and promising :-)
AriehnV: Heroes of the Storm:
AriehnV: New patch is coming as well there :-) and on the PTR for this game with the patch notes here
AriehnV: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/19941042/patch-240-ptr-patch-notes-11-11-2015

AriehnV: http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/19940884/hearthstone-patch-40010833-the-league-of-explorers-11-10-2015
AriehnV: which you can find there *points up* ]
AriehnV: thats the games news from Blizzard :-)
AriehnV: Cala you have been playing Starcraft ad Hearthstone, correct?
AriehnV: Phari i mean :-)
AriehnV: Golden one if you are here?
ArPharazonV: I've been playing Starcraft, Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm :-)
ArPharazonV: And WoW.
AriehnV: yes that is understood anyway :-P
AriehnV: from non Blizzard games i ve been playing a bit SwotR and a tiny bit Rift
AnarionV: I'm playing a bunch of things, but the only blizzard game I've been playing is Hearthstone :-)
AriehnV: in SwotR i finished the class quests on Corellia for my Jedi sage has reached level 63 :-)
ArPharazonV: I haven't tried the first wing of the league of explorers yet, but I'll get it done at some point...
AriehnV: and great :-)
AnarionV: Yeah, neither have I, Pharazon
AriehnV: oh i missed Web news but there are no new ones up anyway
AriehnV: was there a link to Marigold - V s poem "Frodo Baggins"
AriehnV: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/poetry/FrodoBaggins.htm
AriehnV: just in case
AriehnV: Sorry for my unconventional style today *blush*
ArPharazonV: that's fine :-)
AriehnV: and of course and a bit of Lotro i played last week but not
really that much .. oh yes I ve been questing a bit with Bregalad on
Monday and Tuesday :-)
AriehnV: we did some Bookquests on our level 30 ish characters :-)
AriehnV: which I greatly enjoyed
AriehnV: a couple of missions on Eve online and Pallando has been spotted there but couldnt get together unfortunately
AriehnV: Anarion, do you have any Valar related gaming news from Loro or otherwise?
top
AriehnV: otherwise it is time for a Tolkien topic or a Tolkien moment :-)
AriehnV: whisper me if you have any and / or say "Murkgoblin Brimbarium" if you here
ArPharazonV: Murkgoblin Brimbarium
AriehnV: do you wish for a quick topic Phari :-)?
ArPharazonV: Do you have one? ;-)
AriehnV: spontaneous .. since i read that poem earlier on from Marigold
AriehnV: Hobbit Poems ^^
AriehnV: in LotR either written by Hobbits or referring to them :-)
ArPharazonV: Bilbo was good at poems and songs.
AriehnV: indeed can you name any of these?
AnarionV: The Road Goes Ever On and On
AriehnV: correct :-)
ArPharazonV: As a special one, I do believe Bilbo came up with the one about Aragorn/Strider :-)
ArPharazonV: All that is gold does not glitter.
AriehnV: correct :-) " Not all those who wander are lost.. "
AriehnV: the old that is strong does not wither .. deep roots are not reached by the frost
AriehnV: From the Ashes a fire shall be woken
ArPharazonV: And there's the walking song, which got moved to an entirely different place in the movie, as sung by Pippin.
AriehnV: a light from the shadows shall spring .. renewed shall be
blade that was broken and the crownless again shall be king .. *nods at
Phari*
AriehnV: right and there is also a "cover version" of " The road goes ever on" by Frodo
AriehnV: Then we have Bilbo's song about Earendil that he wrote just before the council of Elrond in Rivendell
ArPharazonV: Also, was the bath song one of Bilbo's?
AriehnV: yes i think so you are right
AnarionV: Are we including sung poems (songs) or just spoken poems?
AriehnV: both
AriehnV: there is the winter poem of Bilbos in Rivendell before the fellowship sets out
AnarionV: Then in that case we have the song where the elves question why a dozen dwarves are arriving in Imladris
AnarionV: And the Tom Bombadil summoning song
AriehnV: its songs in general but no song specifically written by Hobbits or about them :-)
ArPharazonV: Did the elves also include the hobbit in their song? :-)
AnarionV: The former also concerned a hobbit, and the latter was sung by one
AriehnV: i think actually they did but it was a silly reference i think
AriehnV: yeah you are right :-)
AriehnV: i stand corrected .. my pardonj
AriehnV: "I sit beside the fire and think" is the winter poem i referred to Earlier
ArPharazonV: Ah yes.
AriehnV: then we have Sam's "Troll sat alone on a stone" of course
AnarionV: The Green dragon song (which is in the book, but in a different place than the movie)
AnarionV: Oh what, I don't think I remember troll sat alone on a stone
AriehnV: Sam sais it on the way to Rivendell after the attack on weathertop , Anarion.
AnarionV: Oh wow, now that I'm reading it I do very much remember it
AriehnV: Frodo was wounded by a Morgul knife and they were a few days
into the trip when they passed the place where the three trolls as told
in "The Hobbit" turned into stone when they quarrelled about how to
cook thirteen dwarves and a Hobbit :-)
AnarionV: The Done by/Gum by, Hee now/See now, now. That short rhyme is almost unforgettable
AriehnV: Aragorn asked for a poem to cheer them up and Sam came up with this
ArPharazonV: Good entertainer on the spot!
AriehnV: another poem said by Sam .. i dont think it was written by him was the verse about the oliphant " Grey as a mouse" :-) as he is asking Gollum in Ithilen whether he saw one
AriehnV: but it was almost for sure written by a forefather of Hobbits of some kind
AriehnV: its that kind of style
ArPharazonV: Recited by one, which is good enough :-)
AriehnV: then for completion sake there is one poem mentioning them actually :-)#
AriehnV: The old lists of living things of the ents .. the new line added :-)
ArPharazonV: Ah yes!
AnarionV: Have you mentioned the poem mourning the loss of gandalf?
AriehnV: ah not yet .. good call Anarion :-D
ArPharazonV: Composed by Sam, was it?
AnarionV: That may be the movie messing with us
AriehnV: composed by Frodo originally
AnarionV: I think a webpage said Frodo
AriehnV: and Sam added a verse
AnarionV: Ah, right
AnarionV: Of course the fireworks verse wasn't written by Frodo
ArPharazonV: Ah yes. It was just Sam in the movie.
AriehnV: ah i wanted to quote the line added to the list of Living beings but i cant find it
AriehnV: anyone who can help out>?
ArPharazonV: I have trouble remembering where it is, really, in the book. But I can take a google look.
AriehnV: sure google allowed :-)
ArPharazonV: http://www.councilofelrond.com/poem/the-long-list-of-the-ents/ this the one?
ArPharazonV: "And hungry as hunters, the Hobbit children,The laughing-folk, the little people. "
AriehnV: That's the one :-)
AriehnV: thankies Phari
AriehnV: I think that's all of the "hobbity" poems i can think of
AriehnV: either we can call it now or you can go on to songs and poems
of other people which there are a lot of in "The Lord of the Rings "
and it is a long list :-)
AnarionV: Yeah, we can sort of try at listing all of the hobbity ones
AnarionV: the full set is not something I can really attempt
AriehnV: all right let's call it then i suggest
AnarionV: Agreed
ArPharazonV: allright
AriehnV: for a fitting finish i ll copy you one you mentioned earlier
AriehnV:
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
ArPharazonV: I would've liked to see the second verse also appear in the movie, was wondering how to sing it.
top
AriehnV: And with this *flares a gavel up and signals .. "ting " or flash .. any way .. Aftermeeting :-)
AriehnV: do you mean this ?
AriehnV:
The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin,
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.
AriehnV: and Frodos version of it
AriehnV:
Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate;
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun
ArPharazonV: No, not the second version. The second *verse*. As in,
starting from "Pursuing it with eager feet", because we had Gandalf
singing the first verse.
AriehnV: ah right
AriehnV: there is a version of the Tolkien Ensemble of this song ii think
AnarionV: My sister made a painting with the first two lines of the first verse
AriehnV: nice :-)
ArPharazonV: It does provoke a good imagery, those lines.
AriehnV: there we go
AriehnV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYoTdnaPEaw&list=PLEVOMhlgh1RKnkc4uULaVNNt5Lek7j8GF
AriehnV: thats the old Walking song by the Tolkien ensemble
ArPharazonV: Certainly a different tune from Gandalf's version, in the movie.
AriehnV: yeah
AnarionV: I must say I like the movie one a bit more
AriehnV: yip and this one make s me just shudder .. but its .. genious
AriehnV: not hobbity but related
AriehnV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsVIHMx7zGc&index=2&list=PLEVOMhlgh1RKnkc4uULaVN Nt5Lek7j8GF
AriehnV: just enjoy it *shivers*
ArPharazonV: Amazing what mood you can set with just a good choice of instruments, hm?
AnarionV: indeed
AnarionV: Oh, since we are kind of between topics:
AnarionV: http://pasteboard.co/2agxvGFQ.png
AnarionV: Varda pointed out that this place existed to me
AriehnV: hm :-) we are aftermeeting so feel free to comment or whatever comes to mind
AnarionV: Its in Osgiliath in LOTRO
ArPharazonV: Got your own court, hm?
AnarionV: It is somewhat in a state of disrepair
ArPharazonV: When you get to Harad eventually, can you find the monument of my arrival? ;-)
AriehnV: needs a bit of a polish *nods*
AnarionV: Haha, yes, Ar-Pharazon
AriehnV: knowing Turbine i am sure they certainly will include that in some tiredsome deed :-)
ArPharazonV: a "state of disrepair" is always such a nice phrase, considering it just means it's an uncleaned mess...
thesirg3 has left the room.
ArPharazonV: Right. Hmm.
ArPharazonV: Personal gaming time!
ArPharazonV: I'll start with a few flashgames I've played this week :-)
ArPharazonV: http://www.kongregate.com/games/pouchmouse/proke
is a typing game, where you have to build walls/towers with words to
reach large heights before time runs out. There's a ranking system with
quests, which saves your progress, too, but it does get more difficult
with each rank.
ArPharazonV: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Jindo/llamas-in-distress
is the second game, a platformer where you have to go around with a
gravity-manipulating llama to finish all the levels. Can be difficult,
but is fun :-)
ArPharazonV: http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/disaster_will_strike_6 is a sequel to a fun series, where you have to break evil eggs with several types of projectile.
ArPharazonV: And that's my flashgaming for this week.
AriehnV: okay thanks Phari :-)
ArPharazonV: Now... blizzard games. Hmm.
ArPharazonV: Let's start with Starcraft II! With Legacy of the Void out, the Collector's Edition arrived for me :-)
ArPharazonV: I haven't really poked the protoss campaign yet, but I did
go through the big field manual that came with the CE, and looked at
the behind the scenes dvd. Good fun!
ArPharazonV: I also continued the zerg campaign from the previous
expansion, and am now halfway through the Space chapter, with only the
final chapter to go after that. Almost there!
ArPharazonV: Diablo 3: Didn't play much, but I did log in to claim the LotV CE reward, a probe pet. Looks pretty cute!
ArPharazonV: Hearthstone: got
the CE reward for that too, a protoss card back. Fits the priest class
very well, I think! I haven't tried the first wing to the new adventure
yet, though I did buy it. Unfortunately, the other wings are going to
take some time to save the gold for.
ArPharazonV: Heroes of the Storm: Continued my questing there too. Finished the Halloween quest, so I got a new portrait for that :-)
ArPharazonV: Malfurion made it to level 9. Also, new mount there from
the LotV CE, looks quite nice, though thematically unfitting for the
Warcraft heroes at least.
ArPharazonV: WoW: New pet claimed there, the archon!
ArPharazonV: Not too much progress in my activities there. I did get
halfway between revered and exalted with the Ashran faction while
farming for auctioneer parts there, and got one of the 3 by sheer luck.
If I get exalted before getting the other 2 I'll just get the rest from
the Auction House, at about 10k a piece. They're quite rare to get, but
I wanted to give it a try anyway.
ArPharazonV: As for raiding, we had our first attempt at heroic
difficulty Archimonde today, the last boss in Hellfire Citadel. At 60%
it's not a bad first try, but it'll need a few weeks to get done,
probably.
AriehnV: ok good luck with that
ArPharazonV: Thanks :-)
ArPharazonV: And that's my news for this week!
AriehnV: i had a first go for the Hellfire raid in lfr this week ^^
ArPharazonV: Oh, great! How'd it go?
AriehnV: but only got one tome for the legendary
ArPharazonV: Aw. You'll get there eventually!
AriehnV: it wasnt too bad but managed to lock myself out the first event
AriehnV: because of ignorance hehe
ArPharazonV: Ouch.
ArPharazonV: Well now you know!
AriehnV: aye i know now :-) it wasnt as hard as i expected
AriehnV: but i have halfway decent gear at 672 or itemlevel
AriehnV: something like that
ArPharazonV: That's a good place to start LFR, yes.
AriehnV: :-)
AriehnV: i think i got even something could use :-) one item that is
ArPharazonV: Great!
AriehnV: so have to bring myself to do the rest of the instances but its always such a ugh effect hehe you know .. lfr
ArPharazonV: Yep. Glad I don't have to do that anymore ;-)
AriehnV: :-)
AriehnV: i got my pets in Diablo and wow from the Blizzcon :-)
AriehnV: they are cute
ArPharazonV: Yay! Murkidan, right?
AriehnV: yup
AriehnV: Namarie to you both
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
AriehnV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: saving and sending transcript
