Ar-Pharazon-V (23:43:10): Ah, I figured there just

Eonwe Valar (23:43:43): If by "your bit" you mean
your after-meeting list of gaming, not yet. We're not quite there :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:43:53): Nope. My small bit of
general gaming nes.
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:43:55): *news
Eonwe Valar (23:44:16): Go ahead then, and then we'll
go back for Web News right before Tolkien :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:44:48): Right! Well! Some of you
may recall me linking to a gigantic, highly popular and also quite
unusual webcomic called Homestuck
in the past...
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:45:14): during the last year (or
years) of that comic, the creator had been working on a game based on
that universe, which released last week!
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:45:37): so if you want a new game,
go to https://www.hiveswap.com/
;)
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:46:23): I want to get it myself,
but I'm not on Steam and wondering if it's worth making an account for
or using humble bundle.. I miss the time of cds and dvds :)
Eonwe Valar (23:46:32): :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:46:35): But I already heard from a
friend it's good stuff!
Eonwe Valar (23:46:50): Good to hear :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:47:02): So yeah, had to mention
that. Continue!

Ar-Pharazon-V (23:47:29): (oh, trailer has some info
on the game itself if you're curious)
Varda Valar (23:47:30): Thank you. ::)
Varda Valar (23:47:44): We'll have to take a look at
that, Phar. :)
Varda Valar (23:48:05): Art came in for the 20th

Varda Valar (23:48:58): The Bohemian Weasel has a
painting but I don't have it up yet, apologies all around, but you can
look forward to it this coming week. :)
Eonwe Valar (23:49:10): :}
Varda Valar (23:49:12): Hobbits in the Old Forest
Varda Valar (23:49:26): That's my news. All yours!
Eonwe Valar (23:49:44): Thanks :}
top
Eonwe Valar (23:50:12): Tolkien:
Eonwe Valar (23:50:39): Everyone here and ready for
some Tolkien, say Chrysophylax :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:51:46): Chrysophylax
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:52:03): well, somewhat, currently
in daily lower Kara :)
Arien V (23:52:10): Chrysophylax
Eonwe Valar (23:52:11): Oh good, I was afraid either
no one was here, or no one was ready for Tolkien :}
Varda Valar (23:52:21): Chrysophylax
Arien V (23:52:40): oh that was the nice dragon in
Farmer Giles :)
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:52:58): "nice", yes...
Varda Valar (23:54:00): well, only because it had to
be, or thought it had to be.
Arien V (23:54:27): tell me to remind me .. its been
a while :)
Eonwe Valar (23:55:52): Ok, Eonwe, Arien, Phar, Varda
is what I have for lsit of participants. Anyone I missed?
Eonwe Valar (23:56:02): *lsit = list
Varda Valar (23:56:03): (oh, and I"m in Discord and
LotRO also)
Varda Valar (23:56:14): Maedhros and Elwing in LotRO.
Eonwe Valar (23:56:41): Are they going to want a turn
on the game we're going to play? :}
Varda Valar (23:57:35): I doubt it. But I'll try a
relay. Don't wait on them or Elladan.
Eonwe Valar (23:57:51): OK.
Varda Valar (23:57:55): We can still give it a shot.
If they reply I'll relay
Eonwe Valar (23:58:01): Ok.
Eonwe Valar (23:58:33): So, we're going to play a game that makes the rules pretty apparent just by the
title: "Book or Movie?"
Ar-Pharazon-V (23:58:55): ooh, fun
Arien V (23:59:18): fun :)
Eonwe Valar (23:59:41): Pick something: person,
place, thing, from one *or* the other (so make it specific enough to
narrow down to either). Everyone else tries to determine which of those
two it came from.
Monday, September 18, 2017
Varda Valar (00:00:23): Tell us when to try it?
Eonwe Valar (00:00:27): I'm ruling out answers of
"both" because it's quite obvious we'd have a very (very!) long
potential list of "both" for answers if we did not.
Eonwe Valar (00:00:44): Part of the challenge is to
be picking something specific enough to be one or the other :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:00:54): and not have it be too
obvious...
Eonwe Valar (00:02:07): I'm going to pick the most
blatantly obvious one I can think of to give as the example and the
first round, so I expect everyone to get the first one right :}
Eonwe Valar (00:02:25): So here we go!
Eonwe Valar (00:03:14): Glorfindel meets Aragorn and the Hobbits on
the way to Rivendell.
Eonwe Valar (00:03:26): Book or Movie?
Arien V (00:03:31): Book
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:03:41): book
Varda Valar (00:03:46): book
Varda Valar (00:03:59): Unanimous :)
Eonwe Valar (00:04:13): Correct :}
Eonwe Valar (00:04:40): Arien's turn, the Phar, then
Varda, then back around. Feel free to think of trickier ones from here
on :}
Eonwe Valar (00:06:03): Go ahead when ready, Arien :}
Arien V (00:06:11): okay :) Aragorn goes looking for Athelas after
Frodo has been hurt
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:06:39): movie
Varda Valar (00:06:50): Book
Eonwe Valar (00:07:04): Hmm, that one is tricky,
because if we include the extended editions of the movie, I'm pretty
sure it's both.
Varda Valar (00:07:28): Extended does make it
trickier!
Eonwe Valar (00:07:47): I know he and Sam went
looking in the book, but I think the scene for the movie was not in the
theatrical edition.
Eonwe Valar (00:08:37): Since I didn't consider it,
let's take a vote: do we want to include extended editions or limit to
theatrical versions?
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:08:47): I remember the extended
better, so I'll stick to that :)
Varda Valar (00:08:50): Include extended
Arien V (00:09:00): all right
Varda Valar (00:09:00): It has some beauts. ;)
Eonwe Valar (00:09:02): I abstain.
Arien V (00:09:20): i had the book in mind
Arien V (00:09:54): but maybe it wasnt the best detail
Varda Valar (00:09:57): I'm not entirely sure I could
separate them.
Eonwe Valar (00:09:59): Including EE means that we
may have to be even more specific, hehe.
Varda Valar (00:10:12): Good exercise!
Eonwe Valar (00:11:11): So starting with Phar, we'll
consider EE as well, but Arien's intended answer rules in this case. So
everyone who said book was right :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:11:23): bah ;)
Varda Valar (00:11:48): (and Phar was right too, I
think. But no worries)
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:12:17): Hmm...
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:13:17): The company fighting the Nazgul *on*
Weathertop (I hope I got this right)
Varda Valar (00:13:49): both
Eonwe Valar (00:13:50): Movie.
Varda Valar (00:13:56): oh, *on*
Varda Valar (00:14:39): movie
Arien V (00:14:47): movie .. as far as i know in the
book it was in a camp at half height
Varda Valar (00:15:07): Kind of like lighting a
beacon :)
Arien V (00:15:09): that was used by rangers normally
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:15:27): correct :)
Varda Valar (00:15:49): Weapons coming from the mound of the
Barrow-wights.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:15:56): book
Eonwe Valar (00:16:06): Book
Arien V (00:16:06): book
Varda Valar (00:16:30): Aye. :)
Eonwe Valar (00:17:10): Treebeard saving Merry and Pippin from Old
Man Willow.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:17:19): Hah, movie!
Arien V (00:17:47): movie
Varda Valar (00:18:13): I don't remember that in
either one. :( Guess I'd better go watch again.
Arien V (00:18:37): its not book anyway
Arien V (00:18:44): so it has to be movie
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:18:51): extended, I believe
Varda Valar (00:18:53): It's not book, aye. :)
Eonwe Valar (00:19:23): Aye, it is an extended
edition scene in the movie.
Varda Valar (00:19:41): Sam and Frodo in Osgiliath.
Eonwe Valar (00:19:42): I need to go afk for a few
minutes, so if you come to my turn, please skip me until I get back.
Eonwe Valar (00:20:07): It was Arien's turn if we're
staying in order :}
Varda Valar (00:20:24): pardon, go ahead Arien ;)
Arien V (00:20:50): did you ask your question Varda?
Varda Valar (00:21:04): Apparently I was out of
order. :) That was my question.
Arien V (00:21:17): its movie
Varda Valar (00:21:52): Aye
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:21:52): movie, yep
Varda Valar (00:22:04): I was out of order. Eonwe
asked, then it's Arien, Phar, Varda.
Varda Valar (00:22:17): So, Arien's go. :)
Arien V (00:22:29): okay
Arien V (00:23:10): hmmmm the hobbits discussing the ongoings in
Bagend in Bywater
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:23:19): sounds like book
Varda Valar (00:23:39): Sounds like book to me too
Arien V (00:26:02): correct
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:26:46): Frodo falls off of a table while singing.
Arien V (00:27:04): Book
Varda Valar (00:28:08): Poem, guess it was a song.
Man in the Moon? Not sure he fell off a table in the book, need to go
read again too. :)
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:28:43): yep, man in the moon... and
I assumed it was a song because he performs it twice, which is
something you do not expect from a poem :)
Arien V (00:28:54): he did in fact .. under Striders
table ^^
Varda Valar (00:29:07): Good spot to fall!
Varda Valar (00:29:59): I asked mine earlier. Eonwe
isn't present, so back to Arien. :)
Eonwe Valar (00:30:24): Back
Arien V (00:30:35): he can ask then :)
Varda Valar (00:30:36): Arien saved by the Eonwe. :)
Eonwe Valar (00:30:41): :}
Eonwe Valar (00:31:01): Fionwe succeeds :}
Varda Valar (00:31:16): Huzzah!
Varda Valar (00:31:30): Now that's a cool reference.
:)
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:31:36): hehe
Eonwe Valar (00:31:51): OK, let's see...
Eonwe Valar (00:32:41): Gimli suggests Aragorn doesn't free the
Dead Men of Dunharrow just yet.
Varda Valar (00:33:12): Movie
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:33:32): Yeah, sounds like movie.
Arien V (00:33:35): i dont remember that one ^^
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:33:48): Despite him releasing them
later in the movie than in the book ;)
Eonwe Valar (00:34:11): Movie is correct :}
Eonwe Valar (00:34:35): And too bad, Phar, that
could've been a good question for your turn :}
Varda Valar (00:34:41): hehe
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:34:52): It could, but we've got
plenty of options.
Varda Valar (00:35:01): :)
Eonwe Valar (00:35:04): :}
Arien V (00:35:21): hmm the physical fight between Gandalf and
Saruman
Arien V (00:35:26): in Isengard
Varda Valar (00:35:28): movie
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:35:29): movie
Eonwe Valar (00:35:36): Movie.
Arien V (00:35:49): correct :)
Eonwe Valar (00:36:15): Although one does wonder how
exactly Saruman got Gandalf up there without a fight, hehe.
Arien V (00:36:34): i remember both actors mentioning
they had a lot of fun doing this scene :)
Eonwe Valar (00:36:40): :}
Varda Valar (00:36:53): Seems bruising, but glad they
enjoyed it.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:36:54): "Where's the bathroom?"
"See that little door all the way up there?"
Varda Valar (00:37:02): There you go!
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:37:26): let's see...
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:37:34): Legolas drinks Gimli under the table.
Varda Valar (00:37:38): Maybe just a display of
force? Gandalf certain that he would lose? Or left-over loyalty?
Varda Valar (00:37:45): Not mentioned in the book. :)
Eonwe Valar (00:37:54): Movie.
Varda Valar (00:38:06): aye, movie
Eonwe Valar (00:38:14): In response to Phar's subject.
Eonwe Valar (00:39:00): Aye to yours, not mentioned
in the book, so difficult to know for sure how Gandalf ended up there :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:39:54): nothing makes a movie like
2 old geezers with long beards fighting it out.
Eonwe Valar (00:40:02): hehehehe
Varda Valar (00:40:26): Knowing they're Maiar kind of
adds something to it. :)
Eonwe Valar (00:40:40): We certainly like our old
guys to be semi-retired action heroes, hehehe.
Varda Valar (00:40:54): The Witch-king breaking Gandalf's staff at
the gate of Minas Tirith.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:41:06): Speaking as someone who
recently watched The Expendables 3, I must agree with that :)
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:41:11): movie
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:41:15): no!
Eonwe Valar (00:41:24): Hmm,.. Yes, movie.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:41:26): in movie he does it
elsewhere in Minas Tirith... must be book
Varda Valar (00:41:55): The only staff to ever be
broken was by Gandalf the White, to Saruman's staff,in the books.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:42:06): Hmm. Fair enough.
Arien V (00:42:30): i dont remember Gandalfs staff
breaking at all in the book i wanted to say that
Eonwe Valar (00:42:31): I guess that confirms the
answer? :}
Varda Valar (00:42:44): Aye, movie.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:42:47): Guess I'll stick with my
first answer!
Varda Valar (00:43:17): Good plan
Eonwe Valar (00:43:20): :}
Eonwe Valar (00:43:34): Hmm...
Eonwe Valar (00:44:43): Aragorn leaves Anduril outside of Theoden's
Halls.
Varda Valar (00:45:05): Movie
Arien V (00:45:25): Book
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:45:29): I'm gonna say book.
Varda Valar (00:45:33): wasn't it both?
Eonwe Valar (00:45:34): Book is right :}
Eonwe Valar (00:45:41): He didnt have Anduril yet in
the movie :}
Varda Valar (00:45:47): hah! ok
Eonwe Valar (00:45:56): I had to get a little vague
to make that one work, hehe.
Eonwe Valar (00:46:21): In the book, he didn't like
it, but he left Anduril leaning against a wall, and forbade anyone to
touch it.
Varda Valar (00:46:42): Gorlim says hi from Discord.
:)
Eonwe Valar (00:46:48): Heya to Gorlim :}
Varda Valar (00:46:49): true on the book part
Varda Valar (00:47:03): Gorlim-Today at 5:45 PM
attending kind of
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:47:09): Aiya Gorlim!
Arien V (00:47:15): hey :)
Arien V (00:47:23): aiya Gorlim!
Eonwe Valar (00:47:27): In the book and movie, he
left *a* sword "Outside of Theoden's Halls" but only in the book was it
Anduril.
Eonwe Valar (00:48:00): Arien's turn :}
Arien V (00:50:06): very well
Arien V (00:51:08): hmmm Arwem and Aragorn have a romantic tete a
tete in Imladris before the party leaves
Eonwe Valar (00:51:21): Movie
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:51:23): movie (extended?)
Varda Valar (00:52:22): movie
Arien V (00:53:40): correc
Arien V (00:53:43): y
Arien V (00:53:49): correct
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:53:50): right, for mine...
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:54:03): Wormtongue stabs Saruman in the back.
Eonwe Valar (00:54:17): Book.
Varda Valar (00:54:33): Movie
Varda Valar (00:55:46): Book was throat.
Eonwe Valar (00:55:59): Yeah, was just thinking that.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:56:25): aw, was waiting for Arien
to choose first :)
Varda Valar (00:56:26): They went with back in the
movie I think because of real life experience
Varda Valar (00:56:43): He knew exactly what Saruman
would sound like
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:57:31): Might be a bit odd for
LotR, but I wonder if a closeup of his throat being slit was just a bit
too graphic for the screen.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:57:36): Stab in the back.. not so
much.
Eonwe Valar (00:57:46): Probably.
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:58:05): Of course, he then gets
impaled, but still.
Varda Valar (00:58:14): Probably right. Didn't have
to show close-up, could have been from behind Grima.
Arien V (00:58:20): yeah i remember thatr from
braveheart in a scene *shudder* even though in the meantime i ve seen
worse ^^
Eonwe Valar (00:58:31): They probably could've done
some camera angles to suggest without showing, but questionable if it
would've been clear enough.
Varda Valar (00:58:33): the drop on the wheel was
pretty bad too
Ar-Pharazon-V (00:58:39): I think I most vividly
remember it in Game of Thrones, at the red wedding.
Varda Valar (00:58:49): Braveheart, ouch.
Arien V (00:59:36): hehe i am sure we are all able to
come up with eeky movie scenes :) but lets continue instead
Eonwe Valar (00:59:43): :}
Eonwe Valar (00:59:48): Varda's turn :}
Varda Valar (01:00:10): Sam and Frodo at Osgiliath, where Frodo
takes the Ring out and shows it to the flying Nazgul.
Eonwe Valar (01:00:25): Movie.
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:00:29): movie
Arien V (01:00:35): movie
Varda Valar (01:00:37): Aye
Eonwe Valar (01:00:58): OK, last round :} Let's make
these good :}
Arien V (01:02:39): Merry
and Pippin end up doing the dishes at Bilbos birthday for stealing
fireworks
Varda Valar (01:02:58): Movie
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:02:59): Movie
Eonwe Valar (01:03:39): You skipped me? :}
Eonwe Valar (01:03:43): but Movie, yes :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:03:45): Eonwe next ;)
Eonwe Valar (01:03:55): I didn't realize I was
thinking that long, lol :}
Varda Valar (01:04:13): Go ahead, Eonwe :)
Eonwe Valar (01:05:10): Merry and Pippin fight at the Black Gate.
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:05:21): movie
Varda Valar (01:05:31): Not Merry in the book as he
was in the Houses of Healing. So, movie.
Eonwe Valar (01:06:15): Arien, your response?
Arien V (01:06:31): moivie yes
Eonwe Valar (01:06:47): Correct :}
Eonwe Valar (01:07:08): Phar's turn :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:07:12): Hmm, got several in my
head...
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:07:38): Legolas kills a beast with 3 arrows.
Varda Valar (01:07:45): (hate to have to end this.
Feel free to mention in After-meeting, but I'll have to go)
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:07:54): Enjoy!
Varda Valar (01:08:01): Three? um, has to be movie.
Eonwe Valar (01:08:07): Movie.
Varda Valar (01:08:09): The mumak
Eonwe Valar (01:09:12): All answers in?
Varda Valar (01:09:47): Arien?
Arien V (01:10:06): oh yes he does the acrobatcs on
the mumak . funny enough this *technique* has been adapted into the
Game epic questline :)
Varda Valar (01:10:16): ^^
Arien V (01:10:23): movie yes
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:10:25): heh, nice
Eonwe Valar (01:10:28): hehe
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:10:34): Yep, movie it is. I believe
he only requires one for a felbeast :)
Varda Valar (01:10:38): Good one, Phar
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:10:43): Also, it still only counts
as one!
Varda Valar (01:10:52): Aye, one in the dark on a
flying fell beast. :)
Varda Valar (01:11:16): Frodo tells Sam to leave him and Gollum at
Shelob's tunnel and Sam goes.
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:11:33): movie
Eonwe Valar (01:11:42): Gollum's fanfiction? :}
Eonwe Valar (01:11:45): I mean movie :}
Varda Valar (01:11:51): hehehe
Arien V (01:12:01): movie yes
Varda Valar (01:12:11): Aye, movie. :)
Arien V (01:12:23): and because its so much fun ..
Arien V (01:12:29): out of the contest
Varda Valar (01:12:34): Please feel free to add more
fun in the After-meeting. I really must leave.
Arien V (01:12:37): Frodo
and Sam stumble across them stealing vegetables at Farmer Maggot on the
way to Bockenberg Ferry then here then hear the Nazgul flying over them
and they end up casing through the forest and fall down a slope ..
Pippin sais * i have broken something * and holds up a giant carrot
broken in half ^^
Eonwe Valar (01:12:44): OK, ladies and gentlemen,
that wraps up the game and the meeting, so....
Varda Valar (01:12:46): ^^
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:12:46): that's movie :D

Arien V (01:15:04): :)
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:15:07): hehe
Eonwe Valar (01:15:15): :}
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:15:27): Interesting game, at least!
Varda Valar (01:15:53): Aye!
Arien V (01:16:38): i have to go as well i fear .. no

Ar-Pharazon-V (01:16:48): oki, I'll start my gaming
report with flashgaming, and then meet someone in Heroes of the Storm; after that
blizzardg aming.
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:16:51): aw, Namarie!
Arien V (01:17:05): Namarie friends :)
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:19:34): Personal gaming!
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:19:37): Flashgaming:
(01:21:51) Elladan left this group chat.
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:23:58): First one is http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/life_the_game
which is a very silly compilation of minigames on timers, for various
stages and events of life.
Ar-Pharazon-V (01:26:37): http://www.kongregate.com/games/kekgames/unpuzzle
is the second game, a puzzle game that requires you to take apart
jigsaw puzzles, one piece at a time. You get some very interesting
types of pieces as you go, that make it quite difficult, but it's not
actually possible to screw up, so that's nice.
Ar-Pharazon-V (02:46:17): http://www.kongregate.com/games/Trickysheep/kaleidoscope-reef
for the third game! Puzzle game, drag polyps and plankton to the right
places to rebuild your reef, overcoming the gimmick in each level.
Ar-Pharazon-V (02:48:29): And don't forget to scare
off the fish that come to eat you :)
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:12:32): Blizzard gaming!
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:13:52): Heroes of the Storm: level 214 now,
with a few more levels on various heroes. Some new epic skins got too.
This week's brawl was an old one, but a fun one, the Blackheart brawl,
with one team trying to blow up the oncoming ship and the other team
trying to stop them.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:14:49): Hearthstone: Defeated the Lich King
in the missions, with a nice jade idol druid deck, though it needed a
lot of tries to get the turns right. But when it clicked, it really
clicked :)
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:15:35): Started taking stock for
some decks for the other 8 classes I found online, not too many cards
missing. I could already attempt the fight with a class or 2, but not a
priority at the moment.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:16:33): This week's brawl was a new
one, but not that special; seems to be pre-fixed decks, Lich
King-themed, for each class. Still, stuff with pre-fixed decks is
always fun.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:17:40): Starcraft II: War chest phase 3
started, with a new comic (though rather cliffhanger, with 2 named
characters from the game and lore about to face each other in battle)
and the last skins to unlock. That's going well, I'm well into tier 2
of the 5.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:17:51): Should be less than 2 weeks
to get all of them.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:18:08): WoW:
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:20:44): New raidboss slain, heroic
Fallen Avatar! Only Kil'jaeden remains. Making some progress there. Dps
requirements are a bit less tight (though transitioning early in some
phases is really helpful) but it's mostly the mechanics to get under
control. I've had a special role myself, playing third tank with a dps
hybrid spec, to dps a bit while also catching all the large hails of
armageddon and helping out with adds. I'm not sure if it's a
sustainable role since we will want to go 2-tank eventually, but for
progressing and practicing it's quite useful.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:21:52): Got a new pet from the new
Cataclysm raid selection, Tinytron from one of the Blackwing Descent
bosses. True to the bossfight it comes from, it goes for a random color
every time you summon it, really nice.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:23:34): This week's weekly is 20
world quests, of which I have now done 17, so will finish that easily.
No new pvp or pet master quests there, but I did unlock a new type of
world quest, though I've only done 2 of those so far.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:25:35): That's related to the Trial
of Valor introduction questline which I finally embarked on, giving me
access to Helarjar Landing world quests, which help with the collection
of Trial of Valor soul fragments, something I started a long time ago
when we were still raiding the place weekly but never got to finish.
Between those quests, and the Trial quests themselves which I'll start
on when the Illidan questline sends me in as well, I should make it to
1000 and unlock the appearance set you get as reward.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:26:49): I'm at 28/40 soul fragments
(yes, 2 separate questlines for 2 specific types of soul fragments, not
very original) for the lllidan questline, having done more mythics, as
well as regular Upper Karazhan heroics. They don't seem to drop from
Lower Karazhan, alas.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:27:38): Karazhan itself is also
going well, today I finished the main questline there that's accessible
through heroic mode, and the next step will be doing the mythic
difficulty to get the quest-starter from Nightbane.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:28:47): I also finished collecting
the Nightshards from the Nighthold raid, which means I'm done there
except for quests from both Suramar and the Balance of Power questline
to kill Gul'dan, the last boss. But for story's sake I won't go for
that until the Illidan questline is done.
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:29:24): And finally I decided to
pick up another falcosaur hatchling, this time the Stormheim type.
Little thing was hard to find!
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:31:43): Oh, almost forgot, got to
revered with the Legionfall faction through basically class hall
missions only, while having done very few quests for them. All that's
left to unlock flying in this expansion for me is to explore one last
corner of the Broken Shore, but I don't really feel like it yet since
the questing I'm still doing feels more fun and authentic without being
able to fly, though it would certainly speed up travel in some ways. At
the latest I'll get it when I'm actually questing in the Broken Shore,
which I should get to around the start of October, though I might give
into the temptation earlier than that :)
Ar-Pharazon-V (03:32:10): And that's my report for
the week!
Ar-Pharazon-V (04:21:01): namarie, sending transcript
tomorrow
