Varda Valar: We had hoped to have a new image for you, but
Varda Valar: when the pic was sent, the skin color turned bright yellow.
ElladanV: jaundiced
Varda Valar: We should have another pic later on but for those that can

Varda Valar: Good to hear he'll be back!
arpharazonv: Nope, page doesn't work for me.
Varda Valar: hehe - I remember life without TV, or computers, or internet. Internet stuff is very addictive, aye.

Arien V: yeah he went to Inverness to get married but it didnt work out
, but anyway he has a flat now and gets internet and cant wait for it ^^

Varda Valar: Nice
Varda Valar: Eonwe has his gaming up, thank you Eonwe!

Varda Valar: Gaming:
Varda Valar: LotRO (from Eonwe):
Varda Valar: Update 18 is out.
Varda Valar: There are a few new dev diaries: )The Making of a Battle, Combat Changes, and Featured Instances.
Varda Valar: We've been enjoying working our characters up to 105 and the new areas, quests, and instances.
Varda Valar: WoW:
Varda Valar: There's a new blog series called Toy Box Tuesday. See the first one.
Varda Valar: Check out the most recent Legion Alpha info.
Varda Valar: Check out the recent hotfixes.
arpharazonv: Bah, why aren't those on EU as well...
Varda Valar: I don't know if they are or not, sorry.
arpharazonv: They're not :)
Varda Valar: meh. Maybe they'll translate and update soon.
arpharazonv: Oh, wait. I've seen this one.
Varda Valar: Luckily you can read these in English anyway.
arpharazonv: I just didn't realize it was going to be a weekly feature.
Varda Valar: ahh
Varda Valar: Diablo 3:
arpharazonv: And apparently it's not me. The weekly feature wasn't mentioned in the EU version.
Varda Valar: oops
Varda Valar: See the preview on the new cosmetic items coming in the new patch.
Varda Valar: Check out the recent updates to the PTR patch notes.
Varda Valar: StarCraft 2:
Varda Valar: Changes are being made to the ladder map roster.
arpharazonv: (also, the EU blog is in English too)
Varda Valar: Hearthstone:
Varda Valar: (oh, ok)
Varda Valar: Khadgar comes to the Tavern.
Varda Valar: Also, check out the notes for patch 4.3.0.12266.
Varda Valar: Heroes of the Storm:
Varda Valar: See the recent balance updates.
Varda Valar: That's all the general news from the Valar Games Site.
Varda Valar: Anyone have more to add to the general news?
arpharazonv: Note, Khadgar's only for the iphone users. That is, you
can only purchase him through one of them Apple machiny things, though
if you have him, you can also use him in pc version.
Varda Valar: That is weird, considering it's a pc game
arpharazonv: Nah, it's a project in cooperation with Apple.
arpharazonv: Charity, I believe.
Varda Valar: Charities have special rules, so that makes better sense.
Varda Valar: Any other news of any kind for the main meeting, or suggestions for our web or gaming?
Varda Valar: or meeting or whatever/

Varda Valar: Tolkien:
Varda Valar: A suggestion for a topic is from Gorlim-(V):
Varda Valar: The woses, such as Ghan-buri-ghan, lived in the
wilderness. Would they have had any contact with ents? This is
speculation.
arpharazonv: Different wilderness, ents seemed to be contained in
Fangorn, though there might have been some lone ents around elsewhere
like perhaps Old Man Willow, having gone to tree-mode.
arpharazonv: I'd suspect there were legends among the Woses, from when the forests joined up a bit more.
arpharazonv: But actual regular contact, probably not.
Varda Valar: I agree they were unlikely to have had regular contact.
Varda Valar: The ents used to travel through many forests. Treebeard
tells us some of the travel, one reason they lost contact with the
ent-wives who did not travel.
Varda Valar: They visited many forests and loved the wild areas.
Varda Valar: At some time, they very well could have met the Druadan,
the Woses. It might just be legend by the time of the War of the Ring
Varda Valar: I like your thought of a version of Old Man Willow, maybe
a friendlier sort, since the Woses were wild rather than being like the
settled Hobbits.
arpharazonv: They might have kept it friendly and awake, yes, if there was an ent representative in their neck of the woods.
Varda Valar: Interesting. They might have kept it awake.
Varda Valar: Protecting it or similar or awakened trees might have been
part of why they wanted others to stay out of their area?
arpharazonv: Could be!
arpharazonv: I am reminded of old druidic and such tales where people would worship mighty trees :)
Varda Valar: Aye. Those seemed to be seeing trees as a reaching from earth into the sky/heavens.
Varda Valar: The ents or awakened trees would have received great
interest and respect from the Woses. It could over time have evolved
into more, or the memory of them could have.
arpharazonv: Sounds like something Tolkien might have done :)
Varda Valar: The Woses stayed in place since the Second Age. Maybe they
were trying to stay around their special tree or trees and keep the
area wild for it/them?
Varda Valar: True
arpharazonv: Making sure they could preserve at least that piece of
forest rather than migrating and risking having nowhere to find a new
home.
Varda Valar: They had been harried by other humans, being as the elves put it "unlovely". That can be misunderstood as "evil".
Varda Valar: Aragorn granted them land to be left alone by others.
Varda Valar: They didn't trade or otherwise work with other races, staying hidden until they disappeared somehow.
Varda Valar: So if they had any ent or awakened trees in their forest, no one would have heard.
arpharazonv: Sneaky!
Varda Valar: Maybe the ent slipped outside now and then
Varda Valar: The Woses could have slipped outside and likely not been noticed, migrated elsewhere.
Varda Valar: We forgot to mention it.
arpharazonv: That is possible. But sneaking out over the plains of Rohan as a people would be impressive.
Varda Valar: heh
Varda Valar: We don't have an article on them in our Encyc, but do in our companion Encyclopedia made by Elatan.
Varda Valar: Noticed the link changed and needs repair:
Varda Valar: http://www.annalsofarda.dk/annals-of-arda/Others-index-tables/Others.htm
Arien V: being a bit smaller .. sturdier , a bit more suited to life in the forest close to nature
Varda Valar: Click on Druedain, no longer straight to it.
Varda Valar: Handy on a deer path, less ducking.
Varda Valar: Ahh, here's a straight in link, but that drops the pretty and the navigation:
Varda Valar: http://www.annalsofarda.dk/annals-of-arda/Others-index-tables/alfahtms/druadaintext.htm
Varda Valar: Elatan, some of you may remember as Amillo-(Valar)?
Varda Valar: *picks up a hammer gingerly*
Varda Valar: *taps it on the hammer pad on the table*
Varda Valar: *thoooooooooooom!*
Arien V: *hooom hoom*
Varda Valar: *distant avalanches, nothing local though, no worries*

Varda Valar: After-meeting!
Arien V: i bet the druadan had bigger noses because they relied more on
smell for changes of wind direction, or enemies approaching or other
dangers such as fire
arpharazonv: Okay then! Personal gaming. 3 games this week!
arpharazonv: Flashgames, I mean.
Varda Valar: cool
arpharazonv: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Onefifth/coins
is a puzzle game where you have to move coins around to occupy all the
marked spots, but you can only place coins in a slot that borders two
other coins. Completing a level can be frustrating enough, but just try
to do it in minimal moves ;)
Varda Valar: Nice tip
arpharazonv: For the second game I'll give you http://www.kongregate.com/games/TheGameHomepage/scriball
which is a physics puzzle game where you have to guide a yellow ball
through a deadly maze to a green ball, using the mouse to draw paths
and make the ball jump when needed.
arpharazonv: Can get very tricky.
arpharazonv: And http://www.kongregate.com/games/SilenGames/granny-strikes-back
is a shooter/defense/upgrade game where you have to fend off invasions
by snowmen and other creatures, while farming plants for ammunition.
arpharazonv: Now.. blizzardy games!
arpharazonv: Still going strong in Heroes of the Storm. No new levels, though.
arpharazonv: Hearthstone: Same
story. This week's brawl was a tough one, testing deck-making skills,
with some random-ish conditions for which minions and spells you can
put in your deck. Deck-making being my weakness, I just grabbed
something from the internet which was cheap enough ;)
arpharazonv: Diablo 3: Season 5
is now over. I managed to finish chapter 6 of the season journey, but
nothing more. Still, I've got plans and experience now for the next
season, though I'm not sure if the chapters are any different.
arpharazonv: I should probably clear out the stuff in the mail now that
got sent over from my seasonal stash.. will have to delete some things
to make enough room. But that's fine. I'll get a ton of new stuff in
the next season!
arpharazonv: WoW: Got my last rare from archeology in this expansion, the frostwolf ghost pup pet. Very cute!
arpharazonv: Been doing archeology as well as levelling my new horde
alt, alternating between them, because I decided to feed the hordy 3
levels for every Pristine I get in archeology, to make sure neither
project is neglected.
arpharazonv: As a result I've gotten several new pristine items and
have levelled the troll to 14, with 16 being the current goal. At 16
he'll also get his Moonkin form, for which I named him. Sort of coming
into his destiny!
arpharazonv: His stats for crit and haste peaked at level 10 with these
heirlooms, where he had 127% crit-chance, for example. But since then
it's dropped dramatically, and is now about 50-60%.
arpharazonv: Still a bit overpowered, but having 127% was quite a sight.
arpharazonv: Other than that, not much to tell, things are slow. Few
heroic kills in Hellfire Citadel as usual. My treasure mission
achievement is coming along, should be done in a week. Will then throw
some of my artefact-currency at spawning exploration missions, and see
how far we get there.
arpharazonv: And that's my news for this week!
Arien V: hehe enjoying him tho?
ElladanV: yikes!
ElladanV: missed all this
arpharazonv: Oh yes! But being overpowered and a bit overlevelled now
for Durator isn't always a good thing. I had to be really careful for
the quest where I had to damage striders until they ran away across the
river, to make sure I didn't kill them.
arpharazonv: *Durotar
arpharazonv: I think I'll take him along the Barrens route when all
this is done. Might do Azshara at a later point. Having alternative
questing paths can be such a pain :)
arpharazonv: And on a side-note, the webcomic I mentioned last week, Homestuck, is now finally over.
arpharazonv: If you want, the last cinematic for it can be seen at
(Link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FevMNMwvdPw)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FevMNMwvdPw
arpharazonv: I love the music :)
arpharazonv: Also, not sure if you can see the URL, Trillian embeds it as a video directly.
arpharazonv: Note the LotR reference at the start ;)
arpharazonv: well, near the start
Arien V: Namarie all :-)
arpharazonv: Namarien!
arpharazonv: Saving the transcript, hopefully sending it.
