Eonwe Valar: Gaming:
Eonwe Valar: WoW:
Eonwe Valar: Lunar Festival is going.
Eonwe Valar: A first look at the human female model has been posted, along with an article discussing the thought processes behind the model revamps. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/12426480/artcraft-a-first-look-1-23-2014
Eonwe Valar: Blizzard continues to connect realms.
Eonwe Valar: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/11393305/connected-realms-update-123-1-23-2014

Eonwe Valar: LotRO:
Eonwe Valar: Patch 12.2 was released this week. See https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?540239-Update-12-2-Release-Notes-Official for the patch notes.

Eonwe Valar: Starcraft 2:
Eonwe Valar: Patch 2.1 was released this week as well.
Eonwe Valar: See http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/12346798/starcraft-ii-patch-21-notes-1-21-2014 for the patch notes.
Eonwe Valar: Also this week in Starcraft 2, an article from Blizzard about the Art Tools: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/12444476/patch-21-art-tools-1-21-2014

Eonwe Valar: Also, they have put up a new website for the Blizzard Arcade: http://us.battle.net/arcade/en/blog/12540671/introducing-the-blizzard-arcade-website-1-22-2014 is where you'll see the announcement.
Eonwe Valar: And the website, hehe.

Eonwe Valar: Diablo 3:
Eonwe Valar: Blizzard must be feeling really confident about their new desktop app at this point, because they're just about ready to force D3 players to update to it prior to the Reaper of Souls expansion.
Eonwe Valar: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/12440699/diablo%C2%AE-iii-launcher-upgrade-incoming-1-21-2014
ArPharazonV: I haven't tested it yet, but I have a feeling it'll be mandatory at some point soon.
Eonwe Valar: It's going to be mandatory for all current games eventually, and aye, looks like that time is coming soon. Very soon for D3 :}
Eonwe Valar: *current Blizzard games, of course :}
ArPharazonV: Hah, yes.
Eonwe Valar: Any other gaming news?
ArPharazonV: Yep!
Eonwe Valar: Floor is yours, Phar :}

ArPharazonV: Did some flashgaming, of course, got my second "Kongpanion" from Kongegrate, as told last week..

and on WoW I started a process of levelling a whole bunch of pets for the Celestial Tournament, and I'm doing that through Pandaria trainers, since someone gave me tactics to 2-pet all of those so I can level low-level pets with them.
ArPharazonV: So now I'm levelling pets on trainers so I can defeat more trainers so I can level more pets, and maybe in one or two weeks I can start doing the tournament ;-)

ArPharazonV: But most interesting gaming I did this week...
ArPharazonV: The Legends of Equestria http://www.legendsofequestria.com/ open server weekend.
ArPharazonV: Lasted from Friday to Sunday, and each day I spent quite a few hours exploring the place, finding all the landmarks, doing all the questlines that were in so far, filling my bags with rewards and other items, testing the magic system, the combat system, all the different emotes of course...
ArPharazonV: and taking dozens of screenshots, a lot of which I've already put up on my WoW guild's forum (offtopic section) since people had asked.
ArPharazonV: It's been a lot of fun, but I think I've pretty much done and seen about all that can be done and seen, and a lot of it together with other players, like exploring the forests and playing a few hide-and-seek games, or just hung around in town.
ArPharazonV: It's all well-made, looking great, and over a huge space, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops further in the future!

ArPharazonV: Oh, and I guess I'll mention one more unrelated thing. He's not online to say it himself, but I guess I'll put forward that Fladrif told me he's gotten into the Hearthstone beta.
Eonwe Valar: Cool :}
ArPharazonV: I know he's played Magic: The Gathering in the past, and from what I gather, Hearthstone is a bit simpler than that, but still quite enjoyable.
ArPharazonV: In his opinion anyway!
ArPharazonV: Not tried it myself.
ArPharazonV: And that's it for me!
Eonwe Valar: Thanks Phar :}
Eonwe Valar: Any other gaming news?
Eonwe Valar: Now is also the time for Tolkien topics if either of you have one you'd like to discuss.
top

Eonwe Valar: Tolkien:
Eonwe Valar: Everyone here say Aiya.
ArPharazonV: Aiya
Eonwe Valar: OK, that's two of us then :}
Eonwe Valar: What do you think, Phar, name game, see how far we can get taking last letter of previous name to choose new name? Trivia? Other?
ArPharazonV: Name game works.
Eonwe Valar: Ok
Eonwe Valar: You want to start us off?
ArPharazonV: Otherwise it might slow down a bit with 2 players.
ArPharazonV: Nimrodel
ArPharazonV: Oh, ehr, have to go for a few minutes. I'll be back in a bit.
Eonwe Valar: Hehe, ok
Eonwe Valar: Well, let's go ahead and bang the gavel here.
Eonwe Valar: *Bangs gavel*

ArPharazonV: You afk too now, eh?
Eonwe Valar: Had to go afk fo ra moment, yes :}
Eonwe Valar: Lalaith
ArPharazonV: Huor
Eonwe Valar: Rian

Eonwe Valar: Indis
ArPharazonV: Sam
Eonwe Valar: Marcho
ArPharazonV: Olorin
Eonwe Valar: Nienor
ArPharazonV: Radagast
Eonwe Valar: Turgon
karakedi25 has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Nienna
ArPharazonV: Aiya Indis!
karakedi25: aiya
Eonwe Valar: Heya Indis :}
Eonwe Valar: We're in Tolkien, doing name game.
karakedi25: ok
Eonwe Valar: Astaldo, a name for Tulkas.
karakedi25: did I miss any important announcement etc.?
Eonwe Valar: Nothing earth-shattering, no :}
ArPharazonV: Ori
Eonwe Valar: Ioreth
karakedi25: My mind isn't fully on this, so I think I'll pass, if I may
ArPharazonV: Haleth
Eonwe Valar: No worries, Indis :}
Eonwe Valar: Did you have any member news or anything you wanted in the meeting minutes?
ArPharazonV: We'll no doubt run out of suitable names soon anyway!
Eonwe Valar: Haldir
karakedi25: Nothing really
Eonwe Valar: OK
ArPharazonV: Ehr.. wasn't there someone in the Book of Lost Tales called Ros?
Eonwe Valar: Sounds familiar.
Eonwe Valar: Can you describe the character?
ArPharazonV: From what I can recall he was an Elf of Gondolin, and head of one of the houses/batallions in its defense?
ArPharazonV: Tolkien later wrote a section on the linguistic difficulties of the name, but whether that referred to him specifically I don't know.
Eonwe Valar: Quick search of our Tolkien Site's Elves index shows Rog.
ArPharazonV: Hah! Guess I was wrong and the piece was about something else. Then I'll go with Rog!
Eonwe Valar: Rog was associated w/ the Fall of Gondolin, don't see a reference to "Ros."
Eonwe Valar: Really? You going to make me be the guy to bring in Gandalf? :}
Eonwe Valar: Gandalf :}
ArPharazonV: Feanor :-)
Eonwe Valar: Rumil
ArPharazonV: Luthien
Eonwe Valar: Nimloth
ArPharazonV: Hurin
Eonwe Valar: Nerdanel
ArPharazonV: Legolas
Eonwe Valar: Saeros
ArPharazonV: Sauron
Eonwe Valar: Hehe, I'm running low on "N" names :}
Eonwe Valar: Hmmm...
Eonwe Valar: Nain. Now your turn to think of one we haven't used :}
ArPharazonV: Weren't there... like... 2 Nains? Or doesn't that count?
ArPharazonV: Namo!
Eonwe Valar: Well we'd result in the same conundrum,..
Eonwe Valar: Ah, touche :}
AriehnV: Nimrodel
Eonwe Valar: We'd already said Nimrodel :}
Eonwe Valar: Oropher
ArPharazonV: Allright, that one's for Arien, then ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Aye, if Arien wants in, that'd be the place to jump in :}
Eonwe Valar: Or rather, this would be :}
AriehnV: just thinking on an r name apart from Rumil
Eonwe Valar: Rian, Radagast, and Rumil are used so far.
ArPharazonV: And Rog!
AriehnV: ok .. hmm
Eonwe Valar: And Rog, aye :}
AriehnV: Rhiannon?
Eonwe Valar: Isn't that a Fleetwood Mac song? I'm not sure I recall a person by that name.
Eonwe Valar: *person in Tolkien's works
ArPharazonV: It does put me in mind of a Tolkien name starting with R though.
ArPharazonV: Want it? :-)
Eonwe Valar: There are one or two "R" names we haven't used.
AriehnV: whats the Riverdaughters name?
Eonwe Valar: Goldberry
AriehnV: Rianor?
AriehnV: sorry i cant think of anymore ^^
Eonwe Valar: We're running low on R names at this point anyway I believe.
ArPharazonV: Then mine's still useable, and would be mine...
Eonwe Valar: Phar, which one were you thinking?
ArPharazonV: and I'll say Roheryn!
AriehnV: go for it
AriehnV: very well :-D
ArPharazonV: Good luck with the n :-)
Eonwe Valar: If we were going with animals, yes, Roheryn would be a good one, hehe.
ArPharazonV: Pffh, it's a named character, and presumably intelligent.
ArPharazonV: We didn't restrict it to sapient species.
ArPharazonV: Or sentient. Or whatever.
Eonwe Valar: Well by that then we didn't really restrict it to characters either except by our own choice, and if we're opening it up to *any* name, well then I've got some more N names :}
ArPharazonV: Then we can go on for a while longer!
Eonwe Valar: Nindalf
ArPharazonV: Fangorn
Eonwe Valar: Neldoreth
ArPharazonV: Huan
ArPharazonV: I'm going to drain you of n-names eventually.
AriehnV: Neithan
Eonwe Valar: We'll see :}
Eonwe Valar: Neithan... Sounds familiar but I can't place it.
AriehnV: wasnt it the name Turin used first when he joined the bandits?
AriehnV: or used amongst Haldors folk i think
AriehnV: something like that
Eonwe Valar: Indeed it was.
Eonwe Valar: Well, since it still ends in N, I'll now choose one of the most obvious "N" names I can...
Eonwe Valar: Narya.
ArPharazonV: *looks around sneakily*
ArPharazonV: Aragorn
AriehnV: :-P
AriehnV: Nob
Eonwe Valar: Bofur :}
ArPharazonV: locations can be used now, right?
ArPharazonV: Romenna
AriehnV: Anumminas
Eonwe Valar: Sorontur
ArPharazonV: Rhosgobel
AriehnV: Lobelia
Eonwe Valar: Angrod
ArPharazonV: Dori
AriehnV: Ioreth
Eonwe Valar: Ioreth was already used.
AriehnV: Ingold
Eonwe Valar: Dior
AriehnV: was Radbug used already?
ArPharazonV: Not sure who/what that is.
ArPharazonV: An orc?
AriehnV: one of the guards in Cirith Ungol
AriehnV: was killed by Shagrat
Eonwe Valar: No, but it's Phar's turn :}
ArPharazonV: So do I continue from Radbug?
ArPharazonV: Gollum
Eonwe Valar: OK, let's keep the order Arien/Phar/Eonwe now so that it doesn't get confusing whose turn it is :}
Eonwe Valar: Menegroth.
AriehnV: ok hold on i have to restart the computer
AriehnV has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Hmm, guess Arien's having trouble getting her computer to let her back in.
ArPharazonV: Seems so.
ArPharazonV: What now?
AriehnV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Ah, there she is!
AriehnV: hey agaub
Eonwe Valar: I was going to say this is probably a good place to end the game, hehe, but here Arien is :}
AriehnV: again even
AriehnV: yeah but my mind is gettingsleepy to be honest
AriehnV: and typing crappy hehe
Eonwe Valar: Let's call it here then.
ArPharazonV: Allright.
AriehnV: but yes was fun :-)

AriehnV: Namarie for now :-D
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
AriehnV has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Sleep well Arien :}
karakedi25: Sorry not to be more active, but I'm going to call it a night here too. Namarie.
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
karakedi25 has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Sleep well Indis :}

Eonwe Valar: Wow, just got 59 gold from a Golden Moss proc.
ArPharazonV: Hah, nice one!
Eonwe Valar: That's better than I get from the Celestials most of the time, lol.
ArPharazonV: What is the proc-chance on that again?
Eonwe Valar: Not sure.
Eonwe Valar: Hmm, not seeing a proc rate on Wowhead, but it says ICD is 5 min.
ArPharazonV: Ah. So it works better if you kill things slower :-)
Eonwe Valar: Hmm...
Eonwe Valar: I'm not quite sure that would be the best way to phrase it. Killing slower doesn't seem to boost the proc rate, so you'd probably want to be fighting stuff *when* it comes off cooldown.
Eonwe Valar: Probably the bigger the group you can kill in one go, the better, to increase your chance of getting the proc sooner.
ArPharazonV: Let's just say.. if you have a field of mobs close together, the worst thing would be to aoe them all and kill at once; ideally you'd kill one thing every 5 minutes.
ArPharazonV: And if it doesn't give the gold, you kill the next thing.
ArPharazonV: And if it does give the gold, you wait another 5 minutes.
ArPharazonV: Assuming they don't respawn.
Eonwe Valar: Well, each kill only gives you a chance to get the gold, so you'd want the most chances at once to trigger the proc and get the cooldown counting away as soon as possible.
Eonwe Valar: If you were going for most gold you can get in an hour, anyway.
Eonwe Valar: Also, it looks like other people can loot your gold pile.
ArPharazonV: Ah. That's worse :-)
Eonwe Valar: Indeed.
Eonwe Valar: You know, I'm surprise how well the Savory Deviate Delight dropped by the pirate rare sells.
Eonwe Valar: *on the AH
Eonwe Valar: Doesn't seem like it should be a big deal to me, but apparently there are those willing to pay upwards of 100 gold per stack for it.
ArPharazonV: Not bad.
Eonwe Valar: I sell it for approx 100g on average, and I recently got one buyer who went up to 180g.
ArPharazonV: Even better.
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
ArPharazonV: Last in the room; saving and sending transcript.
