Before-meeting
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
ArPharazonV: Look who set her alarm clock early.
VardaValar1: Aiya :-)
VardaValar1: I came to the room early and set an egg timer that just went off. :-)
ArPharazonV: hehe
VardaValar1: My regular alarm clock died and decorated the trash can earlier.
ArPharazonV: *mourns*
VardaValar1: All hail the brand new and more effective egg timer. :-)
ArPharazonV: *hails*
VardaValar1: Are you out of your game? Don't die on us!
ArPharazonV: Just finishing up my archeology daily.
VardaValar1: Nifty! Which race?
VardaValar1: (Inviting meanwhile)
ArPharazonV: Mantid. But got enough tol'vir fragments from selling the
artefact to Brann, that I could make an artefact of those as well.
ArPharazonV: And it was a 100g cat, so that's nice :D
fladrifv has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Cool
VardaValar1: Aiya Ent!
ArPharazonV: Aiya Flad!
fladrifv: Hoom boom!
fladrifv: Aiya
VardaValar1: Fladrif, in LotRO yesterday my character was working with
ents in-game. Memory sessions, moots of a sort, fighting, lots of
stuff. : )
VardaValar1: Thought of you. :-)
ArPharazonV: Must've been a 3-day session, then?
fladrifv: thank you for memorying me while im standing here in my hill top
VardaValar1: They even mentioned your friend, Leaflock.
VardaValar1: Treebeard is in Fangorn Forest where we get to meet him. : )
fladrifv: my dear friend, how is he? I havent heard of him since decades
VardaValar1: He seems to be concerned a bit about the situation, but not moving around much yet.
VardaValar1: (Fangorn-Valar says hi!)
fladrifv: Hi back Fangorn!

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: Membership:
VardaValar1: We have a potential new member part way through the test. Problems with time zones.
VardaValar1: Any news from either of you?
ArPharazonV: Ah, time-zone trouble. I remember that.
VardaValar1: If you came in, you'd probably be able to catch Hurin from Norway.
VardaValar1: And Arien once in a while.
VardaValar1: Anyway, you're both of course welcome. Free to play is doing well.
VardaValar1: But that's a digression. Any membership news?
VardaValar1: Indis had her operation and it went well, able to drive a car again. : )
ArPharazonV: Ah, good!
fladrifv: yay!
VardaValar1: Unfortunately they found cancer cells in the abdominal fluid so she has to undergo chemo after all.
fladrifv: all the best Indis!
ArPharazonV: Ack. That's not good at all.
ArPharazonV: Good luck to Indis then.
VardaValar1: Best wishes from us all, Indis!

VardaValar1: Guess I'm a slacker in that direction, nothing new.

VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: Any non-WoW, non-LotRO?
fladrifv: chess ... some old dos games....sl....starcraft 2
fladrifv: total anihilation
fladrifv: ... been bussy
ArPharazonV: Eh, some more flashgaming. Among others I tried a bit of Cursed Treasure 2, sequel to a tower defense game I'd linked some time ago, and I'm not sure if I already linked this one last week.
VardaValar1: Bilbo's been playing some StarCraft 2, and he and Sauron have been doing a lot of first person shooter teaming up.
ArPharazonV: In case I haven't, http://www.kongregate.com/games/IriySoft/cursed-treasure-2
VardaValar1: Thanks, never hurts to see it again.
VardaValar1: Fangorn and I did StarCraft/BroodWar (which he's playing right now).
ArPharazonV: And I'm thinking of buying Rayman: Legends, which should release around this time; I'd only heard about it in the past week, but I want to continue the series :-)
VardaValar1: Some of the gang are playing League of Legends.
ArPharazonV: Direct sequel to Rayman: Origins, which was one of the reasons I'd upgraded my computer at the start of this year.
VardaValar1: Not sure how the Guild Wars 2 group is doing, haven't heard from them lately.
ArPharazonV: And Flad and I really need to get together for TA at some point.
fladrifv: yes and sc2!
VardaValar1: You've just been invited, Flad! and Phar!
ArPharazonV: That too.
VardaValar1: Sounds like fun coming up. : )
fladrifv: it is you are invited varda! :-)
VardaValar1: I don't have SC2...yet. But thanks!
fladrifv: we have sc1 too
ArPharazonV: Aye, I think I've got that somewhere.
VardaValar1: In-teresing.
VardaValar1: Interesting.
ArPharazonV: That one might not actually be installed yet.
VardaValar1: WoW:
VardaValar1: Phar was just telling a bit of news there. Go ahead if you have anything on WoW.
ArPharazonV: Oh, just reported on a bit of archeology, but that's
really a frequent occurrence. We did kill heroic Ji-kun today, though!
Which is the last heroic mode boss we'll be trying before the new patch
comes on wednesday (tuesday for the US).
ArPharazonV: So if there's anything you still want to do for 5.3, do it now :-)
ArPharazonV: Yeah, I think that's it for me.
VardaValar1: That's really soon! Thanks for the warning!
VardaValar1: LotRO:
VardaValar1: We're trying to open up a server wide reward on Landroval server turning in Bounder's Tokens.
VardaValar1: They're found in odd drops all over the world, some places having more than others.
VardaValar1: They can also be picked up in the new Farmer's Faire games, as a bagful for each quest solved.
VardaValar1: Then we can pick up individual goodies.
VardaValar1: There's a nutty-looking new horse for the Farmer's Faire.
One description was that it looked as if it were wrapped in bag
material. ;-)
ArPharazonV: Ooh, would like to see a picture of that.
VardaValar1: Any other comments, suggestions, etc for anything at all?
VardaValar1: Trying to locate a picture; probably find one later but
ArPharazonV: Got a name for it?
VardaValar1: here's a great spot to see LotRO horses. It will probably be posted here soon:
VardaValar1: http://lotrosteeds.com/index.html
VardaValar1: I was looking under festival horses, didn't see it. I can try digging around.
ArPharazonV: No rush. If it's in a more convenient place soon, you can show me later :-)
VardaValar1: Anyway the Farmer's Faire is from September 5 - 19.
ArPharazonV: http://cosmeticlotro.wordpress.com/2013/09/05/farmers-faire-mount-2013/ this the one?
ArPharazonV: It does rather look like it's hiding under a blanket...
VardaValar1: Thank you!
ArPharazonV: The power of search engines. All I had to do was search for farmer's faire lotro horse ;-)
VardaValar1: *tries not to keep digging through that site*
VardaValar1: Very good! Grats to a good web searcing person. :-)
VardaValar1: *searching*
VardaValar1: Must have cooked my brain. Keeps dropping a letter here and there.
VardaValar1: on to...
top
VardaValar1: Tolkien!
VardaValar1: I learned something recently, that you may already have known.
VardaValar1: JRRT didn't want to have his books put into paperback and was blocking it.
ArPharazonV: Hmm no, hadn't heard about that. Could be in the Letters?
VardaValar1: The publishers in the USA that are lambasted as pirates
wanted to put it in paperback so it could reach more readers.
VardaValar1: It was in a site about publishing.
VardaValar1: After it was out in paperback and doing very well, then it was ok for everyone to do paperback.
VardaValar1: (And they did pay him royalties, apparently.)
VardaValar1: The market was opened up and far more people read his books.
VardaValar1: So it was both good and bad.
VardaValar1: I am very heavily into paperbacks for shelf space and
because they are easier to carry in my purse. Sauron dropes them into
his pocket (big guy).
ArPharazonV: So they published in paperback without his permission, but did pay him royalties. Tricky, that.
VardaValar1: Aye, it was an odd thing.
ArPharazonV: Oh yes, I've got paperback of nearly everything. All my
Tolkien-stuff is paperback, nearly all of my Discworld stuff is
paperback.
VardaValar1: My source is not necessarily 100% correct, but pretty trustworthy.
VardaValar1: Some of the Histories of mine are hardback, since they
weren't available around here in paperback. And I wanted them!
Precioussss.
VardaValar1: But they would fit much better and be easier to dig out of the shelf if they were paperback.
VardaValar1: That was my nifty new bit to share with you. : )
VardaValar1: The Hobbit movie makers are leaving more up in New Zealand after the movies this time, at the request of New Zealand.
VardaValar1: The country now realizes they can get great tourist traffic that way. : )
VardaValar1: At least one hobbit hole door should open and show an interior. Would be great to see!
ArPharazonV: Heh. Perhaps it's an example more fantasy movies shot outdoors will be following.
VardaValar1: It'll be interesting to see how much they actually leave up or add.
karakedi25 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: That would be smart.
karakedi25: aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Indis :-)
VardaValar1: We were just finishing up. Glad you caught us!
ArPharazonV: Build an elaborate set for a movie, movie becomes a
success, leave the set standing for tourists. It's not a bad idea,
really.
karakedi25: that was quick
ArPharazonV: Aiya Indis!
VardaValar1: Aye, we got through stuff pretty fast with three people.
VardaValar1: Any other Tolkien topics we want to hit before adjourning?
VardaValar1: Alrighty then, now's probably a good time to turn you guys loose. What time is it for you, Phar and Flad?
ArPharazonV: 10 minutes before midnight
VardaValar1: Hah, going to beat midnight this time!
karakedi25: good job
ArPharazonV: Quick meeting indeed.
VardaValar1: Could you pass me that hammer on the third shelf up, Fladrif the Tall?
VardaValar1: Well, my Tolkien bit was pretty short. Just fun to find something completely new. : )
ArPharazonV: Worth a mention, always!
VardaValar1: yay!
VardaValar1: Can you reach it with those giant hands, Fladrif?
VardaValar1: It's ok. *flies up to the shelf and drags the hammer down*
VardaValar1: Another bit of trivia.
VardaValar1: Only Manwe, Varda, and their folk kept the ability to fly over time.
VardaValar1: This may be one reason Maiar Balrogs didn't fly. Like the evil ones they followed, they lost the perk.
ArPharazonV: But do they have wings or not? :-)
VardaValar1: *swings the hammer*
VardaValar1: *tha-dunnnnnk*
top
VardaValar1: After-meeting!
VardaValar1: And that's a tough question. : 0
karakedi25: let's not talk about balrog wings
VardaValar1: Something like spicy buffalo wings?
VardaValar1: Even if the Balrog of Moria had wings, he didn't have room to flap them. :-)
ArPharazonV: Good point.
VardaValar1: Wings look great when doing art. ;-)
AriehnV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: And the sun just came up!
VardaValar1: Aiya Arien. : )
AriehnV: Aiya all :-)
VardaValar1: Welcome to After-meeting!
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
VardaValar1: Last comment was that the Balrog of Moria didn't have room to flap his wings even if he had them.
VardaValar1: Cheers to you all!
VardaValar1: I'm going to join Gimli and our Game Master, Sauron, downstairs now. : )
VardaValar1: Free chat time!
ArPharazonV: Have fun!
VardaValar1: Guaranteed!
karakedi25: see you
AriehnV: enjoy
Menelvagor Valar has entered the room.
Menelvagor Valar: Aiya!
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
AriehnV: aiya Stranger :-D
AriehnV: how are you?
Menelvagor Valar: Tired, but otherwise fairly good :-)
AriehnV: been out tonight?
Menelvagor Valar: Been out this weekend :-P
AriehnV: what ye been doing?
Menelvagor Valar: Went to a birthday party of good friends on saturday,
and on sunday visited a nephew whilst visiting a (board and card) games
convention, where friends of mine were also demonstrating their new
game.
Menelvagor Valar: And is it just me, or is the meeting over already? Cuz seems rather silent here.
AriehnV: very nice
AriehnV: yeah its over already .. i missed it as well being a bit tied
up in rp at the moment butr i didnt think it woulod be ;-)
AriehnV: Varda is busy with her tabletop so .. not sure what happened hehe
ArPharazonV: Rather short Tolkien section, with Varda sharing some new information she'd discovered.
karakedi25: namarie
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
karakedi25 has left the room.
AriehnV: Namarie
Menelvagor Valar: tabletop game, rpg, dinner? :-P
AriehnV: me rp in wow .. but just finished
AriehnV: Varda table top ;-) with Sauron as game master hehe
ArPharazonV: The all-seeing eye, swarming the players with bad guys. Rather fitting for Sauron.
AriehnV: indeed
ArPharazonV: Speaking of, got another Darkmoon Faire pet this week, a flaming eyeball... had to call it Sauron of course.
AriehnV: ooooh nice
AriehnV: my latest acquisition was a Nexus whelpling ;-)
Menelvagor Valar: bad guys? ... oh, you mean lawyers. Yes, that would be Sauron-esque :-)
AriehnV: acrtually it was Gahzrooki ^^ from the barrens after i
discovered you dont need anymore the crazy Moju for the Barrens gear
ArPharazonV: Hmm, good to get it now, Arien, it'll go away in a few
days. Well, I believe they can be rare drops from some mobs still
wandering about the Barrens in 5.4 onward.
AriehnV: hehe oh yeah lawyers .. dont say the l word .. grin .. said the lawn ornament
ArPharazonV: But it's a lot easier to just get them now.
AriehnV: lwill the troll quartermaster still be there?
AriehnV: so that you can get the gear for 100 stone and wood or oil and coal?
ArPharazonV: I don't think so.
AriehnV: is it still possible then to do something with the gear drops from the area people werent able to get exchanged?
AriehnV: you know the dissident gear
ArPharazonV: Not sure. Might be on a forum somewhere. I never bothered with the gear, since I'm a raider.
AriehnV: hehe speaking of which got one of my mages to 468 itemlevel ..
and been trying out some of the lfr which i didnt know before
AriehnV: so had a bit fun with lfr last week ;-)
Menelvagor Valar: Thanks for the nice chat, but I am off again, I am very tired.
Menelvagor Valar: Namarie!
Menelvagor Valar has left the room.
AriehnV: bb
ArPharazonV: Next LFR soon, you need 496 for that :-)
AriehnV: ouch meh
AriehnV: it never stops does it ;(
ArPharazonV: Nope! It just goes on and on.
ArPharazonV: Well, this should be the last main raid of the expansion.
ArPharazonV: But we'll have more expansions after that!
AriehnV: woosh lol
AriehnV: when is the next one coming out then and what will it be called?
ArPharazonV: Not announced yet. Though there are rumors of trademarked titles floating about.
AriehnV: ah coolies :-) wonder how they will continue the horde
alliance thing since they are more or less forced together by beating
up Hellscream
ArPharazonV: They're not friends. The horde, with Vol'jin, isn't that
friendly to the alliance, they just recognize the common enemy; I think
it's more like "If the alliance is going to attack Orgrimmar, we might
as well make use of it too."
AriehnV: *ah *smacks Nelf bear* :-P
ArPharazonV: Hey, I'm a nelf bear!
AriehnV: *pat *
AriehnV: Namarie :-)
AriehnV has left the room.
VardaValar1: Cool. Menel was on. :-)
VardaValar1: *flies off again*
ArPharazonV: have more fun!
fladrifv has left the room.
ArPharazonV: saving and sending transcript
