https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulmonary_embolism
Pulmonary embolism
Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a blockage of an artery in the lungs by a
substance that has moved from elsewhere in the body through the
bloodstream (embolism). Symptoms of a PE may include shortness of
breath, chest pain particularly upon breathing ...

Here's Eonwe's report, given across the week all the way til today.
If we want our favortie game news added in there, be sure to email
Eonwe. He can have it show up for the proper day from nifty programming
he does.

Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:15 PM
Sorry, did you give the report, or do we read the link?

Tolkien:
We may be going to Phar's game after the general chat, if we want to
give it a shot. Sounded hard! That alphabet game is fun, too; sorry to
have missed it last weekend.
Before trying mine, did anyone have a topic or question they wanted to bring up?
ArienV - Yesterday at 4:21 PM
 we tried to find not the most common figuers ^^
which made it a bit more challenging
Varda - Yesterday at 4:22 PM
Tricky!
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:22 PM
Still ended up with a lot of them anyway!
Varda - Yesterday at 4:22 PM
So not the first one coming to mind.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:22 PM
Occasionally t here doesn't come a second
Varda - Yesterday at 4:23 PM
Topic 1:
(I have two, this one may be faster so it's first)
For each of us in alphabetical order: what was one contribution your
character made in the storyline? You can ask for help if stuck or
in a battle.
Aranuir, Arien, Ar-Pharazon, Varda
Aranuir is in a group in LotRO. Anyone want to help him out?
ArienV - Yesterday at 4:26 PM
I dont know who Aranuir was :/
Varda - Yesterday at 4:26 PM
Feel free to look him up
He was a Chieftain of the Dunedain
An early one, the third.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:27 PM
Tolkien Gateway: "As far as records go, Aranuir's rule was uneventful."
Varda - Yesterday at 4:27 PM
So he was not far from the time when his line were considered kings.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:27 PM
Well that was fast.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:27 PM
Uneventful can mean he was an unusually good leader, keeping his people safe and prosperous.
ArienV - Yesterday at 4:28 PM
good
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:28 PM
Very true.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:28 PM
He reigned for 70 years. You know a lot had to have come up in that time.
He must have been handling it skillfully.
Sometimes we can pick up a good bit of info from having little or no info, which seems kind of weird.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:29 PM
Well, it can imply a lot.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:29 PM
Agreed
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:30 PM
Ruling for 70 years... either he got quite old or started quite young. Dunedain, so leaning to the former.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:30 PM
He must have been setting up how the Rangers did things, how to do it in secret.
Aranuir - Yesterday at 4:30 PM
after I chose the name I was like "but he didn't do anything" lol
Varda - Yesterday at 4:31 PM
As Aragorn said, those they protected had no real idea of how much
protection they were receiving from things that the sight of would have
frozen their blood.
hehehehe - just a major Chieftain of the Dunedain, working in the
early days of setting up the system and really getting into it. He must
have been good with keeping them secret.
But aye, when you're good at your job, it may mean no one notices!
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:32 PM
Either that, or he burned down all the records before he died.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:32 PM
All running smoothly.
Then there's that.
Aranuir - Yesterday at 4:32 PM
he might have started the Elf version of the CIA; who knows!
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:32 PM
"I may have been a terrible leader, but that won't be my legacy! Burn it all!"
Varda - Yesterday at 4:32 PM
Kind of, aye. Secret protection from the outside.
hehee
Aranuir - Yesterday at 4:32 PM
lol how targaryan of you
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:33 PM
Hah, yes. Burn em! Burn em all!
Varda - Yesterday at 4:34 PM
Game of Thrones reference there. : )
Arien, you're up!
ArienV - Yesterday at 4:35 PM
okay
Arien was a maia maiden a fire spirit who ended up tending first the
golden Tree in Valinor and eventually ended up steering the Vessel of
the Sun
Varda - Yesterday at 4:37 PM
Pretty major work. The evil beings of Morgoth and Sauron needed to put
up reeks in the air to protect themselves from that powerful light.
I'm only asking for one thing in case anyone feels panicky.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:37 PM
(another "burn them all" moment?)
Varda - Yesterday at 4:37 PM
lol - aye
ArienV - Yesterday at 4:37 PM
looks like it ^^
Varda - Yesterday at 4:38 PM
Ar-Pharazon, you're next.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:38 PM
well now, speaking of mad kings... ehrm
Ar-Pharazon was a quite successful king and warleader who invaded
Mordor, driving back Sauron's forces, taking Sauron hostage to Numenor
and freeing Middle-Earth from his reign for a while.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:39 PM
Aye, that was major.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:39 PM
Then he got persuaded by Sauron to build a nice temple, worship Morgoth
over Eru, and build an even bigger fleet to invade Valinor.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:40 PM
and the oops moment.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:40 PM
Which failed, leading to the downfall of his kingdom, the curving of
the world and the loss of the Valar's lands from mortal reach.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:40 PM
and getting dumped down a deep hole until the new Arda.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:41 PM
That too!
One could say he's ultimately responsible for setting up Middle-earth
for the reign of the mortal races while diminishing the influence of
the Ainur and perhaps leading to the fading of the Elves.
If only by reaching into the other direction.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:42 PM
Eru uses everything to work towards his final plans, although sometimes it's pretty uncomfortable.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:42 PM
Aye.
And even though the human race has the freedom of choice, Eru is pretty
good at predicting what those choices are and using them to make
something good (or at least intersting) out of them.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:42 PM
The Valar being far away like that helped the Free Peoples become more
capable of thinking for themselves, working out their own destinies.
hehe, interesting is a good word for it.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:43 PM
*interesting, yes, not intersting
"May you live in interesting times", hm?
Varda - Yesterday at 4:43 PM
Pardon, not trying to correct spelling, enjoying the concept. And yes, that too.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:44 PM
I know, but you made me notice it
And Varda.
Varda: Valie of Light, sung it up in the original song. Went to the aid
of Manwe, rejecting Morgoth who wanted the light for himself. Made the
stars. When the elves would have awakened in darkness after Morgoth's
destruction of the lights, she collected the old stars into
constellations and made many new and often brighter ones. She listens
to all.
Aiya Pallando!
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:46 PM
Aiya Pallando!
Pallando-Valar - Yesterday at 4:46 PM
Argh, late again. Aiya..
Varda - Yesterday at 4:46 PM
Just in time!
You get to tell us what Pallando did in the storyline. : )
Pallando-Valar - Yesterday at 4:49 PM
Well, depending on which version we're going with either knotting of
note" or "tried to set up his own cult/kingdom" with avatar in the south
Stupid autocorrect
Nothing, not knotting...
Varda - Yesterday at 4:49 PM
Autocorrect has a mind of its own, not always in agreement with ours, aye.
Seeing which Valar that Pallando found worth his following can give an idea of his personality.
Pallando-Valar - Yesterday at 4:51 PM
And alatar, not avatar. Grr, etc
Varda - Yesterday at 4:51 PM
And we know he must have been able to develop a very strong friendship.
ArienV - Yesterday at 4:52 PM
Aiya Pallando
Pallando-Valar - Yesterday at 4:52 PM
Orome
At least, iirc
ArienV - Yesterday at 4:52 PM
Orome of course
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:53 PM
Supposedly Pallando was pretty good at disrupting things in the East so Sauron had less troops to field in the West.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:53 PM
Here's a quote:
'I think they [the blue wizards] went
as emissaries to distant regions, East and South, far out of
Númenórean range: missionaries to enemy-occupied lands,
as it were. What success they had I do not know; but I fear that they
failed, as Saruman did, though doubtless in different ways; and I
suspect they were founders or beginners of secret cults and "magic"
traditions that outlasted the fall of Sauron.'
--Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien
(in our own Encyclopedia)
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:53 PM
Not sure where I read that other bit then.
Might go digging in UT.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:54 PM
That's a good idea.
UT mentions that those chosen to be Istari must be mighty, peers of
Sauron, but willing to forgo that might in order to treat Men and Elves
with equality.
Alatar was sent by Orome, suggesting that his friend Pallando was also of Orome, as Pallando-(Valar) just mentioned.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:58 PM
Oh, found something in Peoples of Middle-earth.
A rough note, mind.
Varda - Yesterday at 4:59 PM
Just below, it mentions Pallando had been listed as being of Mandos and Nienna
May have been a story change or addition
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 4:59 PM
"Their task was to circumvent Sauron:
to bring help to the few tribes of Men that had rebelled from
Melkor-worship, to stir up rebellion...
and after his first fall to search out his hiding (in which they
failed) and to cause [?dissenssion and disarray] among the dark East...
They must have had very great influence on the history of the Second
Age and Third Age in weakening and disarraying the forces of East...
who would both in the Second Age and Third Age otherwise have ... outnumbered the West."
Varda - Yesterday at 5:02 PM
Orome had the greatest knowledge of the further parts of Middle-earth and may have been destined to go there, it mentions.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 5:02 PM
This was from Last Writings, The Five Wizards, in the 12th History of Middle-Earth book.
Varda - Yesterday at 5:03 PM
That was a good quote, Phar. Since it wasn't directly obvious to our
hobbit story-tellers, we don't see much of them in the books. But very
important.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 5:03 PM
Indeed.
Varda - Yesterday at 5:05 PM
Pallando's name is also a clue, as it seems to contain elements of far wandering.
It's been an hour. Shall we stop at this point?
This section went longer and was more interesting than expected.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 5:06 PM
It was fun, yes!
Varda - Yesterday at 5:08 PM
a blue hammer shines brightly as it comes forward to do its duty, leading a host of sparkles behind it
thunk!
Aranuir - Yesterday at 5:08 PM
woo hoo!
Varda - Yesterday at 5:08 PM
duty done, the hammer and entourage return to the shelf

After-meeting!
Free chat about anything. : )
Pallando-Valar - Yesterday at 5:09 PM
Sorry about running you alliance out of GW, Ariel. :p

Varda - Yesterday at 5:13 PM
Is that an Eve Online comment? : )
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 5:14 PM
So. Want a gaming report yet?
Varda - Yesterday at 5:15 PM
Hi from Dis in LotRO!
I'm going to go cook, will read whatever else is here later.
We'd reallly like your flashgaming report. But don't feel stuck with giving a lot, as your gaming time is limited this late.
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 5:17 PM
's fine!
Varda - Yesterday at 5:17 PM
zips off to the giant kitchens of Taniquetil
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 5:17 PM
Right, let's start with 3 flashgames from this past week
https://www.kongregate.com/games/terra0nova/aground
is the first game! A pixel adventure on an island where you have to
survive after a shipwreck, completing quests and building stuff.
Kongregate
Aground
One of the last human survivors, you find yourself stranded on an
uninhabited island. With a few other victims of the crash, can you
craft, mine, and build you...
Later on, there be dragons!
ArienV - Yesterday at 5:21 PM
hm/
which Alliance?
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 5:21 PM
https://www.kongregate.com/games/ImpossibruGames/the-incredible-platformer
for the second game, a platformer puzzle where you have to put objects
in the level so the character will reach the end and not fall to his
death.
Kongregate
The Incredible Platformer
Place items to guide your player to the exit!
http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/pixepal
is the third game, something similar in a way, another platformer where
you have to click on things to interact with them, but this time you
also move around yourself and use the interactable items to get past
obstacles
Pixepal - OneMoreLevel.com
Blizzard gaming!
Now well over halfway to next level with all classes, none lagging
behind. Might level up one or two in the next week, that's how close
they are.
Wild-themed brawl this week, pick a class, get a themed deck of wild
cards. I chose priest, and got a really interesting one with a couple
of specific high mana minions including Ragnaros, and a lot of spells,
to summon minions from deck, to do damage to enemy minions, and a lot
of heals. This combines into a rather interesting stalling game until
you manage to get and maintain those high minions on the board. Quite
enjoyable!
Ehrr, that first game was Hearthstone, btw.
Heroes of the Storm: 3 new
levels, up to 254! 2 of them were for last week's brawl, where I was
forced play some random heroes I'd only played once or never, and got
both Kael'thas and Cassia to level 2. Cassia was actually quite fun,
and I think I might choose her as my next Diablo assassin after Li-Ming
gets to 15. She was the third leveler this week, getting to level 12,
so still a good way to go.
The brawl for this week, however, was another Hammer Time: 5 Sergeant
Hammer vs 5 Sergeant Hammer. I've played that hero a lot since the last
time the brawl came up, but the talent build I usually pick vs AI
wasn't very convenient for the conditions of this brawl, so still had
to learn a bit  Still good fun though. Hammer's always fun.
Diablo 3: Started the new
season! Rebirthed my Crusader for the umptieth time, since I know how
she operates, and it works thematically since apprentices would take
over name and equipment from their Crusader masters if they died
...Though in my case, only the name carries over!
Anarion - Yesterday at 5:46 PM
;)
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 5:47 PM
Only played for 2 nights, but since I decided I needed a challenge I've
been playing master difficulty from level 1 already. Quite tough,
especially the first few levels before you start to get better quality
gear, more healing, etc. Had my first death at level 4 already. And it
certainly wasn't my last.
But it did force me to pay attention to boss tactics and give-aways,
like the animations the Butcher boss does before he uses certain moves
which I need to avoid.
ArienV - Yesterday at 5:49 PM
Aiya Anarion :)#
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 5:49 PM
But I did end up at level 24 after all that, including 1 to 11 just
from my first Rift. And while the gear lags behind, I did manage to
take down Diablo at level 20, and am slowly easing into the difficulty
level. And if I keep this up, I can stay on the same difficulty until
max level
Aiya Anarion! So many people starting with A.
So yes, level 24 out of 70. Not bad for the first 2 sessions.
WoW:
No new pets out of the old raids, but the Legion raiding has been
successful. We brought down the Coven on heroic difficulty, using some
new crowd control tactics, and have moved on to the second-last boss,
Aggramar. Making good progress there, having found a good way to deal
with the add-phases. Just a matter of execution, I think, before we get
that done as well.
I also managed to get some people from my raidgroup together for the
last Aluriel-kill I needed for her achievement in the Nighthold, which
we now outgear by quite a bit, fortunately. In doing so, I completed
the meta-achievement for Emerald Nightmare and Nighthold, which got me
a nice new mount, the Grove Defiler, a nightmare version of the last
expansion's Grove Warden, which is a very nice looking moose mount
Also completed my hunt for Coins of Ancestry for the Lunar Festival,
visiting all the elders and getting enough coins to buy all the new
cosmetic flower crowns.
What flowers have to do with the lunar festival, I wouldn't know, but I've got em!
Also this week was the Hatching of the Hippogryph micro-holiday. Went
to Feralas, hatched an egg, giving me a buff to put a hatchling on my
shoulder. Then got a group together to kill the rare flying around and
getting a feather to extend that buff to 5 days.
Rather enjoyed having it around, and got my normal hippogryph hatchling pet out as a second companion for the theme.
Unfortunately, it didn't last long. The buff persists through death and
other incidents, but not through battlegrounds, for some reason. And
sure enough...
This week's weekly was battlegrounds!
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 6:00 PM
With a friend of mine we took the opportunity of the weekly quest to
win 4 battlegrounds by getting into groups for our first Rated
battlegrounds, which require specific groups to be found through the
groupfinder. This can be tough, since most require a prior rating of
some level, and we both started at 0. But we did find groups on
occasion, and we got the weekly done in a few nights.
Reason we went for the rated ones this time around is because you need
to win 10 rated battlegrounds to unlock an artifact appearance, and
there are 2 shoulder leatherworking rank 3 recipes which only have a
chance to drop from rated battleground wins.
And by the time we were done I had 1 of the 2 recipes and 7 out of the 10 wins. Good progress!
I'm sure we'll pick it up again later in the expansion and get the 10 wins easily, and hopefully the last recipe too.
Also got my last out of 4 druid artifacts to level 75, unlocking all
the relic slots for all of them. With the minimal benefit of higher
levels after this, and the very high amount of Artifact Power you need
for them, it's safe to say I'm done with focusing on AP as my rewards
for class hall missions and world quests. If I get a few more levels on
feral and guardian, that's fine, but it doesn't really matter anymore,
and now I can focus on other rewards, like gold which I'm still short
on
ArienV - Yesterday at 6:04 PM
grats
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 6:04 PM
Thanks!
ArienV - Yesterday at 6:05 PM
right ...i have to go to bed ^^
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 6:05 PM
And finally, I did get around to starting the Wish Remover project,
fishing a ton of different coins out of the Dalaran fountain.
ArienV - Yesterday at 6:05 PM
falling asleep here
and good job with that
can you do it in Legion Dalaran or do you have to do it in Lich King Dalaran?
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 6:06 PM
Got most of the coins already, only lacking 6 more. The last ones are
always the hardest, of course, but this time around there are different
lures you can buy which supposedly give higher chances for specific
coins. Nobody knows for sure which lures are best for what coins, but
Wowhead comments usually give something to try out from anecdotal
observations.
This is from Legion Dalaran, Lich King Dalaran has its own set of coins for an older achievement.
ArienV - Yesterday at 6:07 PM
ah right
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 6:07 PM
So hopefully, with the right lures, it shouldn't take too long to get those last 6
ArienV - Yesterday at 6:07 PM
mhh
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 6:07 PM
And that's my news for the week!
ArienV - Yesterday at 6:08 PM
good job
grats
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 6:09 PM
Thank you! And Namarie if you're going to sleep
ArienV - Yesterday at 6:09 PM
and yeah i was on holidays last week and been in Glasgow on Thursday to see one of my favorite Happy Metal bands
Ar-Pharazon-V - Yesterday at 6:09 PM
Ooh!
Happy Metal is a genre?
