ArienVYesterday at 4:08 PM
no  iam in World of Warcraft all right but i did the lfr just a bit ago
VardaYesterday at 4:08 PM
How was the lfr?
Battle of Dazar'alor LFR Wing 1 and Mythic
ArienVYesterday at 4:09 PM
was fairly all right as far as lfr goes   the raid itself starts with a cinematic of the alliance fleet destroying the Zandari one and then invading Dazar Alor
It
is fighting through to the bosses basically as you climb  up
I didn 't find them too hard on lfr . had to watch at first as the tactics weren#t known but you can figure them out soon enough
it is a lot aoe to avoid and not step into stuff
and interrupting of course , alts , changing targets , that kind of thing
err adds not alts
I enjoyed that part especially the second boss .. the overgrown distraction as Nathanos Blightcaller sais
so far my review there  lots of potential traps for the usual lfr trouble but yeah i lkied them
VardaYesterday at 4:14 PM
Cool, thanks!

Skirmish Event [LotRO]
February 7th brings a new event: ‘Ill Omens’ to Skirmishes throughout the game! Evil stirs in Minas Morgul, and harbingers of the Dead City spread across Middle-earth!
This time-limited event adds additional enemies and rewards to all Skirmishes in Lord of the Rings Online through March 11th.
By completing a specific set of themed Skirmishes each day while the ‘Ill Omens’ event is active, you’ll earn a special currency you can exchange for new gear and cosmetic rewards.
As for the most dedicated Skirmishers of Middle-earth, players who complete thirty of these quests will earn a powerful level-cap-statted reward.

Yep, second and third bosses are reversed for the factions.
ArienVYesterday at 4:23 PM
ah right who do you fight against as the commanding officers of the defense?
i wonder ^^  because i guess you fight either Zandalari bosses or Horde instead of alliance hehe
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:24 PM
A zandalari prelate / paladin with adds, then a Mag'har monk teamed up with a blood elf mage, and then the same gorilla but resurrected by Bwonsamdi to fight the alliance.

Tolkien!
We have a Tolkien Moment and a chat topic available. Does anyone here have a question, topic, or Moment they'd like to bring up also?

Tolkien Moment:
Return of the King "Many Partings":
background to the quote:
This is on the ride taking people back home, near the Gap of Rohan not far from where Pippin first looked into the Stone of Orthanc (Palantir), Aragorn takes his leave to return to Gondor as the others continue on.
Quote:
"With that they parted, and it was then the time of sunset; and when after a while they turned and looked back, they saw the King of the West sitting upon his horse with his knights about him; and the falling Sun shone upon them and made all their harness to gleam like red gold, and the white mantle of Aragorn was turned to a flame. Then Aragorn took the green stone and held it up, and there came a green fire from his hand."
Endquote
I like the imagery, movement, lights. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:42 PM
Aragorn making a grand gesture as a farewell?
VardaYesterday at 4:43 PM
Quite possibly. : )

For a discussion topic, this one came up at the lunch table today:
After the destruction of the One Ring, what happened to the various races of Middle-earth?
As races, for example:
    Hobbits:
        Shire
        Bree and other
    Elves:
Those with and without the Elven Rings.
    Dwarves
    Men:
        Gondor
        Rohan
        Ithilien
Those under Saruman and/or Sauron previously.

ArienVYesterday at 4:44 PM
reminds a bit of Galadriel holding up her ring in farewll to  Frodo
VardaYesterday at 4:44 PM
Ahh, nice thought.

Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:45 PM
Let's see... thrived in isolation; left; vanished; apparently vanished too; thrived; thrived; thrived; scattered and possibly assimilated
did I miss anyone?
ArienVYesterday at 4:45 PM
Elves left to the Haven , but some lingered in Ithilien for a while before they did so ..
VardaYesterday at 4:46 PM
The wood elves remained and did well for a long time, in Mirkwood. Another colony of them started up by Legolas remained in Ithilien.
Aragorn set up a decree that Men could not enter the Shire.
ArienVYesterday at 4:48 PM
ah and thats why you see them now and again . especially in clear nights in wooded areas
VardaYesterday at 4:48 PM
Right : )
JRRT had to leave a reason for some elves to have remained for the later folklore and myths that we hear.
ArienVYesterday at 4:49 PM
I like that
VardaYesterday at 4:50 PM
Me too.
Dwarves were few and hard to see underground, tended to be isolationist anyway. So we only hear of them rarely, as knocking in the mines in warning of cave-ins etc in more current folklore.
Hobbits were always hard to see, very quiet. A few may yet be around, hidden.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:51 PM
Taking care of Snowwhite, etc...
And yes, hobbits might be out there
VardaYesterday at 4:52 PM
There you go, hehe
Humans just after the destruction of the Ring became the dominant type. Those of Rohan united with those of Gondor and Anor to handle the mess left behind of orc bandits, humans that didn't join in but still fought. The Blue Wizards were still operating, but who knows in what way?
Cults of the Blue Wizards  are known to have occurred, but could have gone awry.
Some of those loyal to Saruman before probably had their own ideas after he was gone.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:54 PM
Or they continued disrupting the peoples of the East, to make sure they never recovered.
VardaYesterday at 4:55 PM
Aragorn wanted to bring the other humans together too, bring peace and prosperity all over. One can hope he had some measure of success.
Eldarion, his son, would most likely have carried on Aragorn's vision.
All those daughters of Aragorn probably married off to other kingdoms to help bring unity and peace.
Or found cute rangers...
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:56 PM
Or elves in Ithilien.
VardaYesterday at 4:56 PM
Any other thoughts as we approach the hour?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:56 PM
Never know!
VardaYesterday at 4:56 PM
Oh the potential fanfic.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:56 PM
Well, one more thing... you talking about hobbits made me  think of something.
VardaYesterday at 4:57 PM
Then we did our job!
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:57 PM
There's a theme park here in the Netherlands that invented its own little fantasy race that supposedly settled down there, and they do remind me of hobbits so much, so maybe that's what happened to them!
Just google the word "laaf"
VardaYesterday at 4:57 PM
ah hah!
ArienVYesterday at 4:57 PM
Which theme park is that?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:58 PM
The Efteling
VardaYesterday at 4:59 PM
add Netherlands to that search
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 4:59 PM
Right, sure. Not sure how much of my search results gives them just with the word "laaf" because Dutch is the standard language
https://www.efteling.com/en/park/attractions/volk-van-laaf is a piece in English, anywa
    'Volk van Laaf' - Efteling
Meet the mischievous folk in their village. You can also take a ride on a monarail in this attraction.
y
VardaYesterday at 5:00 PM
Laaf for leaf or laugh?
Thank you
It looks charming. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:01 PM
Doesn't it look like they could be remnants of hobbits?
VardaYesterday at 5:02 PM
Possibly. Or even dwarves or some like grinches. : )
Makes me want to take the grandkids there. : )
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 5:05 PM
It's probably the most famous theme park in the Netherlands, completely themed for fantasy and fairy tales.
If you're ever in this country, it'll be worth a visit!
VardaYesterday at 5:06 PM
I'll have to pass that on to Eowyn and Faramir, the world travelers in the family. : )

the tiny hammer runs alongside a tall and a short hammer
the tiny hammer jumps hammerhead first onto the hammerpad
splash!
the hammerpad had a pool rigged at the behest of the parent hammers
ArienVYesterday at 5:09 PM
hehe , my friend in WoW recommends it as well from my guild

Personal gaming report!
Let's find some flashgames from this week.
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 6:40 PM
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/beat_blast is the first game! A sort of rhythmic game, where your attack abilities pulse on rhythm, shown in a corner. You have 4 different types of abilities and place "notes" in the grid of ability slots to have more attacks go off on the rhythm.
    Beat Blast - OneMoreLevel.com
With you take down enemies (squares) that approach you, gather more notes from them, and find the home-point.
With all 4 combined, you get a laser weapon, so with full upgrades it's a permanent laser. But that slows down the game in my case, and is a bit less challenging, so I keep it with 3
There doesn't seem to be an end so far... I've gone quite a bit, cleared a lot of waves of enemies, found a lot of "homes"... so maybe it's just about getting a high score.
Still, should entertain for a bit.
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/dance_of_fire_an_ice is the second one; seems familiar to me, so might have linked it from another site in the past. An actual rhythmic game where you move through levels, timing your jump from square to square with the music to not miss and fail the level.
Dance of Fire an Ice - OneMoreLevel.com
Play along some nice music, make it through all the levels, no room for error, so good luck
I remember this game being a lot harder... maybe I've gotten better at it?
Ar-Pharazon-VYesterday at 7:04 PM
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/fling is the third game! Throw your grappling hook at white surfaces, haul yourself up, swing around, get to the goal.. and don't hit the spiky walls
    Fling - OneMoreLevel.com
Quite difficult, unless you're better at it than I am, which is likely.

Blizzard gaming:
Diablo 3:
Level 38 now, and partway through act 3. One of the grindy achievements complete already, and the others progressing nicely. Getting a nice build together.
Starcraft II:
War chest phase 2 complete! Gotta wait about 2 weeks for phase 3 to arrive. Gives me a bit more time for other stuff
Heroes of the Storm:
level 331 now, 3 levels gained. Two of them were through the brawl, which was the lunar festival rocket race, a lot of fun to race around a track for 7 laps, and throw around bombs and missiles to delay your opponents
Heroes were lunar-themed random heroes, and through that I got Samuro and Illidan to level 2.
Got a legendary mount out of the loot chests for those levels, a plushy unicorn, part of the gameboard theme. Looks pretty nice!
Hearthstone:
More leveling! Hunter as third class leveled, some others right on the edge. Also got another legendary from the Rumble, Princess Talanji! A powerful, but highly specialized Priest champion, but one that should be familiar to Arien and other WoWers, especially those playing Horde
Brawl was the Void Singularity, whereby all your minions are killed and fused into a single void minion at the end of your turn. A good way to play that is with minions that summon other minions as a deathrattle, really ramping up the void minions for serious damage.
WoW:
Raid going well! We got the 6th boss down on normal, Rastakhan, which gave one of our raid a recipe to make a new pet, the Enchanted Tiki Mask... which he proceeded to make in great numbers right there and share them with the rest of us! Must've come prepared with the mats
In the new reset we poked heroic difficulty a bit, got the first boss down, but we're a bit undergeared for the second fight. So we went back to normal, and got the first 5 bosses down quickly tonight. We're already getting better at this
Bit more loot, including a new cloak that's part of a 2-piece set, and a thunder lizard pet, for me. So yay!
Got exalted with the Tortollans, which is the 6th out of 6 factions in BfA so far, so I'm at the current maximum of 103 exalted now. Got a new turtle pet out of it called Cou'pa, and another new pet from the Proudmoore Admiralty paragon rewards, an albatross.
And even more pets! Got 2 more pets from the Expeditions this week, a scarab and a small musk ox. That one is very cute!
And makes me glad the computer does not express smell.
Weekly was battlegrounds! Did a couple of random ones, and later joined up with a rated battleground group, where I finished the weekly quest, and got enough conquest to fill the weekly bar, as well as getting my first bit of rating for the season. The conquest gave me a choice of 2 weapons, but the appearances of both. That's an improvement over last season at least, and should make it easier to complete the set.
World quests done too, including more pet battle quests! Haven't had to spend pet charms on leveling stones in a while, I hope I can really start saving up for the vendor pets now  Also got 100% on the dragon achievement, and the required 15 to complete humanoid. It is slowing down now, with several pet battles showing up that I don't need to do anymore. But with only 3 achievements to go, it won't be long now.
And finally, lunar festival! Got all 84 elders visited with my druid, who bought the new hearthstone (very nice!) as well as the blue and green dragon heads. Will leave the bodies and tails to my demon hunter, who's started visiting the elders too, but she can stop at 70, so I don't need to go into any instances with her.
And that's my report for the week!

ElladanYesterday at 8:07 PM
Aiya!
Was out all day. How is everyone?
