Varda Valar: Just got back from Arizona, barely got the computer set up
in time for the meeting, but we made it!
Varda Valar: Had a lovely birthday party, got to see the grandbaby who
is now saying phrases, and much fun was had.
Varda Valar: Visited with Eowyn and Faramir
Ar-Pharazon-V: Why do you need to set up the computer when you get back
home? Do you always carry the thing with you?
Varda Valar: On the way home, visited with Meriadoc-V
Varda Valar: It's a laptop and yes.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah, that makes more sense ;-)
Varda Valar: It's how I came to the meeting last weekend while in
Arizona.
Varda Valar: It's a fast set-up. :-)
Arien V: aiyata and welcome home :-)
Varda Valar: I drag it along to work from, but playing is fun too. :-)
Varda Valar: Thank you
Varda Valar: On Facebook, saw some lovely pictures your Bruce took,
Arien. :-)
Varda Valar: I assume you were along?
Arien V: no i wasnt :)P
Varda Valar: awww
Arien V: i am a bit handicapped with my knee stiill
Arien V: so i dont walk so well atm :-(
Varda Valar: How is it for you sitting at the computer?
Varda Valar: That can bother some knee problems too, just wondered if
we need to turn you loose soon
Arien V: no sitting is no problem at all L:)
Varda Valar: Oh good :-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: At least it doesn't do much moving then.
Varda Valar: Elwing is out of the hospital after eye surgery, won't be
able to play for a while, but plans to back, so don't writer her off,
fellow gamers.
Arien V: its gotten a lot better since it happenened , i can walk no

Varda Valar: ugh
Arien V: wish her all the best and say hello from me :-)
Varda Valar: :-)
Varda Valar: Hi from Sauron and Fangorn
Ar-Pharazon-V: Indeed, good luck with both of your recoveries.
Ar-Pharazon-V: And hi to them!
Arien V: been there done that .. .. did some laser on my eyes when i
was 18 but they botched it a bit .. thankfully not too bad
Varda Valar: o man, that's so wrong
Arien V: they just started on Lasersurgery back then
Ar-Pharazon-V: Not very reassuring!
Ar-Pharazon-V: I couldn't do that consciously. I'd have a lot of
trouble keeping my eyes still.
Arien V: to his defense .. he was young ^^ and new to the job
Ar-Pharazon-V: Eck, reminds me of when the device blew into my eyes
when I first got glasses.
Varda Valar: Hope your eyes are ok now
Arien V: yeah as good as they getr :-)
Varda Valar: Yay!
Arien V: okay here endeth the medical lesson :-D carry on [Note: some
details left out by request]

Varda Valar: Nothing new on the Tolkien Site. Our artists are still
busy with their non-Tolkien projects at the moment, and writer still
working on her next chapter, and no others in at the moment.
Varda Valar: Unless either of you has a nifty link?
Arien V: not at the moment i fear

notes:
Varda Valar: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?648834-Update-19-1-Release-Notes
Varda Valar: I can't seem to enter LotRO at the moment. It's stuck on
"Cleaning up old connection".
Varda Valar: Hoping to enter later and be able to give the report on
who showed up this past week.
Ar-Pharazon-V: That sounds rather specific.
Varda Valar: Did either of you see any fellow Valarites this past week?
Ar-Pharazon-V: Fladrif in
Hearthstone, trying out the new brawl.
Arien V: uh spotted Pallando
on Eve briefly last week
Varda Valar: Oh good :-)
Arien V: and Helm logging in
and out i think his daughter uses bnet tho to chat with friiends ^^
Varda Valar: We'll just have to get her into chatting Tolkien too. ;-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: The next generation!
Varda Valar: Hah, trying the free to play account. It seems to be
loading.
Varda Valar: in!
Ar-Pharazon-V: Probably something account-based then.
Varda Valar: Hi from Dis and Erkenbrand :-)
Varda Valar: Aye
Ar-Pharazon-V: Hi!
Varda Valar: Relayed your hi, Phar :-)
Varda Valar: I may insert the LotRO players here later in the
transcript, after collecting them. But does that make it not exactly a
transcript?
Varda Valar: Kinship] Lilyblossom: ((Wave to all))

Arien V: oh yeah .. my Guardian officially outlevelled my burglar at 84
^^
Ar-Pharazon-V: Is that a good thing? :-)
Varda Valar: Congrats to the Guardian. And Burgs usually outlevel
Guardians, so that's a switch. :-)
Arien V: hehe :-)
Varda Valar: Suggests the Guardian is playing more. :-)
Arien V: they both hop around in the same area but i think i missed the
Eaves of Fangorn on the burgler
Arien V: and yeah i pl;ayed the guardian a bit more ^^
Varda Valar: That's a clue
Varda Valar: Looking at Eonwe's Valar Guild Game Site
now:

Ar-Pharazon-V: Trial of Valor's out.
Ar-Pharazon-V: The intermission-raid, sort of extension of Emerald
Nightmare (but not lorewise).
Ar-Pharazon-V: We took a shot at one of the bosses today, but still
quite difficult :-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, and Darkmoon Faire's over now, so if you don't have
the new mount yet, gotta wait a month!
Varda Valar: Thanks
Ar-Pharazon-V: And I just noticed you already mentioned a blog post on
that raid, but still, some elaboration couldn't hurt!
Varda Valar: Elwing is on the phone, Arien, please took over
Arien V: yep sure
Arien V: carry on Phari
Ar-Pharazon-V: That was it for my general wow news, feel free to
continue the gaming news :-)
Arien V: i also read the recap on the q & A from the Blizz con and
the preview for the next *big* patch
Arien V: which sounds awesome
Ar-Pharazon-V: So far info's out about 3 new patches to come already.
7.1.5, 7.2 and 7.3.
Ar-Pharazon-V: 7.3 looks quite exciting!
Arien V: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/news/20355988
Arien V: this one
Arien V: yes 7.3 sounds great
Arien V: been poking around the two last parts of the Illidan story ..
a bit grinding on world quests for the Pathfinder achievement so ..
getting along :-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: Meanwhile I'm still struggling in Highmountain.. it's a
bit sad, really. I keep trying to add afternoons to my schedule but
stuff always gets in the way :-)
Arien V: and further on from the website
Arien V: Check out the Post-Blizzcon Q&A.
Check out this week's hotfixes.
Arien V: hehe got troo many characters now at max level ^^ but still

Arien V: Highmountain can be a bit confusing i
Ar-Pharazon-V: Tons of sidequests everywhere you go.
Arien V: In Diablo 3

Arien V: Patch 2.4.3 is on the PTR. See the PTR patch notes for more info.

Tolkien:
Arien V: Does anyone have an idea for a Tolkien topic or Tolkien moment?
Arien V: I have found a Tolkien moment, an
inspiring one. It is the moment on the Pelennor fields when all seemed
lost but ....
Arien V: "Then suddenly Merry felt it at last, beyond a doubt: a
change. Wind was in his face! Light was glimmering. Far, far away, in
the South the clouds could be dimly seen as remote grey shapes, rolling
up, drifting: morning lay beyond them.
Arien V: But at that same moment there was a flash, as if lightning had
sprung from the earth beneath the City. For a searing second it stood
dazzling far off in black and white, its tomost tower like a glimmering
needle. and trhen as te drkness closed again there came rolling over
the fields a great "boom".
Arien V: At that sound the bent shape of the king sprang suddenly
erect. Tall and proud he seemed again: and rising in his stirrups he
cried in a loud voice, more clear than any here had heard a
mortal man achieve before:
Arien V: Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden!
Arien V: Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter, spear shall be shaken,
shield be splintered, a sword day, a red day
Arien V: ere the sun rises! Ride now, ride now!"
Arien V: End quote :-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: What was the flash?
Varda Valar: Sounds like Gandalf
Varda Valar: He shot light against the flying nazguls to rescue Faramir
who was bringing his men back to the City.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah, that was the timing.
Varda Valar: So he helped with more than one group in that flash.
Varda Valar: I'm being called away. The guys kindly made supper.
Varda Valar: Arien still has the gavel. (I enjoyed your last gaveling
too, creative!)
Ar-Pharazon-V: Enjoy your supper!
Arien V: very well *looks through the selection of gavels* .. *eyes
fall on a silvery twinkly one .. maybe Tulkas had something with Varda
there ;)? .. *picks that one ... bangs it and silver spray flies in all
directions*
top
Arien V: After-meeting?
Arien V: eerr i mean Aule of course *slaps head*(
Arien V: make that "maybe Aule had something with Varda"
Ar-Pharazon-V: Valar valar everywhere.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Tough to tell em apart sometimes.
Arien V: so you can fill us in with your personal report if you wish
Phari :-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: Alright, let me leave WoW first though ;-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: Okay, let's see. Personal gaming!
Ar-Pharazon-V: Gathered some flashgames (difficult for this week,
there seems to have been some influx of political/social
commentary-like games for this week), but there's one that I might have
mentioned in the past already. But eh, gotta get 3!
Ar-Pharazon-V: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Griman/shadowless
is a platform adventure game that has you travelling across in a
medieval setting, looting or buying better gear and shooting or
slashing your way through. Some skill involved, too! May have mentioned
it before on another website, but a daily badge was up for it this week
so I played it some more/again ;-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/treasure_hunter
is the second game. One button only, which means timing is always the
key. Jump across platforms, gather coins, avoid spikes. Needs a bit of
luck.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Well, more timing than luck. But luck in getting the
right timing?
Ar-Pharazon-V: http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/house
is the third game! Adventure/horror game with almost unexpected deaths
all over the house. Bit gruesome though, so stay away if you don't like
that sort of thing.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, and if you die, you wake up in the bed again, but
some progress stays!
Arien V: hehe sounds fun .. at least they give you a bed ^^
Ar-Pharazon-V: hehe
Arien V: right i have to go unfortunately , since early start
Arien V: but you can still put your personal gaming report here and for
the transcript yes?
Ar-Pharazon-V: Sure, and Varda's still here afk :-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!
Arien V: Namarie for now :-) yep she is enjoying her dinner :)#
Arien V (AriehnV) has left the room.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Blizzard gaming.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Heroes of the Storm:
Got my last active hero to level 8, Artanis. Now time for the long
stretch to level 9. Heroes Brawl is alright this week, pick one of 3
random heroes and fight over some temples. Whoever holds a temple does
damage to enemy core. Seems to start with one temple, future rounds get
more until a team gets 2 wins. So you have to spread your forces too.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Hearthstone:
Getting more "weird" quests again, including using a lot of class cards
of various classes. Just got a play 30 murloc quest today, maybe I
should make a paladin deck for it or something...
Ar-Pharazon-V: This game's brawl was an older one, with all cards
costing 1 mana and having 1/1 stats, make your own deck. Key seems to
be some weirdly specific legendaries, or just cards with battlecries
and buffs. Can be a lot of fun!
Ar-Pharazon-V: *this week's brawl
Ar-Pharazon-V: WoW: We cleared
heroic Emerald Nightmare raid on thursday, giving us the chance to poke
Trial of Valor today. Tough first boss, though we did get into phase 2
a few times.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Got a new pet from Ulduar, a little tank from Mimiron.
Makes noise, too.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Still doing the same raids for old appearances, though I
did get some new stuff from all of them. Progress is slow but
steady-ish.
Ar-Pharazon-V: This week's weekly quest was 5 timewalks in Northrend
instances, quite fun, even though they can be annoying. After that I
went to the Darkmoon Faire and spent some hours fishing 500 fish for
the new mount.. which can only be used under water and is therefore
practically useless. But it looks nice!
Ar-Pharazon-V: Got my third rare archeology quest done too.. and then I
resumed some questing in Highmountain, getting a whole ton of
side-quests done, getting an eagle pet in the process, and pushing a
bit into the Bloodtotem storyline. So there's some progress.
Ar-Pharazon-V: And that's my report for this week!
Ar-Pharazon-V: Oh, and finally did enough Cookie Clicker to get my first reset
since the July patch, but things should be faster from here on, I don't
need as many prestige levels this time around for my next goal. So it
should be fun to see it develop again :-)
Varda Valar: Thank you, Phar :-)
Varda Valar: The guys had a surprise birthday party when I got
downstairs. :-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: Yay! It's today, then?
Varda Valar: I wasn't home at the time. It was the 10th
Varda Valar: They wanted to have a party too. :-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: Ah, congratulations :-)
Varda Valar: Thank you.
Varda Valar: 63rd
Ar-Pharazon-V: A good number?
Varda Valar: Aye. Easily divisible by three. :-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: Can't really imagine making it that far myself. Health
issues already. But who knows?
Ar-Pharazon-V: Divisible by 3, and 7, and 9...
Ar-Pharazon-V: did I miss any?
Varda Valar: Medicine keeps progressing. Hey, people in my generation
didn't expect to live past 30. Supposed to have a nuclear bomb dropped
on us, heh. Still here.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Heh, true.
Varda Valar: Don't count yourself out until you're out!
Ar-Pharazon-V: We're supposed to drown before then ;-)
Varda Valar: Nahh
Varda Valar: Look at the Netherlands and New Orleans. Under the sea
level now and still chugging.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Yep yep.
Varda Valar: Rev up that tech or super sandbags or fix up cool
underwater cities. A bit of Nemo.
Varda Valar: We have someone predicting the end of the world lots of
years. Excuse for parties in my opinion. ;-)
Ar-Pharazon-V: hehe
Varda Valar: Tried to invite Elladan earlier, still that error of
already being in a session, and we hadn't even chatted. Nutty program.
Ar-Pharazon-V: Hmm. Weird.
Varda Valar: aye
Varda Valar: Namarie
Ar-Pharazon-V: Namarie!
Varda Valar (VardaValar1) has left the room.
Ar-Pharazon-V: saving and sending transcript
