You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
ArPharazonV: Aiya
ArPharazonV: Not sure if we'll do another attempt, if so, afk for a good while again
VardaValar1: Aiya
VardaValar1: Making another attempt?
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Heya.
VardaValar1: Aiya Eonwe :-)
VardaValar1: Phar seems to be in a raid at the moment.

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: Membership:
VardaValar1: Seeing a lot more of the gang since the Helm's Deep expansion for LotRO. : )
VardaValar1: Thanksgiving is coming up next week, changing up schedules.
VardaValar1: Any other membership news?

VardaValar1: Web:
VardaValar1: Nothing new on my end. Most people are gaming right now, rather than writing or drawing for Middle-earth.

VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: Any non-WoW, non-LotRO news?

Eonwe Valar: D3: Reaper of Souls is apparently in beta already.
Eonwe Valar: Well, the friends and family beta at least.
ArPharazonV: argh, 0.1% wipe on Garrosh, and that's the end of my raidweek.
VardaValar1: An addition to the current game?
Eonwe Valar: Closed beta not far behind.
ArPharazonV: Allright, I'm here.
Eonwe Valar: Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is the expansion.
VardaValar1: We're in non-WoW, non-LotRO gaming, just right for you, Phar. : )
VardaValar1: SWTOR for Bilbo and Sauron and Gimli
ArPharazonV: Ah! Well. More fun flashgames this week. Let me see if I can dig one or two up.
VardaValar1: Good to hear
Eonwe Valar: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/11649795/friends-and-family-beta-test-underway-11-19-2013 for info on the current stage of beta, and a little info on what comes next in testing (closed beta).
VardaValar1: Thanks for the link
ArPharazonV: I'll go for...
Eonwe Valar: "Clans" and "Communities" coming soon to D3. And I'll end it there :}

ArPharazonV: http://www.kongregate.com/games/FunkyPear/gravitee-wars Gravitee Wars, a game not unlike a Worms shooter type of thing, but on little planets. A bit simple, but fun to use various weapons and blow stuff up, hopefully including the other teams.
VardaValar1: I'm all for more running around in the stars. : )
ArPharazonV: Then you might like this one!
ArPharazonV: Allright, played a few other games, but nothing too special. That's it for me.
VardaValar1: I'll have to click that link later and try it out. : )

VardaValar1: WoW:
VardaValar1: Eonwe, you had news?
VardaValar1: (pardon, door)
Eonwe Valar: Pilgrim's Bounty should be starting up soon.
Eonwe Valar: Since it is, after all, the Thanksgiving event :}
LizMarr has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Ioreth :-)
Eonwe Valar: WoW 9th Anniversary event still going, so get in your levelling/rep grinding now while you can use that item to get the 9% boost to both.
ArPharazonV: That too! I used it to get exalted with the Emperor this week, after a lot of hours of grinding :-)
Eonwe Valar: :}
VardaValar1: Sounds handy
VardaValar1: Any other WoW news?
ArPharazonV: Well, still don't have my Garrosh kill, with 0.1% health off or I'd have gotten it just now *sigh* guess I gotta wait another week
LizMarr: I got 7 day pass I'm going to use after NaNoWriMo is done
Eonwe Valar: I *think* that's it for now, unless you haven't heard that Blizzard intends to not have flying in Draenor until the content patch after the expansion launch.
AriehnV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: I've also been gathering more pets etc from the Timeless Isle, and those I didn't get, I at least found out how to try for them.
LizMarr: after I worked so darn hard getting that thing
LizMarr: besides bein level 95?
ArPharazonV: And after that I think I'll just spend my time tying up loose ends in Pandaria until the expansion. Which brings us up to 100, btw.
LizMarr: I looked at some of the timeless animals and I didn't see any new colors or such
VardaValar1: Be good to have Ioreth in WoW for her 7 day run. : )
ArPharazonV: I mean battle pets, Liz.
LizMarr has left the room.
ArPharazonV: Ioreth.
VardaValar1: 100, nice
ArPharazonV: silly non-valar names!
LizMarr has entered the room.
LizMarr: bother
ArPharazonV: Aiyata
VardaValar1: Welcome back : )
karakedi25 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Indis : )
karakedi25: aiya
LizMarr: Aiya Indis
ArPharazonV: Aiya Indis!
LizMarr: anyway, I'm a hunter. but last I looked at was at 113 on the pet web site
ArPharazonV: I was talking about battle pets, Ioreth.
LizMarr: hey, 113 is repectable for my server
ArPharazonV: Ah, those are battle pets :-)
ArPharazonV: I'm around 500 unique ones.
LizMarr: that's ranking
ArPharazonV: Wait, what?
LizMarr: about 250 pets
LizMarr: there is a web site for battle pets
ArPharazonV: You have pet rankings per server? Is this amounts, or wins, or what?
LizMarr: you make and account and it will parse your pets from wow
LizMarr: this one is number of pets
ArPharazonV: interesting, is this on warcraftpets?
LizMarr: they have wins and such as well, compared against their own database.
LizMarr: let me grab the link
LizMarr: http://www.warcraftpets.com/
LizMarr: its great to see what you have, what color, and then what else is there
LizMarr: it gives you a count of your unique pets, compared to others in your server, and there are some fighting stuff. I'm a collector not a fighter

VardaValar1: On to LotRO:
ArPharazonV: I'll try it.
VardaValar1: Indis, you had some impressions on the new Helm's Deep?
karakedi25: I like it a lot, though it gets a bit tedious in the Broadacres. However, the storyline is generally excellent.
karakedi25: The only class I've spent much time with is the lore-master, for which I'm using the pet line (blue), and it's working well.
VardaValar1: You're talking about the questing. Aye, it's well done. Follow the book epic to each hub, do the hub (town) quests for a trait, move to the next.
karakedi25: yes, I'm about halfway through level 92, and it seems to be going smoothly.
karakedi25: I'm not planning epic battles until I reach 95, though
LizMarr: I like the epic until I get to helms deep. I ground to a solid stop on beta
ArPharazonV: Does anyone have trouble with Ioreth's text background color?
VardaValar1: Some of us ran across Fastitocalon, the giant turtle. Over a million hit points. Took a long time to kill, pllus watch out for the warband of huorns that he crosses through.
VardaValar1: It is a bit hard to read through the pink, but managing.
VardaValar1: Glad you are getting to run farther in the live version, Ioreth. : )
LizMarr: I found a warband turtle right there as well, dark something
VardaValar1: Darkheart was the warband Huorn. Fastitocalon was the giant turtle.
karakedi25: it seems odd to me, but I can read it
LizMarr: right click and there is font color
ArPharazonV: It's not the font, it's the background.
VardaValar1: Aye, pink background
ArPharazonV: But eh, as long as you don't mind it in the transcript...
LizMarr: setting is there as well
VardaValar1: It will be removed in the transcript
LizMarr: this ok?
VardaValar1: Easier to read, thanks.
karakedi25: I've gotten farther than I ever did in beta. Yes better.
ArPharazonV: Still pink to me, but it stays pink until *I* say something. Probably different with another version.
ArPharazonV: Now it should be fixed :-)
LizMarr: didn't realize it showed everywhere, was there for October
ArPharazonV: Yep, that did it.
VardaValar1: The expansion as a whole is beautiful in the landscape and villages. Each village has a different style.
AriehnV: is it pink?
karakedi25: I liked the epic battles in beta, once I went in with someone who knoew what he was doing
VardaValar1: Aiya Arien : )
karakedi25: yes, the world building is marvelous
karakedi25: I think lotro has a winner here
LizMarr: yeh, wimpy hunters are slow and too easily lost
VardaValar1: The gaming has a few bugs, but it's mostly quite clean and quite playable, with a definite path to follow.
VardaValar1: I did fine on my hunter so far in the world.
LizMarr: from the beta there was way fewer problems with the mechanics than rohan
VardaValar1: We're trying out the different builds, specs that we can switch between when not in combat.
AriehnV: i ll have try with helms deep once i get through Rohan hehe .. and maybe i ve got enough turbine points by then to buy it with points :-)
LizMarr: I was level 84 with home made gear doing everything without problems until I got to the helms deep fighting
LizMarr: then I was level 92 as they only took us to 91 and I got another level, but the instand makes you 95 no mater what
VardaValar1: Enjoy where you are, Arien. The new area will still be there and maybe less laggy with people by then. : )
VardaValar1: In the Epic Battles, your top equipment levels up to the top, but the other equipment that isn't the same level is still at a lower level. Might try equipment all of the same level.
VardaValar1: I'm very much enjoying the new stuff, still working it out. Planning on having different characters that handle each Epic Battle role: officer, vanguard, and engineer.
LizMarr: I had fun as 84 and I was able to do most of the stuff and all of the epic. sertain mobs I was hopeless against
LizMarr: you can switch the epic rolls around the same as your traits
LizMarr: have different things figured out ant then switch
LizMarr: if I understand, you cannot switch when the fighting starts
VardaValar1: Forgive me, time constraint. Switching the topic to
top

VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: Two things:

VardaValar1: 1. Merry-V sent a YouTube url
VardaValar1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8ymgFyzbDo
VardaValar1: Misty Mountains Cold with lyrics and a well done movie clip accompaniment

VardaValar1: Second:
VardaValar1: In LotR, what does JRRT show as leading to happiness?
ArPharazonV: ..Going across the sea?
VardaValar1: A book, "The Lord of the Rings and Philosophy" came up with six.
VardaValar1: We may be able to come up with more
ArPharazonV: Having a bucketload of kids tends to do it for some of the leading hobbits.
karakedi25: almost certainly harmony with one's surroundings and society
VardaValar1: Companionship, like the name of the first book, the Fellowship
VardaValar1: The Istari even came as a group of five
VardaValar1: The hobbits aren't happy running solo.
ArPharazonV: even the Black Riders liked to operate in teams.
VardaValar1: Merry and Pippin, Frodo and Sam, the Conspiracy
Eonwe Valar: Aye, it's good to have friends and loved ones.
VardaValar1: Delight in simple things
VardaValar1: Eat, drink, gardening, bright clothes (think Bilbo's brass buttons!)
VardaValar1: Parties, presents, riddles
VardaValar1: pubs
karakedi25: harmony with Ea as Eru designed it
VardaValar1: Lack of complex machinery, so they were close to the earth
VardaValar1: Aye
VardaValar1: Hobbits had very little government oversight, mostly ceremonial
LizMarr: funny how today a lot make fun of folks who keep things that simple
VardaValar1: Lots of singing, also in harmony with Eru who created with song.
VardaValar1: Work that benefitted lots of people.
VardaValar1: Rangers protecting the Shire from things that would have made their blood run cold to see
VardaValar1: Gondorians keeping Mordor away from the rest of Middle-earth, at least in their vision.
VardaValar1: Power of recovery by making light of troubles, especially for hobbits.
VardaValar1: Beauty helping the heart
karakedi25: a sense of humor, even?
VardaValar1: Sam in Mordor saw a star twinkle for a while and the beauty got his heart, so that the dark was only a small and passing thing, light and high beauty were forever beyond its reach.
VardaValar1: Sense of humor for sure!
ArPharazonV: So, hope helps :-)
VardaValar1: Hope was so important that it was Aragorn's elvish name. : )
VardaValar1: Estel
Eonwe Valar: Afk for a moment.
VardaValar1: Cherishing and creating beauty gave happiness to both maker and those who saw or recevied it.
VardaValar1: Aule enjoyed making wonderful things, but had no real thought of owning them afterwards.
VardaValar1: The one real vice of the dwarves was their desire for keeping ownership of beautiful things, the spot where Sauron could reach them through his rings.
VardaValar1: The elves in Valinor made many many beautiful things for enjoyment
VardaValar1: Teleri ran in the shallow water where they had masses of beautiful pearls in the water.
VardaValar1: I'll bet that water was unusually clear for sea water. : )
VardaValar1: But even if not, the pearls would have shown up in surf, on the beach, in their hands as they scooped and tossed.
VardaValar1: Hobbits made beautiful gardens
VardaValar1: Ents cared for lovely forests; entwives for flowering gardens and food plants
VardaValar1: Humans made marvelous cities
ArPharazonV: Dwarves made caves?
VardaValar1: Dwarves of course, famous for marvelous craftsmanship, also cared deeply about the beauties in the stone such as gems or veins of ore that they cultivated with careful carving
VardaValar1: Gimli could speak of the Glittering Caves with passion about its beauty
AriehnV: ((another fascinating version of Misty Mountains https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OiYDUEu3i8 ))
VardaValar1: Creativity seemed to be part of their happiness
VardaValar1: Thanks, Arien
ArPharazonV: To create, to give, to enjoy what's given (by others, or by nature)
VardaValar1: Another thing that brought happiness was the sense of wonder
VardaValar1: In Lorien, Frodo saw no colors that he didn't already know, but each seemed new as if just created for the first time.
VardaValar1: A regaining of fresh vision
VardaValar1: In "On Fairy Stories", JRRT speaks of this sense of wonder
VardaValar1: Sort of like cleaning our windows so we can see the view. : )
VardaValar1: Triteness and familarity are wiped off the window and we actually see them.
VardaValar1: I'm out of time, but please feel free to continue enjoying each other's company and chatting. You are all wonderful folk who understand these concepts very well. : )
top

VardaValar1: After-meeting:
VardaValar1: Be happy!
ArPharazonV: Always good advice.
AriehnV: Namarie Varda and have fun
LizMarr: the concept of chatting?
VardaValar1: Aye, fellowship in chatting. : )
VardaValar1: Thank you. And hi from Sauron, Gimli, Bilbo, and Fangorn on this side of the screen. : )
ArPharazonV: Hi!

Eonwe Valar: For the record, Pilgrim's Bounty begins at 1300 Monday, November 24th.
ArPharazonV: 10 in the morning in Europe
ArPharazonV: on monday the 25th :-)
Eonwe Valar: Er, Monday the 25th, thanks, heh.
Eonwe Valar: I'm sure my date was right last year :}
Eonwe Valar: Er, no it wasn't heh.
Eonwe Valar: Pilgrim's Bounty was the previous week last year, looking at the Nov 2012 in-game calendar.
Eonwe Valar: Anyway, it starts tomorrow, and ends a week later along with the Anniversary event.
ArPharazonV: saving and sending transcript
