than that of the mains gets tough.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:19 PM
Remind me which one died for the new movies?
VardaYesterday at 5:19 PM
Scotty
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:19 PM
I think it was Chekov, actually.
VardaYesterday at 5:20 PM
argh, yes, you're right
Sorry, I should call the meeting now, as a lot is going on this side of the screen too.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:20 PM
Oh yeah, he did. That's a shame.
VardaYesterday at 5:20 PM
Agreed.
We have reached the hour, so I'm moving the meeting to free chat, since we're doing that anyway, hehe.
gavel stealths out

After-meeting!
Free chat.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:21 PM
Thought he wasn't too bad as a young Kyle Reese in Terminator Salvation. Which is another franchise that courts the reboot/remake closely.
VardaYesterday at 5:22 PM
That's two reboots that death injured.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:24 PM
I haven't seen Genesys yet myself, but what I hear about it doesn't give me much hope of it being a good movie.
To turn this back to the Tolkien movie, I am kind of interested in seeing it, but don't know if I'll be able to. Don't know if anyone else would have a chance of finding it interesting, hehe.
VardaYesterday at 5:26 PM
I expect it will hit the TV or Netflix before long.
Maybe Dracxil?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:26 PM
TV would be nice. I'm sure I'll record it
VardaYesterday at 5:27 PM
Aye to that!
Maybe even go solo? It's cheaper anyway.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:29 PM
Eh, don't like to go solo to the movies, so I don't know.
VardaYesterday at 5:29 PM
Me either. More fun together.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:29 PM
Part of the fun is going with others.
Aye.
VardaYesterday at 5:30 PM
Fun commenting on it afterwards together. Shared fun.
Eonwe ValarYesterday at 5:30 PM
Aye.

ArienVYesterday at 5:32 PM

Right, been busy catching up on stuff, but now time for personal gaming report, if I can find any games I've done after several days away

Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 8:29 PM
Flashgaming:
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/link_it_up is the first one! A puzzle platformer where you create platforms between certain linked spots so you can get to the end of each level without dying. Unlimited lives and short levels, keep trying until you find a way!
    Link It Up - OneMoreLevel.com

http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/idle_idols is the second game, a bit of an idle game but you need to pay attention not to run out of followers or get too many of them for too long.
    Idle Idols - OneMoreLevel.com
so more of a clicker and time management game
Click the statue to get cultists, spend cultists to buy buildings for a higher population cap. Buildings also produce cultists automatically, so you need to watch your production, and they also take up space on the map; you can remove trees, but spend more cultists to do so.
It starts out slow, with a lot of clicking (or waiting) required, but you need to frantically spend, sell, and build by the end to not run out of space for your followers.
Anyway, long explanation, but really, it is quite simple when you see it

GorlimYesterday at 8:34 PM
Woof!
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 8:34 PM
Aiya!

Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 9:54 PM
https://www.kongregate.com/games/matakukos/legend-of-pandora is the third game, a kind of Zelda-like rpg, where you fight enemies, level up, spend skillpoints, all that stuff. But if you die, you need to reload, and I've not yet found any easy places or ways to heal. So getting through it might get tricky, and there are only specific savepoints.
    Kongregate
    Legend of Pandora
Save the world in this retro-fashioned Zelda-like adventure game with tons of enemies, weapons, quests, level up system, and a huge world to explore!
So good luck!

Blizzard gaming:
Heroes of the Storm:
Not much to tell. Did some matches, but got no new levels, and had no time for the brawl. Might do it in a couple of days instead, but as another single-lane I'm not too bothered. Still level 343.
Hearthstone:
First two classes gotten to 58. Other 7 are close. Being 58, the golden card rewards for 59 and 60 are now visible, which means the end is finally in sight
Almost done with the complete golden basic collection!
Including a few I still regularly use, so that'll be nice.
Brawl is a new one based on the expansion, where you choose one of 9 henchmen. Not one of each class; some are not represented, while some have 4 options. In the game itself, you then have an option to support one of 4 of the main villains, and get a unique power as a result. You can get some weird but powerful combinations that way!
Came with a special quest to complete 3 brawls, not even wins necessary, but I won 2 out of 3 anyway.
WoW:
Getting the older bosses in heroic Dazar'alor on farm is getting easier, but no luck with the 8th boss, Stormwall Blockade. Several times getting to phase 2, but dps is rather tight there, and you need to time the addspawns well while balancing it with stacking damage. It's rather interesting.
For older raids, we went back to Dragon Soul for my friend to get his last drake for the achievement as well as adding the celestial dragon mount, as mentioned last week. No luck on either of the two, and droprates remain low, so I'll probably not need to mention it in the future unless we get something
Weekly is battlegrounds, of which I crammed 4 into wednesday because I wouldn't have time in the weekend. It was a rather busy evening! Not had time for expeditions and mythics though. Will do expeditions tomorrow, mythics might need to be skipped this week.
Did more world quests, got more stuff! Almost got up to the 250 service medals I thought I needed for the toy, but my math was off, or I just looked at it wrongly. My total needed still was correct, but it turned out the toy was only 125. So I got the toy, a tiny Glaive Tosser along the lines of the racers and cannons etc we'd get for Winter Veil, but simply throwing glaives  And turned out to have enough medals for the pet as well, a little raptor called Trecker.
And finally, I completed the azerite power grind. Level 50 on the necklace, the current cap until 8.2 comes out in a month or two. So I have no more use for that, which means a number of rewards are now useless. Oh well!
And thats'my report for the week, Namarie!
VardaYesterday at 10:14 PM
Namarie and thanks!
