ArPharazonV: One year for every nazg- I mean fellowship member!
VardaValar1: hehehe

VardaValar1: Any other general game or branch news?
ArPharazonV: Could mention that Legends of Equestria has another open weekend this weekend!
ArPharazonV: Looking rather smoother every time, though I didn't get a good look at much new stuff this time.
ArPharazonV: But you can join if you want, I think it ends some time today!
VardaValar1: Sounds as if they're trying to stay on top of it, a good sign.
VardaValar1: In more LotRO news, on the forum, Indis added some urls about the LI's that are also official.
VardaValar1: Twitch stream all about the new LI system with Frelorn and Jinjaah: http://www.twitch.tv/lotrostream/v/4010618

VardaValar1: Thanks Indis. :-)
AriehnV: the cloak sounds nice as a reward :-)
AriehnV: well i did some gaming with Sauron last week in SwotR :-)
VardaValar1: Aye
VardaValar1: Go ahead, Arien. :-)
AriehnV: Monday and Tuesday night as it was :-) Monday was random hehe Tuesday planned
AriehnV: I went with my dps Jedi Sentinel and he on his healer
Scoundrel . We managed to do a flashpoint and a heroic questline
involving bandits and pirates on Tatooine
AriehnV: Heroics in SwotR are mini instances for 2 to 4 plus players
AriehnV: but they are less challenging than regular dungeons .. i . e. flashpoi8nts
AriehnV: but we did one of those too :-) that is a flashpoint
AriehnV: was an amusing one since we had a tank two healers and one dps which was yours trulyu ^^
AriehnV: but was fun and we managed good
VardaValar1: yay :-)
AriehnV: on Tuesday we carried on on Tatooine and cleaned up the first area on Tatooine of bug people Genosions I think?
AriehnV: and of course some illegal syndicate we annoyed too and helped with each others class quests
AriehnV: so we had a good time and plan to meet again on tuesda\y this week :-)
AriehnV: i played a bit more on my new castery Jedi Sage in the guild who is making good progress as well
VardaValar1: So it's working out, very good.
AriehnV: it seems to . as long as they stick to the tuesday
AriehnV: as my day off .. they have the knack that when i find something regular fun to do to change the day off
AriehnV: and spoil the whole thing .. but anyway for the moment it works :-)
AriehnV: thats it from me there
VardaValar1: Thank you, Arien. :-)
VardaValar1: Just let Sauron know when the day changes and something may be worked out.
VardaValar1: Communication solves a lot, and we can do that! Yay Valar telepathy!
VardaValar1: Any other news?
top
VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: In the rp, Frali's is still the most recent post. Thanks again, Arien. :-)
VardaValar1: Eonwe may have to re-figure his before posting again, and he and I may need to work out a bit on the timeline.
VardaValar1: Keep us in sync.
VardaValar1: Actually, we might be able to try a group email between all the rp people at need.
VardaValar1: Would you two check your email or the forum more often?
ArPharazonV: Both daily.
VardaValar1: So either is fine for Phar. :-)
ArPharazonV: Yep.
AriehnV: i dont mind .. email might be safer
ArPharazonV: Though I suppose I prefer forum-writing over writing emails.
AriehnV: but i check the forum sometimes
AriehnV: if i know i ll chek more often :-)
VardaValar1: That makes sense. :-)
VardaValar1: I check email daily, forum less often, but same as you will check the forum more often if a posting is suspected.
VardaValar1: Whisper me Tolkien topics if you have one. Meanwhile, here's this one:
ArPharazonV: We have a thread for this stuff anyway, don't we?
VardaValar1: Two parts.
VardaValar1: Yes, we do.
VardaValar1: Sounds as if we should just use the forum.
VardaValar1: Topic part one: Which of Aragorn's names can we come up with?
ArPharazonV: Strider, Longshanks, Elessar
ArPharazonV: Viggo
VardaValar1: hehehee
VardaValar1: Arien, did you have some more to mention?
VardaValar1: Estel, Thorongil, Wingfoot, Elfstone, Renewer, Envinyatar
VardaValar1: Hey you.
ArPharazonV: Wingfoot?
ArPharazonV: I suppose it beats Longshanks.
VardaValar1: Eomer called Aragorn Wingfoot, after he heard about their run chasing the orcs so fast for that long distance.
VardaValar1: It was complimentary.
ArPharazonV: Ah :-)
AriehnV: hmm cant think of anymore
AriehnV: thats all i think
AriehnV: Isildurs hair as titel . upstart
AriehnV: Denethor called him that i think
VardaValar1: Isildur's Heir, aye
AriehnV: hehe lol what a typo ^^
AriehnV: so sorry
ArPharazonV: King of Arnor! And Gondor!
ArPharazonV: Man of Westernesse?
ArPharazonV: My captain, my king?
VardaValar1: The Dunadan
VardaValar1: High King of Gondor and Arnor
VardaValar1: Now that we have those names, how did he get each one? :-)
VardaValar1: Wingfoot has been answered already
ArPharazonV: Strider: Ranger nickname, presumably after the way he strode.
VardaValar1: Strider was a name he was called in Bree, as was
Longshanks, as he walked quickly with purpose and had long legs.
Neither was complimentary.
ArPharazonV: But notable.
VardaValar1: Telcontar meant Strider. Since the Hobbits called him that
in a friendly way, he took the name for his royal house name.
VardaValar1: Thorongil meant Eagle of the Star, the star if I remember
right was worn by him, and they compared him to an eagle. Complimentary
name while serving incognito in Rohan and Gondor.
VardaValar1: Elessar is elvish referring to what Men called the elfstone he wore. It was green, by the way.
VardaValar1: I could go on about the elfstone or give you an article I wrote for the Tolkien Site:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/articles/e/ElessarStone.htm
VardaValar1: Envinyatar refers to his being the Renewer, bringing back the full high kingship to the chieftains of the Dunedain.
VardaValar1: and renewing the Free People.
VardaValar1: Isildur's Heir: He is in the direct line of descent from Isildur, the High King of Arnor and Gondor.
VardaValar1: As High King, that also gives Phar's mentions of two
separate titles of king of Gondor and King of Arnor, also called the
South Kingdom and the North Kingdom.
VardaValar1: (That gave some more names.)
VardaValar1: The Dunadan, a title heard for him in Rivendell, refers to
his being not just any Dunadan, but their chieftain and therefore High
King.
VardaValar1: Man of Westernesse is like the Dunadan, as the line comes from Westernesse.
VardaValar1: Westernesse is also the Isle of Numenor, Atalante
VardaValar1: That gives him some more names.
VardaValar1: His being such a far traveler and of such a prestigious
line and so actively heroic and leaderly is why he has so many names.
AriehnV: like the spanish
AriehnV: tghe longer a family name the more prestige it holds and the older the family
VardaValar1: Oh, and Estel, meaning Hope, to cover his name of Aragorn
until he was old enough for leadership at the ripe old age of twenty.
AriehnV: Born of Hope .. indeed
VardaValar1: In his case, he tended to pick up a lot of nicknames. Not quite the same.
VardaValar1: That's all I can think of at the moment. If you think of any others, please feel free to pop it in here.
ArPharazonV: So he's an Atlantean!
VardaValar1: Aye. :-)
VardaValar1: JRRT hit a lot of different mythology, one reason he's so much fun to read.
AriehnV: :-)
AriehnV: yep Numenor has definitely a lotr of Atlantis
AriehnV: some say Atlantiis was renownned for their learning and
technical research but also very reluctant and almost arrogant in
passing on that knowledge
AriehnV: some say they destroyed themselves because of that
VardaValar1: Sunk under their own hubris?
AriehnV: mh sort of
VardaValar1: Sounds like Numenor all right. :-)
VardaValar1: I'm going to pick up this handy hammer here...
VardaValar1: *hefts hefty hammer*
VardaValar1: *hwonnnnkkk*
VardaValar1: *bedrock vibrates*
VardaValar1: *Eyes hammer.* That was a good one.
AriehnV: *sends rays on hammer in melodious rhythm*
top
VardaValar1: After-meeting!
VardaValar1: *Carefully replaces the humming hammer back on the shelf.*
ArPharazonV: *watches shelf vibrate*
VardaValar1: Maybe we should give it soothing music?
VardaValar1: *plays harp*
VardaValar1: Free chat - the harp isn't loud, just background music.
AriehnV: *the dancing rays move calmingly *
ArPharazonV: Allright, personal gaming.. let me find something for flashgaming
ArPharazonV: Here's something that kept me busy for a bit on one afternoon:
ArPharazonV: http://www.onemorelevel.com/game/shape_fold_animals dragging puzzle game where you have to put all the linked pieces of paper in the shape of animals.
ArPharazonV: Not too difficult, though the last few can be a bit frustrating.
ArPharazonV: Then there's the Legends of Equestria open weekend I mentioned earlier, which I didn't spend too much on... too much other stuff to do this weekend.
ArPharazonV: Hearthstone: Some
of the classes are starting to get nearer level 34, but otherwise..
nothing much. I did manage to complete Molten Core on normal with the
class challenges included.
ArPharazonV: Warrior challenge can be a lot of fun :-) The bosses
themselves are pretty interesting too, with weird gimmicks. Though they
do match the bosses in World of Warcraft.
ArPharazonV: Didn't play D3 this week, though. Should get started on my monk, but because season 3 lasts a lot longer, I've got time.
ArPharazonV: WoW:
ArPharazonV: We had Darkmoon Faire and Noblegarden this week, Noblegarden lasts until tomorrow I think.
ArPharazonV: I got all the new racing achievements that were available
at the Faire, one of which was quite difficult; and also the new
noblegarden pet, the mystical spring bouquet.
ArPharazonV: We also killed the Blast Furnace in the Blackrock Foundry
this week, leaving only one boss, Blackhand. Had some practice on him
on tuesday, and got to phase 2 once, but it'll be a while before we get
him down and can start on mythic difficulty :-)
ArPharazonV: And I got my first Harrison Jones garrison quest this
week. I thought I was lacking some sort of condition to get him to
spawn, but it seems I was just unlucky.
karakedi25 has entered the room.
karakedi25: aiya
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
VardaValar1: Aiya Indis :-)
ArPharazonV: And that was my gaming news, so there's space for Indis if she has any :-)
VardaValar1: Thank you, Phar. :-)
karakedi25: sorry to be so late. I was on the test server for lotro
VardaValar1: We're in After-meeting. We gave your forum links for LotRO LI's.
VardaValar1: Sounds fun.
karakedi25: just started the quests to take me to Eastern Gondor, and I also imbued my legendary items to see how it's done
karakedi25: so lots more time to spend in Gondor. I hear that the end of the Epic book that I just started is quite spectacular
karakedi25: the dawnless day, though lore-appropriate, is rather depressing (as it should be)
karakedi25: Have any of you been to Central (live) or Eastern (beta) Gondor?
VardaValar1: Live Central Gondor yes.
VardaValar1: Haven't been on the beta server, but a lot of other folks have.
karakedi25: I think the next update is going to be good
VardaValar1: Yay! Looking forward to it.
VardaValar1: Have you tried any of the new instances?
karakedi25: not yet
karakedi25: what have you heard about them?
ArPharazonV: Am I still here?
VardaValar1: Just that they exist
ArPharazonV: Ah good :-)
AriehnV: well the aiya indis :-)
AriehnV: how are you?
karakedi25: ok, thanks. You?
AriehnV: when is the new update coming out?
AriehnV: all right getting tired .. very l.. yawny
AriehnV: i woke up way too early for a sunday ^^ habit
karakedi25: we still don't know when it's coming out. Probably a matter
of weeks. The team seems to be trying to get things right and want as
much feedback as they can get
VardaValar1: I'd like them to hold off and get it right as much as possible before going live.
AriehnV: yeah .. we know too well what its like the other way round
karakedi25: agreed
AriehnV: moany players and overworked gms :-\
VardaValar1: Let us wait and anticipate something the GM's can be proud of. :-)
ArPharazonV: Oh, I've got something else gaming-related...
karakedi25: I need to go back and work on my Beorning in live...
karakedi25: go for it Phar
ArPharazonV: The maker of one of my favorite webcomics, Homestuck (which I've mentioned before) has been working on a computer game based on his comic's universe, and released a trailer today.
ArPharazonV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptSacF8xb8k *make that two days ago
VardaValar1: You also have an url to the main comic?
ArPharazonV: http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6
ArPharazonV: I'll share further news as it pops up on the comic's website :-)
VardaValar1: Thanks. Just watched the video. I'd like to have seen something on how she deals with the monsters.
ArPharazonV: Well it's an adventure game, as the description says. So I
expect it to be similar to the Monkey Island series or games like that,
with puzzle-situations.
ArPharazonV: But my experience with adventure games isn't a lot, so it could be anything :-)
ArPharazonV: And going through the comments, it does appear to be
getting a combat system (based on the comic) so nevermind all that!
VardaValar1: Puzzles plus combat sounds good.
VardaValar1: And hi to Arien in LotRO. :-)
ArPharazonV: *waves at Arien through AIM*
VardaValar1: Not sure I mentioned that Aragorn had non-Aragorn names
partly to hide the Heir of Isildur from Sauron who would have made his
life shorter at the first opportunity.
AriehnV: hi hi :-)
ArPharazonV: You did mention Estel in a similar context.
ArPharazonV: But not sure if you were that specific.
AriehnV: i ll call it soon though at the hour ^^
VardaValar1: Ok, now being more specific.
VardaValar1: Good plan. We're in After-meeting and you're falling asleep. :-)
karakedi25: I have a visitor on the way, so I'll log out now. Good to see you all. Namarie!
VardaValar1: Namarie :-)
karakedi25 has left the room.
AriehnV: Namarie :-)
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
AriehnV: *yawns*
VardaValar1: Sun's about to go down, looks like.
ArPharazonV: *looks outside* Must be timezone thing.
VardaValar1: Arien's about to go down. :-)
AriehnV: Namarie :-)
VardaValar1: and yes, it's going down in rl here too
VardaValar1: Namarie
AriehnV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
ArPharazonV: Few minutes late, oh well
VardaValar1: Yay transcripts
VardaValar1: Are you still awake? Seems as if you'd be asleep. :-)
ArPharazonV: I'm here. Just about to shut down stuff :-)
VardaValar1: Okie dokie
VardaValar1: Sleep well :-)
VardaValar1: I think this computer needs a reboot.
ArPharazonV: Allright.
VardaValar1: Namarie for now.
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
VardaValar1 has left the room.
ArPharazonV: saving and sending transcript
