A star shines upon the hour of our meeting
lets get through the business part fairly quick so we can get a bit to Tolkien
Membership:
We are here
Varda is at Easter family duties  and i am guessing Eolnwe as well or at work
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:41 PM
Fladrif is.. not online, but was last online 2 days ago so there's that.
I don't really do Easter so I'm here
ArienVToday at 4:41 PM
yes i noticed him on battlenet
else i have seen Helm on and off on wow , i have seen Elrond and Celebrian on Eve online on Monday and Tuesday
and Dis and Varda in Lotro
FalcoToday at 4:47 PM
Aiya!
ArienVToday at 4:47 PM
and Phari , of course on WoW and aiya Falco
we actually just started since Phari was busy otherwise
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:47 PM
Aiya!
ArienVToday at 4:47 PM
so we are still at membership news
do you have an update to your situation in Lotro?
oh i also saw Nar on Landy this week
FalcoToday at 4:50 PM
No updates yet.  I have talked to the user who bought my account from a Russian Hacker and sent that info along to Support.   Support so far is the worse I have ever dealt with.   They don’t respond at all and the only way to get updates is via support site or email which they don’t  respond to.
ArienVToday at 4:54 PM
That is really not acceptable at all
isnt there a way we could respond to them in some way to make a move or appology towards you and a reimbursement of subscription fees ?
FalcoToday at 4:55 PM
I’m a life time member so there is no cost associated to my account.
ArienVToday at 4:57 PM
hmm .. can you cancel a lifetime membership?
just out of interest
FalcoToday at 4:57 PM
You can by mail
Snail mail!  Lol
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 4:57 PM
Seems drastic, though.
I mean, maybe drastic measures are needed, but if there's the chance of getting your account back...
ArienVToday at 4:58 PM
it does and in the end it is the player that would  get punished instead of the company
FalcoToday at 4:59 PM
True.   Basically I have the account back thanks to the user who bought it.   But haven’t been able to get it unlocked and returned to previous state due to support not responding.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:00 PM
How did the buyer find you, anyway?
FalcoToday at 5:00 PM
The screen shot the reseller sent him had my information listed
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:00 PM
..useful
ArienVToday at 5:02 PM
hmmm . i wonder how i would solve that .. i think either ask standing stone games to make your FTP account lifetime at no cost for you in replacement
or ask the buyer to hand you your account back
FalcoToday at 5:02 PM
The buyer did give me it back buys it’s blocked
ArienVToday at 5:02 PM
but you still would have the hassle with ssg to meke it active again
FalcoToday at 5:02 PM
Yep
ArienVToday at 5:03 PM
Ah right .. have you tjurned to the manage directly yet?
or tried phoning them?
FalcoToday at 5:04 PM
No phone number
Logging in isn’t possible
ArienVToday at 5:04 PM
do you want me to try and find out?
FalcoToday at 5:05 PM
I would welcome any help
ArienVToday at 5:07 PM
i ll try okay but lets carry on with the business meeting
FalcoToday at 5:07 PM

Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:45 PM
Well, for WoW
I'll mention that the PTR for patch 8.2 has gone up, with lots of datamining, including enough models of a "new" race which might become an allied race to be added to the dressing room on the wowhead site...
In case it does make it as an allied race, I already took the liberty of creating my future planned arcane mage of the race  Will link it for those curious at the end of the meeting, for those who want to know.
ArienVToday at 5:50 PM
ah yes there is a bit discussion going on for that datamining thisgs
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:50 PM
There's also lots of other interesting goodies from the ptr, btw, and I'm looking forward to the patch.
Mechagon looks amazing.
ArienVToday at 5:50 PM
sounds quite interesting :), thanks phari

Tolkien:
then we can go on to Tolkien
and i have the rare honor to say
Menelvagor , the floor is yours
MenelvagorToday at 5:55 PM
Ah.
Well, I have almost finished reading the Silmarillion once again...
And there was one thing that I noticed that was a bit odd.
And that is that at the height of their power the Numenoreans far surpassed all other races residing in Middle Earth at that time.
Including the remnants of the Noldor, both those led by Elrond half Elven, Gil Galad and Celebrimbor, son of Curufin, greatest in skill save for Feänor himself.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 5:59 PM
Sounds about right!
I see nothing wrong with this situation.
MenelvagorToday at 6:00 PM
So great was their power in fact that Sauron, a Maia of immense strength, second only to Morgoth Bauglir, humbled himself before them.
My point is this; it seems that the race of Men might have recieved a greater boon from the Valar than was ever bestowed upon the Eldar.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:01 PM
Well, at that point they had a closer contact with Tol Eressea and hence Valinor than the Noldor back in Middle-earth had. They also didn't have to contend with Sauron in that time, or go in hiding because of him.
To be honest, what remained of the Noldor at that point was a shadow of their glory in Valinor.
MenelvagorToday at 6:03 PM
Well yes, but what they had before the War of Wrath was still way beyond mortal men.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:03 PM
Also, they're men. Men cycle through generations faster, and have been granted a greater freedom to decide their own fate than elves ever did. It might lead to a greater technology and prosperity.
MenelvagorToday at 6:04 PM
I doubt that was the case. Look at the third age. Men of Gondor had about 3.000 years (if I recall correctly) to invent new technology...
And they essentially still used the same tech that was brought with them from the ruin of Numenor.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:04 PM
Hmm, true. But the elves didn't do a lot in that time either
MenelvagorToday at 6:05 PM
They did not.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:05 PM
I'd chalk it up to being in closer contact with the Elves in the west then, during those first 3000 years.
Or maybe Numenor itself was calmer and better suited to prosperity.
MenelvagorToday at 6:05 PM
The first signs of industrialization are actually exhibited by Saruman :stuck_out_tongue:
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:06 PM
Heh, yes, and it wasn't welcomed
MenelvagorToday at 6:06 PM
Or maybe we should not discount the fact that they were 1) Edain. 2) Descended from Olwë Singollo. 3) Turgon. 4) Melian the Maia.
Or at least the line of Kings were.
Also, it was more than 3.000 years.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:07 PM
How would that set them apart from, say, Elrond?
MenelvagorToday at 6:07 PM
Because Eärendil himself would have chosen mortal men if not for Elwing his wife.
Plus, the Elves never did multiply like mortal men did.
Mortality makes you breed more... :stuck_out_tongue:
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:08 PM
That's part of what I meant with cycling through generations faster, yes, but in a different direction I guess
MenelvagorToday at 6:09 PM
Also, they had more than 3.000 years on Numenor.
Elros Tar-Minyatur lived for just about, if not just over, 500 years.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:10 PM
Long was his reign.
MenelvagorToday at 6:10 PM
And good old Arphie was the 23rd and still lived about 300 or so.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:10 PM
ponders thought it was 200-something...
not counting the years in this cave
MenelvagorToday at 6:11 PM
Wasn't Aragorn 200 something?
Of course we're not counting cave time... otherwise you might need to add a couple thousand and counting :stuck_out_tongue:
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:12 PM
Right. 201 for Pharazon...
I think Aragorn might have outlived me.
Well that's disappointing.
Yep, 210 years for Aragorn.
ArienVToday at 6:13 PM
not disappointing dear  logical because Aragorns grandness was different to that of your name giver
and he was closer to the Valar
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:14 PM
Surely not in a physical sense
MenelvagorToday at 6:14 PM
Plus he had the love of his great-great-great x a lot auntie to hold on to for a while longer
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:15 PM
Then again, Pharazon was old, but didn't die from old age. If he hadn't attacked Valinor he might've lived for another decade or two?
MenelvagorToday at 6:15 PM
Maybe.
But in the akkalabeth it is said that Pharzie did feel his end coming.
So while it might be true that he could have clung onto his life like some of his parentage had done... it is by no means sure.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:16 PM
We'll never know, I guess.
But yeah, that did help him make his decision.
MenelvagorToday at 6:16 PM
The only question that remains is what side he will fight on in the Dagor Dagorlad.
ArienVToday at 6:17 PM
Aragorn?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:17 PM
Well, I have grown to like you Valar people over the years. So odds are...
ArienVToday at 6:17 PM
on our side :)?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:18 PM
I'd like to think so!
ArienVToday at 6:18 PM
or 50/50?
MenelvagorToday at 6:18 PM
Aragorn is no longer in this world.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:18 PM
After all, men decide their own fate... no reason we can't switch sides after enough time of reflection and reasoning.
MenelvagorToday at 6:18 PM
Of mortal men only 1 was counted among the Eldar.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:18 PM
Tuor, was it?
MenelvagorToday at 6:18 PM
Aye.
And as far as I am aware, that was because of his son, his father, as well as his love and the love of Idril Celebrindal.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:20 PM
I'm seeing a pattern emerge here.
If you want a life extension, fall in love with an elf.
MenelvagorToday at 6:21 PM
haha
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:21 PM
Worked for Beren too, for a time.
MenelvagorToday at 6:21 PM
Well... that turned out disastrous for the elf in question though.
Or rather, it seemed that way to her kin.
After all, death was a gift by Iluvatar.
Where Beren and Luthien are, none can tell.
Perhaps they're sitting at Iluvatar's feet, but who knows?
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:23 PM
Interesting thought that the elves generally envied men, in a way, for the freedom to leave the world.. and yet are sad because one of their own joined their fate. I suppose the idea of always being able to be reunited with your kin at some point except one, can be rather harsh.
Perhaps the elves were not so sure about the mortal afterlife either.
MenelvagorToday at 6:24 PM
Aye.
They were not.
It is clear by Elrond's fear for Arwen that they do not understand it.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:27 PM
That, too, was partially because of the consequential separation between them.
MenelvagorToday at 6:27 PM
Well, don't forget that Elrond knew perfectly well what happened to Luthien.
He feared her mortal death, not to await her return from Mandos.
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:28 PM
Yes, that's the separation I meant.
Not seeing each other again after Mandos.
ArienVToday at 6:30 PM
Interesting discussion and always inspiring to see you two at it  a rare pleasure indeed
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 6:30 PM
Feel free to join in
ArienVToday at 6:30 PM
but even with the late start time is over now
MenelvagorToday at 6:30 PM

ArienVToday at 6:38 PM
all right .. turns to Yavanne and takes a gavel shaped branch to bank it on the floor but just as i do so the branch turns into a bunny rabbit and hops away

Personal gaming report!
top
Starting with 3 flashgames.
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/nano_war is the first game! A shooting game where you move around the edge of a circle, which is filled with enemies shooting projectiles around. Move around the circle to shoot them and dodge their shots. Levels get harder as you go, but you can also get powerups from them which carry over.
    Nano War - OneMoreLevel.com
Not sure how far you can go, but I do know there's at least one bossfight in them

Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:42 PM
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/swingshot is the second game! Another shooting game, this time  you fire a turret that's swinging back and forth, while waves of zombies come for you. Get coins for killing zombies, use it to upgrade your firepower, firerate, and the slowing down weapon. Good luck!
    SwingShot - OneMoreLevel.com

https://www.kongregate.com/games/TadasGloom/life-in-the-static for the last game! A platformer where you can stop time to make it across levels, and avoid static fields as well as moving enemies. Originally meant to symbolize memory less diseases like alzheimer, but as a simplified game it didn't translate as well as the creator hoped. Still, it's a fun game, if not too difficult, though some tricky timing is necessary in places.
    Kongregate
    Life in the Static
Life in the Static is a simple atmospheric platforming game where you have an ability to stop time. There are no cows in this game unfortunately.

Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 7:57 PM
Blizzard gaming!
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:06 PM
Heroes of the Storm:
From level 340 to 342! Got D.Va to level 3, and ended up fighting as Xul the necromancer for the first time in one of the brawls. It was a long fight though, and he went to level 2 just from one match.
Luckily the other 2 matches were with more familiar heroes
Ar-Pharazon-VToday at 8:15 PM
Hearthstone:
Bit more xp-getting, as well as the easter / noblegarden event. Brawl was choosing a class, and then getting a random deck with various eggs in it, which would explode or do other things. Quite funny!
WoW:
Other than the gnome modelling I presented earlier, I mostly occupied myself with older content from this expansion
Mekkatorque on heroic is still not down yet, but we did poke Crucible of Storms on normal difficulty for a bit. First bossfight down, second giving us some trouble. Still, they're quite interesting fights, using mechanics we've never seen before.
No new pets from the Pandaria raids for me this week, though the friend I go there with did get one. But I only need 3 more, so it's not surprising there'll be empty weeks here and there.
But I did get 3 new pets from expeditions! An octopode fry, a small deer called Littlehoo,f, and a mechanical gorilla pet.
*Littlehoof
Weekly was arena skirmishes, which went pretty well, got all 10 wins as well as the weekly frozen arathi basin brawl win over 2 evenings with not that many losses.
Other than that, just more world quests. Over 300 pet charms now on my way to 500 for the next pet, and quite a few service medals as well, almost up to 100 again. So no new things from those, but progressing to them!
And I think that's my gaming report for the week!
