AriehnV: Aiya Phar
AriehnV: :-) how are you
ArPharazonV: Good. Been playing lots of Hearthstone.
ArPharazonV: You?
VardaValar1 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Arien and Ar-Pharazon!
VardaValar1: Thank you so much for being here. Did I interrupt?
ArPharazonV: Aiya! Not really.
ArPharazonV: Just browsing a bit now.
AriehnV: No i just aririved actually myself
VardaValar1: Maybe you can find something nifty in the Tolkien
department. :-)
ArPharazonV: Browsing the internet, I mean.
VardaValar1: Ahh, that's what happened. The sun rose.
AriehnV: i replied to your Post Phari :-)
VardaValar1: Aye, maybe you can find something nifty in the browser on
Tolkien. : )
VardaValar1: ah hah!
ArPharazonV: Ah, I'll check.
ArPharazonV: Checked. I might respond to it later!
VardaValar1: That scouting ability with the critters is really handy.
AriehnV: yup i like that
ArPharazonV: Well I have to bring something to the party! ;-)
top
VardaValar1: Elen
sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: Membership:
VardaValar1: Phar always brings something to the party. : )
VardaValar1: To the entire guild, I apologize for my erratic showing
up, while here in Arizona.
VardaValar1: Also, thank you very much to Eowyn and Faramir for
arranging things so I could be here right now. : )
ArPharazonV: Great :-)
VardaValar1: Especialy for you folks in AIM and even rougher for the
ones in LotRO, thank you for putting up with my lack of ability to hang
out with you the way that should be done.
VardaValar1: To the Tolkien readers, I apologize for not being more
diligent at coming up with articles etc and picking on you all more for
new content.
VardaValar1: We lost our usual being a help with the movies, as I did
not diligently work to make sure we had plenty of Hobbit info up and
handy or do it in a timely fashion.
VardaValar1: So it's been a fairly long while that the Tolkien Site has
not been worked on diligently for content. As that always used to be my
main job as a Council person, you are all due an apology, and I hope to
be back to it better after May or near the end of it.
VardaValar1: Any other Membership news?
VardaValar1: Web:
VardaValar1: o sorry, that was not supposed to be clicked yet.
VardaValar1: Any other Membership news?
ArPharazonV: You have macroes?
VardaValar1: Not exactly. Typed ahead to enter when needed or erased.
VardaValar1: Some things are typed ahead, yes. But not much lately.
ArPharazonV: Aha.
VardaValar1: Keeps me from leaving out stuff. : )
VardaValar1: Mostly it's just typed on the spot.
VardaValar1: Bruce doing better these days, Arien?
VardaValar1: She's probably also in WoW atm.
AriehnV: yes Bruce is doing okay atm
VardaValar1: o good. All our best wishes to him!
AriehnV: he still has to do with the whiplash effect on his neck and he
sais he can occasionally feel a sting from his ribs
VardaValar1: ugh
AriehnV: so he s still taking painkillers and has physio appointments
AriehnV: but he sais he is improving
VardaValar1: Glad he's still working on it.
AriehnV: yeah still working on it
ArPharazonV: Improving's good!
AriehnV: unfortunatly my sister now has to fight with some spastic fits
since christmas and atm she is in hospital and the docs are trying to
sort her out .. especialy finding the cause
AriehnV: they are a bit at a loos of whats behind it
AriehnV: so they are fiddling with medication and exclusion method
VardaValar1: Yikes
VardaValar1: Christmas, and this is April. Here's hoping they find
something soon.
ArPharazonV: Where's House when you need him?
AriehnV: No head tumor and nerve water is clear as well
VardaValar1: Good :-)
VardaValar1: Oh, heard from Fladrif. He's ok, plans to be back. :-)
ArPharazonV: Yes. As long as you can rule out the worst, it has to be
some reassurance.
ArPharazonV: Ah, you did? I didn't see him.
VardaValar1: I emailed. : )
ArPharazonV: That works too!
AriehnV: Yeah that is some reassurance ,and they think it possibly
might have other organic causes but they have yet to find what
AriehnV: and glad that Fladrif is okay :-D
VardaValar1: ^^

VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: Any non-WoW, non-LotRO gaming this past week that you'd
like to mention? We had new stuff out recently people may have been
trying.
ArPharazonV: Not much to mention for flashgaming,
since the games I've been poking haven't been that remarkable. Fun for
a bit, but nothing special.
VardaValar1: That's a useful review too. Thanks.
ArPharazonV: I will say that Cookie Clicker has had a few big
updates starting on april fools.
ArPharazonV: A bit of a graphic conversion that is probably only for
this stage (or the april fools season, as it were), but also new
achievements that'll keep people busy for a long time and actually make
a big change to how efficiently you're supposed to build :-)
VardaValar1: Elwing says hi to all the gang over here. :-)
AriehnV: hi to Elwing :-D
ArPharazonV: Other than that, I've spent a lot of time playing Hearthstone!
Lost a lot, won a bit, but made it to rank 21 now for this rank-season,
only one more rank to go until I'll have earned the unique card-back
for this month.
ArPharazonV: hi Elwing!
VardaValar1: Moving right along!
AriehnV: I playede a bit Star Trek Online with the improved graphics
and the free expansion
AriehnV: The search for New Romulus
ArPharazonV: I've also been looking at card-decks online and stared at
a few golden card animations I'll want to collect in the long run ;-) I
have a long way to go, but it looks quite fun, even for casuals :-)
VardaValar1: Ahh, actual improvement in the graphics?
ArPharazonV: Allright, that's it for me, carry on :-)
VardaValar1: Golden card animations?
AriehnV: explain Ar :-)
AriehnV: .i l wait a bit
ArPharazonV: Every card in Hearthstone has a gold version; you have a
rare chance at getting them from the card-packs you can purchase, and
the gold version of you basic neutral and class cards will be unlocked
as you level your class-heroes.
VardaValar1: Purchase with in-game stuff?
ArPharazonV: Gold cards have the same stats and costs etc as their
normal versions, but with a gold edge around them, and more
significantly, the portraits on them will have animations instead of
still pictures. Some of them look amazing, and I hope to collect them
all.
ArPharazonV: Yeah, you can purchase packs of random cards with real
money or with gold you earn in game, from winning matches or doing
daily quests.
VardaValar1: A spread of ways. Pay to win or game to win as you please.
ArPharazonV: And if you want a specific card, you can also craft them,
though the crafting materials are obtained by disenchanting other
cards. So you'll need to get packs, and if you're unlucky, you can turn
the cards you get into what you do want.
VardaValar1: Beats letting the gold-sellers have it.
ArPharazonV: Golden cards can also be crafted, but cost twice as much.
VardaValar1: Good to know.
ArPharazonV: It'll probably take years for me to get all the gold cards
if I'm not paying real money for them, but at least I'll have somewhere
to work to!
VardaValar1: True :-)
AriehnV: Finished?
ArPharazonV: So between collecting cards, and collecting the card-back
for each monthly season, I don't think I'll run out of stuff to do in a
long time.
ArPharazonV: Yep, that's it :-)
ArPharazonV: Go ahead!
AriehnV: hehe :-) couldnt really get into it to be honest
AriehnV: ah yes STO
AriehnV: the graphics really did improve .. i lke the new designs of
the ships and the animation is better in general, also in the surface
content
AriehnV: a lot of the sto missions are devided in space combat - ship
or surface combat / exploration - major space combat
AriehnV: take between 45 mins and 2 hours depending on difficulty
AriehnV: there is also the option now that you skip the tutorial at the
beginning of the game if you have completed it on one character
AriehnV: else what is new .. yes the Romulan content
AriehnV: you can play now as Romulan and see how the Romulans were
chased from their homeworld and help them find a new home
AriehnV: and new enemies of course .. some bad guys , rogue Romulans
called Tal Shiar being their main opponent
AriehnV: together with the othe various intruders and inhabitants of
the galaxy of course
VardaValar1: hmm - play a Romulan... :-)
AriehnV: aye i have started one ^^
VardaValar1: (Ignore the alititis speaking.)
VardaValar1: Hah, too late. :-)
ArPharazonV: Who can resist the pointy ears?
AriehnV: hihi .. quite interesting to learn of history of the Romulans
AriehnV: that as well and i like the cloaking devices on the ships ..
really handy
VardaValar1: Pointy ears in Star Trek or Middle-earth, all great. : )
AriehnV: agreed :-D
AriehnV: so well worth trying out .. also like that the download is not
as massive as other free mmorpgs
AriehnV: and if you are crafty enough you can add your own content and
invent playable episodes for the game
AriehnV: world multi media development or something?
AriehnV: a customer told me today how you call it but i forgot already
^^
AriehnV: Thats it from me :-)
ArPharazonV: I just call them custom campaigns ;-)
ArPharazonV: Am I still here?
VardaValar1: Aye
ArPharazonV: Good. Never know!
VardaValar1: heh
AriehnV: yes i am here too
VardaValar1: Any WoW news?
AriehnV: so basically players can add contentt
AriehnV: WoW
news yes ..
AriehnV: very hilarious april fools patchnotes ;-)
AriehnV: spent a few hours giggling reading through them
ArPharazonV: Yes, all the Blizzard april fools jokes were fun this
year. There's also an article about Draenei art, a Reaper of
Souls-based flashgame, and the announcement of a blizzard sidekick
fighting game; and a fake announcement of the Protoss expansion of
Starcraft II.
ArPharazonV: As for in-game, not much news from me. Been doing more
archeology, but still haven't gotten the one last Pristine I need.
ArPharazonV: I've gotten 46 normal versions of the same artefact, and a
bit of chance calculations tells me that there's a more than 99% chance
that I should have the pristine by now.. but I guess I'm just unlucky
for this one :-)
ArPharazonV: Just gotta keep trying!
karakedi25 has entered the room.
AriehnV: loved homerocks and Blushes ^^
karakedi25: aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Indis :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya Indis!
AriehnV: Aiya Indis :-)
ArPharazonV: Oh! More on patch-notes.
ArPharazonV: The alpha patchnotes for 6.0, the next expansion
pre-patch, have been released.
ArPharazonV: Much of it is still going to change, of course, but you
can see a lot of the class-changes we'll be getting in Warlords of
Draenor.
ArPharazonV:

AriehnV: i ve been playing a tad bit on my big blush in Pharas guild
but her daggers are so horrendous i dont dare do much heroics alas ...
not sure where to get better ones
AriehnV: but still managed to get some other things at least
ArPharazonV: Not sure about rogue-weapons. I don't suppose the Timeless
Isle vendor sells any?
AriehnV: probably he does i ll have to check
ArPharazonV: Well, that's it from me for WoW
AriehnV: ah finally i found the link for the april fools patchnotes for
those who missed them .. http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/10219152845
AriehnV: or just want to enjoy again :-)
VardaValar1: thanks :-)
ArPharazonV: Ah, yes, looking at my class there, the bonus to fishing
for my bearform makes me smile again :-)
VardaValar1: Nice :-)

VardaValar1: LotRO:
karakedi25: want me to say anything?
VardaValar1: We've had more folks showing up in-game lately. Fun to see
them.
VardaValar1: Indis, anything you'd like to mention for LotRO or other?
karakedi25: Yes, Landroval seems to be livening up
karakedi25: Update 13 is on its 4th iteration on the test server. We
also had an opportunity to see a livestream of the devs showing it off.
It will include 'entplay' and a fair amount of questing in Fangorn.
karakedi25: Plus flooded isengard. We'll see the events through session
play, since technically having completed Helm's Deep, we're past the
point where the ents attacked Isengard
VardaValar1: Nice way to pick up events we might have missed otherwise.
karakedi25: There was also an excellent Q&A with the devs and the
community manager (who was on vacation in Florida). Let me find the
url...
karakedi25: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?&postid=7135847#post7135847
VardaValar1: Ahh,thanks!
karakedi25: that's the transcript
VardaValar1: Anything else anyone would like to bring up for business,
gaming? Suggestions, comments?

VardaValar1: Arien and I both posted quite recently, if anyone would
like to catch up with those.
ArPharazonV: So did I!
VardaValar1: Phar posted, Arien replied, and then I went.
ArPharazonV: You did? Must check!
VardaValar1: ^^
ArPharazonV: Coming around, are you?
VardaValar1: It was set up a while back that if you guys didn't slow
her down, something more drastic would. :-)
VardaValar1: She needed to feel some kind of progress was being made.
VardaValar1: I keep seeing Indis'showing she's entering text but it
seems to be on her other computer. :-)
karakedi25: I think it's when I do wasd in lotro without leaving this
window
VardaValar1: oops :-)
VardaValar1: If no one has a chat topic in mind, we can call it here
and let people consider their next rp post?
VardaValar1: We seem to be very quiet, so *raises the hammer*...
VardaValar1: *thunk*
VardaValar1: Nice solid hit there
