Screenshots from in-game (and other media) are requested for the Birthday, and for the Books project. Please email to Varda.
After-meeting:
This and the Before-meeting will be used for
personal info, non-gaming branch news, and quick game reviews (although
game reviews for grouping games should be emailed to Eonwe for the
Games Site). Gaming branch news relates to gaming information affecting
games where we have an official branch, and group things done by
Valarite members. This should cut some of the time problems we've been
having in trying to start the Tolkien section, but still let us do the
other fun things. Branch news needs to be pre-typed reports that
can be quickly put into the meeting.
Official current gaming branches: WoW Lothar, WoW
Uldaman, LotRO Landroval, SWTOR Ebon Hawk, and EVE. Guild Wars 2?
We also have a gathering spot on Steam, although not exactly a guild
branch. We have members gaming across mulitiple games who keep track of
each other, but without an official branch.

VardaValar1: we've been spending time in LotRO to bring you a picture (or several) for tomorrow
VardaValar1: since tomorrow is Sept. 22, the double birthday of Bilbo and Frodo
VardaValar1: We may have a problem with that, as I wasn't on my computer, but we'll see how it worked out

ArPharazonV: Bunch more seasonal Diablo 3, lvl 34 now, still trying to speed up the process, but at least I'm practically halfway to max level :-)

VardaValar1: The PTR patch notes have been updated.
VardaValar1: Two new blogs have been released, one on facial
customization in Warlords of Draenor and the other on changes to the
graphics engine.

VardaValar1: If you're looking to get the legendary cloak from
Wrathion's quests, you need to complete it before the expansion goes
live.
VardaValar1: Finally, Blizzard is planning to free up character names
from characters that have no been used in a long time. Read the
announcement for more info.
ArPharazonV: Long time = since the start of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, I believe.
VardaValar1: Now I'm worried about my characters :-)

ArPharazonV: This week Blizzard shared, via the forums I think, a bunch
of cinematics from WoD, mostly the end of questing zones.
ArPharazonV: They figured the things'll be leaked anyway, so they
thought they'd best do it themselves with the appropriate warnings.
VardaValar1: Maybe we could just give a link and let readers decide if they want spoiled
ArPharazonV: The MMO-Champion site compiled all of them in a single post.

ArPharazonV: As for personal stuff, I got my last silver medal for
challenge modes today, giving me a new pandaren phoenix mount, with the
promise of the other when patch 6.0 hits

ArPharazonV: I've also finished my scenario-grinding for items to
unlock rare bosses in the Brawler's Guild, and am only missing 2 things
now; one coming from farming (which I'm working on) and one coming from
the Darkmoon Faire (which is still some time away).
ArPharazonV: Actual farming, that is. Using the farm at Halfhill to grow crops.
VardaValar1: Sounds hobbity :-)
ArPharazonV: Now it's really time for some loose ends; I am now
planning to max-level the last 5 pets needed to get the cricket reward,
and finish up some quests on the Timeless Isle. But in all I think I'm
pretty much ready for the patch now ;-)

just like to rant a bit on what I"m doing in WoW, the things I

VardaValar1: We also had Talk Like a Pirate Day, with people talking
like a pirate, and each of us was asked to kill at least 10 Corsairs or
bandits as a Valar thing.

ArPharazonV: (small interjection: Also Brewfest has started!)

AriehnV: the players basically decide how the economy of the world goes
AriehnV: with good and evil methods allowed .. as long as it stays in game i think
AriehnV: so piracy , bandits , smuggling , scam .. within the gaeme its allowed

AriehnV: pillaging and conquest of course i should mention as well ^^
AriehnV: so it is pvp oriented as well if players chose so
AriehnV: but there are dungeons and quests
AriehnV: it looks a bit like a fantasy MMO version of Eve-online :-)

AriehnV: but free to play
AriehnV: aye
ArPharazonV: But they're not running the show :-)

ArPharazonV: Well, I mean, the players seem to be in control.
AriehnV: yeah absolutely as i understand
AriehnV: there are over 100 classes which you sort of create with a combination of three skillsets
AriehnV: Main skill .. which decides whether your character is a caster or melefighteer or ranged archer
AriehnV: or sneak style melee
AriehnV: so a rogue of kind

AriehnV: and there is naval combat as wwell
AriehnV: it sounds quite interesting
ArPharazonV: Sounds fun!
